My two little dogs (a chihuahua and a chihuahua/daschund mix) really loved these treats! They were the perfect size for them as little dogs, plus they were all natural, so I felt good about giving my dogs these chews. My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. I'm quite surprised with the reviews that say this product doesn't work. For my dog, it truly was a LIFE SAVER! I've been battling with my dogs hotspots (and dry, flaky skin) off and on ever since we moved back to the Midwest, at least a year of her issues. I've tried shampoos, conditioners, a handful of trips to the vet to trial different foods, and hundereds of dollars later I honestly just gave up. I started putting alternative topical agents on her that simply gave a temporary resolution. While traveling out of town, she (Mini Schnauzer) had a really bad case, to the point where she was starting to bleed. Tea oil, hot spot spray and the above HomeoPet drops were what I returned with, after another visit to the pet store. After the first day her redness had diminshed greatly and she wasn't itching nearly as much. By two, she wasn't itching AT ALL. I decided to remove the Tea oil and spray since I'd used them in the past without long-term results. It's been a week and my schnauzer has had 3-5 drops a day, oral dose of this product and she is doing exceptional! Seriously! No redness, no scratching. Today I hadn't given her any since yesterday afternoon and she started scratching again. I gave her 3 drops and about a couple hours later, again, her scratching is gone. This has been a complete life saver. My elderly dog keeps chewing one specific spot. With many expensive vet trips, we've tried so many things that I was feeling discouraged. My pet Koko is a 4 year old Cooker S and he has certain spots on his body that will itch until the fur is gone and the skin is broken. The hydrocortisone didn't seem to be doing enough. I have intentionally waited to write a review because I wanted to give enough time to see if the Fidoplex was going to make a difference. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. Ever since I adopted my little Angel a few months ago, I've wanted to get rid of her overly flaky coat and large amount of shedding. My vet first prescribed the standard fatty acid capsules. They were too large to administer by themselves and with pill pockets. Squeezing the liquid into Angel's wet food was out of the question as well, as she is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to supplementing her food with vitamins, medicines, etc. and refused to touch her dinner if it had the liquid in it. I got this spray at my local small business pet store (Carter's Pet Mart in Stockton, CA) because he's prone to itchy skin when the weather gets hot. It cost $6.99 and they had a multitude of other scents and sprays for various needs. I've always liked how tea tree oil smells so I knew it would also help his coat and skin smell better after he came in from being outdoors. I like to spray it on his coat and then use his coat brush to work it in. He doesn't seem to mind it and his itching had subsided a bit. We used this product on our grand dog. He was a scaly, crusty mess and had lost most of his hair. We took him to the vet and put him a regimen of medicated shampoo, oral antibiotics and an immunomodulator. We used the Skin Soother immediately after his daily bath. My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. The hair started growing back and the dark skin was lightening up and becoming less dry and flaky. At the same time, my dog was scratching at it less so that was a plus. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. That being said, I had to order another to see continued results but I ordered the larger tin instead. My only issue with this product is the tin is a lot harder to apply. The texture itself is not as soft and smooth as the stick. I also had to use my own hands to spread it on which I did not like at all. It also gets messy in the tin as my pug sheds so there is now hair stuck in the product. My recommendation to the company would be to have the stick in a larger option and I would gladly purchase that. I bought this originally for my nieces new and tiny miniature Dockson puppy and we ended up using it on her other mini Dockson and our poodle. It’s almost impossible to bath your dog or puppy with out them licking the water or the soap on themselves. This soap they can get distracted in licking it and it is gentle enough that it won’t hurt them a bit. *not that I’m suggesting to reward bad habits but if you bath your pets at home then you known the struggle is real!* We still use this even though they aren’t puppies anymore. The other big thing I love about this is I can wash above the neck! After he's all dried, he doesn't seem irritated so i believe it is NOT drying out his skin like some brightening shampoos are known for.natalie .g
I bought this originally for my nieces new and tiny miniature Dockson puppy and we ended up using it on her other mini Dockson and our poodle. It’s almost impossible to bath your dog or puppy with out them licking the water or the soap on themselves. This soap they can get distracted in licking it and it is gentle enough that it won’t hurt them a bit. *not that I’m suggesting to reward bad habits but if you bath your pets at home then you known the struggle is real!* We still use this even though they aren’t puppies anymore. The other big thing I love about this is I can wash above the neck! I am careful to protect their eyes but it’s so nice to have a shampoo that doesn’t say wash from neck down, leaving your dog still dirty. It does wonders for both the wiener dogs coats-one is short haired, one is long haired. Leaving everyone silky smooth and smelling amazing for days!alicia.m
