We bought two harnesses for our two dogs. This is the second time purchasing the same harness. We bought one for our previous dog & it was beautiful & lasted his whole life. It washed well too. I need to start by saying that my harness is beautiful and well made. It is near impossible to find a completely white harness out there and was very happy by the look and quality. That said, I ordered an XS for my Chihuahua which is supposed to fit a chest between 13.5 – 16 inch chest. My Chi has a 14.5 inch chest with the measuring tape snug under his front legs (12 inch long and 8lbs). This harness when looped to its smallest hung off of him with about 1.5 inches visible above his long hair. Truly unwearable without a sweater on. I cannot see this harness fitting a dog with anything less than a 16 inch chest. Just a warning to those toy dog owners.Amanda I.
all the other nylon harnesses tend to slip and lose their tightness after a while, I was forever discarding and buying new ones, trying many good brands. Artful Canine’s are unique. The nylon quality is sturdier and lasts longer, the leash doesn’t have sharp edges as many nylons do. I love this harness! My husky doesn't pull when he has it on. If I use the leash only he will pull me off my feet. With the paw five harness he doesn't pull me and we can walk at a normal pace. I have a pretty hairy long coat akita and I wanted to get a harness type to help with his stability and girth. He is an older dog so he doesn't pull per se but he does like to sniff other smells and I often need to pull him away from those. This harness is okay for that. I found that it doesn't fit him quite the way I would like it to and it slips around and the metal connection at the top slides through that fitting all the time and doesn't stay in the appropriate place (XXL). But boy was I wrong when I saw how it goes on. Genius! Simplest halter I've ever seen and very easy to use. Strongest one I've ever seen. Will last and not come apart. I used the weight chart to pick the size and ordered XXL based on their chart. When it showed up it was just a bit too big and I was worried my dog might slip out. I talked to support and they said its a custom order and I picked XXL so its my fault. Well I picked XXL based off their chart. Customer service did give me a coupon code for a larger % off and I ordered again and this time got the XL size. So even though I'm now paying more the harness is worth every bit of the money its costing me. I don't agree with their sizing chart, but the harness is such a great quality I want one that fits my dog. Shipping took a really long time on the last order so I assume Ill be waiting a long time again, but that's not this company's fault, just expect shipping can take a long time. I dont think I deserved a refund, but it would have been more fair to have had 50% off. Either way in the end I know Im going to end up with a super high quality harness and its worth it.Derrick J.

Then several months later, that one broke. I was getting concerned, but they replaced it. In another two months, the THIRD one broke and they will not replace it. When we first received the harness we were disappointed that it was way to big for our Yorkie/Scottie mix and were planning on returning it. Our error and I’m afraid others that had commented about it being too large made the same mistake we did. Found that we had to keep adjusting it from both sides. Patience! Maybe better instructions would be helpful. So easy to put on, steps right in and not having to wrestle with an alligator like the other harness styles.LoveLLbean
Great product, but UGLY color. There really should be other options. I am actively looking for something similar in a girly pink. The yellow is ugly, but for the dark winters in the northeast, I want my little girl to be visible to cars. She's blind, but has a will of her own. When we go on walks, I now know passing cars can see us crossing the street. There really should be pretty colors though. Regarding sizing, we have the smallest size and it BARELY works for my 12 pound dog. This is something to keep in mind. I am grateful that it does, because she will not tolerate wearing tags, but this is really not sized for small dogs.Lynnb0220

We just purchased the second harness for our second Aussie puppy names Red. We got the first one over two years ago for our first Aussie Blue. We had it sent several times back for repairs when Blue chewed it. These are the best harnesses with the front clip keeps them walking straight and pull less since they are notorious weavers while walking; it’s in their DNA being the herding breed. I bought the (S) forever harness for Kima after I realized the martingale design worked well for her and wanted to upgrade to a nicer harness. It's beautiful! The quality of the materials is incredible. The magnetic buckle cannot be more efficient to use, and safely secured. The reflective strips work very well and are a nice touch. Also, you can flip the harness around so the D-ring sits on the top – this has been PERFECT for when we drive out for a hike and I want to secure her seatbelt on the top. No need for a car harness!! We also got the (S) forever collar for her tags and love the comfortable, loose fit on her neck. She's 20 lbs and the two fit in conjunction with each other great. I feel much better knowing that she isn't wearing a tight collar, and it's easy to take on and off. I've washed both the harness and the collar in a garment bag, and they came out good as new.
