My boxer had been in antibiotics multiple times for pioderma. My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Before we knew it, that bite had gotten infected so bad she became lethargic, her face swollen an angry shade of red, she could not eat or even drink on her own and she could not even close her mouth and was drooling on herself. Because of the covid situation and proximity of timing to our trip to see family, there was no way to get her to a vet in time before we had to leave in 3-4 days. We did cut our weekend trip short by a day out of concern for her, but when we came back she was doing significantly better in that the swelling was down, but was reddened again. Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. I caught the spots early on and started treating them immediately and have been treating them for a month now and they are getting better but slowly, these things are stubborn. I can say that absolutely nothing else I tried worked. Believe it or not, I read online the other day that rubbing Pepto Bismol on hot spots actually works, you heard right, Pepto Bismol. I haven't had the nerve to try it as I thought it could just be some nut trying to infect your pet even worse. I bought this for my dog’s (14 year old Shar Pei) keratin buildup on his nose and paws. It dissolved the stuff great and I was able to wipe off the stuff on his paws after one application. That was really impressive. My dog has fairly mild Hyperkeratosis but his nose gets a fairly thick layer of buildup, and this product allows you to remove it fairly easily after a few applications over a couple days and a cooperative pooch. I was really impressed with how well it worked. I use it now preventatively which prevents bad buildup on his nose and paws, so all in all I’m certainly a big fan. I recommend at least the 2oz can if you think you’ll use it on the paws. The 2 oz can generally lasts me a couple months even with multiple applications per day. I bought the P.H. travel set to see if this would help my highly allergic, health challenged Scottish Terrier. (I've tried so many things, prescription and non prescription) Shes constantly on antibiotics for the sores that crop up all over her body and stomach from allergies. I'm sure my phone was listening to me trying to figure out what was going on with my pup's lips/jawline/snout- a natural dog co. ad appeared on my feed (s/o to surveillance?). The before and after pics were pretty convincing so I gave it a shot. We thought this package was a great way to sample all of the products and we're pretty impressed with the results. I purchased wrinkle wipes and wrinkle paste. I called to get some information on it's use, I used the phone number to speak person to person with a "team member" about my and my Vets concern's about it's use. As I was unable to find a list of ingredients on the site. I had to purchase the product to obtain a list of it's ingredients. So that my vet could determine if it was indeed safe for my dogs situation. He had some concerns.
To my dismay the phone only referred me to use the email address that was posted right next to the phone number???? If using the phone number is a waste of time, why is it provided. If email would have suited this situation I would have used it. Having a voice message to use the email and no other options is absolutely unacceptable customer service. They make it seem as if they care, but as elsewhere in life I see that actions (or lack of ) speak louder words. My frenchie has bad allergies and his face is always wet causing his wrinkles to become prone to infection his face would start bleeding in spots from how severe it was getting. I would use other products and they wouldnt really help.. but this stuff really works! His face looks soooo much better and has improved dramatically. I got the small 1.5oz pawtector. I don't know what I was thinking by getting the small one (would be great for a small dog or on the go), but it has helped relieve and protect my golden retrievers paws from the blazing sidewalks in the summertime. His paws have always been rough this time of year and he always chews at them. Ever since I bought this stuff, they have been drastically softer and he has been chewing at his paws so much less. I have rescue pit mix that gets nervous when I put stuff on his paws, especially things that are scented. These are unscented and he's less nervous and actually let's me put this on his feet! He also has extremely sensitive skin so many things burn or cause a reaction. Since these are all natural he hasn't had any reaction which is helping with his anxiety as well! We used this product on our grand dog. He was a scaly, crusty mess and had lost most of his hair. We took him to the vet and put him a regimen of medicated shampoo, oral antibiotics and an immunomodulator. We used the Skin Soother immediately after his daily bath. We also have him the salmon treats daily. I believe this product helped him regain his health. His color came back and all the scales and itching were gone. So I bought another. Even though the regimen is over, we are still bathing him regularly and applying the Skin Soother. That was over a month ago and he continues to look better than ever! My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. The hair started growing back and the dark skin was lightening up and becoming less dry and flaky. At the same time, my dog was scratching at it less so that was a plus. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. That being said, I had to order another to see continued results but I ordered the larger tin instead. My only issue with this product is the tin is a lot harder to apply. The texture itself is not as soft and smooth as the stick. I also had to use my own hands to spread it on which I did not like at all. It also gets messy in the tin as my pug sheds so there is now hair stuck in the product. My recommendation to the company would be to have the stick in a larger option and I would gladly purchase that. However, currently I greatly regret purchasing two of the tins instead of the smaller sticks. All in all, this product works and I would buy it again! My 22 month old extremely active male yellow Lab, Gus, developed redness and a rash on his belly area while running him 5 miles every day in and around rice fields in Glenn County, located in the Sacramento Valley in Northern California.
