I bought it for my old dog's house, I put a sheepskin in there but it still needed more heat, This worked perfectly in our outdoor dog house. At -15°C the inside of the house was 0°C. We mounted it on the ceiling which was at a 75° angle and it worked perfectly. This heater on Low gets very hot to the touch. I would not mount it on the side of a dog house where a dog could fall asleep on it. I bought a remote digital thermometer so I could monitor the temperature in there. It gave me such peace of mind knowing my old girl was warm and safe. PS, use sheepskins in the dog's house, the skin part prevents moisture from passing through into their bodies!LHunt

The directions were weak and adapter ( for large Igloo Dog house} didn't match properly. Had to go on to YouTube to figure out how to make it work. The Igloo is a constant curve making something that is not built for the curve turns into a little more work. The adapter did not compensate for the curve but I did get it installed and I am happy with it and my dog is also. The heat shield needs to be a little lager and more reflective the outside of the dog house gets hotter than I personally would like. I would still recommend it.cmswin
The bracket is supposed to fit an igloo style dog house. The dog house is curved the bracket is flat which makes it difficult to drill mounting holes for the bracket. The mounting holes on the heater were not in the correct location for the bracket (had to drill bracket for heater mounting). It came with a heat shield that did not mount correctly. Bought this for our older dog who now has to contend with the younger one pulling bedding out to position into sun. Have owned this space heater for less than a year and the switch keep breaking, more than 10 times. Manufacturer keeps sending me new switches, but I am forced to disassemble the device and reassemble the device every other week…Asked customer support for a more permanent solution he Colt Carpenter said the only thing he can do is send out switches…That is very bad customer service and this is a poor product. All you have to do is when you are pressing the button for the pilot is wait a few seconds and allow the air to purge. If you are using a hose the longer the hose the longer it will take to purge the air out of the line. On low this heater gets the job done. This heater is great! We have a 2-story home with a finished basement and central cooling/heating. Our insulation isn't great and some of our pipes run along an outside wall. Every winter we have issues with our water lines freezing, because regardless of the time of year or what temp we set our thermostat, our basement is always very cold. We mounted this heater on the wall in our basement and we haven't had any issues since. It works great and is easy to use! Some much quieter & smaller than my 10 year old infrared heater. Both 1500W. Too new to give it 5 s but if it lasts 10 years it will be worth every penny! I purchased a 1000W Heat Storm infrared heater, a couple years ago, for 12×12 enclosure and it heats the area easily during January & February making the space useable year round. I really like the auto mode vs manual select high or low setting. Has the option to wall mount but since it is portable and I am only using it seasonally I wont be using that feature. Just received this heater a couple of weeks ago. So far it is as advertised. It is pretty dang hot to be sure. This heater does work. I have had a couple of hic-ups with it though. One burner shut off a couple times…but did finally stay on the last time I lit it. The final reason why I decided to by the Mr. Heater is because the statement said it was made in the USA. Not so!!! When I received it, I looked on the box and it said (MADE IN CHINA). Disappointing. After using this heater for a couple weeks I was somewhat disappointed with it's performance. The 1lb. propane bottles it uses can be expensive and only last about four hours on the low setting. Using an adapter, which I had to purchase separately, I am refilling the bottles with a 20lb. tank I already have. This helps defer some of the cost of the propane. I purchased 2 units that I use on my deck to keep warm on brisk evenings. You have to sit rather close to really feel the warmth, which is why I went with 2. I do enjoy the telescoping aspect of the heater so that I can position it based on where we are sitting or standing. This has been a life saver! With multiple zooms happening in the house, one of us had to start taking zooms outside but it was too cold to be comfortable outside. This heater arrived on time and was fairly easy to assemble thanks to others who have posted about the screws. Took it out and had it directed at me and I didn’t even need my jacket anymore. The first time I fired up the heater, it worked just fine. The second time I found the starter to be inoperative – there was no spark at the point where the gas needed to be ignited. After a considerable number of attempts, I happened to notice that there was a spark – in the wrong place. It was along in the back along the wire that that connects the button that needs to be depressed and the terminal point at the front of the heater. Some electrical tape fixed the problem, but I was pretty disappointed to encounter a situation like this the second time I happened to use the device!
A small cook stove with a blue flame is good. This product is better. It has a lot of surface area and the flame can then burn hotter. I received it and am contemplating building something around it for safety. The only thing like this is hot coals glowing in a wood fire. Seems to be an effective patio heater – two complaints and a suggestion: complaint [1], it is annoying that the product has to be disconnected from power source when it is not in use [if not, the remote control lights an annoying bright lavender glare] – put a power override switch on it!; complaint [2], the power cord is too short to allow use without an extension cord or power strip, which you admonish not to use! [you either need to modify something to allow use of a heavy duty commercial power strip, or put a longer cord on it. The suggestion, make the price more reasonable.
