1. Company Of Animals Pet Corrector Dog Training Aid – 50 Ml Can
Product Details:
The pet corrector emits a hiss of compressed gas (hfc 134a) which is completely safe for animals and produces a broad spectrum sound (white noise) varying from a low frequency rumble to a high frequency hiss to interrupt a dog's unwanted behaviour. the overall effect is to grab the attention of a dog. dogs exhibit a wide range of reactions according to their hearing sensitivity and prior conditioning. nevertheless, almost all dogs initially react to the pet corrector because the sound is genetically programmed to be associated with danger, such as from the hiss of a snake, an angry swan or the buzz of a dangerous insect. other uses the pet corrector is not just for dogs. on dr mugford's farm, one young horse has a playful (and cruel) tendency to chase and bite sheep. another, enjoyed chewing post and rail fences. both 'misbehaviours' can be interrupted, even from a distance, by the pet corrector. cats can misbehave too! the pet corrector can be used effectively to interrupt their stalking and catching birds and to stop them using furniture as scratching posts. the holster does not come with a 50 ml canister.

We absolutely ADORE this product for our dog! She is a mixed breed whose dominant behaviours reflect her Australian Cattle Dog DNA, and when she gets fixated on something (our cat, our food, us) this Pet Correcter is the only thing we've found that can bring her out of the fixation. We tried the coins in a can, the clicker, a whistle, other devices, and this is the one to which she responds every time. We love that it's not harmful, it hasn't caused her any kind of startle or nervous behaviours upon hearing the sound, and it has enabled us to use verbal 'hisses' when we don't have it at hand to break her fixation. We love it, and so glad Petco carries it in the larger size!Cerebreality
So I bought this today , mostly out of because my nerves are gone from a dog I have that barks at EVERYTHING. I have other dogs and if they even move to change their laying position or I get up to go into other room, she barks non stop. So when I went into the store today and talked to the team member about what I was wanting and her behaviors she suggested this product. I came home and when she started barking and I told her to stop and when she didn't I sprayed it.,it was an IMMEDIATE quiet. then she did it again and I said no, she continued to bark so I sprayed it again. and WOW she stopped. I have to say I am so happy right now, with having 4 dogs 3 of whom like to bark it is hardly ever quiet in here, someone moves or knocks on door or it is feeding time it is a mad house in here. I LOVE IT AND I WILL BE BUYING MORE TO USE TO HELP TRAIN HER MORE. I asked her to stop tonight when my son grabbed trash bags ( another thing that sets her off) and she stopped when I asked her to… I will be calling the store I bought it from and thank the person whom helped me. Sorry this review is so long, but 6 yrs of this and nothing else has helped.renee513
I have a dog who had a very bad and dangerous habit of chasing cars. I tried everything to fix this including: high frequency sounds, treats and positive reinforcement, training, vibrations, physically restraining and even an e collar. Nothing worked, at least not consistently. I bought a can of this and my dog has stopped chasing cars after the FIRST spray! I dont even have to use it, just the sight of the can and he goes on his best behavior. It also has remedied excessive barking. I can't say enough good things about this product, it has been a total game changer for me. I immediately bought two more to stock up.RKRK

Adopted a black mouth cur from the shelter. Escape artist, separation anxiety to the maximum. First time I put the shirt on her, I left her in the car while I ran into the store (no, it wasn't hot out! and I wasn't long. but I'd be wondering the same, reading the above!) When I got back to the car, though, she had the thundershirt Off! And she was trying to escape from the slightly open window, yelping! I honestly put the jacket back into the box because it has a money-back guarantee. I was going to send it back. However, "life" got in the way and I never mailed it. Lo and behold, came upon it a month later, right before a move of residence to another state. I put it on her and she immediately calmed, laid down and fell asleep for the 4 hour drive. So grateful I don't have to sedate her for long trips now. Works every time. Also, she was scratching herself, seemed like a nervous habit because no fleas, no nothing, just scratching. Put on the thundershirt and immediately calm, down, and asleep! No offense to my Vet, but they wanted me to give her apoquel and all she needed was the reassurance of the Thundershirt! Thank you!Rowan M.
I purchased the ThunderShirt for my dog's anxiety over fireworks. I tried to get my dog accustomed to it before putting it on her as the instructions stated but she ran away every time even when it was paired with treats and I was just holding it up. Despite this, I put the ThunderShirt on her the night of the 4th of July fireworks. I also added the calming spray to the area on the shirt as indicated. She was very anxious the whole night. However, the next night I put the shirt on her again and she calmed down quickly despite neighbors setting off fireworks. This was repeated the next night as well. We have not needed to use it since then but will use it when thunderstorms are predicted and when she needs to go in the car to see if that will help with her car sickness. I was skeptical at first that this would work but I am so glad I purchased the ThunderShirt and gave it a try.Michelle S.
I recently adopted 2 retired greyhounds and noticed my female would hide and pant before and during rainstorms. I bought these just a few weeks before July 4th since the firecrackers were already starting to explode in our neighborhood and my male grey refused to walk after hearing pops and getting spooked. I got 2 in XL: one in Camo with orange stripes and the sport in platinum which has a quilted weave and feels thicker so I could see if they had any preference since they both fit on either dog (they like them both). Just followed the directions for wrapping the shirts and it seemed to instantly calm my girl down to the point where she doesn’t want to take it off though eventually she lets me. I’m not sure it helps my male so much since it’s gotten so hot out that I won’t add an extra layer on them in this heat and cause them to have heat stroke but I put it on them during stormy weather and they both really like wearing the shirts which surprised me so I think he likes it too. I’ve already gotten my money’s worth knowing they like wearing them and seems to help them. I’m very happy I got them. Thanks for making these.ALEXANDRA Y.

Veterinarians are expected to be competent at euthanasia but there are so many different variations with species, different clinical contexts and infectious disease considerations. Its an important topic and it has been addressed sensitively and comprehensively in this review of euthanasia techniques in the light of the AVMA Euthanasia Guidelines. It is very well illustrated and contains comprehensive tables, illustrations and further references – very useful for veterinarians, vet students, nurses and technicians. It covers species that we don't all see every day (dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, snakes, chelonians, horses, sheep, cattle and pigs) and explains in enough detail the important differences when it comes to euthanasia. Reviews:
I ordered the Embark test for my latest foster pup, Reba. Reba had been abandoned in an orchard in the Central Valley of California with her pups and mate. It took quite a while for rescuers to catch her and then she spent 8 months at a shelter regaining her health and learning to trust humans again. In February 2022, we brought her home as our foster pup. We had no intentions of adopting Reba when I ordered the Embark test. Curiosity got the best of me and I thought it could possibly help to see if there was any correlation between some of her behaviors and her breed(s). The test was really easy to use, but Reba’s first sample did not include enough DNA sample to analyze. Embark’s response was great! They let me know right away and sent another collection kit. Turn around time for her results was about 2 weeks after submitting the second sample. Were we surprised at her results? Yes and no! We were pretty certain Reba was part Australian Cattle Dog (26.5%) and guessed that she’d likely be part American Pit Bull Terrier (25.8%). But we were surprised that it was so evenly divided and, even more so, that she was 20.7% Chihuahua! The biggest surprise was 14.4% Chow Chow. Didn’t see that one coming! With her top three breeds being so close percentage wise, we call her our ‘cattle-pit-a’. The key word in that last sentence is ‘our’ – we adopted this cute little nugget on May 29th.Lori T.
We adopted a puppy(she's about a year old now) from a local shelter and wanted to do a DNA test on her. She was listed as a mini schnauzer mix and looks like one. She has black wire hair with a creamy soft under coat, but when the test came back 45% mini poodle, about 24% pit bull terrier, 6.6% German shepherd, almost 5% mini pinscher and 19.6% supermutt and there was 0% schnauzer, unless it was included in the 19%. I can agree that I see a little shepherd in her, possibly mini pinscher, but 45% mini poodle? No way, nor pit bull. She looks more mini schnauzer or even Scottish terrier if anything, so for that not to even come out makes me question the whole test results. And after spending the $$$ on it actually makes me more frustrated, because it just seems like a waste. The only good part of the experience was the communication and fast results, which is why I gave two stars instead of one. Also, I've tried to upload pictures so people could see what I'm talking to about, but of course it keeps saying error uploading photo.Rebecca W.
To be honest, I am a bit dubious about the whole experience. I was a bit skeptical just based on the fact that pictures of the dog were requested prior to testing the dog and questions were asked about suspected breed prior to testing. My puppy has a pronounced underbite and has a very short snout. We were told that his mother was a boxer lab mix. However, both my puppy and his litter mate came back with no boxer or lab. My pup was pit bull, sharpei, hound and golden retriever. Physically, I don’t see any way that my puppy should have the underbite and short snout with breathing issues as he does. The results indicated that he also had “super mutt” comprised of beagle, hound, and pug, but that percentage would be way too small to make such a big impact on my pup’s physical traits. In addition, my pup has also had skin issues also associated with boxer breeds that are not common in the breeds he is said to be according to the DNA. I am also concerned about the common percentages that come back on the results: such as the dominant breed being around 60%, but the other breeds come in at 12.5% across the board. That does not follow Human Ancestry Testing, which offers varying percentages rather than 12.5%. I wish I felt more confident in this test than I do. I do feel like I wasted my money. If I had the money to spare, I would do quality controlled testing on the companies offering pet DNA, because I feel that we are at their mercy since many of our rescued pets do not have a known history. It’s really disappointing. I would not do this again.Elizabeth R.

Piggy is mostly white with very pink skin. His pads of his feet are pink they are turning a little darker as he gets older . He has one eye smaller than the other and has no pupil response in either eye but can see shadows i think from one eye. I was suspecting he was a double Merle . I’d love to send a pic so you could see. His traits that you have said he has appearance wise was not accurate. He does have a touch of Merle coloring on his lower hip and leg. But he’s mostly white and very pink around the eyes and pads of feet even pink nose with a touch of black . I would have never guessed he was related to most of these other breeds. He does however have a look of a American Staffordshire terroir a little. His mom Looked like a Australian Shepherd or boarder collie we think. He was a stray we found when he was only 4lbs and had to be fed with a syringe then bottle. Can a dog mixed with so many other breeds be a double Merle ?Kelly D.
We adopted our family dog from a shelter on Christmas Eve a few years ago. Ever since she was a puppy, she had always displayed peculiar traits that didn't seem to align with the traits of the breeds the shelter had guessed for her. We were very excited to receive our WisdomPanel (which was super easy to use) and even more excited to review the results (which came quicker than expected). The results definitely surprised us. I immediately thought it must have been a mistake, until I looked up pictures of the breed my dog was identified as — it was like looking at pictures of my own dog! Plus, the breed descriptions on WisdomPanel and the greater internet were 100% spot on with how our dog behaves. We certainly got more than a few good laughs at how incorrect the shelter's guesses were – it made our day! It was an overall amazing experience and would highly recommend.Jorge R.
I have serious concerns that the sample for my dog was mixed up with another's. The report stated that my dog is 50% golden retriever (meaning one of his parents was 100% golden) and 13% chow, with the remainder being other breeds. I would expect that if my dog was truly 50% golden retriever, he should look something like a golden retriever. Sam does not. He LOOKS like he should be some variation of a Doberman and Shepherd. He has the coloring of both of those dogs (mostly black with tan/brown accents) has VERY short hair, lanky legs, and a long straight tail. I sent a follow-up email to Wisdom Panel when I first read the results and got no response. I should think that since this is partly scientific research, Wisdom Panel would want feedback when data does not result as expected. I am very upset that I spent my money on this, especially with the lack of customer service when I reported my concerns.Stephanie G.

Reviews:
The media could not be loaded. I have four indoor and outdoor Eufy cameras and a Eufy doorbell. They provide great value (no monthly subscription required) and perform well with many features. I was intrigued, therefore, by this Eufy dog camera. The unit is larger than I expected, coming in at over a foot tall with a 6-inch diameter. The large size allows capacious treat storage and the rotating components. There is also a clean-out compartment on the bottom for treat crumbs, which is a nice touch. Overall it is designed and built well. Purchasers should note that the camera needs to be plugged into the wall as there is no battery. The camera quality is a standard 1080p and presents a clear picture on my phone. It has a wide-angle lens, and the unit can rotate 3/4 of a complete circle. The camera can see just about anywhere in a room. The rotation is done manually through the app or by tracking motion automatically. I set it to only track dogs, but it occasionally follows me as well (quite disconcerting). You launch treats through the app with a gimmicky slingshot that you swipe back. The more you swipe back, the more forceful the launch. A preset noise or recorded command plays (intended to call your dog over before the treat launches). We have treats on the smaller size of the recommended range (0.24' to 0.6'), and I could not tell much of a difference among the various launch distances. In fact, at each level, they launched further than I would have liked. With my dog sitting in front of the camera, they come out too quickly for him to react. Moreover, the treats come out 2-3 at a time, which furthers his confusion. I suspect that larger treats would fare better. The app is nicely done and functional. I did not encounter any bugs. I do wish that Eufy would combine their various apps into one. The rest of my Eufy cameras use the Eufy Security app, while this dog cam uses the Eufy Pet app. This should not bother me as much as it does. Inside the app, you can choose to be notified by motion (generally or just dogs) and when it thinks that the camera hears a bark. This did not work consistently well for me. The app often thought that loud, sudden noises were barks, leading to false positives. Other features allow you to record commands for your dog to come to get a treat, view past events, get a live feed, launch treats, and rotate the camera. Set up was simple, and I have had no issues connecting. Owners who are frequently absent from their dogs will like this unit. If you use larger treats (and have a smarter dog) than I have, I think the treat launcher will perform better. The false positives on the image and sound recognition are downsides but not dealbreakers. Overall, it is a well-built unit that showcases the great value that Eufy offers.
Delivery was very fast, got it 2 days early than expected date. Already have it set up, and love it! I was at first considering the Furbo or Pet Cube Lite because they were more well known. I'm so glad I did my research and chose this instead after reading so many bad reviews on the other brands. This is very easy to set up, the quality of the videos are crystal clear, easy to download and share with others, haven't had a single issue with the treat launcher, and the cam itself isn't cheaply made either. Very heavy duty and sleek. If anyone's on the fence, I'd highly reccomend this. Easily worth the $200 in my opinion. Love that I can talk too and keep an eye on my dogs while I'm away. Thank you for making an all around great pet cam.
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this camera because I am away a lot since I am a teacher and I am a cancer patient. I miss being away from my dog as I get infusions, at doctor appointments, or just at work. This camera is great and allows me to keep an eye on my pup while I am away. My dog just sleeps or eats while I am away, but seeing him perk up when I talk to him or throw him a treat is one of my favorite things! The only reason I rated this 4 stars is because I did buy this new but when I received my package and opened the treat container it had clearly been used as there was treat residue already in the canister. Other than that it's been awesome to watch my dog throughout the day, throw treats, and it even sends a doggy diary at the end of the day to show everything your dog did! It's also great security as it can detect people so if you have an intruder it will record them. This is super easy to set up and use and is so convenient. I highly recommend this product!

Reviews:
We have a GSH with high anxiety due to a bad situation prior to rescue. The generic prozac along with a thunder shirt has helped her tremendously. Prior to this she has eaten every piece of furniture in our living room, with these 2 things working hand and hand we have been able to buy new furniture even though we still keep it covered 🙂Tammy M
I have a 3.5 year old female lab mix that has severe anxiety. She is extremely fear based; has attacked other dogs, is obsessed with patrolling the back yard and was nearly impossible to take for walks – despite professional training. It had gotten so bad, we were going to have to re-home her. Fluoxetine has been a life saver! She has been on it for 2 months and it's gotten so much better. She hasn't attacked our other dog or cat, she loves to go outside, but doesn't feel that she needs to patrol the yard. Best of all, we can take her for walks and she doesn't attack other dogs anymore. If you have a dog with severe behavioral problems, talk to you Vet and see if this might help.Shelly H
Katies is a mixed bull terrier and the older she has gotten, the less tolerant of other animals and people outside of our family so I contacted our vet to see what we could do to help her and he recommended it. After several months of trying to get the dosage right we have finally been able to make her less anxious and happier over all! I love that it does not make her seem sleepy once we got the dosage right!Peggy

Reviews:
I was so excited to find out the breed(s) of my rescue when I receive this kit as a gift. I was confident she was mostly pit bull mix from my personal knowledge of dog breeds (2+ years experience in vet clinic) and the rescues record. The service was fine but her test came back as level 1 Boxer and level 4 redbone coonhound. This has never seemed accurate to me, and now after reading the many reviews of others having the same experience I am convinced this test is a scam. The detailed questions they ask to indicate their assumed breed is even more suspicious. It’s very disappointing, especially when pet parents are relying on accurate info for health concerns or other important matters. If you want accurate results, I would definitely pitch in a little more money and go with a more trustworthy brand.Mikayla Arevalo
I’m very pleased with this test that I bought when I Adopted both of these Dogs from Humane Pet Services LLC. They only adopt out dogs/puppies that are pulled out of Over Crowding Shelters where they are at a High Risk of being Euthanized. These dogs/puppies are fixed, up to date on age appropriate shots, wormed and Heartworm Tested. My Goliath was brought in saying Pug Mix his DNA turned out to be Pug/Norwegian Elkhound. What a mix, he’s a very good dog. My Zoe was brought in as a Lhasa Mix her DNA turned up Lhasa/Poodle/Rat Terrier. She is such a fun dog to watch running and playing. Another very good dog given a 2nd Chance at a full and wonderful life.Karen Sowash
My recent rescue, Daisy Duke, stole my heart with her huge erect ears, bright eyes and big brindle spots on a bright white coat. Friends and I made wild guesses as to her breeds. She was a rescue from the Crow Reservation where blue heelers are common. Or was the muzzle from the terrier group? I received my results quickly and was surprised and happy to learn she is 1/4 Akita, Border Collie, Belgian Malinois (!) and Shiba Inu. While the combination is unique, the characteristics of these breeds are evident in her personality ad behavior. To quote a phrase from our recent medical history: Trust the science.” I would recommend DNA My Dog to anyone curious about their canine family. The service was fast and follow up ensured I was happy with the service.Carolyn Eucker

13. How To Speak Dog: Mastering The Art Of Dog-Human Communication [Book]
Product Details:
At long last, dogs will know just how smart their owners can be. by unlocking the secrets of the hidden language of dogs, the author, a psychologist, allows us into the doggy dialogue and makes two-way communication a reality. for the first time, instead of receiving an incomprehensible mash of mixed human signals, man's best friend will be treated to the proper use of dog language. finally, effective communication can take place between canines and these "strange tall dogs" who have mystified them for so long. building on research into the simplified language of "baby talk" (that nearly universally recognized "motherese" with which mothers speak to their infants), the author provides insights into the structure and form of the simplified language that many dog owners use to communicate with their pets. a better understanding of this language, "doggish," is the key to improved two-way communication. as every owner will admit, dogs have an uncanny ability to respond to nuances of human speech. although actual conversation of the sort lassie seemed capable of in hollywood mythmaking remains forever out of reach, research and observation show that a great deal of real communication is possible beyond the giving and obeying of commands. this book explores the limits of dogs' language abilities and charts the possibilities. it gives owners the key to interpret correctly not only information but emotional states. with easy-to-follow tips on how humans can mimic the language dogs use to talk with each other, it provides a surprising and fascinating window into the world of dog communication, why they speak and what they talk about. drawing on substantial research in animal behavior, evolutionary biology, and years of personal experience, the author demonstrates that the average house dog can differentiate between 60 and 140 words, though some research suggests that dogs can hear many more and also pick words out of sentences and respond to them. this work examines people's beliefs about the ability of their dogs to communicate and contrasts those with the scientific reality. as the author shows us, the gulf is more narrow than many people think, and the rewards of bridging it are endless.

I would recommend this book but from a different website. It took more than 6 weeks for this book to be delivered, which is pointless as the semester is almost over. I emailed after 4 weeks to see the whereabouts of my book, and 2 weeks later I was informed I would be receiving a refund as they did not have the book in stock. A few days later I received an email that my book was on its way and it arrived at the post office the following week. The man at Booktopia then informed me as my book was on its way I would not be receiving a refund. Overall, communication with their clients would assist in the overall experience (I was never informed that the book was on back order). I recommend purchasing this book from a more reliable source.Where is my refund?
