FAST depends what you spray it on. Some weeds go down in a day or three, my vines get a few brown spots but in several weeks seem as much thankful for the drink as anything else. They've resisted everything else I've sprayed on them too, including 41% glyphosate. Masses of sprouts on my Tree of Heaven stumps have started to wilt a bit after two weeks and a second heavy application so maybe if I keep after those for a couple months I might finally win that war. It is a tricky balance trying to kill off invading masses without killing off the trees we want to keep. So far RM18 has shown the most promise and my next escalation will be direct full strength application to cut ends and stumps as described in the instructions. I might also try adding a surfactant to see if that will get through to the vines of if I have to keep digging them out by the roots.HalDIY

This isn’t my first rodeo applying herbicides and or pesticides. The product WAS mixed and applied as per the instructions. There were no visible results for a week. Then it required an additional 10 days to fully kill the weeds and grass etc. 17 days from application is completely unacceptable for the price of this product. A basic run of the mill non-branded or nameless herbicide provides faster results. It’s as if with the increase in price due to inflation the active ingredients in the product has been reduced. This product kills two weeds I have that glysophate won't touch. But I have found that the lower amount of glysophate in this product ends up not being strong enough for the other weeds. I blend the 41% glysophate with this product and then up the oz / gallon making it a bit hotter. Then it does a good job. I have found that even on calm days and keeping the spray 4 feet from trunk of sapling fruit trees, it killed them anyway. It says you can replant edibles 1 month from spraying. I purchased a gallon of RM 18 and mixed it as directed on the container. I applied it to approximately 800 – 1000 feet of fence and after 2 weeks had zero results. purchased the 2.5 gallon container of RM 43 and mixed as directed and applied to the same area as I applied the RM 18. after 2 weeks everything in the applied area was dead. it stayed dead for about 2 – 3 weeks and now all the vegetation area is flourishing like it was never sprayed.gulf_coast_farmer

I always start my weed control program every season with a couple of applications of preen weed control. With proper cutting and watering, I can have a nice thick lush lawn by mid summer. It should not be necessary to apply after mid summer because the thick grass should choke out weeds pretty naturally. Also, I get better green up after midsummer just by using a high nitrogen fertilizer to avoid possible stress from weed control products. Touch up areas is ok if you find a clover patch or leftover dandelions. Be sure to cut about 2 inches high, don't bag clippings, and water if possible. Presto, best lawn on the block. I'm an avid gardener, so I use Preen's pre-emergent herbicide in my garden every year with good success, and thought I'd try this product to help with the lawn weeds. Either this product does not work as advertised, or I'm doing something horribly wrong. I mowed the lawn, then applied the product the following morning when the grass was wet with dew (enough that my shoes got wet after a few passes). I could see the granules on the leaves of many of the weeds (see photo). We did not receive any rain following the application, and two days later I used the lawn sprinkler as suggested. Fall: Apply when henbit, chickweed, white clover, ground ivy, lawn burweed and other listed broadleaf weeds are young and actively growing with adequate soil moisture for best results. Fall applications will control weeds that may otherwise go dormant through the winter and resprout the following spring. How to use: Before use: 1. Shake well before each use. 2. Open flip top closure. 3. Remove sprayer from its slot beneath the bottle handle and unwrap the tubing. Pull hose plug to completely extend tubing. 4. Firmly press hose plug into opening in cap until it snaps into place. 5. Slide switch on hose plug counterclockwise to Open. 6. Adjust nozzle to desired setting. Spray or Stream. 7. Hold sprayer below the level of the container and prime by pumping trigger several times until product is dispensed. 8 Spray unwanted weeds until completely covered. After use: 1. To store, turn sprayer nozzle off. 2. Turn hose plug switch clockwise to Closed. 3. Do not disconnect hose. 4. Return sprayer to it slot. Hose can be pushed back into sprayer handle. Use tips: Some hard-to-kill weeds may require re-treatment. Waft at least two weeks between applications – some weeds can take that long to die. Spray during growing season when weeds are actively growing. For best results, mow lawn two to three days before treating weeds. To avoid risk of lawn injury, do not spray drought-stressed lawns. Watering immediately after treatment may wash away effectiveness. Wait until newly seeded grass is well established or after the third mowing before applying this product. Treated areas may be reseeded three to four weeks after application. Adjust nozzle to produce a coarse spray. Coarse sprays are less likely to drift. Avoid fine mists. If certain tough weeds are not dead within three weeks, repeat application to affected area[s] using spot treatment directions. Application to zoysia lawns when they are emerging from dormancy in the spring may cause lawn damage. Overapplication, especially at 90 degree F or higher, may cause lawn damage. Application to Bermudagrass may cause temporary yellowing, but full recovery can be expected. Storage and Disposal: Pesticide Storage: Store in a cool, dry area away from heat or open flame. Where to use: Lawns-treats bluegrass, fescue zoysia (do not apply to zoysia grass just emerging from dormancy), Bermuda, perennial ryegrass. When to use: For best results, apply between 45 degrees F-90 degrees F. Above 45 degrees F, the better the weeds will be able to absorb the product. Lawn damage could happen above 90 degrees F. Shake well. Remove sticker. Open flip cap. Extend sprayer hose completely. Firmly insert block hose tip.

I live in Tennessee, Middle of the country so weed products usually work pretty well here. Wow, what a major disappointment in THIS PRODUCT. Read the label multiple times, made note of the weather (temperature range, rain, etc.), then made sure there’d be additional days in accordance with the label so there’d be plenty of time for this spray to work on the weeds. After 3 hours spraying in the exact patterns recommended on the label, I eagerly and hopefully waited. Waited additional days, noting a weed here or there start to brown. Waited some more days. Weeks later you can’t tell a single weed died. Nothing. Spectracide Weed Stop for Lawns is an overall good product when being judged by just the product and not the provided bottle spray adapter. Although the initial setup was very easy to do, after attempting to spray a garden bed with flowers, the spray nozzle leaked all over my hands and arms cause slight irritation to the skin. In order to properly use this product, I had to dump the contents into another off the shelf chemical sprayer for use. After doing this, the results were not only satisfy and immediate, but killed off only the unwanted weeds and not my flowers. I always start my weed control program every season with a couple of applications of preen weed control. With proper cutting and watering, I can have a nice thick lush lawn by mid summer. It should not be necessary to apply after mid summer because the thick grass should choke out weeds pretty naturally. Also, I get better green up after midsummer just by using a high nitrogen fertilizer to avoid possible stress from weed control products. Touch up areas is ok if you find a clover patch or leftover dandelions. Be sure to cut about 2 inches high, don't bag clippings, and water if possible. Presto, best lawn on the block. I mixed this as the directions said in a 15 gallon sprayer on my tractor. I sprayed about half the product which took about 8 weeks to kill everything. I went to us the sprayer today and it didn't work as leaving this product in the sprayer left a layer of slimy jell on the bottom of the sprayer clogging up my pump. I had to pull the whole sprayer apart to clean it out and disassemble the pump to clean it. I wouldn't recommend this stuff to anyone. I'd give it zero stars if it let me. It killed the weeds and some grass. It doesn't permanently kill weeds. They dry up and die but come right back. It does however kill every bird, squirrel, and rabbit that gets food from your yard. We have not seen this issue with other brands. Only this one. I don't feel like it is safe for pets to go in the yard even after this is dry. Seriously dead birds everywhere and we still have weeds. Was pretty excited to review this product since I was just getting started with renovating my yard, this all-in-one spray did it's job. I followed the instructions that are on the back of the bottle. I sprayed my yard well before we actually mowed it. Waited about a week after I started nothing that it was killing all of the weed. My grass really needed something that was going to help it grown better without the weeds and make it a bit healthier. It does look a lot greener since I started using this product it has removed about 85% of the weeds so far, due to our bad weather (floods) right now might have to restart the process. You can also used it on your flower beds or little garden that's where I saw the quickest improvement. Over all I really was impressed but the quality of the product, the simplicity of how to use it and apply it was a simple 1,2 3 step that anyone can do it. It a battery operated device which I feel it makes it a lot easier to use. Since you just have to hold the bottle and spray away in the areas that are necessary. I like that its reusable so you can just buy a galon and attach the sprayer to the bottle and go to work. I do recommend the product to anyone who needs to get their yard back on track this really works wonders. Especially if you have lots of stubborn weeds it's really effective and efficient.Flaca13

I just used 9 bottles of this concentrate on my 2 acre property 1 1/2 weeks ago and am very disappointed. It killed some dandelions and other broadleaf weeds, but didn’t do a thing for the mature crabgrass I have everywhere. The instructions say I can retreat hard to treat weeds in 2 weeks, but I don’t want to waste another $100+, when the first application didn’t do anything. I liked that the product came with a measuring cup that was easy to use. I sometimes struggle with adding the correct amount of chemicals so it came in handy. Instructions were easy to follow and the product slowly killed the weeds and grass in the areas that I sprayed. The product says that it kills the roots and I am hoping the results are lasting and I don't need to apply another round of the solution. I've used other chemicals that claim to last a certain amount of time but didn't. To be fair I live in an area that has weeds that don't completely die, they multiply. 🙂 They come back with a vengeance. The measuring cup is kind of flimsy so is the turn knob that guides you on fill and pour. I recommend using gloves as some of the chemicals spilled out of the measuring cup that is attached to the bottle. The pour option didn't stop the solution from entering into the fill cup. I also love the fact that it immediately starts working and even if it rains within 30 minutes of using the product it will not wash away. I have had a lot of success with this product. It does a great job killing weeds on sidewalk and in my lawn. This product allows you to see results normally within a day. I would suggest getting the sprayer which is sold separately. Generally, this period begins or corresponds to the first time that you can see crabgrass in your lawn. Use two applications at the same rate with a 14-day interval for dense populations. Foxtail (Green, Giant and Yellow): Spring and early summer: For the best results, apply this product to foxtail during the early growth stages or when foxtail is 1 to 4 inches in height. This product does what it is supposed to do. If you have weeds in your lawn, this will kill them. I used it as a spot treatment for weeds I saw visible. In my part of the country it has been extremely hot and dry so my lawn hasn’t been the best at all. The weeds are actually thriving better than my lawn is. This product will still work but it takes some time to apply it. Also, this is a refill, so you need to make sure you have an application wand from the original RTU container. I do wish it was faster acting. The weeds will die but it takes a couple days for them to show signs of death. Pulling them is mare laborious but quicker. The bottle has a fixture that attaches to the end of my hose. It was easy for me to twist my hose onto the attachment. There are three settings on the bottle, an off-setting, a water-only setting, and a spray setting. The spray setting mixes just the right amount of water and Weed B-gon as it projects out of the bottle. I like that I can flip to the water only setting while I walk to my next weed. The handle was comfortable to hold, and fit in my hand securely. I was able to spray my yard quickly and efficiently. The mixture reaches quite a distance. It sprays about 20 to 25 feet, when turned on. After I sprayed my weeds, I went out the next day and the majority of the clover was withered and dying. There were still some spots that looked the same as when I started. I think that it needs more than one application. I was happy that it did just wither the Clover, and not my grass. Was pretty excited to review this product since I was just getting started with renovating my yard, this all-in-one spray did it's job. I followed the instructions that are on the back of the bottle. I sprayed my yard well before we actually mowed it. Waited about a week after I started nothing that it was killing all of the weed. My grass really needed something that was going to help it grown better without the weeds and make it a bit healthier. It does look a lot greener since I started using this product it has removed about 85% of the weeds so far, due to our bad weather (floods) right now might have to restart the process. You can also used it on your flower beds or little garden that's where I saw the quickest improvement. Over all I really was impressed but the quality of the product, the simplicity of how to use it and apply it was a simple 1,2 3 step that anyone can do it. It a battery operated device which I feel it makes it a lot easier to use. Since you just have to hold the bottle and spray away in the areas that are necessary. I like that its reusable so you can just buy a galon and attach the sprayer to the bottle and go to work. I just used 9 bottles of this concentrate on my 2 acre property 1 1/2 weeks ago and am very disappointed. It killed some dandelions and other broadleaf weeds, but didn’t do a thing for the mature crabgrass I have everywhere. The instructions say I can retreat hard to treat weeds in 2 weeks, but I don’t want to waste another $100+, when the first application didn’t do anything. Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer did exactly as the bottle specifies and was able to kill off all unwanted weeds and grass throughout my yard and driveway. I loved how easy and simple it was to set and use and the directions were easy to understand. The only issue I have with this product was waste management, after mixing 2 gallons worth, I ended up with a little left. Not only the bottle nor the website gave good directions on disposal, so I just went over different spots again until I ran out. All in all, I would highly recommend this product, immediate results before the end of the day!Whitley89

This Spectracide Weed and Grass Killer with Extended Control is absolutely amazing! I followed the directions and since this is a concentrate, it needed to be mixed with water. The process was super simple and within a few minutes, I was spraying my yard. Within hours, I could visibility see the difference in my lawn. I used this product in my back and front yards as well as around my pool and sidewalks where I have shrubs and I was ecstatic that it didn’t harm any of my plants! I am very impressed with this product as it not only kills the weeds but prevents them from growing back for months! Since this is concentrated, I am happy that I will get a lot of use out of this one bottle. This best part of using this product is I will no longer have to hand pick my weeds! I am super impressed with weed and grass killer as my lawn has never looked so good! The directions were very detailed on how to mix since this formula is concentrated. The process was super simple and within a few minutes, I was spraying my yard. I was shocked that I could visibly see the results after only a few short hours! I have a large front and back yard and pulling weeds is a very time consuming job. I am happy that I found a product that actually works and kills the weeds on contact. Ortho Ground Clear works alot faster than other vegetation killers. After spraying, The next day the weeds were wilting and turning yellowish brown. More sensitive weeds will die quicker. I use this to kill the weeds in between the cracks of my sidewalks and driveway. Also use to spot spray tough weeds in my lawn and along my fence. I mix 24fl.oz. of product per gallon of water to treat up to 300 sq. ft. I have had success in killing Poison Ivy,Dandelions, Crabgrass,Buttonweed,Goose grass and various types of other weeds. I was surprised to find no instructions on the label on how to dilute it and then surprised when I read on their website how much was needed for a gallon of weed killing mixture. Days later I expected results of dead weeds but dousing then like I did apparently want enough to do the job. See for yourself with the photos. My advice: buy something else or be prepared to use a lot of product to do the job and be prepared to do it twice. …or just buy a different product.NorthIdahoGuy

I stood at the Home Depot aisle and contemplated about which product to pick. I went with this one as it was probably less costlier than other similar ones on the shelve. There are no “how to use” instructions which made it a little difficult to dilute but once I got it from here, i sprayed weeds on my driveway at around 9 PM and later that night it rained pretty well and I was a bit disappointed. However, when I came back home today at 2:00 PM the weeds have withered out. I could not BELIEVE how effective this product could turn out. My whole family was in a surprise. We couldn’t be more happier and have now sprayed on all weeds in the driveway. Thanks Ortho, for such an amazing solution to the creepy problem!

This is a good 2-4-D herbicide. I like it over the Amine 2-4-D alternative as it is less temperature dependent. I has a higher percentage of 2-4-D, but according to the materials I read, the Amine is more effective. However, the LV400 does not stink like the Amine. I used the Amine one time and I could smell it all summer long every time I went outside. The best and most effective herbicide I have used also manufactured by Gordon's is Speed Zone. It is about twice as expensive and a combination of 4 herbicides in one. LV400 does a good job on the normal broad leaf weeds.Frankee

My lawn is about 2 acres and is in pretty good shape. Maybe 2 to 3% junk and the rest is nice grass. Mixed as per instructions and sprayed on a warm springs day with no rain in the forecast. After a week the dandelions started shriveling up. After about 3 weeks the dandelions were all dead however any other green weeds remained untouched. There are much better products on the market. I would look elsewhere.

I am on the 2nd week since applying this to the pasture. It took out the yellow flowered waxy weeds fast. Other weeds things like poke weed, thistle and such were a little slower. BUT it is working, just not super fast. Just as a caution, don't go over the same area more than once or twice. I have an area that had to be gone over multiple times and it really stunted the grass as well.DustyRider
