My dog ate this willingly only twice. I've even dipped it meat juice & he will not eat it. If I crush it in his food he rejects the whole bowl. He is not picky at all. so these must taste pretty bad. They are very dry. no idea if they work or not, can't see results if he won't eat them. I can assume the ingredients are medicinal. Cocker has “dry eyes and prescribed steroids and cyclosporine twice daily each eye. Suspect his extremely elevated liver enzymes may be due to long term steroid use or could just be his age. Haven’t tested for Cushing’s but sonograms reveal no tumors on liver or pituitary glands. He was lethargic and never feeling well until his doctor advised trying the Denamarin. His Opthalmologist concurred it was a great idea. Haven’t yet tested his liver enzymes again to see if the numbers have improved (hasn’t been on them quite a full month) but I’ve reordered and will receive the pills monthly. Bottom line: he’s a lot more energetic, playing with his toys again, not sleeping all the time, just overall feeling so much better. He’s acting normal again—normal for an 11-plus year-old Cocker. Did a lot of research before giving him the Denamarin and felt they were safe, and most people had positive results using it. Only drawback would be that the pills for large dogs are really big. You’re supposed to administer 1 hr before or 2 hrs after a meal, which I do with a little piece of boiled chicken breast to hide it and help it go down, and it goes down without a problem. Can’t imagine any dog of any size being able to swallow a pill that size without an owner hiding it in a little chunk of something, cheese, pill pocket, treat. Anything to help it go down easier. And helps if they drink a little water. Can’t wait to have his liver enzymes tested again. I’m confident they will have improved. Side note: when one’s liver is not working properly, urine can have an odd and strong odor, which his did. Standing several feet away, I knew something wasn’t right. That too has resolved which makes me believe his liver is on the mend.Yvonne

My little dude isn’t the biggest fan of brushing chews- but he loves these! I have a 3 year old Chinese Crested (hairy hairless) and the hairless variety of this breed suffer from a gene that causes them to lose teeth or have improper dentition and dental issues. The manufacturer sells the product in 1 gram (small dog), 2 gram (medium dog), and 4 gram (large dog) sizes. Each package contains 3 packets to be given over 3 days. In order to get the correct amount for your dog's weight, you may need to order more than one package. According to the manufacturers instructions, you need to administer one gram of product (daily) for every ten pounds of animal weight. So, up to: 10 lbs = 1 gram; 20 lbs = 2 grams; 30 lbs = 3 grams; 40 lbs = 4 grams; 50 lbs = 5 grams; 60 lbs = 6 grams, etc. So, if your dog weighs 11 to 20 lbs, you need to order a 2 gram (medium dog) size and give him 1 packet per day for 3 days. But if your dog weighs 21-30 lbs, you need to order a 1 gram (small dog) AND a 2 gram (medium dog) package, and give your dog a packet from each size for 3 days. Each pack 40 pounds. Total 80 pound dog. Sprinkle in with a quarter cup of warm broth, stir well. pour over their dry food and blend in. They won't notice and eat their food. Sneaky but, it works. Saves me tons of money. I have two large dogs and Heart-guard can be very expensive every month so I subsitute during the cool to cold months. You save and your dogs stay healthy from worms. This product has sufficient EPA and DHA for large dogs — many other pet supplements do not. Even some "human grade" supplements are woefully deficient. I did my research before choosing this product–Nordic Naturals checks all the boxes (no mercury or PCB contamination, high levels of both EPA and DHA, good quality control). A vet reviewed it for me and was pleasantly surprised, as she usually finds the EFA pet supplements clients bring to her to be inadequate. My dogs love the taste of it too. We had one of our dogs on a Big Box store capsule of generic fish oil (for humans) twice a day, and she still suffered from dry skin. I expected they would have a meaty flavor that I could trick him with, but he can smell them even if they are tucked into a piece of meat. I have a pill cutter that I used to cut these into quarters and tuck into a piece of meat, but there is no tricking him. He'll eat pieces of sausage without the pill but not the ones with the pill. This is my first review ever and I'm only writing this because it saved my cats life and wanted to let others know to try this before giving up. My vet gave my cat medicine for his high liver numbers that came out of nowhere. My cat lost 6 pounds and stopped eating completely. Checked his blood after a month and it was worse. She said to take him home and give him TLC for the time he had left. There was nothing else to do she said. I found this and gave it a try. 2 months later he is eating like a champ and can't get enough food!! His skin turned from yellow to pinkish again. My dog had some bad teeth that we knew needed to be removed. We take care of her dental health religiously but due to genetics at 10 years old she had some teeth that had turned pretty bad and pretty quickly! We could not have them removed, however, until her liver enzymes came down! The vet sent us home with an impossible pill that had to be taken an hour before food and this was NOT going to happen with our dog! I would say compared to others out there that these may not taste as well as others we have tried. I most likely would not purchase these as they didn't seem to agree with my dog very well. The bites are bug for my cat, i have to split it into 3 so she can eat it. She loved it at first but then didn’t care much about it. I have intentionally waited to write a review because I wanted to give enough time to see if the Fidoplex was going to make a difference. I bought this supplement a year ago because my cavalier king charles spaniel had recently experienced two bad episodes with ivdd and she’s only 4 years old. It’s so painful to see your little one suffer like that and the treatment is slow to help, although the laser treatments and steroids did return her to her old self. I read before I bought this product, that some dogs don\'t like the water after you add this. So at first, my dog drank the water but then she stopped. She would come up, smell it and walk away. After a while, I switched to fresh water, without this product, and she drank so much so she was definitely thirsty but unwilling to drink. I can say that after using this for 2 days, her breath did smell good! So the product works! My girl Patches had a lump on her front leg. It turned out to be a sarcoma. We removed the tumor and discussed radiation therapy. I made the decision to wait and see what would happen.. She was 14.years old and would have to be put to sleep 15 straight days for radiation. After 8 months, the tumor returned. My vet said the only way to really take care of this was to remove her leg. Again, she was now almost 15 years old and I did not want to traumatize her that way. We took the tumor off again but I knew that if it grew back again, I would need to make other decisions. I started giving her food with the Critical immune Defense in it. It has been almost a year now and the tumor has not come back! She does have some other health issues but at 15.75 years old, she appears to be doing okay as far as the cancer is concerned. I am very pleased with the results. I have three cats that seem to need better nutrition, even with good food. This mixes well with the soft food, and I add a little bit of water. They are very discerning though; they know if I try to add extra. One cat I got as a kitten was a rescue and was probably on his last day of life. He was starving, covered with lice and fleas and trying to eat stones. He was so tiny, he fit in the palm of your hand. Gave this to my one year old cat and within an hour she started vomiting, she rapidly got worse and started having tremors, brought her to the vet and they said she had ingested something toxic but couldn’t see anything obvious either in vomit or blood or urine, I informed them of the wormer and all he had to say was well we used to use that but don’t anymore, 5 days later she died. I was reluctant if this product would work. I was concerned if the kitties would notice the taste or not eat all their food on the plate at one sitting. I put just a tad into some Whipped Cream (it does the trick every time!) and every cat not only ate the medication, the plate was licked dry. Have not noticed any fine pieces of "rice" so know its done its job. My 7 week old tri color bully has vomited in his third day at our house, I googled and saw it said it’s normal for pups to do this sometimes, no worries. Two days later early morning(6:50am EST) he vomited then about 10 minutes later he pooped out about 8 long worms, found they were Roundworms. I immediately went to Meijer and grabbed two boxes of this 7 Way De-Wormer for Small Dogs and gave him a tablet which he happily chomped down. He passed loads of dead worms in each stool that day(like twice). The next morning his belly wasn’t bloated anymore but he wouldn’t eat much but drank water. By the evening he was felling great and back running through the house, he passed about 3-4 live worms in 2 of his 3 stools that day, the third stool had no worms! On the third day there were no more worms in his stool but I gave him the other tablet because I saw a very good vet recommend one deworming tablet day one, a second on day three then again in two weeks. It’s day 6 and he’s been worm free for going on 3 days! It says not to use til 12 weeks on the box, however if your pup is over 6 lbs then I think its okay to use. My little girl is a pit and catahoula mix and shes only about 7-8 weeks old and she handled the dewormer very well. She passed a HUGE tapeworm 🤢 we decided to deworm her due to tape worm segments being passed every so often which is absolutely gross. It took a little over 24 hours for her to pass everything. This is the single most effective and affordable dewormer for dogs. I will recommend this dewormer to everyone and use it for any puppies that I have in the future. Liquid dewormer from the feed store has NOTHING on this stuff and my puppy wanted to eat more of the tablet so I guess it was good. Seriously, get this for your pet you will not regret it.Sara

These worked right away for my 12 pound 1 year old dog. It took overnight to see the results. I snuck it into a chewy treat before bedtime and he didn’t notice it at all since they are super small. After receiving only 1 of the 2 pills (give second pill 2-3 months later for lasting results), he didn’t have anymore worms coming out of his poop and randomly out of his butt. He was constipated for about two weeks to a month and I don’t know if it had anything to do with the worms or the pill but he’s never had that issue before. It was a pretty quick fix by switching out his food temporarily for soft/watery food. Do not think twice about getting it for them as it is life threatening to wait too long for a vet visit. My puppy had an ongoing problem with soft stools. I was getting up 2-3 times per night to let her out, as well as cleaning up several messy accidents throughout the daytime. She was looking very lanky, and I was worried that nutrients were not being absorbed into her body very well. She had been taking FortiFlora since I had gotten her, but to no avail. Several rounds of metranizidol had been used which helped but only temporarily. I decided to take things into my own hands and try to get this under control. I put my puppy on a boiled meat/rice diet for a week. A friend referred me to Dogs Naturally and it is there I found Gut Guard.I began giving 1 tsp per day in the morning, as well as Zesty Paws turmeric chews (for IBS inflammation). We have a diabetic Labrador Retriever. It has been a rough 6 months for us. So much upset tummy, throwing up after eating. My 2 year adopted Pit Bull has had bowels issues since I got her at age 10 months. The vet tested her for parasites and every thing that could cause diarrhea. After 3-4 rounds of antibiotics and each time they were less effective my vet tested my little Daisy for Addison’s disease. So my 6mos. old pup is super hyper at night running around my apartment. He just have this excitement and energy at night when i come home from work. Also before going to sleep we still have to wrestle on my bed for a good hour or so. He just have that so much energy probably because im out all day. Tho he got tons of toys to keep him busy with and accompany him throughout the day when im at work.
