It work great for the first few minutes , then it stopped working. I unplugged it and waited thinking maybe it needed to reset but no. I bought this for my new rescue dog as she is very timid. When we first had gotten her, we took her to the vet and had xrays taken of her stomach as she had hard green plastic in her pooh. The xrays also showed she had two very pointy screws in her stomach, so then I realized she likes to chew. The first night with the Huggie Pup was great; however, I noticed in the morning she had opened the back Velcro strip where the heart-beat box was located. The second night, I heard the Velcro being opened again, and knowing she's a chewer, I got up and removed the heart-box. I got up the next morning and looked at the Huggie Pup, the pocket was wide open and pulled out. If I had not take the heart-box out the night before she would have chewed the box to pieces (which has 3-screws) and eaten the batteries! With new balls, and a new machine, the product is exactly as advertised. After 10 minutes of fetch, the ball is too wet to throw as expected. The ball gets dirty, and the machine does too, creating a muddy internal process. The balls sent with the machine were subpar quality, and lasted about 25 throws a piece before they were starting to come apart. The machine doesn't adjust for ball sizes, so as a tennis ball wears down, the machine can't grab it, and forget about a tennis ball without it's hairy skin, they are too small by far. It's charging good, and working well if I keep putting new tennis balls in it, and run a towel through it, (although that's hard to do.) I suggest a manual adjustment be added to future products, to change the distance between the wheels that grab the ball. I think a tiny tweak on my machine would allow it to through hard rubber balls that wouldn't get nearly as dirty or wet, and keep the machine cleaner. Overall, I think the product is good, but is flawed in design. If there were just a few more capacities to make it work in the field and with different ball sizes, I think it's be a very strong product.Adam T.

GET THIS!!! I was hesitant to buy due to the price but it is worth every penny. Our rescue puppy had severe separation anxiety and would cry in his crate every night, throughout the night – this completely stopped after we paired him with his Snuggle Buddy. He LOVES his Buddy. A couple of user tips that worked for us:- after washing the Snuggle Buddy, we lightly rubbed our worn socks on it. Why? Bc our socks are an easy way for our dog to have our scent on his Buddy. This might help those whose dogs won’t take to the Buddy. Our puppy was apprehensive at first, but after we rubbed our socks on it, he immediately plopped down on it and slept. Attached is the picture of him that night :)- we *only* give him the Buddy in his crate, when he’s going to bed or will be crated for some time. He has a Pavlovian response and will automatically go into his crate as soon as he sees the Buddy; this might help some dogs with crate training. We also only give it to him in his crate because he tried shredding it, thinking it’s a toy, when he’s taken it out of the crate. We eliminated that by removing and putting away his Buddy every time we wake him up or let him out of his crate.- I bought bulk Hot Hands hand warmers as refills for heat. Get the small ones made for pockets; the body ones are too large and emit too much heat IMO. The pocket ones are perfect and last 12ish hours.- I also play soothing anti-anxiety dog music or put on a dog music channel from YT (they have ones like a walk on the beach or forest, with dogs in the background). Honestly, I don't know how well this product really works. I brought home my toy/miniature poodle mix on June 8 at age 8 weeks and 1 day, and since he was the first littermate separated, I expected it to be bad. I had a 10 hour drive home, and while he did cry and whine a bit, it wasn't too bad. He cuddled with his snuggle puppy at first, but not too much after that. He seemed to prefer beating it up and pushing it out of the spot I had put it in so he could sit there instead. He still beats it up a bit, but he also drags it back to bed after a while, so maybe he does like it.I crate trained him for overnight only (he has a large playpen for the daytime for the short amounts of time I need to be out of the house), and he adjusted quite quickly. I think I got lucky in the dog temperament lottery, though, and am not really sure I can attribute his quick adjustment to crate training to the snuggle puppy. I turn the beating heart feature on every night just in case it is working, but it's hard to say how effective it is. The first 4 to 5 nights I had him home, he cried and whined for the first 20-30 minutes he was put in the crate. Then I would take him outside after 2 hours for potty and put him straight back in and the crying/whining would start again. It was a very sleepless week until I realized that he could hold it for 4 hours at a time and we only have to get up once a night.After the first week, he adjusted to his crate and has never had an accident in there. He doesn't cry at all and is very reluctant to come out at 4 in the morning when it's potty time. I would say that if you have the extra money, get this product because it definitely doesn't hurt to have it. I really do think it's more about being present for your pup's adjustment period and not sticking him in the crate too often than it is about the efficacy of this product. I've only had this Snuggle Puppy for a couple days so I can't comment on durability or anything. I suspect the only issue I'll potentially run into that could cause issues is how well the puppy holds up to washing. I didn't buy this for a puppy. I actually bought it for newly hatched ducklings in a brooder. Sometimes the time between hatchings leaves me with a single duckling for a day or two. Putting a baby with an adult duck isn't a safe option so I was trying to find an alternative. Stuffed animals help some but I got the feeling they really wanted a heartbeat to calm them. They may have feathers instead of fur but they're still babies!So far I'd say it's duckling approved! After snuggling with regular stuffed animals in his brooder, Eggwyn would peep hysterically for someone to pay attention to him. I'm worried I'll forget to pull the heart out before washing puppy one of these days which would surely kill it.

Machine is constantly noisy which my dog does not like. It does not launch the balls very far at all (not even half the length of my yard). The sound it makes before launching a ball which is supposed to be the warning is lower than the sound the machine constantly makes. No timer which would help (just a slow to fast turn dial that doesn't make a huge difference).

Let me just say that my dog is absolutely obsessed with this All For Paws Interactive Automatic Ball Launcher Dog Toy, Tennis Ball Throwing Machine for Small and Medium Size Dog Training, 3 Balls Included, Mini Version And I mean beyond obsessed! Ever since I first introduced her to this awesome dog toy it’s the first thing she looks forward to in the mornings! She literally just wants to play with it all day long. It is extremely sturdy and it has 3 different settings of how far it throws the balls. The balls are the perfect size for my micro bully and they are also made of high quality and are very durable. She has ripped and torn many balls in the past but these she’s able to catch and chew on them and they are all intact. Unfortunately we lost one ball recently it was launched on the highest setting by accident and it went over the fence into the Main Street but luckily this came with 3 balls so she’s still out here running around and playing non stop. This is the perfect toy for any dog that loves to play fetch. The dog can even play by themselves. Once the ball is placed in the launcher it activates and shoots the ball out. (it automatically shuts off if not in use) Simply place it on the ground near you or where the dog can reach it. My dog caught on extremely quickly on how to return the ball to play again. There are 3 different distances you can set the launcher to 10ft, 20ft, and 30ft. (which is pretty accurate) if using the balls that come with the machine. (includes 3balls) The balls are the perfect size for my Yorkie measuring at aprox 2 inches wide. I found that it will also shoot any ball the same size, such as foam, or squeaky balls, but the distance differs. The machine can run via power cable that is included, or via 6 C batteries. The battery option is amazing for going to the park, and surprisingly lasts for hours. The only issues I have found is once the balls start to get dirty/wet they do not shoot out as well or as far. Also make sure the dog stays clear of the device and is not looking down the launcher to avoid injury. It would also be nice if it had an option to change it to manual. So you could load multiple in and shoot them out to be used for multiple dogs. Pros- Great distance, Dogs can play by themselves, can be used with Batteries or included power cable, CONS- shoots hard so keep pups away from shooter, no manual option for multiple load and shoot on demand, balls do not shoot as well when wet or dirty.ReviewQueen
All For Paws Interactive Automatic Ball Launcher is great product. It works just how described. The device is very well built and the concept is great. The hard part for me is training my puppy to use it. At first, my dog was afraid of the motor sound, it makes a bit of a whirring noise but after two days he got used to the sound. I started with training in increments; getting used to the sound, bring the ball back to me (next to the launcher), dropping the ball into my hands, and dropping the ball in himself (currently working on it). He does not yet feed the ball himself but I think he will learn over time. Something that I do not like about this product is the fuzzy balls. the balls become fuzzy after a few uses and within a few dozen throws. This makes my dog focus more on chewing and removing the fuzzy areas. I am going to look for some that size that are not covered in fuzzy stuff. Another issue that I have with this product is how to clean the inside after all the slobber is pushed past the gears.YM01

Don't last. My 11 lbs dog loves to catch them when they are bounced to her, then she brings them to you. I gave her 3 and within 3 days the turf started to unravel and come loose, the blue one was the worst. I had to cut the outside turf off because she had some in her mouth and was gagging with it. I can see where these balls could be a choking hazard so watch them closely for loose turf.Maria
My two dogs (small size about 15 & 20 pounds) really like these balls. They love to play fetch with them. They are supposed to be squeaky, but it is really hard to make them squeak. They also seem a little smaller than an actual tennis ball. My dogs actually can’t do it by themselves. Other than that, they feel very sturdy and I can see them lasting for quite a while. My cat even likes the toy balls and it wasn’t long before she stole them from the dogs. 🙂JT
2 days ago, I purchased the 4 pack of nerf squeaky tennis balls for small dogs. Within the first hour, 3 of the 4 balls stopped squeaking. The balls are for my 9 year old terrier mix, Diamond. She has never been an aggressive chewer, and hasn't done any damage to the balls. She also has no interest in toys that don't squeak. Very disappointed in this product. We like the size and bounciness of the balls, but my dog won't play with them since the squeaker is broken. In the past, I have fixed a lot of dog toys where the squeaker has come apart. But these nerf balls are unfixable.Christopher
