I'm completely blown away by this product. I stopped giving apoquel to my dog, not only because of the expense (costing more than $200 a month), but also because of all the reviews I have read about the danger to a dog's immune system with prolonged use. But my large German shepherd continued to scratch and scratch and scratch. After the first application of Skin Tonic Spray for Pets & People, his itching subsided greatly. After the second application a few days later, he stopped scratching completely. I don't know how you managed it, but this stuff is gold! I have intentionally waited to write a review because I wanted to give enough time to see if the Fidoplex was going to make a difference. I bought this supplement a year ago because my cavalier king charles spaniel had recently experienced two bad episodes with ivdd and she’s only 4 years old. It’s so painful to see your little one suffer like that and the treatment is slow to help, although the laser treatments and steroids did return her to her old self. Not wanting to see her struggle to manage everyday activity, I was ready to try what I could to prevent recurrences. I read about Fidoplex and decided to give it a try. She hasn’t had a problem for a whole year now! I wouldn’t be without this wonderful supplement. She takes it like a treat every morning and she’s as happy and active as ever! We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. The vets thought it was a staph infection and put him on antibiotics & steroids. The issue reappeared after he finished the meds. The other vet thought he had skin allergies & put him on a 2nd round of steroids & antibiotics. That's when we searched online and found Wondercide. The Skin Tonic worked! He stopped licking the two areas and his skin healed. He has a healthy coat of new fur where the bald spots were. Lessons learned: vaccinating our boy caused him to have skin problems. Great solution for anxious dogs. Our Sheltie/German Shepard Dog Mix tends to lick a specific spot on her foreleg to the point of licking away skin and generating abrasions on exposed skin. This product has helped us manage this behavior to the point of fur having grown back over the location and her dramatic reduction in this behavior without outward symptoms or side-effects. I stopped into my local Petco store and the Just Food For Dogs rep recommended this for my dog's separation anxiety. She said she used it for her dog and it worked great. It does not work at all for my dog and it will be getting returned today. I do not recommend this to anyone.Siamese1127
I had high hopes for this to work with my year old lab. He suffers from outdoor allergies. I felt like this product made it worst for him. He was itching like crazy. As soon as I stopped giving these supplements, his itching subsided but yet still scratching, so off again I go to look for something to help with his allergies. Purchased this product with not much confidence made a huge difference in my GSD allergies. Sprayed on the area he was chewing when he would begin chewing. It gave him instant relief, he now comes to get the area sprayed when he chews. I am going to use the same product which is an ointment to see how well it does. Rosebud was biting at her nether parts due to itching. This applied liberally relieved her jitters. I got this because we had two other dogs several years ago who were both affected by itching in different doggy-parts (stomach, behind, etc) and I used a similar product for them which also worked well. My little chihuahua will not eat her Pet Fresh food with this ground up in the food. I cut the tiny pink pill in half and crushed it into her bowl. She will smell her food and walk away, so this has not worked for her itchy problem. The pills might work for other breeds, but not for me. I bought this oil for a new addition, a senior dog who is blind, deaf & itchy, with some loss of coat. It helps with her itching, BUT the product turned to a very thick, gloppy mess that resisted being pumped in very short order after opening. That the product has to be shaken well before every use needs to be more prominent, & shaking it causes the oil to escape the pump & fly everywhere. I have 6 inside dogs so I can't say that this product didn't do what it says I may not be able be able to tell because I have so many inside furbabies. I do like the fact that it comes in a refillable bottle and is not scented. The bottle is easily reusable after you empty it I do like the fact that they sent it empty to save on the weight and their carbon print or whatever it is called.
