The directions were weak and adapter ( for large Igloo Dog house} didn't match properly. Had to go on to YouTube to figure out how to make it work. The Igloo is a constant curve making something that is not built for the curve turns into a little more work. The adapter did not compensate for the curve but I did get it installed and I am happy with it and my dog is also. The heat shield needs to be a little lager and more reflective the outside of the dog house gets hotter than I personally would like. I would still recommend it.cmswin
The bracket is supposed to fit an igloo style dog house. The dog house is curved the bracket is flat which makes it difficult to drill mounting holes for the bracket. The mounting holes on the heater were not in the correct location for the bracket (had to drill bracket for heater mounting). It came with a heat shield that did not mount correctly. Bought this for our older dog who now has to contend with the younger one pulling bedding out to position into sun. Now bedding stays in house, dogs prefer dog house now and they even smell better, not that musty smell. Extremely happy customer here. One of those products I should have bought earlier. The Good- Its got a small footprint. Works good in a 20' by 15' room. Its energy efficient. Its 8000 BTU's. It was packaged very well and arrived without damage. It's Wi-Fi enabled and Has great instructions that allowed me to easily connect to my phone. It was easily installed and worked right out of the box. The Bad- It's got a small footprint. This is not an extremely powerful unit. The filter area is small and doesn't completely cover the inlet area letting in debris through the open areas. one issue that turned out not to be an issue was that when the air condition compressor went off because the desired temp had been met, the unit stopped vs continuing to keep the fan running. what i found out was this was because i inadvertently had the 'smart' or 'eco' temp feature turned on. clearly to save energy, this feature will click everything off when the correct temp has been reached…which i likely will use when i go to sleep. however, when i'm in the room with the air conditioner on, i wish to have the fan remain on…and am very happy to have discovered what was causing it to go off. i've noticed other reviewers thinking the fan normally stops, but that is true only when you have the energy saver mode on.johnnyjohnny

Now Walmart will not refund my purchase price of $519 because it was " a third party purchase". And the Third party says it only honors refund/replace for 30 days. Got ripped of for $519! This unit was easy to install & looks good. The condensation pan has a drain feature for very humid climates. The louvers allow for air flow in three directions at once. For maximum efficiency I set the fan on low and avoid the "E/Saver" mode. This is most efficient because it does not allow the air in the room to stratify. I bought 2 last February 2018 at a good price. The filter area is large and I like the indicator for changing filter. The design is almost just like my Frederick a/c but it doesn’t have the heater strip or indicator to change filter. So, when this a/c requires filter to be cleaned, I change the Frederick. Usually I’m colder then my wife and may need heat in colder weather. Also grandson stays and heater is safer than floor model heaters. Easy to install by myself. Had an older model LG before and lasted about 6 years. (Better than the Frigidaire a/c I had about 3 years). I bought a pair of the 18KBTU units for our vacation home in NH. Selecting the the option that included the "Comfort Value Kit" for no extra charge was a "no-brainer". It included 25' of line set, condensate tubing, thread sealant and a surge suppressor. Be sure to buy a line 4" set cover, raintight 30A disconnect switch, either a pad or wall mounting bracket for the outdoor unit, flexible liquidtite conduit, fittings, circuit breaker and cable to run between the panel and outdoor unit. Inside, I opted for bigger & longer screws and a few toggle bolts to secure the "mounting plate" to the wall. I found the 2-1/2" diameter wall sleeve to be very tight to pass the lineset, condensate and power lines through – a 3" (or larger size) would have made the work -much- easier. Outside of this, the units install easily – more so if you or your helper are familiar with home construction and have the tools and skills to do the work. The outdoor units ships fully charged for up to 25' of line set. The line sets are NOT charged and can be readily cut to fit (you must connect at least 12' of line set (coil up the excess as needed) as per Gree). Use the sealant on refrigerant fitting threads and flares on line set. Use a tubing bender on line set when tight bends are needed. DO test and hold the connected line set under vacuum (and pressure with nitrogen if possible) prior to opening refrigerant valve on outdoor unit. The handheld thermostat has a lot of info on the screen and operates all of the functions of the system – including some mysterious icons that aren't on the indoor unit). The controller's cover feels a bit flimsy and always needs to be pressed closed. The Android Application is -horrible- and deserves just 0 stars mostly because it is nearly impossible to determine as to what the current settings are – or if the system is even on or not – without changing settings. I plan on purchasing a 3rd party wifi thermostat to use to control the system when away from the house because of that. I use this from March or April thru all of November.stevecon

I installed my unit astound one month ago. The install process is easy, and the hook up between the head unit and the condenser is very simple. The unit is doing very well in our home. It is quiet, effective and good looking. We did have one issue with the unit. Upon starting the unit up, I found that the unit would only put out a/c temperatures. I thought that this was going to be a big problem dealing with this getting fixed, but I was wrong. I contacted Ingram's through email and I got response from the tech services. The tech was knowledgeable and ran me through a quick restart series to try. When this did not work, the tech let me know that he would send out a whole new unit or I could have a local HVAC tech come out and diagnose/fix the issue…… And ingram's would reimburse all costs. I chose to have a local tech come out. The tech came, found that the connection on the reversal valve was not made. The tech fixed the situation inside of an hour, we started it up and it's been producing great for us since. Besides the small hiccup with the reversal valve wire, the unit and the tech support has been great.Mikey82

Purchased this product for a new construction 720 square foot garage with 12' ceilings. Installation was relatively easy for someone mechanically inclined. My AC guy performed the steps necessary to bring the system online. Cooling is quick and even throughout the garage, thermostat set at 78* in the AZ desert heat, performs great. Our winters are not severe, but chilly. Thermostat set to 68* in heating mode brings the shop up to temp within 30 minutes. Probably the best feature is how quiet the unit is. Just bought this unit SLACHT128 on Ebay last week (01-09237-12099) and started using two days ago. No issues yet. I bought it's little sister the SLACHT108 10000 btu model six (6) weeks ago and was able to test the heat function this month when it was in the 40s outside. so impressed with the heat function I ordered this higher btu model. So far Ive been able to ditch mult floor space heaters and just use the one of these to maintain approx 2/3 of my downstairs (1000sf) at 72 degrees. With this second one downstairs I'm expecting to be able to use as primary heat for 3000sf since heat rises upstairs. This is also a year where I want electric heat and not rely on expensive natural gas furnace for heatbrbog-53
Unit delivered promptly. Been using it for 2 1/2 weeks. Window kit is better than another brand i used. Works well in cool or dehumidifier modes. Just got this AC today and I am completely happy with it. With the temperature being over 90 degrees outside, this AC unit completely cooled my room and I only set it to 70 degrees. After about 2 hours it was just too cold in my room so I had to turn up the temp (that's a good thing). My previous AC never got this cold and this unit cools all the way down to 60 degrees! Even with 100 degree weather outside I can't imagine ever using this AC at it's coldest setting. So far I am very pleased 🙂rolandj777

So far it cools very nicely. A couple quick notes and the reason It's not getting five stars. First, I had to drill a drain hole as the unit was filling up with water. The manual says to make sure the drain plug is removed but I couldn't find any drain plug. Second, the install instructions are absolutely awful. We researched at length to decide on this model. This ac installed just fine in a sliding window where a typical window unit doesn’t fit. Sized properly for the room, it cools well. The air intake can be adjusted to recirculate indoor air or to draw outdoor air in—if you’re not cooling it can serve as a fan. This ac is quiet enough for the bedroom, and the remote has a number of features in addition to being handy. For example, you can set the ac to monitor the temperature at the remote, which makes it possible to achieve cooling where it matters most. First off this is a great ac unit; however, make sure you know the thickness of your roof when ordering. Mine was 5 1/2 inches. I was under the impression that i just needed the thick roof kit (which I ended up not needing, just wanted it so that i knew the bolts would be long enough). The bolts in the thick roof kit are the same length as the ones in that came with the air conditioner. So if your roof thickness is 5 1/2 inches are greater do yourself a favor and go find some M8 threaded rod so you have it and are prepared before you the rain hits and you have an open hole in the roof. Once you go through that frustration and get it installed the AC unit is amazing and both heat and AC works great and the remote is a great accessory!. And customer service is great! had a cracked shroud from shipping (not bad enough to be replaced, but not good for a brand new 1300 dollar ac unit), called customer service and got refunded $150 for a replacement shroud with just emailing over a few pictures! All in all great unit and just buy it already! just be prepared to need longer boltsTrevor S.
Incorrect installation instructions are worse than no instructions. For a company that promotes sales to DIY'ers, you should be ashamed of providing incorrect instructions. For a small product, incorrect instructions probably arent a big deal. But incorrect instructions for a $1,000 air conditioner is a different story. The instructions encourage the owner to place sealant between the gasket on the air conditioner and the rubber roof. A big no no. The instructions also state that if your 14 x 14 opening is greater than 3 3/8" that you need to purchase the longer bolts in the thick roof kit. This is also incorrect. There are also several other small errors in the manual. After two phone calls to RecPro in attempt to get answers from two giddy customer service reps, I was able to clarify that these directions were wrong. I wasted significant time trying to find sealant and the last minute and running around looking for longer bolts as I had several people lined up to help me lift the unit on the roof the next day. Both Reps knew the installation manual was incorrect. Why would RecPro not provide a simple sheet of paper detailing the errors in the installation manual versus allowing their customers to be misled and confused possibly leading to an expensive faulty installation? I am beyond aggravated. Not sure I will purchase from RecPro again after this experience.Robert S.
Bought this from RecPro in July 2021 to replace the original Penguin II that came on our 2021 truck camper. The original Penguin II's fan sound level was too noisy for us, even on low speed. After using the Houghton 2801 9.5K from RecPro a few times over the past year, it has been great. Much quieter. My Houghton 2801 had no soft start or ptcr device installed. I did install a MicroAir Easy Start to make the AC more easily start from my Honda 2200i generator. Turns out that my Houghton 2801 has exactly the same manufacturer and model number compressor as the 11K Penguin II it replaced. The big difference to reduce sound levels is from Houghton use of the dual air circulation fans. Installation was easy. Because the Houghton AC uses its own remote control to operate the camper's original AC & heat thermostat was not removed and replaced with a simple heat only RV thermostat to control the furnace. In summary, I would do this all over again.Don W.

The install was fairly easy, have to be careful with copper lines not to kink them. I have been very pleased with performance with no mechanical issues. The company could give more info on installation and operation of units, trouble shooting info or help line would be nice. I'd like to share my positive experience with Comfort Up that started almost two years ago. When we finally made the decision to have a mini split system installed on two floors of our multi-family rental property, quality and price were important to us. The folks at Comfort Up were very helpful in comparing all the different systems available and the Gree 42,000 BTU Quad-Zone Mini Split A/C Heat Pump met all our requirements however, I unfortunately took almost two months to make the purchase and when I finally went online to do so the specific units we wanted were sold out. As winter set in, we decided to wait until the following spring for another promotional sale to make our purchase. Who would have anticipated a global pandemic would shut down just about everything and so inevitably another year passed, as we again waiting for spring and now the end of a pandemic. This year more determined than the last two, we went online early and were able to purchase our two mini split systems, on sale and installed quickly by a local licensed contractor as the pandemic restrictions began lifting. The directions were confusing and partly because a wrong tubing was sent for one of the mini split connections to the main unit. After several hours with a HVAC technician at $165/hr. all problems were corrected including buying the proper size copper hose connector.
