However, it's cherry flavoured, which my dog didn't find appetizing. Even when I cover them he trys to get the bandage off to get at them. It says this provides some pain relief, so I'm hoping that will discourage the licking. My big guy isn't exactly what you might call graceful. He's a dork. A giant clumsy dork. So little aches and pains are just a part of our life together. I'm taking ibuprofen because he's nearly pulled my shoulder out of socket after trying to run and hide from the wind and he's taking his doggy aspirin because he tripped over his own feet while running and now yelps every step he takes. These really do help. They're easy to give wrapped in a little bread or dipped in peanut butter. I combined this with Charlotte’s Web Hip and Joint hemp for my dog with osteoarthritis. She could barely walk for three days. After two hours of taking this she is running and playing around even in the cold weather. Hairballs are the devil! My baby boy Buttons, was suffering tremendously. We took him to our vet on numerous ocassions where he was given very strong laxatives. This works great for our 16 year old tuxedo cat. She is still able to groom herself however she gets frequent hair balls and this helps her expel it. She also has scoliosis of the spine in which she is given meds to help alleviate her pain but causes constipation. Our previous vet started us on this and it works great especially if you use it either 2 hours after eating or 10 minutes before feeding. I turned to this product for my cat after everything else failed. She has a chronic sinus infection that did not respond to multiple rounds of two different antibiotics. We took our cat to the vet after he woke me up in the early morning howling in pain trying to urinate in the litter box. We discovered he had a UTI and his bladder was very inflamed and full of struvite stones. After a round of antibiotics and other meds to relax his urethra and dissolve the stones, along with new prescription diet food, I started researching other ongoing preventative maintenance options. An overnight stay at the vet and a midnight run to the emergency vet for fear of stones or crystals for our cat who was diagnosed with FLUTD since he was a kitten, and being told each visit that it was just chronic inflammation (a frustrating but common side effect of FLUTD) and there wasnt much the vets could do other than pain meds and anti inflammatories. Needless to say we were ready to try some additional preventative care and heard good things about this product. Its been 2 months now of adding the tonic to our cat's prescription wet food and so far so good. He doesn't notice or seem to mind the taste, no adverse effects of adding the recommended dose to his diet and best of all hes been happy and healthy. Seems to really help. It doesn't take much, either. I only give my cats 3 drops per day, and that seems to be enough to keep things flowing the way they should. One of my males had a problem when I introduced a new cat into the household, he wasn't stopped up, but did start holding it in and that caused inflammation. After a vet visit and meds from the vet to help him through the initial problems, this has helped keep him from holding it in again. It won't work miracles, if a cat, especially a boy, doesn't urinate for a period of 24 – 48 hours, take him in to the vet to make sure there's no blockage since that can very quickly become life-threatening, but this is good for maintaining things in working order.ageek33k

This is an excellent product with the best ingredients to heal (not just treat) intestinal lining problems. My girl has a bad case of IBS and was constantly crying and in horrible pain even after I put her on an organic home made diet. I bought the power version and for 3 weeks I mixed it in with her wet food as directed and did NOT do anything. Her 24×7 pain was excruciating for her and for me so I did not give up. After doing a lot of research, I realized that similar 'human' products for the same problems suppose to be given 30 minutes before meals. So, I diluted it in water and added a bit of sweat potato (for taste) and gave it to her, 30 minutes before her food, and IT WORKED! Like a miracle her pain was gone. For the first time after 3 months she was able to sleep peacefully. She is 11 lb so I give her 1/8 tsp of the powder and ¼ tsp of sweat potato (for taste) diluted in 1-2 tablespoons of water, 20 minutes before her meals, 3 times per day. I also give her probiotics, digestive enzymes, DGL(Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice), and Seacure (contains L-glutamine which repairs the mucosal lining) all mix with her food and I am happy to said she is no longer in any pain and on her way to full recovery! My Bichon has inflammatory bowel disease which has caused loose stools sometimes with blood. I tried changing her food, but she still had bouts of it. I have a 5 year old pit-mix who has an extremely sensitive stomach. We just went through the process of transitioning him to a different food due to his sensitivities. Despite slowly transitioning him to a different food, his stomach was not agreeing with it so we tried a different food that my vet recommended for him.
