Ball is made of a very durable and hard rubber. The one I bought is bigger than a tennis ball, but my 65lb goldador-newfie pup can hold it in her mouth easily. She enjoys playing fetch with it or catching it when it bounces high in the air. I also like that there is a rather big hole on the side that I use to throw the ball to avoid all the drool or whatever nastiness is on the ground of the dog park. Because it is hard rubber it gets a lot of bounce. I also like to fling it against a concrete wall and it just bounces all over the place. My previous dog chewed everything and successfully destroyed everything, EXCEPT the Kong Ball. He never was able to even make a mark. We have a new dog who also likes to eat everything but again has failed to damage it in any way. It has a great bounce to it and she loves it. Env: development I have two dogs that love all things ball shaped – tennis balls, soccer balls, basketballs, etc. The only problem with their ball obsession is that they destroy them. Sometimes in minutes. Tennis balls are cheap enough to replace, but they can wear on their teeth and cause damage. Other balls pose a choking or obstruction hazard because the dogs will tear them into pieces and potentially swallow them. I started to feel like I was running out of safe options to satisfy their obsession and then I discovered the Kong Ball. I picked one up for the dogs one day when I saw them at the local feed store. It was a little pricey, but I figured, if it was as durable as it claimed, it'd pay off in the long run. And it has. It's been 8 months, and while the ball shows a little wear and tear, it's still in one piece, and the dogs have great fun with it. The only con is that it's not very bouncy, and it's a little too heavy for playing fetch with, but if you roll it for them to chase that seems to satisfy them. Definitely worth the money! My German Shepherd x Malinois LOVES these balls the most. I bought several different styles to trial with her, as she is very fussy when it comes to her toys. She doesn't like the Kong frisbees which are too heavy and don't give her time to fly into the air to catch them – they plop to the ground too quickly, unlike our plastic ones which are brilliant at flying, but wear out more quickly – can't win! But the Kong balls on the other hand, we find are terrific. This is my third time buying these, only because we lost one and she won't let go of the one I bought her last week, so I am hoping that with another one, she'll learn to let go and stop being such a ball hog. She has baby Velociraptor teeth, so her will usually destroy all toys over time (some quicker than others) even though she's not a destructive dog by nature – just in terms of general wear-and-tear from chewing and play, but these balls for some reason, do last (the squeaker in them doesn't though – it's dead in a day, thank goodness, as it does drive me nuts when she's biting on it all day long and it's squeaking the heck out of the house – so that's actually a plus for her human hahaha). I think depending on the dog, you'll find different reviews, but this product is definitely a winner in our household at least and though a bit pricey for what it is, it's still the better option compared to others we've trialed.Jo

This toy is the BEST THING EVER. I didn’t know it squeaked until after we started playing with it and OH BOY we have had loads of fun with it ever since. My dogs love this ball so much that I’m getting another one because they constantly fight over it! It’s a great ball for fetch as well as a great chew toy. I bought one of these (in a size large, not sure if the sizing has anything to do with the issue) about 4 months ago and it has lasted really really well! The only reason I decided to replace it was because for some reason the squeaker stopped working. I think my dog may have punctured a hole in it or something. That being said, I didn't have any issues that these other negative reviews have said happened to them and my dog destroys EVERYTHING. He gets his little mouth on a seam or a defect or anything like that and he goes to town until it is in pieces in minutes. So, like I said the large ball lasted 4 months.. but I just bought him an XL ball and received it today. It's been… about 4 hours now and he has almost completely torn the middle out of the ball! I use a Chukit quite regularly to throw balls for my vizsla, but the orange balls don't last very long due to cracking. I bought one of these hoping it would fit and I could use the Chukit to throw it. Slightly loose, but it works well. This is solid ball and will last long. It doesn't bounce as well as the orange balls and is quite a bit heavier, but it still floats in the pool.Ronbo

I bought the large ball for my boxer cross and my husky cross. The boxer had the outer layer destroyed in 30min. In the product description it literally tells you "stands-up to long-lasting chew sessions". 30 minutes is not what I would consider a "long-lasting chew session" considering my boxer has had his rubber "Kong Extreme" for 4 years. 4 Years vs 30min. My puppy is really selective on the balls she likes. She loves the chuck it ultra squeaker and that ball lasts one time at the dog park before it’s destroyed! I’m trying to find another ball that’s she’ll love, that will last! I’m pretty sure it could be this one… I do know that a lot of the other dogs at the park love it, because it’s soft and squishy. Like others said, the squeaker didn’t last longer than a few moments and that’s what entices them to play. My number one recommendation for this ball… MAKE IT A DIFFERENT COLOR!!! PROS: durable squeaker, favorite squeaker ball for my pitbull. It can still have a hole and squeak! CONS: if you own a pitbull, this is not the chew time squeaker. I learned the hardway and realized that when it comes to chew time; pitbulls are murderous to toys with a passion. You needed a bigger size. Generally, I would recommend sizing up once or twice anyway. The smaller ones are too small and not as thick of material therefore easier for any size dog to tear up. Additionally, if the toy isn’t full of snacks, take it away. Don’t let them chew on the toy itself just as a chew toy. That is another reason why the toy may get damaged. If the dog is focused on getting the snack out, they’ll be much less focused on destructive behaviors and tearing things apart. If you have a puppy, remember they teethe and it HURTS. They self sooth by chewing. Give them things it’s okay to chew on/destroy like Nyla bones (which seriously last forever even in strong determined breeds). Last thing to mention, is that if you really want to go with indestructible, prefer something that’ll keep them busy for a lot longer periods of time, then get the weighted feeder kong balls. I put some dog food into ours along with some soft small very strong smelling treats and my dogs work on this for HOURS. It’s how they get their meals or at least part of their meal each day. You can fed the whole meal this way if you want. They come in different sizes but the biggest size has worked perfectly for all of my dogs (weights range from 35 to 150lbs). They knock it over and the snack or treat falls out of a little hole. Then they keep working on it little by little, it’s really a great option for keeping them distracted! Just be sure to take it away when they’re not using it anymore so they don’t learn to guard it. This is true with any toy, treat, bone, or food. Offer a few times a day then take away when they’re no longer interested. Free feeding is one of the worst habits to start and makes it difficult for owners to tell quickly when something is off with their pet. I learned this the hard way! (Google this if you don’t believe me) I would still consider these Kong balls to be indestructible IF you use them properly. I have huge, strong dogs, a sharp toothed and very busy heeler and both have had theirs for 4 years without incident and not even a puncture mark into either one. I filled with “mini” milk bones and broken in half “small” milk bones but just read another reviewer said they freeze theirs with pnut butter and treats inside. Amazing! Amazing at entertainment for my dog. Love how we can stick big treats in there and keep him busy whenever we have to leave the house. I think it's a must for training your dog. Be sure to replace it whenever there is damage. As I know a friend's dog had a piece of Kong stuck in his intestine and had to get surgery to remove it. So best to keep the toy until you notice any wear or tear. I like how it has multiple sizes and has really good durability.. this is a really good investment for your dog! We have found many creative ways to entertain our husky/German shep/malamute mutt who has high energy and high affinity to treats. 10/10 would recommend. There's also some Kong specific treats you can find meant to fit into the toy to make it very difficult for the dog to remove it. We like that there is a lot of creative ways to use it. We had two on rotation for when our puppy was teething and needed a lot of attention. Frozen treats allowed for the pup to work on the kong. We use it at home mainly but we do bring it over to our friends house when our dog is staying the night because we are out of town. It's just another tool they can use if they find he needs to calm down and focus instead of rambunctious and playing.terri.n

This is the old classic rubber Kong dog toy. I have the regular size and the small size for my boxer and for my Boston terrier. Its shape causes it to bounce in random directions. My dog absolutely loves this toy. I've put everything in that thing. I have broken up some single ingredient treats and stuffed them in Kong. We refer to my dogs as having ADHD, or a very SHORT attention span, but not with this toy they absolutely love it!! . I put treats as well as peanut butter bananas or yogurt then put them in the freezer. The freezing slows down their ability to clean out the inside quickly so the game lasts a little longer. The rubber is hard enough so they cannot chew through it yet soft on their teeth and gums. The hole is large enough to easily fill the inside as well as wash out the inside after use. Definitely buy multiples so that there are some in the freezer ready to go on those hot days or on those days that you just need a little time to get something done while your dog is occupied. All in all I completely recommend these toys for all dogs of any shape and size.Ysabel

This is my 3rd Kong ball. My dog Loves the Medium/Large size. Unfortunately, the way they have the sizing, they have medium/large and large/extra large. The lg/extra lg is a bit too big for my 35 lb dog and I ordered it by accident seeing only the word “large.” Once Petco accepts returns in store again, I will be taking it back. I’ve purchased the med/lg size now as well as purchasing one for a friend. Took away one star for that confusing sizing. I bought this to replace a medium version that had been completely trashed. Unfortunately this hasn’t been as robust as I had hoped. The squeak broke almost immediately, followed by the disc where it is located. I only allow ‘supervised’ use, but it was done and dusted within about half an hour’s playtime (2 x 15 minute sessions). She hasn’t managed to remove the tennis ball yet, so we are still enjoying it and I do believe there is a limit to what I can expect given my dog’s size/breed. I’m sorry but I would not recommend this. Within about 3 hours of my dogs eating this stuff’n they got sick. I have two black labs and we love the Kong toys. I had always put peanut butter or other things in the toy until I tried this. I put it in the toy, they played and within 3 hours BOTH of my babies were sick. I could hear their stomachs rumbling and they had horrible diarrhea. They both looked so pitiful. It passed in about 1.5-2 hours but I was so upset I had given them something that made them so sick. Looking for a treat dispensing toy for my Jack Russell that wouldn't instantly be destroyed by one of the other dogs in the house, the material is the hard rubber material that the other main Kong toys are made out of instead of easily chewed plastic which was exactly what I was looking for. my dog loves it and so far hasn't chewed it apart so great buy, brilliant for use when i'm busy round the house or just chilling out, keeps him entertained for ages rolling it for the treats and chewing the outside to help clean his teeth. I bought this a day ago. Loaded it with treats and watched my little pup walk it through the living room. Watched little trails of red plastic litter the floor within the first five minutes. My dogs LOVE this more than any kong toy. They just need to update it to be a sturdy material like the other kong items. It lasted 2-3 months but eventually the dogs tore it to shreds. Literally shreds. I would still re buy it though due to how many hours use we got out of it. But I would rather spend a little more for a better version of this that is just not as prone to being torn up (as other reviewers mentioned and posted pics of, this is eventually what happened to ours, too). I filled with some dog food mixed with some soft training sized treats to really get their attention. Wouldn’t put peanut butter or anything like that in this. Would use it more as a feeder toy with dry or soft treats or food. Not wet though as the hole would be too small for the dogs to be able to get anything like that out. The weighted feeder ball is a great, indestructible similar option to this if you’re needing something to keep them busy for a longer period, it doesn’t break or get torn up, and can be used to feed a full meal as capacity is much bigger. With almost every king toy I always buy up 2 sizes. There’s a lot of reasons but especially due to the smaller ones being easily torn apart. My dogs just prefer the bigger ones anyway. PLEASE NOTE: it’s important to always remove any toys, feeders, bones, or bowls of food if the pup isn’t currently eating, or playing with the item. They’ll learn bad behavior like grazing, guarding, etc. and it can make it very hard for owners to notice when pets are unwell. (Google for more info). This arrived on Friday and by Friday night after my 7 month old Jack Russell Puppy had used it one with kibble in it, it was unsafe. She started to chew little pieces off it and we have had to take it off her. I thought that being a Kong product it would be durable but it wasn't. Let’s just say he loves his balls! Anything round he will chase, doesn’t matter how big or small. But the best ones are the ones that can fit in his mouth, and these are perfect for him. None of the rubber balls ever break apart or are ripped by him despite him playing with it everyday. I’d say he is not a heavy/strong chewer, more on the light/weak side, which makes them last a long time. Why a 4 Star if you say he loves it so much?? That is because the squeakers in them are weak or perhaps I just got a defective one. Apparently, All the squeaks in the balls were working. Then once I gave to him one of the balls, 5min later the squeaker broke inside. A little disappointed that it's not as crackly as I'd have expected. I have played with far more crackly dog toys and this one you really have to press into to hear and feel it. I have a toy cavoodle and balls are her favourite. On top of that, she loves anything that squeeks or crackles. I was expecting this to become her new favourite but while she loves that it's bouncy and she can basically play fetch with it herself, the crackling part of it isn't that much of a factor. This is the best entertainment for Our dog Hunter. My husband cuts sweet potato treats to put in the ball and Hunter plays hard to get the treats out. We don?t know why he does it but he tosses his ball on his bed and then pulls and pushes his bed with the ball holding the treats until he gets tired of playing that way, then pushes the ball around until he gets all treats out of the ball. Both my cats and dogs enjoy the Kong Rewards treat/food balls. I put a small amount of treat/food in them and they are entertained until all of it is gone. The rope measured 30cm. I was expecting much bigger from the picture. Ball attachment bounces well and has taken next to no damage from my heaviest chewing clients. Kongs are great dog toys, unless you have serious chewers in your four-legged family. The holes in this biscuit ball make it easier for extreme chewers to tear apart. I have a English Lab and this would be his 3rd Kong toy. I have: 1. The old fashioned Kong (looks sort of like a michelin man in red) 2. The Small solid Red Kong Ball. I have a Pomeranian and we have always struggled to get her into playing fetch with balls or just her playing with them in general because they’re typically too large for her little mouth. But these ones are the perfect size! I have never found smaller tennis balls for dogs. They are obviously too small for a dog over even just 15 lbs. They would just eat them. The BEST doggy tennis balls, ever! I’ve tried cheaper brands as well as, actual tennis balls and nothing compares to the Kong brand dog toys. My dog Bubba is very hard on his toys. In less than a day he’ll have punctured and tore up the cheap stuff, but with Kong, his toys have lasted forever. These balls are a favorite of our dogs. They love tennis balls but seem to destroy them within moments after a game of fetch. We found our husky to be more destructive when she took the balls into the house after playing outside with them, excited for new balls each time and playing with them until there is nothing left, so when we had seen others with the Kong balls at the dog park, we decided to give them a try and have been purchasing them for the past few years since. My dogs love these. Not going to lie, when I first purchased these, I didn’t really understand how they worked. I would fill with treats then feel disappointed when it only entertained my dogs 10 minutes. I have since adopted a hyperactive Labrador; while researching ways to calm him down, kongs kept coming up in the blogs. I watched some videos on how to use them for training purposes and have learned how to stuff them in a way that keeps my dogs entertained for a long time. I use a combination of kibble, canned dog food, and other healthy food options, layer it all in the Kong, then freeze. My dogs are stupid excited to see me pull these out of the freezer. I always buy a size larger than I think I need to ensure my dogs don’t choke or get their tongues stuck and that’s worked out great. Very happy with these, we have about 12 of them. My dogs had this for about a year. He’s a 22 lb Italian Greyhound mix who isn’t destructive (the pic attached is him 🥰). I included this information because I can’t vouch for the durability if you have a chewer. The material seems durable though. It does have a rubber smell that is kind of annoying and it takes a long time to go away. If you’re sensitive to smell you might want to avoid this. It seems to smell the most like rubber when you wash it. It’s easy to wash. I use a little bit of dish soap and hot water to wash it after every use. You don’t have to use the Kong spray in this. You can fill it up with whatever treat/food you want.simply.b
