Treating Dog Uti At Home For Sale (2024 Update)

I'm a big fan of the NaturVet brand, my dog has an allergy to chicken so I LOVE that I don't have to worry about chicken flavoring in this brand. I was searching the web for something that would help my dog during heat season, she will beg to go out way more often then normal but then doesn't have to potty. I found these and starting giving them to her wondering if the underlying problem was a UTI, since we started using these she doesn't have any issues! She gobbles them up no problem (and she is overly picky). I now buy these on a regular basis for 'maintenance' and she really enjoys them as her morning treat! This is more convenient than sprinkling his food with some powder! Plus he views them as a treat! Same basic ingredients as similar kitty supplements for urinary issues…but I give him 1/2 at a time. My cat has had repeated uti's involving emergency vet visits and a lot of stress. When the antibiotic wears off, the infection returns. I was at Petco on Sunday and saw this product and decided to buy it in case there was another infection. My cat had a crisis 2 days later with very extreme symptoms. I gave her 5 drops and noticed no change. So I did it again in 15 minutes and she began to calm down. Then she sat quietly for awhile and then went upstairs to sleep under my bed for the rest of the day. The next day she acted like nothing had happened. I was amazed! While I am not really one to normally write a review, I research other reviews diligently and thought it was time I started- especially to brag on this product and hopefully help someone else. Case: Mittens is a 3 year old female never with any previous UTI issues, Food: ate frisky crunchies and was happy, Fast forward to 2 months ago- she started with always being wet on her bottom. It kind of threw me off because I thought it could be a problem with her rear and not bladder, it progressed to constant going in litter box and barely having anything come out. Through this time 700. was spent at vet, ultrasounds, urinalysis' , lab testing, all showing nothing but antibiotics were administered as it was obvious something was wrong. The vet was insistent about stress thought I was skeptical as absolutely zero had changed in our household and buying the 50. food just was not an expense I was ready to do at that moment. The antibiotics has slight improvement but never fixed the issue. Mittens also has to be put under aneasthesia every time we go as she is very sweet, but not a good patient. During this time I was also an my witts end not wanting to put her thru another battery of testing and my house issue. In that I mean everywhere she went she would leave wet spots and a terrible smell which simply could not go on. So I went to do what you have done if you are here, online research and came across this product. I ordered it and went to bed as it was late and would be ready for pick up the next morning. I was hopeful and excited that this could be 'it'- a cure. So we picked it up and went to work. I followed dosing as directed for an acute condition as that is what we had. I had to administer via wet food because a syringe simply does not work with her. We did 10 drops every 15 minutes for the first hour and went on as directions said the whole time via food, 2nd day three times a day 10 drops each meal, and 3rd day back to initial dosing of 10 drops every 15 minutes for the first hour and 2 more times that day. I was not seeing the 'immediate result' some people had at that point. I will also say I was feeding her uti proplan wet food only during this time. We started Sunday morning and I did not notice relief until Tuesday evening- We were getting a stream of urine. I was so happy I could cry! Now we are at Thursday and we seem to be almost normal. Absoulutely AMAZING, have patience this stuff works! I am going to continue dosing twice a day and maybe even once a day for prevention going forward. I am also going to find some uti dry food, most likely Purina One uti to keep with prevention as that is my motivation going forward. Cannot be happier with the $6 price tag and the miracle inside. My cat is almost 7yrs of age and never before had any health issues until one day, I saw him spotting in the litter box. He would continuously go in and out, squirt a little urine without covering it, then lick his private area when he was done. This went on throughout the entire day for about two full days. Luckily I scoop his litter every morning so I was able to catch the issue right away. After day 2 of seeing him do this, in which he now had a funny walk and refused to eat or drink anything, I knew it was time to go to a vet. I went to one and spent a little over $250 on fees, an X-ray, and pain meds just for them to tell me that he’s a healthy cat and that they could not find anything wrong. Although, they did notice that his bladder was full as if he was holding it all day. They gave him fluids and emptied his bladder but wanted to push for another $125 just to draw his blood, in which I declined. Much to my frustration, I started googling my cat’s symptoms, and after speaking with my mom, we concluded that he maybe had a urinary tract infection. No its like everything else I have tried does not work I can't even get my cats to get it down. When I first got it I let my cat smell it and he literally gagged (should have stopped there)?then I put it in a syringe and gave it to him and he threw up right after I gave it to him. You know I just wish there were more products for cats that they would actually eat, drink, or like. There is certainly enough out there for dogs. My grey tabby, Itty, has chronic bladder infections. He's on specialized food and we watch him like a hawk. My sister suggested I try Cranberry D-Mannose so I purchased some from this site. The day it arrived (SUPER fast shipping, btw) I found some blood in Itty's urine. Since we are WAY out in the middle of nowhere, and it was a Friday, I couldn't get into a Vet until Monday. One of my three dogs, Danna (a beagle) has suffered for chronic UTIs for a couple of years. The vet has prescribed her antibiotics but the results have not been so positive – and I actually prefer not to use antibiotics on her. Dog – 50 pound female GSP with spay incontinence since 6 yrs old (now 10). This product does help reduce incontinence. However, depending on the severity of the incontinence, it may not clear up the problem completely. When incontinence first started, there was leakage several times a day (mostly during rest). After 2 months of use (2 pills/day), this product reached its full effect and leakage reduced in frequency and severity (a few times a week in smaller amounts). She will still leak if she drinks a fair amount of water. My dog generally eats a fresh food based diet. She gets quite a bit of hydration from her food and doesn't drink as much from the water bowl. When her diet becomes more kibble based, she's thirstier and drinks from the water bowl. When she's drinking water, it's a large amount over a short time. Shortly after drinking is when she tends to leak. Dog has been on synthetic hormone DES before which works great (maintenance dose of 1 mg pill/week). There's controversy over DES and it's not for every dog. Bladder Strength along with frequent potty breaks (after she drinks) keeps the problem in check enough to not require her DES prescription to be renewed. My dog was not leaking or having accidents, she just suddenly needed to urinate at around 5 in the morning, instead of the normal 9 or 10 o'clock time, and also had to go more often than normal. My Vet did a Urinalysis, bloodwork, X-rays, and Ultrasound and everything was perfect, so I researched the issue and found this supplement. I spoke with Vetriscience's Support Personnel and they felt that this Supplement would be helpful as it allows the dog to fully empty their bladder, it supports normal Estrogen levels that may have fallen after my dog was Spayed, and it tones and strengthens the muscles that allow for normal bladder function. I was hoping to see some inprovement is 3 or 4 weeks, but was amazed that my Bichon reverted back to the 9 – 10 o'clock time for her first urination of the day. I took my aging terrier off prescription bladder control and switched to this product a little over a week ago. I did not do this gradually. So far, so good. My dog has not had any accidents in the house and seems to have as strong a bladder as with the prescription med. Label said good quality and taste they might be but to tell the truth, I will probably never know cause my dogs spit them out. I've tried to sneak pills in hot dogs, works sometimes most times if they find them dogs turn their noses up and walk away. Hate to give a poor review but why didnt they just put a little bit of flavor in these? I mean it says there chewables, That to me says Dogs will chew the things and like to take their medicine. These pills are white with no flavor at all no smell either, Dogs smell before they eat and if there is no smell they wont eat em. I read where someone said it did not work, i'm here to tell you that it worked for my Pyredoodle. You have to follow the instructions. I gave her 2 a day for 2 weeks and she quit having accidents. I would recommend this to anyone that has a dog having bladder problems. Plus it saved me from going to the vet. Georgeblksheep

Our Terrier/Poodle/Chihuahua Mix is 16 years old. She was having bladder control problems when she slept too long in one place. I found NaturVet Bladder Support at Wal-Mart and tried it. They really seem to help my dog! I started giving them when I noticed him being hesitant to go pee and holding it for a long time and ending up with an infection. He seems to do well on these. I started giving my 5 year old dog Cranberry Comfort a year ago after her 3rd urinary tract infection. Since starting the Cranberry Comfort she has had no further UTI's. Cranberry Comfort was recommended by my veterinarian as one of the best products on the market for urinary tract health. Although I will likely have to continue the Cranberry Comfort for the rest of my dog's life, it is a very minor inconvenience compared to the discomfort my dog had with the infections and the side effects from all the antibiotics.Joanne

I’m a holistic dog trainer so I take the whole animal into account not just behavior or training so wellness is a big part. I prefer more natural protocols for healing when available. My dog ate this willingly only twice. I've even dipped it meat juice & he will not eat it. If I crush it in his food he rejects the whole bowl. He is not picky at all. so these must taste pretty bad. They are very dry. no idea if they work or not, can't see results if he won't eat them. I can assume the ingredients are medicinal. I can't speak to quality, put if your pet won't eat it- there's the answer the quality doesn't matter. They would be easy to use if your pet likes them.iHerb Customer

My 10 year old cat was literally dying because she could not eat and was getting too weak to drink. She was getting palliative, hospice type care but I didn't want her to starve to death. I take care of feral cats and I Trap, Neuter, and Release (TNR) them in order to decrease the cat population in my neighborhood. When spaying a female cat, you have to keep them for at least 4 days for them to appropriately heal and have the affects of the anesthesia to wear off completely. One of the ferals that I trapped was a skin-and-bones female that was really too young to be having the kitten she was towing around with her. So I trapped her and her only surviving female kitten, had them both fixed and proceeded to "Fatten them up" and have them heal completely. "Under the Weather" Ready-Cal was the perfect supplement to give to both mamma and baby while they healed. I kept mamma in my care for one month because she was so pathetically thin. In that month, Mamma's coat changed from a rusty brown to a glossy black. She gained weight to where you could no longer feel her ribs poking through her fur. She did not like indoor life AT ALL and could not be socialized or handled, so she was released back to her outdoor home. I continue to feed Mamma every day, even built her an outdoor heated shelter in my fenced in yard. She is very content now. She now loves people, but cannot be picked up off the ground or lifted, but allows petting and head scratches. As for her kitten, she socialized very well, is awesome at vet visits and handling, and doubled in size very quickly because of the added Ready-Cal supplement and gained weight at a rate of 1lb/month. I have been using Resources Incontinence for my 18 month old Pointer/German Shorthaired Pointer female dog, Strider, for ~3 months now. Strider was spayed early in life and I believe this is why she has an incontinence problem. Since Strider has been on this treatment, she has only had an accident once when she first started treatment, and I think, in part, it was because she was under a lot of stress. (I notice when under stress, she does not have as much control over her bladder). The directions state to give her 2 tablets twice daily for her weight, but I have been giving Strider 1 tablet in the evening and she has been doing very well (no leaks/voiding of bladder). However, she has not been under a lot of stress lately. We'll see at Christmas time when I expect the stress will pick up for her. Before her treatment with Resources, she had been dribbling or voiding her bladder about once per day and many times a lot more than this. I have not seen any side effects so far and it is a good value since I am only giving her 1/4 the recommended dose with good results. If it still works this well after the Christmas stress, I would rate this product with 5 paw prints! ( I actually rate it now with 4.5 paw prints!) Also, Strider did not like the taste of the tablets, but if I lick the tablets (put my saliva/scent on the tablet), she will eat them without problems. She thinks anything that I eat must be good and it entices her to eat it if she thinks I have been eating it. Or, I can place a little grease on her tablet and she will eat it easily.Strider's mom

First, my dog does not take meds well – she finds a way to spit them out and it's always a process to disguise it. She GOBBLES these up…she even chews them! My 14.5 year old female Yorkie has had some problems with excessive thirst, frequent urination and incontinence. This formula absolutely cleared up her incontinence within 2 weeks. She weighs 8.5 pounds and I give her 1/4 tablet in the morning with food and 1/4 tablet in the evening with food. She has had no side effects. After testing, we found that she has "pre-cushing's" disease, so that is why she drinks too much, and pees too much. But the incontinence is gone.
