My dog loves them, they seem to help keep tartar to a minimum and the price is reasonable. However, we've had two incidents with them and I don't think I'll buy them again. 1) One night, my dog was acting very strange after I gave her a treat. She was pawing at her mouth & rubbing it on the rug. When I checked her mouth, I found a chunk of the treat stuck on the roof of her mouth near her back teeth. I was able to remove it, but it frightened me. 2) Another night, she vomited a short time after eating her treat. I found marble sized, undigested pieces of the treat in the clear vomit. Maybe she didn't chew them up enough or maybe she just had an upset stomach & they didn't have a chance to digest, but it caused some concern for me. Has anyone else had this problem?phyl749

My dog sleeps with his mouth open like he has 3 jobs, but because of this additive to his water, his morning breath hasn't been too bad. Its the only thing responsible for his pearly white because I am a bad dog mom who doesn't brush her dogs' teeth often (5 times a year maybe? lol) but hoping this stuff is doing what it promises. As far as tartar remover, I can't say but he had his last teeth cleaning 1.5 years ago and at his recent vet visit the vet said we have nothing to worry about and that his teeth are still looking good! My dogs like the toothpaste, they don't enjoy having their teeth brushed but it helps if they like the taste of the toothpaste. They like to lick it off the toothbrush and off their teeth. My dog had terrible breath and some gunk stuck between teeth. After a month of consistent tooth brushing with this toothpaste for a month my dogs breath had improved greatly and the gunk was gone. I think the enzymes in it must really work. the tube lasted about a month being used on two dogs daily. Really trust this brand now as i have had these good results with this toothpaste. My other younger dog with healthier teeth had slight yellowing on some teeth and this toothpaste has made some of it disappear. One of my dog absolutely loves this stuff. He knows when it's time for his teeth brushing and sits their and licks all of the paste through the cracks in his teeth while I brush. My other dog is still getting used to his face being touched, but he has been enjoying the taste of the paste. I have noticed less plaque and buildup on my dog's teeth since we started using it. Yes there are more plastic parts and Yes they will break more easily than the older models (reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). What products haven't changed over to plastics in the last 50 yrs? Granted I have to be more careful handling the newer replacement items BUT they still clean better than the so called latest, greatest and better designed ones. This is great for cleaning up plaque from both my cat and dogs mouth after meals. However, I only gave it 4 stars because it tastes and smells strongly of mint. This isn’t something my pets are used too and if I had designed the product, I would have made it taste like nothing. Why nothing? I bought this rinse to compare to another for my cat who got a cut on his gums. Although I'm sure it would be quite effective at helping with healing and disinfection, I found the tip rather unwieldy. The tip is rather large for fitting under a cat lip (although it might not be for a medium to large dog), and if your pet does not stay still, it is easy to accidentally squeeze the bottle too hard resulting in too large a quantity being squirted into your pet's mouth, which just increases the likelihood that your pet will not cooperate. It would probably work better if you have someone to help hold your pet, but on the plus side, it smells good.wildequusheart
