This is a purchase that I can conclude as a lesson learnt. I purchased this product because it was smaller than my other pet unit which allowed it for portability when traveling. The turf itself is okay quality, easy to clean and drains correctly. However, the middle draining tray is not designed at all to work at all. The urine just collects on top of the drain tray because the holes and bumps aren't in a functional area and it barely drains to the lower tray. It is made from a texture that soaks up the urine instead of allowing it to flow off and threw, therefore it collects oder, collects urine that won't wash/scrub off, it can't be cleaned properly and all that waste causes the material to break down. When I say break down, I mean in ever sense. It starts to break off in pieces. Every time I clean the product, more peices fall off and it gets smaller and smaller. Basically, this product does not work. I learned that I should stick with what works and not take chances of cheaper off brand products. Even though the size of my other potty unit is less portable, it actually works! My cat Zeppole has had issues pooping since I got him. I have been putting little pumpkin and Miralax in his food and no more dry food for him. One of our rescue cats needed an enema under anaesthetic to relieve an impacted bowel. The operation changed her. She hardly went out, was nervous and not herself. It took 3 months for her to recover. Our 8 week old puppy took to this immediately. We live in a condo so we needed a solution to let our puppy ***** safely before she's fully vaccinated. There's no "Safe space" outside where we can take her that other dogs wouldn't have gone already. I had no idea if it would be hard initially to get her used to it, but we plopped her down on it as soon as we brought her home and she went *** right away. We had to re-direct her a couple of times during the **** sniff, but after a few times she knew this was her ***** spot. Doesn't mean she was ***** trained that quickly 🙂 but she knew when we put her there that it was her spot to go. 3 weeks later, this is the best thing we could have done. Having to take a puppy out every 15-20 minutes living in a condo would have been a nightmare. We keep it on our patio which is fairly large, and I never smell anything. I've ordered a 2nd one to keep in my car so when I take her places (carrying her only ), I can stick her down on the "safe grass" so she doesn't have to hold it the entire time. I will probably keep one on our patio well beyond when I can take her outside also, for early morning and late night *****'s, until she's old enough not to go so frequently. My 6 year old long-haired chihuahua Choco is pad trained, but we've been having this issue where he steps on his fresh *** and tracks it all over the apartment floor, making me mop the floor multiple times a day. *** pads also don't do a great job with odor control, so it was time to look for an alternative. Bought this product the next day after bringing my 8 week old puppy home. I was clueless on how to potty train using potty pads. I attempted to potty train the first day, but it just wasn’t happening. The second day, I went out to purchase this spray to give it a try. I sprayed the potty pad focusing more towards the center of the pad and sure enough the next time my pup needed to potty, he went straight to the pad. 1 week later, he still has his occasional accidents however they are right next to the pad. I have sprayed every potty pad since purchasing and I’d say it was worth the money. I have yet to come home to “surprises” anywhere in the room besides in the area of his potty pads. I was so disappointed in this spray. After just a couple of days, the bottle sprayer would no longer spray. I tried cleaning it, etc. and nothing. I eventually put it into another spray bottle and again, it worked a couple of times and now, nothing. I have to open the bottle and dab it onto the pads. After waisting money on cheaper products my friend recommended piddle place pet relief system that I could only get online. My puppy is shih-tzu and malteese mix and this pad is the only place he would potty. you need to keep this clean and make sure you spray "bitter apple" on the edges from the very first day otherwise, he will try to chew the green "grass". The potty is a great idea and very well made. It took my dog a while to get used to it, and he needs to be forced to use it. He's usually quite good at picking up new routines, but for some reason he is hesitant to use the potty. I think with practice he'll get better at it…but still won't do number 2 on there.claudia2900
I have a shih-tzu/bichon mix which is why I purchased the product. My dog mix (Shih-tzu part especially) is known for not being very good at doing their business where they should. I purchased the Piddle Place Pet Relief System based on other reviews that had a positive experience. My dog refuses to use it. In fact he will urinate directly around it but will not go on it to use it as designed. I went to the Piddle Place website for advice and attempted all that they recommended and still no luck. I am not saying this will not work for your dog but it certainly did not for mine. Overall the product is made well but I feel it is a little pricey.tgener
