I bought this after reading it thinking it would work and it didn’t even kill the fleas. It’s not like my dog was covered in fleas because I take very good care of my dog. I would not recommend this product to anyone it didn’t even work at all.97girl

I bought the advantus yesterday. My babies loved them. I paid $54.99 plus tax $4.54 bringing the grand total to $59.53. Now let's break it down $59.53 divided by 30 days of the month that's a $1.98 per day to protect your baby. I do agree it could have had a lot more stuff to help with the fleas & ticks. Now the reason I said it won't work for me, is because I have 21 babies so instead of buying 1 bottle a month I would be buying 3 1/2 bottles. Now that's serious money, just bathe in dawn dish soap. mist them with a flea and tick spray before they go out to potty your good to go. I gave three stars because I bought it yesterday. First, let me state that I was unsure of this product before it arrived, not only because of the amazing price but because I've tried many different flea pills, chews and the liquid forms and none of them seemed to help at all. I have three large dogs and bought a bottle of 30 chews, geared towards smaller to medium size dogs, for around $29 and some change. Normally even after a bath, once my Dogs go outside, fleas are going to jump all over them. We've treated our yard but not only are there many strays in the area, not all of our neighbors treat their dogs or yards. I have given them each 1 chew daily since I got the first bottle, almost on the second bottle now and not one flea has been found alive on them! And very few dead ones, that we've found on their coats. No side effects so far (thankfully) and seemingly this product works extremely well, in my opinion. Absolutely useless product. I am aware this is only useful for 24 hours. My dog enjoyed eating it as a treat but other than that it's useless! It did absolutely nothing in 24 hours if anything it seemed like it made it worse! All it seemed to do was irritate the fleas and make them bite more! Also another thing to note after taking this my dogs were extremely extremely thirsty like I've never seen before! Please beware and don't waste your money on this useless product like I did pay the extra 20 dollars and go buy a soresto collar.V

My poor boy. The fleas love him. I can give him a flea bath every day and he's still infested. After trying daily baths, over the counter remides treating my yard and topical treatments, nothing worked so I decided to try a oral treatment. I swear by this. After one treatment I would find fleas on my bed (he jumps up on my bed when I'm not looking because I didn't want to share his unwanted friends) my blanket was covered…. of dead or dying fleas. 1 TREATMENT people. I wanted this to work so bad because my dog is highly allergic to fleas and shreds himself up even when he has the topical flea prevention. Even if a dog around him has fleas he breaks out (our neighbor dog has fleas so my poor pup get around them). I saw this and wanted to try to give him some relief to my itchy pooch. The first day, I saw 3 fleas on my dog and purposefully left them on there to see if it worked. I came back in an hour and they were still there. I figured since it says up to 4 hrs I would wait. Later in the day I checked him, fleas still there. So I thought may it took some time for his body to get accustomed to it. The next day same story, he went outside in the morning I checked him saw he has some fleas, gave him a pill checked him about an hour and a half later, fleas are still having a party. Let it set for the rest of the afternoon and checked him before dinner, still the fleas are alive and kicking. 3rd day same story. At this point I can see it isn’t working and I wasted the $25 it costs for it. At least I didn’t spend the $50 for the month. Look at the reviews and notice several of us back to back have rated it the same so obviously something is wrong here. Avoid and save your money and spend it on the more expensive one!Kate

It's very distressing to find 3 happy engorged ticks on your dog 24 hours after treatment following all the requirements re: proper placement location on the dog, shaved the hair to make contact only on the skin, no water on the dog for 24 hours or at all after treatment. I was frankly, pretty shocked. This is an older small dog with arthritis. He is already in some pain and to find the ticks on him on top of this frankly really upset me. And they were not dead or dying. They were about to drop off likely after laying eggs on my dog. It used to work and now it does not–at all. I will require a refund.Dog Mom245

I breed Chihuahuas and I also foster cats/kittens. My Chihuahuas are litter box trained so they rarely get fleas because they dont spend a whole lot of time outside. Even when we go for walks, theyre in a dog stroller lol. Anyways… I fostered a litter of kittens that were found outside and covered in fleas. I gave them all dawn baths because they were too small for any flea medicine and my Chihuahuas ended up with fleas. I needed a product that was safe for pregnant/ nursing mama which frontline is. Finally something that works consistently. After trying probably 10-15 brands of flea and tick stuff for my Dogs this is the company I come back to. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. I ordered online last night and picked it up at Petco store this afternoon. It worked well for my dog(24 lb)! I needed something effective product to kill flea after unsuccessful flea shampoo and spray. I and my family got many flea bites as well. I gave my dog a pill tonight. I was expecting to see many fleas drop on the floor but it didn’t. However, 1 hour later I brushed her and found few dead fleas on her body. She is sleeping very well tonight without scratching. First of all, NEVER diss the value of a vet check: your pet , cat or dog, has to be healthy enough for ANY correctly used flea remedies. Yes, vets need to stay in business and some of their prices are quite higher than some reputable online sellers offer. This product alone will not end your flea-festation if it is bad. Fleas spend only a tiny portion of their time on the animal- otherwise they're in your carpets, cracks, furniture, yards- but fleas do normally "dine" twice a day. Giving this oral pill once daily will START to deal with your problem, killing each flea that bites within 24 hours. Nitenpyram is used for both dogs and cats. * Once your cat is cleared for this medication, and weighs at least 3 pounds, it is cost saving to BREAK one 57mg( packaged for Dogs over 25 pounds) tablet into 4 quarters and use one of these quarters for a cat. The normal cat dosage is only 11mg/ the quarter is 14.25mg, not a substantial difference, in fact some vets sell this product this way- at $6-10 per quarter. You do the math. To truly "treat" a severe flea infestation will require your washing all pet bedding, treating carpets, floors, yards- each with diffetent products which each have very specific safety instructions for your pets and family and must be followed to the letter. i got these for my 85 lb dog. seems like it helps he doesnt itch as much after use. i see no fleas.i used the smaller sized dog 1 on my 10lb dog it worked too. you have to 30 day treat. i have 3 dogs and a cat all wear seresto collars but still got fleas somehow ,so since the collars allow to treat with topicals i used advantage plus on all 4. they still have fleas. im using these on top of all that and check my dogs weekly. keep coming up with 4 fleas on 1 dog and 8 on my cat. i dont understand why none of these products are working. the vet says fleas are immune. hows that possible?! id say if this doesnt seem to be working cause you see fleas it probably is but not killing the eggs so its repeat the process. plus do your house. rugs hardwood floors too. why the $80 topicalslhayes

I purchase this product for my 13 year old – 5 pound 2 ounce Chihuahua. I started purchasing from Petmeds because my Vet has been having supply issues, and wanting to change my Fur babies medication to different medications every month to every 3 months. Considering my Fur babies age and possible complications in constant changing of medications I decided that Petmeds was a better option for our Family. I also like that there are some savings involved with purchasing from Petmeds than purchasing from my Vet. Petmeds also includes a treat for my Fur baby, however I do have to break it into several smaller pieces. I have 2 very picky dogs, whom despite not having table food, turn their noses up at a LOT of treats, and meals. I had to cancel a subscription box I had for them because they only liked the toys and not the treats. I also have tried many different oral flea meds and the same thing, they will not eat it, no matter how I try to mask it in cheese or chicken, they could just smell it. With these, it doesn't have that chemical/grassy smell, and I have no issues giving it to them wrapped in chicken. They don't like to eat it by itself, but if I leave it on the floor long enough, they will eventually eat it. Since I have 2 dogs, I can't just leave it there in case one of them eats both doses so I wrap it in some chicken and they gobble it right up. I was on frontline for years but when I thought I saw a couple fleas on my dogs in September 2020, I decided to make a switch to Advantage II for my cats and Advantix II for my dogs— BIGGEST mistake of my life (seriously, like over any horrible exes). I have $515.97 in receipts I submitted to the company (which was as horrible as the experience, which I will get to) and spent an additional $70 in store (in which I cannot find the receipt) since September 2020 to December. I followed every tip on the website and insert and my animals were still covered. I applied perfectly. I applied initially weekly, vacuum daily, steam cleaned, wash bedding constantly, etc. I don’t even have carpet but on the stairs and have treated the stairs and couches with Predcor. I even bought those flea traps with the sticky bottoms. I am not including any of this in that total I spent– that was all on the flea medications themselves for the 6 animals. I have saved some, not all, of the vials so on 11/13 I called Elanco. They denied my request for any type of refund. They questioned my exact dosage dates and frequency more than a doctor wants to know about your menstrual cycles but I took my best guesses, for all 6 animals although I did know what schedule they were on but didn't have it in front of me. Then they said that the product was probably not working because I bathed my dogs initially at the beginning 48 hours before application?? Their website TELLS you to bathe them before application (see 2nd screenshot posted)! I stopped bathing them after the 2nd application as it wasn't working and the dogs were miserable and only tried 2 cats (and really only 1 successfully because we all know how that goes). They then told me that I didn't give the product long enough?? Their website states (see 3rd screenshot) and is the same for Advantage II "K9 Advantix® II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks." I tried their products, $600 worth on 6 animals, as scheduled, no missed doses for 4 months. I can’t blame it on just one animal or one batch—it didn’t work on 6, or one batch! I am very upset. Not only have I wasted money on these but I have bought corresponding products, sprays for the beddings, flea traps, etc. I FINALLY called Terminex and had to spend 12 hours clearing out under my beds, closets, getting everything off my floors, moving furniture etc. (time I will never get back) and getting my children and pets out of the house and went back to the brand that works: FRONTLINE! NO MORE FLEAS– what I should have done in the first place. We bought Advantix liquid application anti-flea and tick treatment because it is effective, was less expensive and did not require a prescription. We had easily and successfully used liquid Advantix for years with our Plott hound mix. We now have a beagle. Beagle hair is different; it's thick, coarse, oily, kind of water proof and difficult to part in order to properly apply the liquid to the skin. Advantix is a very good product, but pet owners may want to assess their pet's coat to determine how the liquid application could be applied.Gary

My dog was getting ticks so I purchased this. I have used it in the past with great success when it had the Bayer logo on it . The one I received has the Elanco brand logo on it. I used 1 bottle and It was like I used nothing at all. Mind you I walk my dog and when he comes in the house I would find 2 or 3 live ticks walking on him. So I figured ok maybe it didnt work or I didnt wait long enough. After about 10 days of this I applied another bottle and again nothing. He still kept coming in the house with ticks every time. I am finding Bravecto to be 100% effective at killing ticks before they suck blood, even before they attach. I know it's working because I'm brushing dead (flat) ticks out of my dogs' fur. When I used Frontline and Advantix I was constantly picking engorged ticks from my dogs. Maybe the ticks would have died EVENTUALLY, but they were having quite a ride in the meantime, and dogs were getting itchy, unpleasant wounds. They downside of Bravecto: Theoretically, if your dog has a bad reaction to it, you can't wash it off, like you could with the topical formulas. I have 3 dogs and none of them had any reaction at all, so I haven't faced that problem. We live in an area with lots of ticks and a very high incidence of Lyme disease, so I am willing to take the risk. So far so good!doghairstew

I've used this product for almost 3 weeks. And she's got more fleas now than she did to begin with. I gave her a bath and there were what looked like hundreds of fleas in the water. While she was in the water I picked quite a few off of her by hand. Two or three times a week, I get her down and pick them off. Do not give to small dogs especially non spayed females In 2020 gave our 2 small dogs flea away within a month the smallest dog developed swelling and lumps in her mamory gland which quickly developed into cancerous tumor she died within 2mos. These did not help my dogs when it came to ticks. My dogs live on our farm, so we have no fleas. They were already on a monthly prescription heartworm medication, and have always tested negative. I used this product this last season for my dog and he never got flees. I feel so much better using natural stuff than chemicals on him. It was very affordable. I am not someone who takes my dogs health lightly. I try to use natural products as much as possible. We had a tick outbreak and everything I tried did not work. I bought these drops for all the dogs. Put it on. Took about 3 days to completely soak into the coat but ticks have been unable to attach which is great. Over the last few days there have been less and less. These drops along with Diatomaceous Earth spread around the corners of the house and all the beds is doing the trick. I bought this product earlier this week. I read the instructions and made sure that my dog met the weight requirements for the product. It worked the first day. She stopped itching and biting. I've been using petarmor for quite a few years now, and not ever an issue, would find a dead flea once in a while. now this new order I received, first dose and both my dogs are having anywhere from 4-7 fleas everyday on each of them. Bathed my shih tzu in dawn and removed 6 fleas with a flea comb. Let her dry. Checked and re checked her to make sure she had no fleas. Applied Pet Armor at 7pm. I needed to use this product for some time to appreciate its abilities. My dog likes to spend time outside rolling around and doing dog things. This leads to her coming into the house, tracking dirt and the pesky fleas. We've done well to mitigate it in the past, but PetArmor helped in the process. Within a few days, we noticed that she would not be scratchy when coming back into the house, then we didn't have to treat her bedding as much. Very nice! In the past, I have given my dog oral medication to prevent flea and ticks. It worked well but I was never comfortable with the fact that he had to ingest the medicine. I decided we’d use a topical solution for this summer and this is working great so far. The application was easy and the the applicator worked well. I’ve had to apply a different brand on foster puppies in the past and sometimes, the liquid would just all flow right out during the first contact, leaving no medicine for the rest of the dog’s back. It wasn’t the case with PetArmor. I had good control to dispense the product with their applicator. My dog had no discomfort whatsoever on the application sites. The product didn’t leave his coat all oily or smelly. I love that you can scan a QR code in the box and the brand will send a text 30 days later as a reminder for when the next dose is due. Their formula contains Fipronil and (S)-methoprene like most expensive well-known brands but at a more affordable cost. I am hesitant to use these types of products compulsively for preventive measures. Fortunately, We’ve not been in an area where fleas are out of control outside, as we have had problems in the past with other pets. These types of topical medicines would only be effective for a maximum of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks at best. And then our previous dog, and coincidentally our cat also, developed tumors where these types of medicines were being applied. I can’t say for certain that they were the cause. But it’s very suspicious that it happened in both animals. The dog we noticed first. And maybe a year or so later our cat. They both lived to past 11 years. And our dog was also on meds for epilepsy. Only briefly because he would spit out the meds no matter how clever I thought I was in hiding them. So, since he refused to take them, I stopped trying to make him. His grand mal seizures were frequent and long lasting. But, he just got better at spitting out the pills, even if I shoved them down his throat. i have only had to use these topicals a few times in our current dogs short life, so far. And it seemed to work fine and for as long as it said it was supposed to work. And when she or we seem a bit more itchy, I apply it again, and wait until it’s “needed”, again- as opposed to routinely scheduled once every month. And in my opinion, it works better than capstar, which is meant as a short acting topical to immediately relieve a flea problem getting out of control. But for whatever reason, this works better for us, even though it might take a few days to really notice results. (I never really noticed immediate results with. Capstar. I absolutely loved this for my fur babies! What I DID NOT love was that like this past year, flea/tick season was so weird! Twice I found LIVE TICKS on me, after loving up on my baby boy, Lizard. (Male black n white cat) He is an indoor/outdoor baby, but I haven't ever had a problem like this until now. Worth mentioning, my female brindle colored cat also had irritation from this year's applications. She has to have prednisone each day, along with a topical treatment, otherwise she's in agony from inflammation and itching! I am NOT stating that it was the fault of this brand. This is a great product that works for my little Papillion. I was first introduced to Vectra by his veterinarian. He would bite himself ripping and pulling his hair out by the roots. This year my baby spent a week away, and he came back with bite marks and constantly itching. After a cutdown and a bath with pet meds shampoo and conditioner; I Called 1800-Petmeds. They overnight Frontline Gold at a very cheap price in comparison to other big name companies. Within 30minutes my baby stopped itching. From 11:40am this morning, it’s now 11:53 pm absolutely no issues of itching or whining. He’s back to his old jolly self. I did not find this formula to be any more effective or easier to use than the normal formula and if it is not opened correctly, it will spill and be wasted. It's very distressing to find 3 happy engorged ticks on your dog 24 hours after treatment following all the requirements re: proper placement location on the dog, shaved the hair to make contact only on the skin, no water on the dog for 24 hours or at all after treatment. I was frankly, pretty shocked. This is an older small dog with arthritis. He is already in some pain and to find the ticks on him on top of this frankly really upset me. And they were not dead or dying. They were about to drop off likely after laying eggs on my dog. It used to work and now it does not–at all. I will require a refund.Dog Mom245

I breed Chihuahuas and I also foster cats/kittens. My Chihuahuas are litter box trained so they rarely get fleas because they dont spend a whole lot of time outside. Even when we go for walks, theyre in a dog stroller lol. Anyways… I fostered a litter of kittens that were found outside and covered in fleas. I gave them all dawn baths because they were too small for any flea medicine and my Chihuahuas ended up with fleas. I needed a product that was safe for pregnant/ nursing mama which frontline is. All my fellow breeders that I know also use this product on their dogs. Once I treated my dogs, I havent seen any fleas since!kala

Finally something that works consistently. After trying probably 10-15 brands of flea and tick stuff for my Dogs this is the company I come back to. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Within 30 minutes they are jumping off to get away and die. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. This stuff not only took care of the fleas on the dogs and cats but the ones in the house would jump on the dogs would die to. Havent had an issue since.Corvet08

I am seeing reviews that have me wondering what people expect? Maybe read up on everything fully before complaining? Yes, you will still see fleas every time your dog goes outside if there are fleas out there. They will pick them up on walks and even at pet stores! They come I to your yard on other animals and on their own. Frontline is NOT a repellent. You also need to make sure you gollow the directions for application! Wait at LEAST 48hrs to apply if you have bathed tour dog as it travels via their natural skin oils and they need time to develop if they have been stripped away by soap/shampoo, as well as making sure you wait at least a week before bathing them after it is applied and make sure it is either a gentile baby shampoo or a ph balanced dog shampoo that does not have skin drying agents and says it is approved for use with flea treatment. Most good dog shampoo is these days. Dogs really shouldn't get more than one full bath (deep scrub) a month when possible. We use a natural ph balenced for dogs waterless shampoo in between baths as well as sensitive skin baby wipes if needed. If you live in areas with fleas outside (especially warmer, dry states like Oklahoma and Texas) they WILL get on your pet. However, they die after exposure to the Frontline, it usually takes about 24-48hrs to notice a difference when you first start using it if your dog is already infested. If you have a flea issue in your area then I recommend treatment of your yard as well! We had to treat our yard every summer and fall for the first 4 yrs we were here as the people next door to us have 3 dogs, chickens (in town smh) and other animals and I do not know if they use any kind of treatment and the people that lived in our house before us had 4 dogs and I do not think they used treatment at all because it was a nightmare in our backyard the first 2-3 years fighting them after we moved in. We have been here for 6yrs now and haven't had to treat our yard for the past year or two and we only have to apply Frontline every other month on our dog now. I still see a few fleas here or there once in a while at the beginning of summer (in our yard) and throughout fall usually (on our dog) if we have been out to the lake or to the park or something but that's all. That tells me that Frontline still works just fine. Anyone that has ever dealt with a true flea infestation knows the difference! They reproduce so fast that your whole house is overrun before you even realize they are a problem, literally in a month if left untreated they are everywhere, on furniture, all over your house, on you even, to the point you end up having to bug bomb your entire house (been there done that our first summer here, it was insane! I had never seen anything like it before). We have been using Frontline since on our 74lb dog(just the up to 88lb one), after extensive research on everything out there for flea control including the oral types our vet carries I still maintain that Frontline Plus is the absolute safest choice for those of us that do not like using things like pesticides/chemicals on ourselves, our yard or our pets unless absolutely necessary and prefer natural remedies when possible. Unfortunately, flea treatment is not one of those things you can go chemical free on. However this stuff is safer and harder to overdose than many of the other options and we will continue to use it!AW82

I've used for about 1 year now and for the most of thenyear it worked well. But the other day I found THREE engorged and 1 non-engorged tick on my dog! We also treat our yard and even our woods around our yard. But this still happened! I contacted my vet concerned for my dogs health. And she was telling me they've had alot of complaints about Frontline lately. Its like the ticks have built up immunity to their specific strength/ingredients. I've used this since we quit using flea collars (years ago) Over the years we have used nothing but Front Line. We live in a rural area with wild animals around. I've used it on puppies, kittens, Labradors and dogs weighing only 7 pounds! It is absolutely the best as I never have had a problem with fleas or ticks. I also have never had any animal show any signs of a bad reaction. I've never used any other product because I've never needed to!April
