Small Dog Water Fountain For Sale (2024 Update)

I bought this fountain 3-4 months ago. It no longer works. The pump does not pump water, it is simply a water bowl. that i overlaid for. I am livid because this product has tons of feedback stating that it breaks quickly, yet it is still being sold. this is taking financial advantage of people. Please do not buy this product unless you can afford to buy another fountain within a few months (or even as little as 3 days, i read on another review.) I wish i purchased this on line so i could have seen the truthful but terrible reviews and avoided the position i am now in. Sadly, i purchased it in stirred and I was unaware. If you are reading this, I promise there are better CHEAPER options that will not break. I’ve found several great fountains for $19 with available coupons on amazon. For example, the NPET cat water fountain. Very visually pleasing with shining reviews and a $19 price tag. Please remove this item from your store Petco, maybe even the company since they produce faulty items and knowingly take advantage of people.catmom1093

I bought this a little over a year ago and so far it has held up very well. I clean it every 3-4 weeks and it has only recently been getting gross after waiting that long. My theory is that it had stayed so clean due to pouring pre filtered water into as opposed to recently pouring tap water into it. Every now and again (every 3rd wash) I deep clean and clean the pump out as well. I have only one cat who refuses still water and will only drink from flowing, but getting a dog soon and may need to find a bigger fountain. For one cat it had worked perfectly.KitKatzM0m

These are perfect!! I have been looking for large waterer for my dogs. The ones available in the store are too small, I was getting tired of refilling them every other day. Bought several pet waterers and they have all had issues. This is the best one ive ever found. Its not too light that it can get knocked over and it holds enough water that it doesnt need to be changed every day. Bowl and container are both made of a thick plastic that seems like it will be long lasting.countryluvin

This truly is what it is advertised as, a pet water fountain. This is very easy to assemble and interesting that it has filters that does come with this product as well that I was not expecting. Everything is very easy to set up and put together for my pet although at first if your pet is like mine she will walk around and sniff it for a bit before they are brave enough or figure out how to drink from it. It's literally just like a water fountain feature. The only thing I had to make sure since it needed to be plugged in (adapter enclosed) was that the bowl / fountain was near an outlet so I could plug it in to make the water feature work. Easy to clean but I do wish there was a way this product had a better way to secure the bottom bowl/base to the top part that goes over the top.Wen72

My cats are loving this cute & BPA-free water fountain. It’s small and conveniently fits where I like it and has a nice, long cord. I like that it has a filter and is pretty quiet. I have noticed a little bit of splash over, but I think that might just be our kitten (who is completely fascinated by running water) putting her paw in and splashing making a mess. I followed the directions for assembling. It was a little confusing. After it was assembled I was happy with how it worked. I put it on the floor and my cat checked it out but refused to drink out of it. I was shocked because she likes to drink out of the running faucet and with the spout it mimics a faucet. I took it away and disassembled it only to find black marks, like a ring in the inside and on top where the water was. I think it was from the filter that it came with. No wonder my cat would not use it! I am very disappointed.dieseltdi

Purchased this water fountain October 27, 2022 despite the reviews. After assembly, the fountain worked just fine at first I didn't see any water coming up (no tubing) then realized the white tubing is connected to the top of the fountain with enough water coming out, the boys enjoyed drinking from it1cruzingal

My human got this for Christmas and she is very pleased with it. The motor is almost perfectly quiet and only makes noise when it needs more water. My human adds water then, usually one to one-half liter (ok, about a quart). Cleaning monthly is no hardship for my human because she is my devoted servant and will do anything for me. My fountain starts to show that it needs the filter replaced at about week 3 but we have no problem with that. My water must be pure. I purchased this fountain a few months ago. It worked great at first, then I started noticing the water was not flowing like it should. More like it was dripping. A month later now the pump doesn’t work. I’ve purchased other fountains before and this one is the worst of them. I have a cat who is the only one who drinks from this fountain. You would think it could handle one pet. At least the others lasted 2 years before the pumps went out. Also it’s very hard to find replacement filters for this fountain, they are not carried in the stores even the ones who sell this fountain.Silvers Mom

So theres 2 filters a debris filter just a filter with big gaps to let water through not debris floating in the water and charcoal filter to filter the water. You put the charcoal filter first which lets nothing but water through down a little step to a different section pumps it up through the debris filter and back into the cats dish. so instead of collecting all the debris in the second section using the step down it all gets stuck at the charcoal filter in the part the cats drink out of making the water gross very fast. The order of the filters doesn’t make sense debris filters are usually used to stop debris from clogging stuff but the charcoal filters in the way first stopping all the debris anyways getting clogged. The charcoal filter filters the water clean you already filtered it why does it need the debris filter after that are you saying that debris will get in the water after its been filtered that would defeat the purpose of this while thing. It need to be separating the gross water into the second section leaving the dish clean. Then run it through the debris filter and then the charcoal filter this whole thing is just bad engineering all aroundKeaton

Pros: cats love the fresh water. Convenient for my multiple pet house. Cons: Had the same problem with two of these units that after awhile the gasket on the water chute breaks, there aren't any extra gaskets provided, the company doesn't sell replacement gaskets and hard to find the right replacement. As others said, if this gasket isn't in place, the product fails and water everywhere. I used teflon tape in place of the gasket when it broke today which seems to work for now. Unit is hard to clean. Some parts with the little nooks and crannies can get gunk build up. Weekly soak in bleach solution and using brush kit for thorough cleaning seems to work. We got this fountain because we noticed our girl was avoiding the boys' water bowls on the floor. She would run whenever anyone was in the bathroom and beg for the faucet to be turned on. After looking at all the Walmart options, I ordered shipped the fountain. I'm glad I did. Not only did she after a few days use the fountain, but slowly the boys did too to the point we removed the floor one. Pros. Unless it needs water, it's quiet. Even in the bathroom which is where we put it because of the grounded outlet you don't heard more than a undertone vibration noise and not a low toned pump sound. It has just a few parts to take apart and wash. If you have a toothbrush, you can use dishsoap and get into the oddly shaped nooks and crannies. Another pro–I'm surprised that motor hasn't stopped by now–hopefully I don't jinx us! Between my girl's long coat and the water supply sneakily dipping, I was afraid for it. It'll make gasping for water suction noises when it's too low. The U shaped filter is really easy to clean and has lasted us since we bought the machine. The charcoal pads are really nice at filtering out the yuck. Cons: It IS plastic. It's a good plastic, but it is plastic and some folks do better with glass or steel. The cord goes through the O in the back and you can't get it out of that O as far as I know. I most likely am wrong and not seeing the 'how'. If you don't get every drop of soap out, your fountain makes bubbles. It only has a 4 pack authorized charcoal refill for about 5.00. They last a few months though–even with my 5 I'm not changing the charcoal filters as much as I had thought I would, but 5.00 is a bit steep when compared to other fountain models. When you go to wash it, you'll find a reddish slime sometimes. I have deduced that's because our cat food is slanted towards red hued ingredients and that's what they eat. It can be hard to get the nooks and crannies clean if you don't have the right brushes. If you don't get the bowl and parts perfectly soap free you get the same reaction as our UA fountain gets when the frat boys pour in Dawn Dish soap. Do I recommend this? Oh yes. HIGHLY. I am so glad I bought this one. Sizewise it fits my girl's head and that's what all this fountain needs to do since she's the largest/chonkiest cat. MAKE SURE YOU ONLY USE DISTILLED WATER. Trust me. This is good for anything that has a motor–Keurigs and steamers need distilled water to keep the mineral build up away and this fountain is just the same. Yes, BUY THIS!Denise

We have eight animals inside total- cats and dogs and I was sick of having to clean the water bowl out twice a day because of how gross it would get. I was given this as a gift because I asked for one for my birthday (pathetic I know, but I have all I need) and can I just say: WOW! The difference this has made in all the animals drinking more and playing less. We have well water so I was always having to buy Spring Water but now I can save all that money weekly, plus I hardly ever have to clean it! Every two weeks I take it apart and clean and every two months I change the filters out. It’s so easy, holds 50 ounces, don’t let it get less than an inch in the bottom or you may hurt the motor, and the animals adore it! This is a great water fountain. My cat used to drink from the bathroom sink, waking me at 6 AM each morning (even on weekends… thanks cat!) because she was thirsty. I got this water fountain for her and now she prefers to drink out of the fountain. This may not mean a lot to people but I have a Bengal cat and Bengals are notorious for water play and shenanigans. Our cat Sushi has not tried to tip this over at all, which is absolutely amazing! She used to pick up each kibble and dip it in her water bowl and then place it in her mouth to eat. Her water bowl would get nasty quickly and she would refuse to drink from it. Since getting this fountain I’ve noticed that she isn’t dipping her food anymore either. She must be getting enough water now that she has a steady stream to drink from.Emily

I bought this a couple days ago and when I put the bottle on the base I thought it was going to overflow. The water didn’t stop until it was maybe a 1/4 inch from the top. You can’t move it or bump it because the water spills over. I retried and moved the water level thing around and it still over fills. I will be returning itCurrygirl

Hi, I bought this about a week ago and i just want to say it is intresting. While using, I found it’s not really for me as I prefer a hands on approach while caring for my pets. That said, this is a great investment for those pet owner who have a little less time in their day to day lives. The only real problem I had with it was that white moving it, water would leak. After a bit of inspection, I found an empty space under the tray that caused it. Other than that, I don’t have any complaints, it just wasn’t for me. I would recommend a to try a different brand because the idea is good, it just needs good a design to match.DiachiandZilah

This is a great fountain for small pets. If you have one pup or or a cute cat this is a perfect fountain that they will love especially cats. Cats love to drink from fresh water especially from fountains so they will be happy to have this in their home. My cats and dogs love this fountain but it is too small for the them to use 24 hours a day. We have multiples around the house and each animal has their own so the fountains stay clean longer and water does not need to be replenished as often. This one we actually use during the night time in our room because the size is perfectly small enough for our bedroom and holds just enough water to get them through the night. We just refill it each night when we go to bed and it lasts till we wake up and that is with two dogs and two cats. I highly suggest these fountains to everyone because they keep the water flowing and fresh which our animals deserve. The fountains are so easy to keep clean and use. The fountains have filters making the water even more fresh if you use bottle water or reverse osmosis. The fountains come apart easily making cleaning easy. I have wanted on of these for my 5 cats for a while. However, I was not sure how they would react to it. When this came in I got it set up and emptied out their old water bowl and filled this up and turned it on. (Set up is very easy. You have to take the top part off and make sure that the pump is in the proper position, plus it suggest washing the parts of the pump that come off of the pump. After I did this I put it back together and inserted the filter snapped the top back on and it was ready to go.) I have 1 cat that is scared of anything. The other 4 are curious and will check things out. The first one to check it out was Hobbes. He is the head of the house and he went up to it sat there and looked at it for a while, then he got a drink out of the top tray. Next was Marmalade. He is my old man (17 years old) he sniffed of it and looked all around it then got a drink our of the bottom tray. Jo-Jo and Colby Jack sniffed of it walked all around it sat and looked at it, but I did not see them get a drink that first night. The next day they both were seen drinking out of the top of it. Calvin (my scared cat) hissed at it, hid under the bed, ran from it the first night. The next day I caught him drinking our of the top tray. I have not seen any of them drinking from the fountain part of it. I am just happy that they have adjusted so quickly to it and appear to really enjoy it. I had to share a picture of Colby Jack and Calvin even though I did not get a picture of the actually drinking for the fountain. They both love it now just as much as the others. I struggle to find anything negative to say about this pet water fountain! It's slightly wider than my old water dispenser and taller which I'm sure is more comfortable for my dogs. The water continually recirculates for fresh water. It does slightly hum, but when the water level is full, it isn't very noticeable – the recirculation of the water is more apparent (it is not disruptive). I have a very skiddish dog and I was nervous that would deter her from drinking water, but the hum didn't bother her at all and she was quick to drink out of the new fountain with no guidance/pressure/training from me. When the water level does get low, the hum does get louder. Originally, I thought it was a con, but after thinking about it, it's a good reminder for me to fill up their water fountain! Set up for the motor was fairly easy – the directions provided could have offered a little more detail on the actual motor part, but I figured it out quickly. Would definitely recommend!customkc

I feel like this product has a lot of potential, however, it doesn’t work that well with the brand of cat food that my cats eat. The food has a really difficult time falling down into the bowl unless I scoop it out into the bowl myself with my hand. This creates an issue with the bowl going empty and never refilling itself. I suppose with smaller sized food pieces this would work great, but if you use Meow Mix this might not be the feeder for you.Hunter

It does what it’s advertised to do HOWEVER the threshold for the water is too high in my opinion. It fills the water to the very edge (almost about to spill), which causes a lot of spillage on the sides when my dog drinks water. I have to put it on top of a pee pad just to catch the excess so my wood floors don’t get damaged. It doesn’t leak if you leave it in one place but if you move it just a little to adjust position then all hell breaks loose and water goes everywhere. Honestly would rather just stick to a regular bowl. Cool idea but definitely needs some design tweaks.wzhang

At first I really liked this waterer. It holds a good volume of water, and the mechanism to be able to remove the water tank without dumping water everywhere is very convenient. However, that mechanism involves a metal spring which sits in the water dish in the base–it sits in water–24/7. It has become completely rusted, even though I have tried to scrub off the rust multiple times. I don't want my cat drinking rust water! This is not safe for pets. I'm very disappointed, because it is now too late for me to return it.CP

I really like this fountain, it's pretty on the eyes, it's very easy to clean and I like that the pump is separate from the fountain so it can be replaced if needed. I also like the design of the snap in carbon filter, and replacement filters feel decently priced. Four stars because it's advertised as having an adjustable flow control. Perhaps some of the pumps do, but the one that came with my fountain does not. Also, the pump gets VERY loud after running it for a bit. I've found putting my finger over the water outlet seems to "clear" whatever is causing the noise but I have to do this every day and that's getting annoying. I may buy another pump since this one is causing us issues. Have only had the fountain a week now, so this is not a clogged or dirty pump issue (took it apart anyway just to be sure). Aside from the issues with the pump, I do really like it and would buy it again.Laura

We purchased this item on Easter Weekend. Not even 6 weeks later it has stopped working. The contacts have corroded even though we were extremely careful about not getting them wet. We have contacted the company and they have not gotten back to us. A great idea for a product but very poorly designed.Karen

I have 6 cats, which means the food bowl is always in need of filling. This large, gravity style feeder is perfect for that. No more hungry kitties, meowing about an empty bowl. This feeder isn't made out of the sturdiest plastic, the clear container part has some flex to it. It's not flimsy, but I wouldn't qualify it as sturdy either. It should hold up just fine with cats, but if you have a large dog, it might take a beating. I liked that the stickers on the container peeled off easily and didn't leave any sticky residue behind. This feeder will hold about 10 pounds of small kibble. I think with larger dog kibble it would probably only between 5-7 pounds.JtownCatLady

I purchased the 1.2 gallon one for my cat who drinks a lot of water. I clean it and change the water once per week and the bottle is still about 1/3 full when I change it. It’s working great and my cat adjusted to it instantly. However I find it a little difficult to pull the bowl off the bottle when I want to refill it, but I manage. You have to be careful after you attach the bowl and turn it over because you do lose some water, which is why I do it over the sink. Also, after 4 months of using it the cap has cracked almost all the way around the top, however it still seems to be working without any issues. My husband just glued the top with some silicone so I’m hoping that does the trick. I guess for a little over $10 you get what you pay for. I wish Walmart would sell just the replacement cap.cherdani

I received my Vibrant Life 10 pound feeder promptly from my carrier. It came packaged well and there was no marks or dents on the feeder. This is a big feeder made of tuff plastic. I rinsed the cat feeder with warm water and dried it so the cat food would not get wet when I filled it. I then filled the Vibrant Life feeder with dry cat food, if you buy you cat food by the 10 pound bag this is perfect. I have two cats a petite one and a big fury one, and soon as I filled the feeder with dry food they went for it. This feeder is perfect for my busy lifestyle as the cats can eat whenever they want and not wait around for me to fill their dish everyday. I gave the product 4 stars because the bowl has to get pretty low before the dry cat food will start to fill up the bowl. My two cats prefer a full bowl so I just sweep my hand back and forth in front of the spout and move the dry cat food back as it fills. It just takes a few second to do this and the bowl will stay full enough for days. I would surely recommend this Vibrant Life 10 pound feeder to everyone.cedar
