This ring was the best investment! My pup goes through most chew toys in minutes as she LOVES to chew. This ring lasted a little over 7 months before she got to the red “safety” layer. I sent it in for the guarantee (paid shipping both ways, around $15) and got a brand new one! My pup has been chomping the new one for almost 2 months and it’s going strong. HIGHLY recommend for pups that love to chew! I want to mention that it is fairly large and heavy (my pup loves to swing it around and it has a somewhat frightening loud drop – but you get used to it). It also smells rubbery (because it’s a really high quality rubber) and now my pup thinks things like erasers are her toys. But with those things in mind this is one of my pup’s favorite toys and I will now forever have a goughnuts (maxx 50) ring for her to chew!lizzie.p
I liked that this chew toy was durable and had some weight to it, but my dog doesn’t play with the toy at all. I believe this is the toy he could not “destroy” and didn’t want anything to do with it. It did have a rubbery smell, so he might have been turned off by that, but it was a waste of money for me. This is an amazing product, tough, good size & well made. Mabel my dog took to it right away….and then…..when it wouldn't break up or fall apart – she wasn't that impressed. HOWEVER – as her other toys are getting ruined & chucked, there is less choice for her & she is having another "go" at the GoughNut. This toy is designed as a “tuff” dog pull and tug toy, but save your money. My friend’s medium- sized dog loved it, but the seams are not well sewn and the toy came apart in several places so quickly that the rest of the toy looked brand new. The fabric frays so badly it would be very hard to repair the tear. I wish I had done some research before I picked this up for my friend. A nice length of heavy rope would have made a better gift. I’d have to find my original receipt and packaging (long gone) and then pay to ship the toy back to Hartz for a refund. Lesson learned. Very disappointing.Judym
This toy is excellent if you don't want stuffing all over your living room floor; however, I think my dogs are only interested in the toys they can destroy. This one is such a challenge they aren't much interested in it. The dog that loves squeakers hasn't squeaked it at all or attempted "surgery" to remove said squeaker like he does other toys. The dog that loves bones and throwing things in the air also showed no interest. Our golden retriever did carry it around a couple of times. She prefers toys/socks that can hang out of her mouth a little floppy-like, but this is pretty stiff. She's also the one that like to tear things up – she didn't attempt to with this toy. First off. Doggie loved the toy. But was ripped open in 5 minutes. Toy got sewn up and Doggo was a bit more gentle for a few weeks but eventually disemboweled it and shredded the rope. It's cute and the outer material seems fairly durable, but the large version isn't really all that large at all. I'm not sure how it's being marketed as a tug toy when there's not really a good place to hold it while my dog is tugging on it. Also, because it's not very long it would be really easy for her to overextend her bite during her tug and wind up nipping my hand. She seems to enjoy carrying it around the house and playing with it on her own, but we definitely won't be using it for a tug toy. As a toy to chew on, I would recommend it as long as the dog wasn't a big chewer (I'm not sure it could hold up well under heavy abuse from a tough chewer), but I would not recommend it as a tug toy.QOTW

I bought this for my miniature Dachshund who loves to tug. He loves and it is very tough and durable when used under supervision. The only downside is the elastic is too strong so I feel he doesn't benefit from reduced jarring of the neck and shoulders. This is my favorite dog toy. I got it used from a friend who's dog had enjoyed it for many years before me, and it was still in great shape. My dog has had it now for three years, and he's very destructive to toys, but this is the only toy he has NOT been able to destroy. He plays with it for hours every day, chewing it viciously. It's full of tooth marks and punctures by now, but none has broken off, and it's still round and fully functional after probably about 15 years of heavy use. Highly recommended.Miriam
I LOVE these toys not only does it put up with my 130 pound (and growing) pup but it also got ran over the other day… by a 30,000 pound zoomboom 🤦♀️ We thought it was done for, it was smushed and in the mud but when we cleaned it off it re-inflated!! No holes or anything! Thank god too because my boy loves his and so does his mini horse friend 😝! My dog likes to pop holes in toys and rip others apart but he never can with this one, he smooshes it so the air makes a sound then it fills back up! Love the toss and tug! My Goldens and Dobies always adore these great floating toys. This toy is NOT a chew toy. Nothing lasts forever. If your dog like to destroy things either monitor them or don't buy this. My dogs love jumping into the pool after them and they last a few years.
