Reviews:
I bought this harness because of the front clip for my dog who likes to pull. The clip on the front is very flimsy and I don’t trust it with her. This is really surprising because the rest of the harness’ hardware is HEAVY DUTY. I almost returned it but I love the heavy duty handle on it. Otherwise a very well made harness – I use it every day, just not for walks where she will pull. I went with a halti instead. I don’t know why they cheaped out on the front clip as the rest of the harness is fantastic. I will say the attachments for around the belly are a bit cumbersome to do with a large breed, long haired bouncy puppy. It’s the old fashioned belt clips and I sometimes have a hard time sliding it through with all the hair.CaucasianShepherd
I actually bought 4 of theses harnesses and really like the overall design and felt my dogs were safe in the car. However I totally hate the metal buckles as some of them do not buckle very easy. I had to file them down to make them easier to manipulate. And for someone with arthritis putting them on is a struggle, certainly not buckle and go, more like fiddle and fiddle and go. Another thing is if dog turns around everything at the top gets tangled into a big mess. They really should product test what they sell with all kinds of dogs. They are made reasonably well but skimp in the seam fabric which come apart in some areas after even hand washing which then causes fraying of edges. I would pay more if they would fix these problems. Thank you. Their customer service though I found excellent.Esher
Three years ago I bought this harness for my dog and loved it!! Metal fasteners can't be chewed through, fit well and very durable. We have used when traveling since then. We recently got another dog, so got another one but the woven straps are so slippery that I can't keep the harness adjusted. the sliding adjusters slips on th webbing. Somewhere along the way, you must have changed webbing suppliers.Yellow Iron Lady

I have a Mini Australian Shepherd puppy, and this harness is so good!! The way the leash attachment “floats” along the dorsal strap makes it work really well no matter where he is in relation to me (front/back/side), and it had really helped him learn not to pull, because unlike a collar it’s not actually unsafe for him to test his limits (so I dont have to try and keep him from doing it, just address when it happens). I wish the metal buckle version came in blue!!clausti
Good product, comfortable for dog, easy to adjust for size differences, holds up well for changing weather conditions and stress from use. I have purchased three harnesses in the last two years, all for the same dog as he grows. Only problem is where the harness crosses the dog's back and where it adjusts under the belly. When the harness is attached to a leash on the back clip, it slips and shifts until the back clip and leash attachment is hanging on the dog's side. And where the harness has two fixed adjustments near the dog's belly where the harness is held in place by snaps, the snaps aren't strong enough to stay closed when the dog moves, so the straps going through those loops shift and slip until the harness is out of adjustment. Together with the problem of the loose strap on the dog's back, for a large dog like I have, the harness is always twisted or loose unless I make some reinforcing stitches at those two key junctions. The first harness I purchased when the dog was smaller already had those two key junctions stitched and held in place. The next two harnesses needed to be stitched heavily by me in order to stay in place, which was difficult because the material is very tough and thick and isn't easily sewn by hand with a standard needle and thread. I don't know why the company stopped reinforcing those key junctions for the harnesses needed for large, strong dogs. Once the harness junctions are reinforced, the harness is good for a large dog being tethered or walked, and is easily put on and removed even if the dog doesn't hold still. I especially like the fact that the harness can be custom fit around both the neck and the chest, and from neck to back. That allows for long term use while the dog grows.
Purchased and selected size last year based on Kurgo size chart recommendation. Harness was way to large, at the smallest setting on our 56# Aussie. Also hooks/ slides on back of harness twist and turn, don't stay in place.. The adjustment slides don't stay in place in the front and the harness , after one pull is huge again. Quality materials but poor execution of design. Very expensive for what you get. And CS rep hanging up when I called spoke volumes. mes.Janesdog

The medium Kurgo harness fits my 23 pound dog well. The harness itself is incredibly sturdy – I was actually surprised by how “heavy” it is. The blue color is nice and the reflective material is an added bonus. The harness slips on over the dog’s head then buckles closed on each side. So far, it has been very easy and fast to put it on and take it off my dog. The leash clips are positioned in such a way (middle of back) that makes it easy to walk the dog without her choking herself (a problem we have with our old harness) from pulling. The harness is a bit stiff, however, so it’s not good for car rides where dog needs to lie down for long periods. The only concern we have is the loops to clip the leash to don’t seem as sturdy as the rest of the harness. The are a thinner aluminum that bends easily. Overall, I am impressed with this harness and recommend it.Ndanip
I love Kurgo products and think they are great quality, but was disappointed in this harness. If you have a barrel chested dog and want to attach a leash to the front D ring (my pup is a puller, so that was the whole reason we bought this), I wouldn't recommend this harness. I have a 14 month old standard poodle (45 lbs) and we bought a medium as she fit smack dab in the middle of those measurements. Unfortunately, the harness just doesn't fit deep-chested dogs. The neck opening is weirdly large and can't be tightened very much so after adjusting the harness to fit her, the front D ring ended up right between her front legs. We couldn't attach a leash to the front ring because she would stumble over it while we walked. Seems like Kurgo could fix this pretty easily by just moving the front D ring higher to be closer to the neck opening, but unfortunately not easy to fix/solve the issue at home. We'll be donating this as it unfortunately doesn't work for us.torvinn
My boyfriend has the Nylon Reflective Journey Air Dog harness (M), which looks like this harness mixed with the Tru-fit harness kind of. I have this Journey Air Dog harness (M) for my GSD/husky mix. We have a couple of issues with this specific model of the Journey harness. She has an athletic build with a pretty deep chest that is also narrow as heck, and due to the longer padding on the top of the chest piece, I'm unable to adjust it enough so that it fits her well. It renders the front D-ring useless, as the harness will pull to the side of her body loosely. Unfortunately, sizing down would mean that it would not be able to fit around the deepest part of her ribcage. The other issue I have with this harness is that I'm nervous it chaffs the back of her armpit area. It's pretty snug up against the backs of her legs–maybe even too snug. I would size up, but then that would exacerbate the issue with the front. I'm almost certain it's an unpleasant experience for her as she runs away when I so much as pick up the harness. I brought up the fact that my boyfriend has this type of harness (but a different/earlier model) because I am able to adjust that one well to my dog. None of the issues present in my harness are present in the other one, likely because of the smaller chest padding. I would go to the Tru-Fit harness for my pup, but we go hiking a bunch, and the handle on the back is a must-have. What is probably the most upsetting is that I cannot find this other model of harness in stock and in the size we need anywhere as of today. I simply cannot recommend this harness if your pup has a narrow chest.2dogs1cat

I brought two of these a couple of months ago, one dog it works great. My other dog has managed to tie himself in knots around the seatbelt, tried with and without the extension to control his movements and he still ties himself up in knots. Worse he has managed to have the D-ring tear through a seatbelt. He has both slipped out of the harness and managed to undo the seatbelt. At first it helped with is nervousness travelling but now he has turned in HoudiniGlovair
Ever since my first Kurgo booster seat, I’ve been a huge fan. These harnesses are no exception, and are the perfect companion for the booster seat lineup. I’ve had to “brake check” one of my dogs to keep him from trying to get out of his seat with the little leverage he has in his seat. He “backpeddled” back into his seat and it didn’t take long for him to realize that he’s safe in his seat with his harness. Not only does Kurgo offer exceptional quality products (I have MANY things), they stand behind them with their lifetime guarantee. I’ve had a few things needing replacement over the years, and Kurgo honors their lifetime warranty with integrity. I was on vacation 2 weeks ago and a lady said she had the exact same harness for her dog, and we talked about how great Kurgo and their products are. Just knowing the lifetime warranty is honored warranty the price tag I’m happy to pay…..not to mention the quality of it with the materials used. Kurgo puts a lot of thought behind their products.Beans

Pluses: Hitching my dog (border collie cross 16" neck, 22" chest) to the chest ring on a Size L harness stopped her pulling. The harness is lightweight, easy to get on and off, and seems to be comfortable. Minuses: Unfortunately the nylon webbing that secures the chest attachment ring has frayed after approximately 10 walks. I believe that the edges of the slot where the nylon webbing threads through the steel attachment ring are machined with edges that are too sharp. They are essentially sawing through the nylon webbing (see photos), especially I'm guessing when the ring is under tension. I just noticed maybe a 1/4 inch tear Monday, then checked the harness after our walk yesterday and the tear had visibly extended about halfway through the attachment webbing. I purchased two harnesses, so I used the second harness this morning. The same damage already is beginning to happen. To me the real issue here is the harness has been used for a couple weeks as intended, and that ring sits low on the chest. And unless you check your dogs' leash gear like you're a parachute rigger there is a potential not to see the damage, and that makes this unequivocally a product safety issue.Dogboy

Reviews:
I own this product and need to make it VERY CLEAR for owner to NOT FOLLOW THE ORVIS PHOTOS! under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should the seatbelt carabiner be attached to the metal tabs!!!! It says so in the instructions, and if you watch videos, you will see it's due to being a weak point in the event of a crash/hard stop. the SAFEST attachment is to use the carabiner to attach the top webbing (which the D ring slides along) to the seatbelt. Yes, Kurgo uses a strap for "more movement" but that just creates another weak point that can break. Watch videos available from the Center For Pet Safety regarding how easily harnesses fail. regarding the rest of the harness: It's not bad for travel, but some dogs may not like how you will put it over the head. The straps can also cause itchy spots where the sewing is. I wrapped those areas with medical tape which has reduced some of the shaking and scratching my dog does. The harness is not as good at stopping pulling than another, thinner harness I use for everyday walking.JohnSmith1882
We purchased this harness in size L when Miles was 8 months old at around 70 lbs. A year and five months later, he's 88-90 lbs and the size L fits, but with no room for adjustments. (Didn't realize our border collie mix would be so large!) We've used this harness EVERY DAY for daily walks and car rides. It's great for a small person like myself to control his powerful tugs when he sees a squirrel. It's also held up well and does not rust when he wears it swimming. The harness has not molded and does not retain smell and we have washed it only a handful of times. It's also very easy to put on, if your dog allows you to slip it over their head. I then stand above him and easily hook the straps into place pulling the "bib" up underneath his belly. He does not need to step into anything. Preliminary adjustments may take some time, but the harness rarely, if ever, loosens making getting out the door quick and painless. So far I have owned this harness for about a year and a half and do not need to re-order one any time soon. Great value!Upsidedown

I really liked this when I first fitted it on my cairn terrier. I had it snug around his tummy and the front velcro was secure. On our first outing he took off after a bunny and the velcro just busted open and he came right out of the harness. I'm lucky he ran into some bushes and not into traffic. Im afraid to use it again and will be seeking a refund from chewy.Nise
When our dog outgrew here last harness, I wanted something that was durable and had the ability to add patches as she is still in training and has social anxiety. We love to hike, but was discouraged by most of the harnesses we purchased in the past as they would just slide around and my dog didn't like using them. This harness however, my dog actually gets excited to wear… likely because its comfortable and it means we are out on another adventure. It doesn't slide, even when loaded with the optional pouches attached to both sides.TrailHound
This harness is impeccably constructed. Definitely worth the cost. We purchased the harness and the backpack attachments and love the versatility of the system. Our puppy is slightly leash reactive so we loved the ability to add “ask to pet” and “in training” patches when we’re working with him. For size reference, we have a miniature American Shepherd and got the medium size.Janna

I have a pit/lab mix, and he hasn't been on many walks, even though he needs to to cut down a few extra lbs. I looked at the sizing chart, and he was right in between the 2 sizes, so I went with the bigger one because I wanted him to be comfortable. I dont know if size had anything to do with it, but I couldn't get it to lay flat on him. It comes with several adjustment spots, so I can make sure it fits him good. He seems to really like it, as compared to other harnesses we have used with him. The material is nice and padded, it seemed very comfortable for my dog. The leash attachment is also in a really good place to pull at his chest and not his neck. In the time using this, I have not noticed any issues with the zipper or with the quality. I'm excited to let my dog get out more!Alexandria
When we rescued our Westie/poodle mix, he had never walked on a leash and fought us to the point that we had to carry him a few blocks and then try to leash walk. This Stash and Dash harness is great. It is so easy to take off and on that Remy doesn't seem to notice. When I use the hook at the bottom of the harness he stops pulling and tugging. Added bonus is the fact you can pack it up into its own attached backup. Awesome product. He is 20 pounds and I got the small. Good fit with room to grow.Marti
This is a great harness because it is breathable and doesn't make my dog too hot. It also packs up into a small package that can be attached to a bag by the included caliber clip. You can also pack snacks and a little food in the pouch while your pup is wearing it. It also has nice metal clips at the chest and the rear of the front of the harness under the pouch. This is good for pups that like to pull instead of being led.Ladywolf1979

The Zip Line Leash Combo is just outstanding. Great material, great design, and it does just what it is advertised to do, and does it well … The zip line is very adaptable and allows one to find, and use, strong and secure attachment points to anchor it. Well made and easy to use, it greatly expands the freedom of motion of dogs in SUV's. The Leash is designed to complement the Zip Line and fits it hand-in-glove. The many different carabiner attachment points on the leash allow one to tailor a range of length adjustments to ones circumstances, and Kurgo's carabiners are strong, and elegant, and add further versatility. This Combo works perfectly in conjunction with the TFSH-3055 harness, and the seat belt loop which comes with the harness can be fixed (via the loop) to a fixed Zip line, and its carabiner used to attach the leash. This gives both an additional length-adjustment range and an easy clip-on / clip-off point for the leash. Super! It works perfectly for us and our doggies, giving them maximal freedom to fit varying circumstances. Our dogs now ride in safety and style, and we do, too. Kurgo is a great "find".AandL1
works great , good quality manufacturing .easy to set up and has lots of adjustment in fitting too the car and for the length for the dog. my problem . and i'm sure your pet is the same , is that our dog circles in the back seat and very quickly it is knotted and twisted up. solution , quick trip to the hardware store for a shackle with a rotating fixture. problem solved.
About a month ago, my in-laws got into a terrible roll over crash on the freeway in the middle of the night. Their 1 year old puppy was thrown from the car. After 4 hours of searching for her in the dark, only when the sun started to rise did they find her in the bushes. She was lucky and only had minor scratches and bruises. After that crash, they have been too worried to take the dog on long car rides. This Kurgo Auto Zip Line for dogs came just in time. I was just searching something like this for their dog at all the local pet stores and online. I was hesitant to buy anything online because you never know what quality it is. And at my local pet stores, all of them looked like choking hazards or it didn't give the dog enough freedom. The Kurgo Auto Zip Line is fully and easily adjustable to fit any size vehicle. And I also like that you can also adjust the length of the tether to your dog easily, in case you didn't want your dog getting off of the seat. I also REALLY like that the tether is actually a leash. I love products that are multi-purpose. It shows that it was designed with real care and mindfulness.TiredButHappyTigerMom

We started using this harness with our 4-month old English Setter on long car rides. Since it hooks through the seat belt strap she has some movement—she can spread out the length of the backseat. The fixtures are nice and heavy, giving me extra assurance of her safety. The harness is a bit too heavy for regular walks. Which works out fine, as our trainer recommended that we reserve this one for car use only. She also recommended not using the harness when our dog runs as it constricts shoulder movement. I glad I purchased it.JoanWT1127

We were rear-ended on the freeway Sunday night. One dog was in the "Impact" and one in the "True Fit". While both dogs "flew" a little, the harnesses did their job keeping both dogs in the backseat. We spent a couple of days checking on them to make sure there were no latent injuries or bruising. The harnesses did really well. Note that the harnesses were approximately four years old, give or take. We need to replace them now, since they've been in an accident and could now be compromised.agd0414
Bought for a large, barrel-chested but narrow golden doodle. The straps still barely touch where they're supposed to be held together by the elastic hook at the top, but despite being almost too small, the hard plastic chest piece cuts into the tops of his legs in a way that makes the product absolutely unusable. It doesn't curve to his body at all, and would not be at all suitable for sitting in a car without causing him pain. The back end of the chest piece also doesn't conform to his body at all, even when tightened – the hard flaps stick straight out to the sides. If your dog has a tall narrow triangular chest, rather than wide and rounded, I'd look elsewhere.lrose
We purchased this harness for our female boxer who likes to back out of most harnesses. Purchased a size medium although her weight fits into the lower range of the size large because we had problems with a similar car harness not adjusting small enough around her neck therefore allowing her to back out of it. Her neck measurement is 15 inches and her chest measurement is 31 inches. She appeared more comfortable in this harness then the one we previously purchased and did not try to back out of it like with the other. The amount of possible size adjustment on this harness is great compared to the other we have. The straps on this harness are one continuous loop instead of one set for the neck and another around the chest so you don't end up with the neck area too large which happens often with large chested dogs. The only con we have noticed is that the harness does seem to loosen up with use so it has to be readjusted. It would be helpful if there were a way to buckle the seat belt and then use a sturdy loop or some kind of attachment to go through the two loops on the back of the harness and around the seat belt because it can be hard to do and potentially could give the dog a chance to escape while you are fighting with the seat belt to get them hooked in.Boxer

Reviews:
This booster seat keeps me and my dog safe while driving. It tethers securely over the seat and to the seatbelt, and my dog is tethered securely inside the booster seat. The seat can be set to the appropriate height so she can sit and watch out the windows. It also allows room for my dog to lie down and snooze during the drive. I can reach across and give her a pat if she needs contact. It also allows her to keep an eye on my driving! This was an excellent investment!!
This is very sturdy. Once you attach all the straps, this booster seat does not even wiggle. It has an adjustable strap that goes over the headrest and another adjustable strap that goes around the seat itself. With the seatbelt connected, another strap is connected to that. This same strap also has a carabiner that you attach to your dog’s harness. I have the Kurgo Tru-Fit Enhanced Strength car harness for my 9 lb girl. She loves being able to look out the windshield or her side window by just sitting there. It’s also much safer for both of us. The tether barely allows her to stand with her feet on the front or sides of the booster seat. There is no way for her to fall out unless the harness or tether breaks. Also want to mention that the fob on her collar is for her electric dog door, it’s not a bark deterrent.)KimberlyO
Bought this about a month ago, was looking forward to giving our pet a safe yet interesting ride with us. set it up, put him in it, (he is a 22lb Beagle) off we go, and about 15 minutes from home he is standing beside me between the seat! WHAT?? How did you do that, pull over and he chewed through the strap that is supposed to hold him in the carrier. The carabena that hooks his harness to the carrier is HUGE dare I say from the Hymalias, but the tiny little strap I dare say a 2 year old could chew through. Poor design of a good idea. Waste of money.

I needed this so badly!! Prior to purchasing this seatbelt bungee tether, my boyfriend was rigging up bungee cords to our boy's harness to keep him in place. That was a hassle getting him loaded into the car and untangled to get back out! Our pup rides with me almost everywhere I go, so I really needed a safe, easy way to keep him belted in. Now it's as simple as: Leave the tether buckled into the seatbelt all the time. Simply clip the carabiner to the dog's harness and you're ready to go! I also purchased the non-bungee (fixed length) version to keep him from trying to eat our food while we sit in the front seat! Con: next time, I will purchase the free-swivel version because our dog tends to spin around and around while hanging out in the backseat, making the tether twisted like a landline phone cord.Kaley
I bought this seatbelt for my dog when we moved across Canada. I knew we would encounter wildlife on the road at some point and wanted to make sure she didn't go flying if we had to hit the brakes, which we did have to a few times. Every time an animal ran in front of us, it kept her secure. She is also anxious in the car, and tends to pace and stand on the center console – so the seatbelt keeps her in place so she doesn't block our vision. Today her seatbelt was put to the test. We were coming back from a trip to the dog park when we were hit going about 55 km/h, give or take. She is a 70lb dog and even with the huge impact (airbags deployed in the other car but not ours) she came out completely fine. If she hadn't been buckled in, she would have been thrown face first into the driver side window. The dog sustained no injuries (the rest of us did, even with our seatbelts) and we have Kurgo to thank! I absolutely recommend this product because you never know what's going to happen. It is fantastic, very simple design and super effective.Zsgoodwin
Good quality and a strong belt but the clasp which attachs to a harness does not move if the dog moves around somewhat on the back seat (unlike the type of clasp normally seen on the end of most dog leashes which can rotate). My dogs harness ended up getting tangled and eventually the rope of the seat belt had been wound around so many times that the dog harness was uncomfortably tight on the dog (during a long journey). I have since tried a one with a different clasp and it moves with the dog and is better.Mbm21

We purchased a Seat Belt Tether as an accessory to our Journey Dog Harness. What a great product – a seat belt for our dog – who knew? While driving once we had to make a fast stop that caused our dog to take a tumble from the Back seat into the space between the front seats in our van. Ever since then she has a little trauma and prefers to lay down when we drive. After seeing this product we thought we would give it a try and it works great. The metal tab fits our Dodge Caravan's seat belts perfectly. Thank you for a thoughtful and safe product!JandL
The belt is good quality. But when I first purchased this product, the part that goes into the buckle, somehow became bent whilst my dog was wearing it in our car, it also clicked out of the buckle and set him loose in the car. I spoke to PetCircle about this and they sent a new one. I recently used the new one, and the carabiner is unreliable, it can flick out of place and remain open. Basically the metal ware is not of good quality, and they are arguably the most important part of the seat belt. I've had 2 seat belts from this brand and both have been faulty in some way. I will not be using this product in my car. Luckily I have a different one, one that you tread the seatbelt through a loop, from a different brand, that is far more reliable. If you are after a car restraint do not buy this one in particular, its not reliable and certainly not worth risking my pets life.RUE

I recently purchased this due to my (owners) disability. I can't hold onto a normal leash with my puppy and are still teaching her good leash manners. So when she would pull no matter what leash I had or as strong a grip I thought I had, the leash would fly out of my hand. Now I can walk her and not worry about losing control of the leash. The leash itself is made out of great materials. It feels sturdy and it seems like it will last a great while. I also like that the carabineer is replaceable. I want to have a retractable leash so when we go to a park that is open and just us, she can wander on her own with my supervision. My only complaint is that the sling does not come in any other colors, hence the 4 stars. It would have been nice if it came in black or a girl color to match my puppies leash but I am still very satisfied. Thank you! Chris & LunaIsland Adventures
I would love this 100% if mine was made exactly how it is in the picture. Instead I have a mirror image and when I walk my dog on the left side of me the bottle opener is in the back. He works with me and I want to keep this on when driving so I don't have to take it on and off however the double layer in the back and the bottle opener make it uncomfortable. I've called asking for one that looks like the picture and they sent me a replacement with the same issue. I called again and still haven't received one that is made how it looks in the picture.Munchkin
