I have had dozens of plastic scoopers that became unusable after only a few uses. The super scooper is made of mostly metal and the first one I had lasted for a year before developing problems. I have had something break just once and considering the abuse I put it through, it should have gone bad sooner. After trying many different types and brands of jaw scoops I have settled for Nature's Miracle Jaw Scoop (jumbo) to pick up after my six Great Danes and German Shepherd. This scoop holds up for years. Other scoops I've tried have weak handles that soon break, or I have had the plastic break where the scoop is attached. Also I have found other scoops aren't large enough or even strong enough to fully encompass and pick up a giant breed's waste. This Jaw Scoop certainly allows enough room and is built with heavy duty plastic to withstand the work out I put it through on a daily basis. There have been issues with the springs breaking but customer service will happily take care of that for you. However, the company is AWESOME about sending replacements. I've seen other products mimic this style, mainly because it works. You only need one hand to use it and it does the job you want it to. The springs DO deform and eventually break (I got more use out of mine by using needle nose pliers to re-bend the ends). When I finally broke down and called the company to find out where I could get more springs, they just quickly told me they'd send me new ones. No fuss, no receipts necessary – just an address. Apparently I am a heavy user of scoopers since I've purchased 10 in the past year! 5 of those have been the jumbo size of this because they are better than the others, but they still aren't great. The handle is studier, the length is right, and the plastic holds up decently well, much better than others, but the springs break … over.. and over… and over again. The springs- the entire thing that make this work- break. I am not rough on these. I do not overuse it. It is not kept in the elements, but the springs will break – every time. I wish they would use better metal, better springs, or have a new design. I hate having to pay $15-$20 a pop every time they break, but this is still far better than others I've used. I like that the claw is large, and the grip strength is strong & tight- it makes picking up the mess in my very thick grass easier, but that still doesn't explain why the springs break after a month or so of using this 3-4 times a week. Handle eventually broke after being dropped on concrete but was overall a good product.

I never thought I'd get excited about scooping dog poops… but this Spade Set really is "the $h!T". This is perfect for a small or medium sized dog. The shovel is wide and easy to maneuver if you're trying to catch the poo before it hits the ground. Do other people do that? I mean you have to pick it up anyway so might as well skip a step and save some time. Figure the dog poops every single day at least once. Even if you saved 5 seconds a day… over the course of an average dogs lifetime…. If you have a larger breed dog you should get the larger size for sure because it'll be too hard to catch anything bigger than a 60 lbs lab mix.acardoza01
