I really liked this when I first fitted it on my cairn terrier. I had it snug around his tummy and the front velcro was secure. On our first outing he took off after a bunny and the velcro just busted open and he came right out of the harness. I'm lucky he ran into some bushes and not into traffic. Purchased Halti harness as last resort to control large pup. Due to urgent surgery at 12 weeks of age and essential crating post-operative 24/7 (except for toilet breaks) for 5 weeks following her procedure, the critical period of training unfortunately couldn't be completed during this time frame. Once able to commence training, she had grown significantly, was very strong and strong willed … finding a harness / lead to assist with her training was difficult until stumbling across the Halti harness. Bought this product for a 7 month old puppy that is still learning to walk on lead and pulls so badly on a flat collar that she starts to choke herself. Fitting of the harness was very easy and adjusting the straps very simple. The inclusion of the clasp that attaches to the collar is a very good idea as it helps center the front of the harness as well as a safety precaution if the harness comes loose. I was suprised by how well the harness worked, there was no pulling right from the start. When my puppy gets over-excited (e.g. sees another dog) she attempts to pull but is easily controlled compared to the flat collar. I find the straps need readjusting fairly regularly and as they get loose the harness becomes less effective. This could be overcome by stitching in place at correct adjustment but as my dog is still growing I don't want to do that just yet. Overall I am very happy with the harness and it suits my purpose of continuing to train my dog to walk calmly on lead without her pulling so hard that she is choking herself and possible causing damage.08cactus
Purchased this for our rescue red heeler who had never been walked on a lead at 16 months old. He pulled constantly and walks were unbearable. The first few walks seemed to be improving and now (even with all straps tightened and adjusted to fit) the front point connection slips around to the side of his neck so it loses all benefits of being a front pull harness and he's pulling as bad as ever! I bought this in a medium a week ago and I've used it around 2-3 times already. I have a maltipoo and she has a tendency to pull and try to go faster/farther and it would cause her to choke in her previous harness. However, not a single time since I've started using this has she choked/gagged. The sizing is a bit off for her though, since a small is too tight but a medium is too loose (but the medium isn't loose enough for it to be unsafe/falling). This is my third Gooby harness. Small size worked well when she was a puppy. She outgrew the Small we got her a medium and there was a small sign of tearing on this harness when we upgraded her to large. We got her the large pink and the fabric tore in half. The black fabric on the edge was the only thing keeping it together. Our dog weighs 18lbs but she’s built like a tank. If you have a dog that pulls I wouldn’t recommend this harness. I have a 54 lb. Springer-Standard Poodle mix. She is not strangely shaped but, she does have a bit of a deep chest. I bought the XL and it was super tight around the girth. Bought an XL-XXL, the girth was fine but then the neck was too big. Tightened up the neck all the way and it was hard to get it over her head (and still too big). This is a good product. It is a really long harness so it bunches up in the middle when my dogs sit and when we are walking sometimes. The quality of the material is good and I do not feel like they are going to pull out of the harness. I do have an issue with the sizing chart. I got a large because that is what I normally have to get for my labs and then after the order looked at the chart. It showed that I should have gotten an XL at least. The large fits both of them fine and I have a 50 lbs and 80 lbs lab!Huntere
I picked this harness because it looked comfortable and tough, both highly important things when it comes to gear my dog wears. My dog is a husky/border collie mix and walking him with only a collar is unpleasant for both him and me. With this harness I have much better control with him, and he seems happy to wear it. What a fantastic harness! My 90 pound dood is a consummate outdoorspoodle and now he can pack his own water, snacks, and frisbee thanks to the bungee cord feature. The harness is wonderfully customizable. I have a Huge, deep chested giant pal who is wearing the 2-3X size. The straps are incredibly adjustable at the shoulder, neck, and across the girth to fit a wide variety of pup shapes. The material is extremely durable, seems to resist staining (I give it a quick rinse when my mudpuppy has really had fun), and most important, the harness is lightly padded for comfort. My pal literally jumps for joy when he sees it because he knows he's off on an adventure. I also love the bright yellow which pops at night when we are out exploring. The bungee cording is threaded though material that feels like the hook side of velcro. I plan to purchase the Backcountry X Petco Go Bag so we can carry even more fun along on our adventures. Great quality harness. I like that they have no velcro compared to other harnesses I own. This style works great under shirts, coats, and sweaters. You also have a bit of play room on these harnesses and can adjust them to the perfect fit of your dog. I purchased the matching lime green leash, as well. This is our second Gooby harness purchase. I actually prefer this style to the previous mesh one with suede trim. Although the suede is super soft, it tends to stretch a bit and the light blue appeared to fade after extended use. I love the step-in style…it's perfect for our active little Yorkie!!!Linda B
We had previously purchased the Gooby Trekking Step-in Memory Foam Dog Harness РMandarin Orange РMedium and loved it so we thought this harness would be great as well. We ordered a medium, yet runs smaller than the ‘trekking’ harness (that medium fits her perfectly) Therefore it seems a bit too tight even on the loosest setting. We also ordered a large (from another website) and although that seems to fit her a bit more comfortably, it seems a bit too big. Just frustrated with the sizing on this harness but otherwise the design is what we need for our pup. If you can get the right fit, then it’s great!Leah W

Looks like it is well made, although it is the wrong size for my Yorkie. I ordered a medium based on her weight, but it is too big around she could step right out of it. The small size was perfect. If you are ordering go by your dogs chest measurement more than the weight of the dog.Debbie
