I bought this toy a week ago and it arrived two days ago. My dog loves it because it bounces and the bounce pattern is irregular so she isn't sure which way it will go. I bought this for my mom for Christmas because she has a Lab that LOVES to play catch. I had a few things I was worried about that ended up not being an issue at all: 1. My mom is in her 70s so I worried she would have trouble pulling the handle back. Ended up being a non issue pulls back easily someone older or a young child could pull it back 2. How far would it shoot. She has an okay size back yard but its not overly large and I didn't want it to shoot to far or to short. You determine how much power you want it to have based on how far you pull it back. It ended up working perfect for her average size back yard. 3. Would it be easy to load. Just so long as your dog is good about dropping the ball you just push the kannon right over the ball on the ground and it loads which makes it extra easy for my mom. Of course you can load it with the ball in your hand but after a few throws that ball can get pretty disgusting. Added bonus it has a place in the handle to put an extra ball so if you shoot the ball to an area the dog can't get it or you have another dog around thats a ball thief (like my dog) you have a backup at the ready. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a dog to likes to play catch and if I remember correctly they even have one for small sized balls if you have a smaller dog.Morgan
Playing fetch with my corgi proved to be anything but joyful after a few throws. After developing "tennis elbow" on both right and left elbows, I had given up until I discovered the Hyper K9 Kannon™. Within hours after purchasing the first one, I knew I had to get a backup ASAP. My corgi has never been happier playing fetch! The Kannon™ shoots the ball farther than I've ever been able to throw one by hand. It's great to be able to aim the Kannon™ where I want the ball to go, making it easy to make sure my corgi doesn't get in harms way en route to pick up the ball. My only concern is that the heavy duty rubber band might break at an inopportune time. I bought the backup just in case that would happen. I didn't see any option to order replacement rubber bands so I'm not expecting the Kannon to last more than a year. But, it is a small price to pay to save my elbows while adding a "ton" of joy to my corgi's playtime. Replacement balls are available. Honestly, my dog is little (Yorkie) and initially she was afraid of the JW Hol-ee Roller! But that was short-lived. To get her going I found some treats just the right size and stuffed them in the holes. Well you know, anything to do with treats has to be good! That got "the ball rolling"! No pun intended. Now it is one of her favorite toys. It's great because she usually wants me to interact with her with her toys but this one she is content to play with herself. The way it is designed she can basically throw it in the air herself then chase after it. I no longer put treats in it. So far she hasn't been able to chew it up but if that should ever happen I hope they are still on the market because I will have to replace it. They would make great doggie gifts too. We have bought several of these over the years and in various sizes. They are so much fun for the dogs and with a little creativity you can use them for an endless number of games and configurations. They are durable and easily washable and can be played with outside, in the water at the beach or pool, or inside. We like to stuff treats and toys and chews inside. Sometimes we tie a rope and fling it around outside for the dog to chase after. We have tied pieces of fabric to make snuffle balls so the dogs have to work to get their kibble or treats out of it. We have stuffed smaller holee-rollers inside and other toys like tennis balls or stuffed squeaky toys. We bought 2 sizes of this toy – the 5\" and the 8\". Both are great. Our dog is not a heavy chewer, nor a great retriever, but she loves to chase after this toy, catch it and run around with it. Because of the holes, it\'s easy for a dog to pick up. If she does come back to me with it, we play a bit of easy tug with it, though I\'m careful not to hold it too tightly as I read somewhere that someone broke their finger playing with it. In search of a ball that she could not easily destroy, and finding that heavy-duty foam balls had a similar problem, despite the price I gave this product a try.I was hesitant at first that she would enjoy it to the same degree as a regular ball; it's slightly larger than a standard tennis ball, which means she cannot carry it long distances, and the tough exterior makes it harder for her to squeak. However, she has pushed and chased it around since it was given to her. While she has chewed and tried "picking" at the material, it shows no signs of tooth marks. Assuming it continues to hold up, I would consider it well worth the price tag, and if she does eventually begin to destroy it would consider purchasing it again.Dean F.
How is this possible?! This ball is indestructible. My dog can destroy a squeaky toy in about 5 minutes and we're left with stuffing and fur and tails all over the house. A squeaky tennis ball lasts about 20 minutes if he's left to his own devices. We've had a few of Four Paws' old Squeaky Freaky, and while they held up beautifully, he was able to break the squeaker pretty quickly.This will. not. stop. squeaking. Now, that may sound like terrible news, but it seems to take just the right kind of bite to squeak, so it's not an incessant squeaking. It's not super high-pitched, either, so it doesn't send me to the mumbling room. It squeaks a little when you bounce it on hard floor, which is great for distracting my dog from other things he should leave alone (friends that are messy eaters, etc.).It gets a little slobbery, but what ball doesn't? I'm seriously blown away by the quality of this ball. We have several Planet Dog balls, but this is his favorite. He's been able to break a Snowball or two and has pulled the stitches off a football and baseball of theirs. This one shows no sign of wear despite near constant play.Caroline
My 11 month old, 60 pound golden retriever has been playing with this toy for 8 months now and it is still going strong. It is one of the few treat dispensing toys that she enjoys with or without treats. It is a fun ball on its own but even more fun when stuffed with treats. I bought the large ball and baby carrots and Charlee Bear crunchy treats fit perfectly in the larger hole which is almost exactly the size of a nickel. Any treat that can fit through a nickel sized hole would work great in this. There is a smaller hole (a little bigger than the diameter of a standard pencil) on the other side. My dog has become a toy destroyer recently and this is one of the few that are still intact. She has not chewed the continents off as mentioned in other reviews and the ball still looks perfectly new. My dog has at least 20 treat dispensing toys and I find myself going to this one again and again because of the ease of filling and cleaning and the fun factor for my puppy. She really enjoys rolling this around and gobbling up the treats as they come out. We also use it to play fetch in the yard and yes, even sometimes in the house. The ball is a bit heavy so could do some damage when thrown in the house. The large size of this toy is definitely for a larger, stronger dog. Let me also mention how much I love all of the Planet Dog toys I have purchased (at least 10). I am thrilled to find safe toys made in the USA for my precious pup!Kim

This is an awesome little gun. I purchased the mini because I liked that it was a smaller gun, but didn't realize that the balls would be smaller as well. That is my fault. We have a black lab and although she is on the smaller side, the balls are a little too small for her. They would be better suited to smaller breeds.kelskari
