I purchase this product for my 13 year old – 5 pound 2 ounce Chihuahua. I started purchasing from Petmeds because my Vet has been having supply issues, and wanting to change my Fur babies medication to different medications every month to every 3 months. Considering my Fur babies age and possible complications in constant changing of medications I decided that Petmeds was a better option for our Family. I also like that there are some savings involved with purchasing from Petmeds than purchasing from my Vet. Petmeds also includes a treat for my Fur baby, however I do have to break it into several smaller pieces. Maybe consider a treat for a small Fur baby instead of one that would be more appropriate for my larger German Shepherd Siberia Husky Fur baby.Settles Fur Babies

I have 2 very picky dogs, whom despite not having table food, turn their noses up at a LOT of treats, and meals. I had to cancel a subscription box I had for them because they only liked the toys and not the treats. I also have tried many different oral flea meds and the same thing, they will not eat it, no matter how I try to mask it in cheese or chicken, they could just smell it. With these, it doesn't have that chemical/grassy smell, and I have no issues giving it to them wrapped in chicken. They don't like to eat it by itself, but if I leave it on the floor long enough, they will eventually eat it. Since I have 2 dogs, I can't just leave it there in case one of them eats both doses so I wrap it in some chicken and they gobble it right up. I rescued Peanut 8 months ago. He's a senior dog, about 10-12 years old. Even though I had just lost my 16 year old male to congestive heart failure. I knew this little guy needed me. I've been taking my lil pup out on trail walks and she just loves rolling in grass in general so I do get a but worried for her but so far the product seems to work (need prescription from your vet but it doesn't take long at all for products to be shipped). We tried several flea and tick treatments -topical, collar, etc. but they didn’t work or gave our dog bad hives. Our vet recommended this oral treatment and it works! I haven’t noticed any fleas or ticks on him since starting to use this product. He is mostly an indoor dog though, so I’m not sure how well it would work for dogs that are constantly outside or in the woods.Blonde4ever56

These chew flea tablets are one of the only ones my dogs will willingly eat without being wrapped in cheese or meat! So, they are tasty, (apparently, not for personal experience), which is a big tick. But they also do a fine job of controlling fleas. My dogs had a bad case after hanging out with other dogs and within 30 mins of giving them the tablets, I could actually see dead fleas falling off the dogs. Totally works! Sometimes the packaging is a bit squashed or damaged but the product itself has no issues. The box it comes in is never damaged, just sometimes the boxes inside .Sonbob

We have 6 Brittanies, and used to have 9 between 2017 and 2019. Before that, in 2002, we had one male who sired puppies with 2 females at the same time. That made the count go to 20 Brittanies for about 6 months! In all that time, none of our dogs have had a flea or a tick bothering them! Ok, so I wanted to rate this product 5 stars but I can't. Does the product kill the fleas? Yes. If you are looking for a quick fix, this is your product. I saw results immediately. However, I did have to use another tablet to kill the fleas (which was suggested on the box). This box came with 6 tablets. However, if you read the description on the product it says that results will not last more than 24 hours, meaning this is not a long term solution compared to NexGard. If you know for certain your dog is not going back to a flea area and this is just a quick fix, buy this. I would buy this for my cat since he's an indoor cat only. But I wouldn't use this for my dogs for long term use since I am always taking them to parks. So, if you''re looking for a quick fix, this is it. But I wouldn't waste your money if you're looking for a long term solution. I really wanted to like this. Maybe I will just by the NexGard after all. i just hate how expensive it is.TRios

I ordered online last night and picked it up at Petco store this afternoon. It worked well for my dog(24 lb)! I needed something effective product to kill flea after unsuccessful flea shampoo and spray. I and my family got many flea bites as well. I gave my dog a pill tonight. I was expecting to see many fleas drop on the floor but it didn’t. However, 1 hour later I brushed her and found few dead fleas on her body. She is sleeping very well tonight without scratching. I received the collar and opened it to put on my cat. I immediately noticed the pleasant smell of the collar and how soft and flexible the collar was. It went on with ease and was simple to put on. The purple color was a nice contrast as well. The cat is leaving it alone and when I pick her up that light scent was very nice and not over powering. I highly recommend the color for comfort, style and I really like that the effectiveness is for 7 months. Before using the collar I had a situation were my other pet who is a dog woke up one morning and couldn't walk and was in pain. As it turned out he had contracted lymes disease from a tick. I received a Hartz® UltraGuard® Flea & Tick Collar for Dogs – White in exchange for a review. I loved the fact that there is enough length in the collar that it would fit multiple size dogs. I put this on my 62 pound Pittie the very first day I received it. I did have a little trouble getting the end through the buckles but luckily, my dog is very patient. I haven’t noticed any adverse effects on his skin nor scratching where the collar is. I do have some very tall grass that he likes to run and play in on a regular basis and I typically use some sort of OTC drops from the store. I have not found a single flea or tick on him since I started using the collar and definitely recommend anyone giving it a try before spending a fortune at their local veterinarian.SexyCougar

My dogs go to the groomer for their baths every 6 weeks and I was shocked when they told me my german shepherd had a few fleas on him and the groomer informed me that fleas were bad this year because my dogs have never had fleas., so in a rush, I ordered these flea collars and they seem to work but I also use a spray bottle with 1 cup of apple cider vinegar mixed with 2 cups of water and spray it on my hands then rub my dogs down before they go outside in the mornings first of day then I spray their beds a spritz of it and voila!!!! no more fleas!!!!!! I also used the Hartz flea and tick drops which also works along with everything else. I like a clean house and just can't deal with fleas !!! I live in a crazy flea ridden area. Southern swamp fleas are really tough to keep away. If you've got the money, go with Nexgard. We don't, so we tried this product out. It works just as well as Frontline, which here, isn't wonderfully but good enough. When we lived in IL Frontline was plenty. We also wash pet bedding often, and use food grade diatomaceous earth. You've eaten it many times without realizing, farmers use it on wheat and other crops to kill destructive insects (caterpillars and other wormies with exoskeletons). This is a very safe method for killing adult fleas, hopefully before they can lay eggs. Don't buy the pool stuff, get food grade. Sprinkle it on the carpet before vacuuming. Once fleas come into contact with it, they die within 4 hours – it slices up their exoskeletons. Obviously we can't coat every flea, but doing this regularly really cuts down on the problem (nyuk) and is much safer than harsh chemicals – plus, no smell. Just like talcum powder, flour, and other particulates, avoid breathing it in, as it can be an irritant to your and your pet's lungs (no tossing it in the air and dancing under it naked, but a little shouldn't hurt). For those hard to vacuum areas like under furniture, sprinkle a bit and leave it. There are also these bulb things you can buy to spread the dust more evenly, but it's cheap so we just use a sifter or shaker bottle with small holes. We killed them inside, but they kept reappearing. We realized we have a screened in porch with sand and gravel right outside the back door. Fleas love that stuff. Sprinkled it in the gravel and added the porch to the regular DE routine and now it's unusual to find those devils. Our dog has bad allergies to fleas, so they still irritate him but once they've bitten him they're kaput. Good luck! And if you life in the Southeast, my sympathies to your poor doggie!L.C.

Tried this on my dog that not only has sensitive skin , but also goes insane when bitten by a flea. Scratches and rubs herself raw and hair free in spots all over. Baths and dips made no improvement. Started using this a couple years ago and couldn't be more satisfied. I haven't noticed any side effects and she is significantly more comfortable. I know when its time to retreat. At around 4 weeks ish she is seen beginning to scratch and rub her back on the coffee table again. Retreat and all is good again.Skankhunt42

I have used Fiproguard Max for three years and have been completely satisfied then it was discontinued and replaced with Fiproguard Plus. Thanks to that I have been fighting a flea problem on my dogs and in my house!! Imagine sitting on your couch with your dog and a flea jumps on your arm, then you find them all over your dog! Mad dash to the store to buy (more $$) flea killer shampoos, sprays . Wash the dogs, all the bedding and soft furnishings, spray the house from top to bottom and guess what? In two days they're back! Finally had to get my house fumigated, (more $$) research other flea prevention products (more time) and get my dogs treated with a new product. I am SO mad!! Why on earth did they have to change the formula? BTW I phoned before I ordered the Plus formula to ask that question and asked if it worked as well as the Max but of course all the person knew was what was printed on the product description, well heck I could read that myself , thanks for nothing!AnnW

Found this by chance at the local store. Applicator type flea stuff isn't all that reliable. The eight month collar option is a no no after reading up on it and finding it can cause a dog to go into convulsions. This once a month soft chew though is great. Our dog didn't scratch once. No side effects. Great stuff. It's so good we can hardly find it on the shelves to refill that way so we have to order on-line.Peachn

I bought these chews for a couple years. For my two dogs and then another 3 dogs that belong to my daughters. The dogs love them and they work really really well. I would rattle the jar and they would all come running 1 did the trick for at least 3 or 4 weeks . Within a few hours the fleas seem to be better . You can re administer as needed and I only had to do that I think the first time when I bought them in the fleas were really bad . When Coronavirus came and we had to start social distancing and staying at home I decided to order something off of Amazon. Unfortunately what I ordered didn't work and my house is now infested in fleas they're in my bed and furniture and everywhere. 1 chew seems to do the trick for my pitbull German Shepherd cross 60 pound dogs I will be going back to these.Amy

I bought the advantus yesterday. My babies loved them. I paid $54.99 plus tax $4.54 bringing the grand total to $59.53. Now let's break it down $59.53 divided by 30 days of the month that's a $1.98 per day to protect your baby. I do agree it could have had a lot more stuff to help with the fleas & ticks. Now the reason I said it won't work for me, is because I have 21 babies so instead of buying 1 bottle a month I would be buying 3 1/2 bottles. Now that's serious money, just bathe in dawn dish soap. mist them with a flea and tick spray before they go out to potty your good to go. I gave three stars because I bought it yesterday. For some reason God had a great sense of humor and blessed me with not 1, but 3 whole dogs who have severe flea allergies/dermatitis. This means if just one flea lands on them they will chew their fur off down to the skin due to their severe allergies and irritation (I learned this the hard way after a skin graft was needed as a pup for one of my dogs). This product is a GOD SEND. A LIFE SAVER. I was doing the Seresto collars before but they stopped working and my vet recommend this instead and though it is pricey ($50 per dog for a 3 month treatment) I sometimes wait for chewy to have their big sale and stock up on it (I pay about half price when it does go on sale). You do need a vet prescription for this flea treatment, but let me tell you it is worth all the trouble you have to go through to get it lol. I have two dogs with two very different personalities. One that will eat anything he can get his mouth on and the other that is super stubborn. I always enjoyed pill flea control because my dogs are so adorable you just want to pet them all the time, and the drops just get all over your hands if you do. My vet recommended this brand after I told him how much my stubborn dog disliked his previous pill. He said dogs tend to like this taste better in comparison and even if he didn't it wasn't something I have to do every month. He was right! My dogs like this pill and it's so easy to give to them, and not having to do it every month is great. I set a notification on my phone and never miss a dose. DO NOT BUY!! Bravecto has been known to kill animals and leave them with life threatening health issues! I gave my own dog Bravecto and within days he started having seizures (5 in one day to be exact, 3 at home and 2 at the vet). What was a once healthy 4 year old plott hound/lab mix will now have seizures for the rest of his life and require serious medical assistance thanks to Bravecto. Please, if you love your pets, don’t buy this product. There are much safer alternatives for flea/tick prevention that will not kill or seriously harm your pet. I only wish I saw a review like this or had someone tell me before I purchased this product and gave it to my dog, but the more research I do now, the more I learn how toxic this “medicine” is and realize the urgency of dissuading people from buying it so their pets don’t have the same fate as mine or worse. It's very distressing to find 3 happy engorged ticks on your dog 24 hours after treatment following all the requirements re: proper placement location on the dog, shaved the hair to make contact only on the skin, no water on the dog for 24 hours or at all after treatment. I was frankly, pretty shocked. This is an older small dog with arthritis. He is already in some pain and to find the ticks on him on top of this frankly really upset me. I breed Chihuahuas and I also foster cats/kittens. My Chihuahuas are litter box trained so they rarely get fleas because they dont spend a whole lot of time outside. Even when we go for walks, theyre in a dog stroller lol. Anyways… I fostered a litter of kittens that were found outside and covered in fleas. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Within 30 minutes they are jumping off to get away and die. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. This stuff not only took care of the fleas on the dogs and cats but the ones in the house would jump on the dogs would die to. Havent had an issue since.Corvet08

Within a few days, we noticed that she would not be scratchy when coming back into the house, then we didn't have to treat her bedding as much. Very nice! This went on for a few weeks, and eventually, there were no signs of fleas or scratching! It's been a great summer, and we look forward to a flea-free fall. I decided we’d use a topical solution for this summer and this is working great so far. The application was easy and the the applicator worked well. I’ve had to apply a different brand on foster puppies in the past and sometimes, the liquid would just all flow right out during the first contact, leaving no medicine for the rest of the dog’s back. It wasn’t the case with PetArmor. I had good control to dispense the product with their applicator. My dog had no discomfort whatsoever on the application sites. The product didn’t leave his coat all oily or smelly. I love that you can scan a QR code in the box and the brand will send a text 30 days later as a reminder for when the next dose is due. Their formula contains Fipronil and (S)-methoprene like most expensive well-known brands but at a more affordable cost. So far, I’m very happy with this and I look forward to a tick free summer!LinPMaine

Absolutely the worst flea control ! Not only did it not work but now I have a cat that may be on seizure medication for life ! Horrible is not even strong enuff words to describe this so called flea control I followed and did everything as directed,with absolutely no results! All I got out of this is a cat that was healthy the day I put this on her is now on seizure medication ! I normally use Frontline Plus but I couldn't find it at the store and I reviewed this product compared to Frontline. The packaging said that it is just as good the only difference was Frontline was more available. Well, I put this on my dog and he still has fleas I used it for another month and he is worse with fleas this is the worst flea and tick medicine I've ever used. I am seeing reviews that have me wondering what people expect? Maybe read up on everything fully before complaining? Yes, you will still see fleas every time your dog goes outside if there are fleas out there. They will pick them up on walks and even at pet stores! They come I to your yard on other animals and on their own. Frontline is NOT a repellent. You also need to make sure you gollow the directions for application! Wait at LEAST 48hrs to apply if you have bathed tour dog as it travels via their natural skin oils and they need time to develop if they have been stripped away by soap/shampoo, as well as making sure you wait at least a week before bathing them after it is applied and make sure it is either a gentile baby shampoo or a ph balanced dog shampoo that does not have skin drying agents and says it is approved for use with flea treatment. Most good dog shampoo is these days. Dogs really shouldn't get more than one full bath (deep scrub) a month when possible. We use a natural ph balenced for dogs waterless shampoo in between baths as well as sensitive skin baby wipes if needed. If you live in areas with fleas outside (especially warmer, dry states like Oklahoma and Texas) they WILL get on your pet. However, they die after exposure to the Frontline, it usually takes about 24-48hrs to notice a difference when you first start using it if your dog is already infested. If you have a flea issue in your area then I recommend treatment of your yard as well! We had to treat our yard every summer and fall for the first 4 yrs we were here as the people next door to us have 3 dogs, chickens (in town smh) and other animals and I do not know if they use any kind of treatment and the people that lived in our house before us had 4 dogs and I do not think they used treatment at all because it was a nightmare in our backyard the first 2-3 years fighting them after we moved in. We have been here for 6yrs now and haven't had to treat our yard for the past year or two and we only have to apply Frontline every other month on our dog now. I still see a few fleas here or there once in a while at the beginning of summer (in our yard) and throughout fall usually (on our dog) if we have been out to the lake or to the park or something but that's all. That tells me that Frontline still works just fine. Anyone that has ever dealt with a true flea infestation knows the difference! They reproduce so fast that your whole house is overrun before you even realize they are a problem, literally in a month if left untreated they are everywhere, on furniture, all over your house, on you even, to the point you end up having to bug bomb your entire house (been there done that our first summer here, it was insane! I had never seen anything like it before). We have been using Frontline since on our 74lb dog(just the up to 88lb one), after extensive research on everything out there for flea control including the oral types our vet carries I still maintain that Frontline Plus is the absolute safest choice for those of us that do not like using things like pesticides/chemicals on ourselves, our yard or our pets unless absolutely necessary and prefer natural remedies when possible. Unfortunately, flea treatment is not one of those things you can go chemical free on. However this stuff is safer and harder to overdose than many of the other options and we will continue to use it!AW82

I've used for about 1 year now and for the most of thenyear it worked well. But the other day I found THREE engorged and 1 non-engorged tick on my dog! We also treat our yard and even our woods around our yard. But this still happened! I contacted my vet concerned for my dogs health. And she was telling me they've had alot of complaints about Frontline lately. Its like the ticks have built up immunity to their specific strength/ingredients. I've used this since we quit using flea collars (years ago) Over the years we have used nothing but Front Line. We live in a rural area with wild animals around. I've used it on puppies, kittens, Labradors and dogs weighing only 7 pounds! It is absolutely the best as I never have had a problem with fleas or ticks. I needed to use this product for some time to appreciate its abilities. My dog likes to spend time outside rolling around and doing dog things. This leads to her coming into the house, tracking dirt and the pesky fleas. We've done well to mitigate it in the past, but PetArmor helped in the process. Within a few days, we noticed that she would not be scratchy when coming back into the house, then we didn't have to treat her bedding as much. Very nice! In the past, I have given my dog oral medication to prevent flea and ticks. It worked well but I was never comfortable with the fact that he had to ingest the medicine. I decided we’d use a topical solution for this summer and this is working great so far. The application was easy and the the applicator worked well. I’ve had to apply a different brand on foster puppies in the past and sometimes, the liquid would just all flow right out during the first contact, leaving no medicine for the rest of the dog’s back. It wasn’t the case with PetArmor. I had good control to dispense the product with their applicator. My dog had no discomfort whatsoever on the application sites. The product didn’t leave his coat all oily or smelly. I love that you can scan a QR code in the box and the brand will send a text 30 days later as a reminder for when the next dose is due. Their formula contains Fipronil and (S)-methoprene like most expensive well-known brands but at a more affordable cost. Finally something that works consistently. After trying probably 10-15 brands of flea and tick stuff for my Dogs this is the company I come back to. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Within 30 minutes they are jumping off to get away and die. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. This stuff not only took care of the fleas on the dogs and cats but the ones in the house would jump on the dogs would die to. Havent had an issue since.Corvet08
