Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. Im not a vet but am thinking whatever it was it was some type of fungal infection. Benefits of product; it wasnt expensive, was easy to apply, and has a light pleasant scent.Debbie

I am so thankful to have found this today! My poor dog could not stop scratching and licking under his front legs, and they were raw and bleeding. He was whimpering but would not stop. In order to get the correct amount for your dog's weight, you may need to order more than one package. According to the manufacturers instructions, you need to administer one gram of product (daily) for every ten pounds of animal weight. So, up to: 10 lbs = 1 gram; 20 lbs = 2 grams; 30 lbs = 3 grams; 40 lbs = 4 grams; 50 lbs = 5 grams; 60 lbs = 6 grams, etc. So, if your dog weighs 11 to 20 lbs, you need to order a 2 gram (medium dog) size and give him 1 packet per day for 3 days. But if your dog weighs 21-30 lbs, you need to order a 1 gram (small dog) AND a 2 gram (medium dog) package, and give your dog a packet from each size for 3 days. A puppy was pretty much dropped in my lap several days ago, her belly was SO bloated as she hadn't had any vet care prior. Before even getting her home I pondered the wormers at our local Petco, selected this one. On day 3 the worms came out, though her poor bloated belly was reduced after the first day. Will use this again if worming can't wait for the vet. Due to her weight we did have to weigh out the medicine (half a gram ='s 1/4 teaspoon), and you must have an accurate weight on the dog and an accurate measuring device for it to be as effective as it can be without giving too much. during the late fall to the end of winter I give these to my dogs to prevent worms. Then early spring I switch over to Heartguard. You get three packs. I use two packs per dog per month. According to the manufacturers instructions, you need to administer one gram of product (daily) for every ten pounds of animal weight. A puppy was pretty much dropped in my lap several days ago, her belly was SO bloated as she hadn't had any vet care prior. Before even getting her home I pondered the wormers at our local Petco, selected this one. On day 3 the worms came out, though her poor bloated belly was reduced after the first day. Will use this again if worming can't wait for the vet. Due to her weight we did have to weigh out the medicine (half a gram ='s 1/4 teaspoon), and you must have an accurate weight on the dog and an accurate measuring device for it to be as effective as it can be without giving too much. I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 16mg 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. Helped my pup with her ear infection. But it came back two months later. So instead I googled and found that if I got Monistat and Hydrocortisone (equal parts) and applied it to the outer ear affected then thinned it out with some water and dropped it into her ear, it was just as good.

It’s incurable and usually tears up the edges of the ear from constant cell overgrowth (auto immune) and dogs will be plagued with constant ear issues and itching. I've always liked Zymox products, but this one really impressed me! GSD/BC mix has had continual ear issues since having a hematoma drained in her right ear. The ear lays over and is full of thicker tissue which seems to hold in a ton of moisture. This last bout of pain and scratching was making her (and me!) absolutely crazy and, after a week of use, the regular Zymox I always have on hand just wasn't cutting it. My Pomeranian is 14 1/2 yrs old. She was diagnosed with trachea collapse. The doctor suspected she had Cushings Disease, and I'm quite sure she has. She has all the symptoms of bloated belly, hair loss, skin infections. too thirsty and urination problems. I bought the Adrenal support drops, and I'm beyond amazed at how well she is doing. She no longer goes into a type of coma when she sleeps and would urinate on herself if I didn't get her up, which was sometimes difficult. She is now alert and somewhat playful again. I do give her 5 drops 5 times a day–a lot, but she is worth it. I thought I was going to have to put her to sleep back in May, but it is wonderful to see her doing so well in September. This really is amazing stuff. My vet said that my 14 year old jack russell's days were numbered. She was clearly suffering with kidney disease (drinking water excessively, involuntary urinating, lethargic, and generally unhappy and it got to where we had to let here out to go in the middle of the night or she would go in the house – and going downhill fast). Other than an increase in thirst levels, my dog Tifa didn't have any other symptoms of note when she was diagnosed with Cushings and I decided to put her on the Adrenal Support and HMR Lignans. I wanted to see actual blood test proof of improvements, not just go by my personal assessment that she seems like she is drinking less water – I could just be seeing what I want to see. Tifa is 45 lbs and has been getting 8 drops 3x/day of the Adrenal Support and 40 mg of the HMR Lignans daily. After 6 weeks of this dosage, I ask my vet to test her Cortisol levels. Her resting Coritisol was 6.9 before starting treatment. At 6 weeks (last week) it registered as 5.1. A drop of 26% ! These 2 supplements have gotten her almost to normal range – wonderful! I plan to have her tested again at 10 weeks and we shall see if she continues good progress and gets into the normal range. I have intentionally waited to write a review because I wanted to give enough time to see if the Fidoplex was going to make a difference. I bought this supplement a year ago because my cavalier king charles spaniel had recently experienced two bad episodes with ivdd and she’s only 4 years old. It’s so painful to see your little one suffer like that and the treatment is slow to help, although the laser treatments and steroids did return her to her old self. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. The vets thought it was a staph infection and put him on antibiotics & steroids. The issue reappeared after he finished the meds. We have been giving this to our rescued 9 year-old, 13 lb. cat since March of this year. He has a condition called Hyperesthesia, which causes terrible rippling of his back and according to the vet, feels like needles sticking into the skin. He was getting a monthly shots of Naloxone to keep it under control. Those visits were quite expensive and caused more stress to the cat. Due to an emergency that arose, we went to another wonderful vet. She noticed the rippling and suggested we might try Soloquin. We gave him 1 each day for 2 days and the rippling ceased completely. It has been amazing! They are soft and we break them up and mix them into his canned food. We were told to keep giving him 1/2 daily and he has been nearly symptom-free. We only notice slight rippling when he feels extremely stressed (fireworks on July 4th or small children visitors). I have used Solliquin ever since it first came out for my cat who is absolutely buckwild. He just takes it as needed, particularly when the landscapers come by because that is a high stress event for him. Now that we have a dog, I give it to her to help with anxiety at day care, the vet’s office, during thunderstorms, or any other time she may get a little stressed out. If your pet is just anxious all the time, it will probably work best if you give it daily as directed to keep it at a consistent level in their system and it can take a few weeks to build up to a therapeutic level in their system.Nancy

We took our cat to the vet after he woke me up in the early morning howling in pain trying to urinate in the litter box. We discovered he had a UTI and his bladder was very inflamed and full of struvite stones. After a round of antibiotics and other meds to relax his urethra and dissolve the stones, along with new prescription diet food, I started researching other ongoing preventative maintenance options. I ran across Tinkle Tonic in an online forum and was shocked at all of the glowing reviews of how it had been a miracle worker for their pet's issues. So far Tinkle Tonic has been working very well. I see large clumps of pee in the litter box now. We give him about .30 ml. in the morning with regular wet food and then his prescribed UTI Hill's Science Diet food at night. An overnight stay at the vet and a midnight run to the emergency vet for fear of stones or crystals for our cat who was diagnosed with FLUTD since he was a kitten, and being told each visit that it was just chronic inflammation (a frustrating but common side effect of FLUTD) and there wasnt much the vets could do other than pain meds and anti inflammatories. Needless to say we were ready to try some additional preventative care and heard good things about this product. Its been 2 months now of adding the tonic to our cat's prescription wet food and so far so good. He doesn't notice or seem to mind the taste, no adverse effects of adding the recommended dose to his diet and best of all hes been happy and healthy. I wouldn't recommend this as a treatment option (vets are a must) but would for those looking for additional preventative measures, especially for cats with chronic inflammation associated with FLUTD.Pincurlgirl

Seems to really help. It doesn't take much, either. I only give my cats 3 drops per day, and that seems to be enough to keep things flowing the way they should. One of my males had a problem when I introduced a new cat into the household, he wasn't stopped up, but did start holding it in and that caused inflammation. After a vet visit and meds from the vet to help him through the initial problems, this has helped keep him from holding it in again. It won't work miracles, if a cat, especially a boy, doesn't urinate for a period of 24 – 48 hours, take him in to the vet to make sure there's no blockage since that can very quickly become life-threatening, but this is good for maintaining things in working order.ageek33k

I have had a war with fleas every year starting early spring. Blackflag is on the front lines of that war.
