I would recommend this toy for a smaller dog or one who is not a powerful chewer. I know this is not intended to be a chew toy, but realistically, if you have a medium or large dog, they usually have a tendency to chew any toy you put in front of them. I have an English Pointer mix who normally destroys any toy I give him unless I get it from BullyMake or BarkBox. Unfortunately, neither offer a toy that compares to this one in terms of entertainment for your dog. He absolutely loved this toy so it is a shame that he was able to bite chucks out of it within 20 minutes. I can't find the pieces that he took out of it so I'm waiting to see if he passes them. If not, it will be a visit to the vet. He was so sad when I took it away from him and looked at me with those sad brown eyes. I would love to have one of stronger material that he could play with and not have to worry. I bought this toy because I saw a friend had it for her daughter, I instantly fell in love. Went to Barnes and Nobles the same day to get one for my baby who is learning to crawl. Thought this would be great for her. It is very cute! But I think I got a defected one because it doesn't roll. We found this on sale at Petsmart and honestly expected it to last maybe a day. It has been a few months now, and it has held up via my husky mix very well. She did manage to expose some interior rope, but you supervise and discourage (A quick "no" and show where/how to use it). Currently my husky mix loves either thrashing it to make it make sounds, or playing tug with my collie mix. I am very happy with this and would absolutely recommend it.

The breeder we got our Staffordshire Bull Terrier from mentioned her dogs love this particular toy so much! I bought one and so did the other 4 littermates! All of them this is a favorite toy. We just adopted a 1 1/2 year old precious All-American Mutt from the ASPCA. Heidi is the size of a small beagle but her coat and markings are amazing. I'd send you a picture but I do not know how to transfer a picture from my iPhone to my PC. Heidi has the strength of a little bulldog and the constant kisses of a new-born puppy. She carries her HOL-EE GIGGLER everywhere she goes, even to bed. It is so easy for her to pick up and carry, it's not too heavy for her either, and you just never ever know when "WHARMMY!!" It makes the craziest sounds and at times it can startle me but they are not creepy sounds; they make you stop what you are doing, and start laughing. It is her favorite toy, move over "Lammy", you just got replaced. Run, oh my, you should see her run the full backyard and it's almost 1/3 of an acre. She will run and jump over things, then just stop, lie down in the grass, catch her breath, and start all over again. Needless to say, she is exhausted afterwards. She will rest, eat her supper and then she's off to sleep for almost the whole evening. HOL-EE GIGLER IS A FABULOUS TOY. We will be buying more for her and our friends. It requires forceful back & forth shaking to make any kind of noise, it doesn't make a sound when thrown or when it lands, plus it needs to hit the ground a certain way in order to bounce, otherwise it lands like a dud. I bought this a day ago. Loaded it with treats and watched my little pup walk it through the living room. Watched little trails of red plastic litter the floor within the first five minutes. My little pup is not a chewer. I have never seen a Kong toy disintegrate ever, never mind crumble like this. You can watch like a hawk… this gyro dog toy will not last 15 minutes.jackinbox
My dogs LOVE this more than any kong toy. They just need to update it to be a sturdy material like the other kong items. It lasted 2-3 months but eventually the dogs tore it to shreds. Literally shreds. I would still re buy it though due to how many hours use we got out of it. But I would rather spend a little more for a better version of this that is just not as prone to being torn up (as other reviewers mentioned and posted pics of, this is eventually what happened to ours, too). I filled with some dog food mixed with some soft training sized treats to really get their attention. Wouldn’t put peanut butter or anything like that in this. Would use it more as a feeder toy with dry or soft treats or food. Not wet though as the hole would be too small for the dogs to be able to get anything like that out. The weighted feeder ball is a great, indestructible similar option to this if you’re needing something to keep them busy for a longer period, it doesn’t break or get torn up, and can be used to feed a full meal as capacity is much bigger. With almost every king toy I always buy up 2 sizes. There’s a lot of reasons but especially due to the smaller ones being easily torn apart. My dogs just prefer the bigger ones anyway. PLEASE NOTE: it’s important to always remove any toys, feeders, bones, or bowls of food if the pup isn’t currently eating, or playing with the item. They’ll learn bad behavior like grazing, guarding, etc. and it can make it very hard for owners to notice when pets are unwell. (Google for more info). This arrived on Friday and by Friday night after my 7 month old Jack Russell Puppy had used it one with kibble in it, it was unsafe. She started to chew little pieces off it and we have had to take it off her. I thought that being a Kong product it would be durable but it wasn't. A little disappointed that it's not as crackly as I'd have expected. I have played with far more crackly dog toys and this one you really have to press into to hear and feel it. I have a toy cavoodle and balls are her favourite. On top of that, she loves anything that squeeks or crackles. I was expecting this to become her new favourite but while she loves that it's bouncy and she can basically play fetch with it herself, the crackling part of it isn't that much of a factor. My pooch loves to bring this to me for tug! (doesn't really use it as a chewer though) We love it! The material has excellent pliability–mouth healthy and so strong, it hasn't punctured or torn, and she's a Mal, so if anyone was going to shred it to pieces, my gal would put it to the test. Also, got one for a Senior Mal, whose teeth and mouth-grip aren't what they used to be (he drops his Kongs now, poor boy) but this? Light–fun–easy on the mouth–a TOTAL WIN for this ole boy! This has become the most favorite of all the toys and the first toy our pup reaches for to play with independently and with us. It is great as a tug toy and light enough to carry happily around in her mouth. This was our first West Paw toy and lets just say we now have 6 of their toys. Our labradoodle loves to play fetch with this toy, plus it floats in the water. Puppy can destroy most toys in minutes but all of our West Paw toys have held up besides the fuzzy yellow toy (it took her months to finally destroy it). 10/10 I would recommend any of these toys.Emily
