I'm quite surprised with the reviews that say this product doesn't work. For my dog, it truly was a LIFE SAVER! I've been battling with my dogs hotspots (and dry, flaky skin) off and on ever since we moved back to the Midwest, at least a year of her issues. I've tried shampoos, conditioners, a handful of trips to the vet to trial different foods, and hundereds of dollars later I honestly just gave up. I started putting alternative topical agents on her that simply gave a temporary resolution. While traveling out of town, she (Mini Schnauzer) had a really bad case, to the point where she was starting to bleed. Tea oil, hot spot spray and the above HomeoPet drops were what I returned with, after another visit to the pet store. After the first day her redness had diminshed greatly and she wasn't itching nearly as much. By two, she wasn't itching AT ALL. I decided to remove the Tea oil and spray since I'd used them in the past without long-term results. It's been a week and my schnauzer has had 3-5 drops a day, oral dose of this product and she is doing exceptional! Seriously! No redness, no scratching. Today I hadn't given her any since yesterday afternoon and she started scratching again. I gave her 3 drops and about a couple hours later, again, her scratching is gone. This product worked exceptionally on my dog. On the other hand, I don't think her issues were due to food allergies, vs environmental surroundings, my guess. My two little dogs (a chihuahua and a chihuahua/daschund mix) really loved these treats! They were the perfect size for them as little dogs, plus they were all natural, so I felt good about giving my dogs these chews. My Lurcher Heidi had to have a mammary tumour removed. She was terrified wearing an Elizabethan collar. So I got her a Buster collar but being long nosed Sighthound and with a flexable neck she could reach her stitches. The "Suitical" vest I got her from D forDog was absoulutley amazing. For toileting I just un-did the press studs and took her back legs out of the garment and rolled the Suitical back to her shoulders. These are smelly, huge, and brittle. I hope to easily break into smaller pieces, but no. I had to struggle and even then with meat scissors and regular industrial ones – I could barely cut them! I love this seafood option for my puppies. They have several allergies that we haven't been able to pinpoint but I know for sure they don't react to fish. I didn't even know fish skin chews were an option. I love them and my dogs devour them but not so fast like a treat. They actually have to chew them for awhile. I bought this set for my cats after researching the ingredients to ensure they were all safe for my cats. The poor little things always get dry, cracked little bean toes, so I tried the paw balm first. It does work, but you have to reapply. It kind of melts with body heat, so it comes off like a thin oil when you apply it, but it doesn't absorb very quickly. Just a fluke that I found PolkaDog Cod Skins in our local Pet Club. The cashier told me dogs loved them…and she was right. They are now part of our morning routine. These rolled Cod Skins are incredible! Our Dachshund Lucky has skin allergies. It seems that 9 months out of the year, his skin forms scabs, from allergies. Used it on my German Shepherd Dog who is going through the shedding stage now. I normally don't bath her but three times per year, being she is a healthy female she doesn't have hardly any odor except if she gets wet. Then for some strange reason she smells like a dog. Our dog developed an inflamed bladder due to chemotherapy he was taking for cancer. He went from never having an accident to completely losing bladder control. These have been a life saver! My only complaint is that they do shrink a bit after washing, so I had to order the extenders in order to be able to use them after they’ve been washed a few times. Our Hava-Tzu started marking about three years after having him. He was fixed but out of the blue he started. Had him to the vet and he was physically great! But we endured him marking on the stainless steel frig, the bottom drawer of our stainless steel stove and the front of the dishwasher not to mention to many baseboards to name!! I bought this for my one dog's really dry paws. He'd scratch me with his paw pads every time he'd put them on me. Honestly, it did work well; within a few days his paws were already looking and feeling better. However, he hates having his paws touched, so it's a bit of a struggle each time (despite easing him into it). The smell is fairly neutral; it actually smells like a humectant I used to use on my hair. It soaks in quite nicely, though he does try to lick it off as soon as I apply it, so it helps to have a way to distract him for a few minutes.sarah.w
Our dog twice got foxtail seeds in his paws which lead to serious infections. He missed a hunting trip and the second time his paw was huge with the infection and had to be lanced. Poor fella. I found Musher's Secret online and took a chance. He never got another seed or infection in his paws. We've now have two small dogs who are having a hard time this winter on the snow and ice. Both of them come inside from going out for 2-3 minutes (I set a timer.) limping with ice crusted on their paws. I'm sure Musher's Secret is going to take care of this problem. Musher secret pet paw protection is used year round for both my dogs. Living in the NYC, I deal with snow, salt, ice, and blistering pavement in the summers, and this product is an absolute miracle and super easy to apply. In the winter, I put it on their paws 2 to 3 times a week and they can withstand the bitter cold and salty walks. In the summer when the temperature is 80 and above, I put it on their paws and she can walk on asphalt without issue. It also helps protect their paws from pesticides and environmental allergies.
