This was a life saver. My pug is 15 and needs help getting up and down from couch. It has 3 positions so it is not steep for an older dog to use. It is ready to use right out of the box. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is not to long and can be used in the smallest spaces. The carpet like material on the ramp, also has slip resistant material on it (like what is on the bottom of socks). The dogs love it and it does not bother their feet. When going down the ramp, they can go as slow as needed and not slide down. I highly recommend this product. It will not work with really high beds or trucks unless you add to it. But it is perfect for anything else including cars (if needed) It is very light and easy to move around. It is very sturdy and does not move when dogs are using it. Even my younger dog loves it and she is scared of everything. The first day we got it we used treats to get them to use it. I only took a few minutes and they loved it. We had foam stairs before this but my older dog was still having issues using it. Because of the material of the stairs, when going down, it would force her to go fast and slide. I purchased 2 of the smaller raised 2.5 cup slow feeders, which is recommended for cats per the FAQ and listing, for my 2 cats. They will only eat if there is significant volume of food within the feeder, but will not eat if there is a small amount between the feeder elevations. My guess is that the elevations on the feeder are too tall and is touching their whiskers. Seems counter-productive to add more than necessary food in order to entice them to eat when this device is supposed to slow down their eating. Seems promising but wasteful. Both of my cats are large, one being a maine coon.

I may have been that I got a bad one because the gray part on the lower part of the clamp cracked and broken from the pressure exerted from the levering action. I didn't think I would be able to get my money back because I didn't have my proof of purchase anymore, but the people at Armour were great. They asked me to send a picture of the broken product so they could look into the problem. They sent me a new clamp without hassle. It's great that the company stood by their products. I have had a Hoover Windtunnel since 2012 and love it. This vacuum is terrible. It has good suction but………When it is in the Upright position so you can use the attachments the roller brush does not shut off. It ruins your carpet! It actually was smelling like something was burning. I think the belt was slipping. Bad engineering to not have the roller brush shut off in the upright position. What kind of idiot would say yes to a design like this? Our Windtunnel shuts off in the upright position. Tried to call Hoover….was told they were closed on a Thursday, I Was told in a recording to go online which I did but chat said they were closed and to call them. PING PONG affect going on here. DUMB….. Then on Friday was on hold 2 hrs before it cut me off. Called back, pressed the prompt for a call back and never got one the entire day and still no call back. Today is Monday called again and again We are closed after going through all the prompts to wait for an agent. Went online to chat and actually got someone named Honey B who was a bit rude saying we are open, just busy. So there is a difference of being closed and saying busy hang on….. Then when I told about the problem we had I was told to talk to who makes our carpet. Pass the buck Hoover on poor engineering huh????. You should never have a vacuum that the brush spins and spins when it's in one place. This vacuum was made to use attachments so put the rollers into idle please while using them. You will wear out your carpet and wear out your vacuum belt. Hoover will try everything I'm sure to cover our damaged carpet….SO BUYER beware. FORGET this vacuum. Its junk. PLUS the dial to lift the vacuum head up really does nothing. It's a joke. And when emptying the canister, it fell off the hinges. Seriously, I will never recommend Hoover again. I grew up using Hoover products and have used them my entire adult life. I researched all brands/models before replacing our older Hoover. We decided on this vacuum due to having three cats and it's excellent reviews. The first time I vacuumed with it, I loved it. I actually still love it's vacuuming capabilities (after using it a month). The fault with this product lies in the fact that as soon as you turn on the vacuum, the brush turns at a very high speed (while vacuum is still in upright position) and the brush doesn't stop until you turn off the vacuum, regardless of floor setting or if you are using the upholstery/stair attachments. I've never had a vacuum like this before and being that it's specifically designed for pet owners, the fact that the brush turns when the upholstery attachments are in use baffles me. While trying to vacuum our couch the brush actually wore on our carpet and heated it to the point of melting after less than a minute. I tried manipulating the vacuum and leaning it back off the carpet while using the attachment but that is just way too much effort. We tried it on all floor settings including hard floor with the same results. Honestly, the brush shouldn't turn until the handle is released for vacuuming so I'm not exactly sure why it was made this way. I returned it thinking I had a faulty vacuum and exchanged it for the same model (it does vacuum really well), and the second vacuum did the same, so I must assume it's simply a design flaw. So if your pet's don't shed on furniture or stairs I recommend this model, otherwise It pains me to say that I don't recommend it.Cat mom of three
Well, it seems to do ok but there are some things that make me wonder why they were designed the way they were. The on switch should be up at the top of the handle instead of being a foot switch where the reclining lever used to be for something like 100 years of Hoover vacuums. To recline the handle now requires I reach around with my foot and step on the front of the machine while forcing the handle down. It's very awkward and silly to change a design that worked for a century. And the rug height adjustment is a little touchy. I set it around medium and started vacuuming a very low rug and didn't know the belt was slipping until I smelled rubber burning. Oops. Once I learned to dial the height properly the vacuum does a pretty good job of cleaning pet hair and dirt from carpet. I had been vacuuming with a shop vac and thought my rugs were fairly clean, but the Hoover with the spinning brushes managed to pull out a lot more dirt that I missed. Emptying the canister is straightforward. I take it outside and blow it with a leaf blower. I can't imagine getting it sufficiently clean any other way without using water. Overall it's a marvel of engineering that performs its job very well, but with a couple very obvious design blunders that renders it a bit awkward to use.Randal

This is a quality gate and as another reviewer mentioned, I should have bought this months ago. The gate opens smoothly in both directions, and you can easily fold sections together to fit a smaller opening. I'm using it to help my youngest dog (12 lb puppy) consistently potty outside by creating a small area near their dog door. I moved my chair and computer in that area to keep an eye on things — and she can't sneak off to potty inside. So far so good! To those wondering how to make it work in a straight configuration, you could attach hinges on either side and attach to your walls with toggle bolts, or if handy, it's easy enough to screw some small blocks of wood together for feet.Clareart

The construction was good but the alignment of where a hole was made to screw in the 2 metal parts on one of the sides made them unable to mate. The 2 metal hinge pieces over lapped so they could not stack to form the hinge. Luckily, I was able to take an awl and a tiny file to elongate to hole enough to screw in the one part higher so the metal would align. The manufacturer needs to have better tolerance control so this does Not happen. Otherwise I would have had to return it and find another company.WF
This gate looks like it should work fine. HOWEVER, the width adjustment connectors are locked and must be unlocked before you start changing the angle of the sides. There is a "Caution" in the instructions that tells you how to do this. Such unexpected behavior really should be noted on the outside of the box. If you pull it out of the box and start messing with the side panels while unwrapping the gate, like we did, you will end up pulling the thing apart and bending the adjustment apparatus. BTW–the screws that hold it together seem tiny. This problem could be avoided by shipping the product with the width adjustment connectors in the open position. I am sad. I love this gate, especially for the price! I had to cover an 8 foot area and its perfect. My little one is 1 1/2 and he likes to shake it. Each end is connected into studs so it wiggles but its secure. Both sides have a little slide door, its easy to slide but I prefer to step over. The latch kinda sticks. I also needed a dog door so I actually made one myself with this gate and it was really easy! I know all the dog door long gates are super expensive. I hope this helps!jennifer
We bought this gate for an 89inch entryway between our dining room and living room and it works perfectly. Installation was fast and easy and it has held up to all of my kids banging on it and shaking it and whatever it is that kids typically do. the metal bracket screwed into the gate at the bottom is a little bent from their activity but I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon, bent, but still works perfectly. We don't have any problems opening it and closing it, it might be a little tricky when I am in a hurry but still only takes a few seconds. My 3 1/2 years old did open it once unassisted but he hasn't tried it since, I'd imagine its pretty tricky for most kids especially for the ones younger than 3. We bought this for our 1 year old and I wished I had bought it sooner!! I love that it condenses and swings open both directions, can be opened from either end, and that it would be very easy to put away for when guests come over if need be. It is advertised for bigger dogs, but it’s just the right size for our 35 and 40 pound dogs. I worry if we will be able to use it for our a golden retriever puppy once he’s full grown. The plastic is pretty flimsy on the walls and there is no back end do the water gets everywhere. This is the most useless waste of money ever! Bought it in December for our "Christmas puppy", mid January (1 month old) the cable got twisted up inside the reel case leaving 5 feet of slack for my dog. Then mid February the cable snapped and my dog got loose. Keep in mind this was only a 15 pound mellow dog. You would be better off buying a nylon rope. This thing is garbage. I have had other nylon retractables and twice I went outside after 30 min. and my dog had chewed herself lose and I had to go looking for her and I was not a happy person. I would be very sad if she ran off and got lost. this item is made with a small soft metal cable covered with plastic coating and the head spins around and will not tangle up. I hammered a 3/4 inch 3' long metal pipe in my front yard. 15' from my front door. I slip it in the hole and she barks at the birds and has her outside freedom every morning. The retractable leash is a great idea. Ideal for camping with 3 large dogs. However there is a major flaw in the mounted design, which caused the weld to snap within 5 days of use. Fortunately, we are handy enough to McGuyver a solution, but otherwise the product would be useless. The second major flaw is in the tension of the lead-which doesn't seem to hold itself when extended-so it continually pulls on the dogs neck. At one point, our golden was able to duck out of her collar & take off with kids down the beach as a result. For our older. Coonhounds, the tension is too much and uncomfortable for them. I purchased two of these "KennelMaster 24" Folding Black Wire 2 Door Dog Crate" and have had them for several months. What a great buy! Super easy to set up: they come preassembled and all folded up. They unfold and set up in a minute. I have one for each of my dogs: a Maltese/Bichon mix and a Chihuahua mix (who looks just like a small German Shepherd). We use their crates for the night time and when we leave the house. These crates are made of very nice thick metal. Incredibly sturdy. The latches are well made and smart-doggy proof. I like that the bottom is solid and can be easily removed and sanitized. My dogs have scratched and nibbled on the bars daily and the crates have held up like new. There are two doors on each crate: one door on a long side and one door on a short side. There's also a handle on top which makes it really easy to move around when I am relocating it, transporting the dogs, or just moving the crates to vacuum and clean underneath. My crates also came with some additional wire dividers that I don't use. I believe they are for making the crate smaller when you have a puppy and removing it as your dog grows. Crates can be really expensive so I was glad to find these at such a bargain price, especially because they are so well made. I know these crates will last many, many years. I have no negative things to say about these dog crates. I would highly recommend them! Please note: I do not put both dogs in the same crate, though they do both fit.
