This kennel is strong. The tie-down holes, one per corner, go through both the top half and the bottom half of the kennel, which is an excellent improvement over no tie down holes. Another improvement over the old version is that water cannot collect on top since there are no bowl-like indentations on the top. The door is heavy construction, and can be mounted as Left or Right swing. I put the kennel on the passenger's side of the vehicle so that I can use the empty space behind the driver for carrying a jug of water, leashes, and other stuff. The advertised length is 40", but be aware that the usable length or "inside" length is 33". This is adequate if your dog is 33" or less from the top of the tail to the end of his front nails, while lying in the "sphinx" position. ONE CON: There are no drainage holes in the bottom half. I plan to drill my own (well, get the hubby to do it). A suggestion for the manufacturer: Make a Truck Version of the kennel. It would be the same as this except for two changes: (1) Add drain holes, and (2) Make the top rear panel (opposite the door) from transparent acrylic, so the driver can see through it. This would be a safety feature, as the blind spot would be reduced.Karen

I was a little skeptical about how this would work, but it turned out to be a great purchase! I started out training our small dog to sit inside with the top flap unzipped. I fed him a treat and then released him after a few minutes. Within a few days, he was asking to be put in . Then we started short trips around the house, wheeling it like a suitcase and slipping him a treat and praise every few minutes.he caught on right away and liked how cozy and secure he felt. The only improvement to be made is that when the weather is cold or wet, the lower mesh secrions allow moisture in, splash up from the wheels. I cut the end off a stretchy flannel pillowcase, and pulled it over the whole bag, rolling down the top part so my dog could could see out , but covering the lower half . This worked great! Fluffy first sniffed at it, then he (drama queen) was upset at me for something and went in and refused to budge. Later he came out all warm and toasty, so it is his fav hang out, even tho it tips. I think he tips it on purpose. Easy to put together, just zips together! Looks kinda like a big hat box from the 60's. He tried to unzip it, clever boy, but not this one. Two openings, so if he's drama queening it up I can just open the top and pop him in, he can stand up in it, lay down, curl up, stretch out. He loves the Thinsilate insulation, but this is only for winter, Thinsilate keeps stuff warm better than cool. He has a fully ventilated summer backpack/roller. I haven't tried the method described for car travel yet. His only complaint was after I put the rollers on the bottom was hard and lumpy, started to take off like that and my drama queen howled until I put a folded throw and sham to break the hardness, a small pillow would do the same. I buy the $2.50 throws out of the bin and put them into a couple of shams that don't match anything. The pet carrier is not a crate, it is pretty delicate compared to the hard-sided pet crates. With respect and care I expect this to last several years.
I purchased this for my 10 lb puppy. She had plenty of room to stand, turn, and stretch while inside. Even better, I think it will still be a good size when she is full grown at 15-17 lbs. I took this on a long roundtrip journey involving several train changes, a bus ride, and Ubers. It is very lightweight and functions well both when rolled or carried by the shoulder strap. It is by far the best I've seen (this is the 4th pet carrier I ordered in search of the perfect one) in terms of design and material quality. The only problem is the strap inside the case, the one that can be clipped to a pet collar, was already coming loose before we even used it once. Then halfway through the trip, one of the zipper pullers on the top flap came right off the zipper tracks, followed by the 2nd puller a few days later even though I tried to be extra gentle. Now the whole top flap is coming unsewn. But I love this case so much I have ordered another, hoping the sewing quality was just a fluke. If the 2nd one holds ups, I will give it 5 stars.Pug Lover

The tree is just a tad under 5 foot. Not a problem for our little living room. The LED lights can be very bright–but you can unplug the LED lights! It still has 8 different light mod's even with the LED's unpluged. The longer branches on the bottom will not hold heavy ornaments. Light weight ornaments and garland is fine. Putting this together – I would say that the plastic is a good construction, the clasps and screws are great, and the metal bars for the windows look to be a decent quality. They ship you extra clips and screws in case you have a problem. I personally don't like the wheels (on any crate), so I'll leave those off and the pet bowl might be okay if I was sending the dog via airplane. The Large size isn't very large in my opinion. A dog should be able to stand up, turn around and lay down. I think this crate is more like a 50 pound max than 75. My 10 week old Golden Female Retriever will likely outgrow this kennel in 6 months and be in that weight range. In a way I'd like to exchange it for a bigger one.RichH

The carrier was better than I expected. The size is fine for my dog. The pad for the bottom is very soft. The part with the wheels is attached to the carrier with velcro strips and two flaps that also velcro together so it can be removed easily. The solid handle periscopes out to a comfortable pulling position and goes back just as easily. It also has a handle and a big padded carrying strap. I have one of these in the beige color that works great but had to order a second one when I got a second cat amd the screws did not tighten correctly with assembly of the new carrier. The screws are loose and just spin in the hole. As an expirement I disassemled the one i already had that worked properly and tried to reassembke that one with the screws and plastic toppers provided on my new one and figured out it was the plastic toppers that were faulty. The plastic toppers in my newest one did not screw down all the way properly and did not fit the screw properly. Major quality control issues with this company it seems. Very disappointingNathanC
I needed a carrier and saw this online. There were 2 left. I went in to get one. None of the carriers of any size were boxed. I only saw one and looked it over with the size of carrier I wanted in mind. It seemed to be the right size, so I took it to the cashier. On the way home, I saw a black plastic patch on the hood hanging open. I tried to close it, heard a crack and discovered one of the tabs on the patch had completely broken off. On closer inspection at home, I discovered that there were supposed to be 2 plastic patches on the hood with 3 tabs each. Under these, the hood is indented as though these are places for storage or something. So, now I have a broken patch in one spot and no patch at all in the other spot on the hood. The kennel itself was easy to assemble, seems sturdy enough, and is the size I wanted, so I think I will keep the kennel, but I wish manufacturers wouldn't add bells and whistles to their products if the bells and whistles are only going to break and fall off. This item was not on sale or on clearance, so I am disappointed in the quality.Valuhunter

This guy can break a caribiner off a cage, just about every time. This cage is between genuine heavy duty to medium crate. All panels bolt down w 2 bolts top n bottom, for a total of 4 bolts per side. Great crate! Large crate!
I would have rated the cage with 5 stars but unfortunately there were a few bends in the frame from shipping when it arrived. After carefully straightening that bends the cage is just what I wanted. It was already pretty much assembled you just had to unfold the sides, attach the wheels and top then tighten the bolts holding the sides to the bottom. I used this for my cat to travel overseas. The only issue I had was finding a place to zip tie the door closed. I tried to go through the peg holes but they were too tight and it ended up making it so I couldn't properly shut the door. My cat had plenty of room in her carrier to move around and lay down. The structure held up well for the trip as we had one rough landing and one not as smooth as I would have liked landing.
These cages are the absolute weakness and flimsy cages. I paid 100 for medium and 140 for xl. My five month old Dutch shepherd busts out of this cage. My full grown male kicks the door down like it’s knocking over my toddler. Flimsy weak and way over priced. Totally not worth the money.Crap cages

It is a neutral color and looks good in your kitchen, bedroom or where you keep your dog. The kennel also provides a rectangular cage on both sides on the top half so the dog can look out. I bought the medium sized carrier for my 20 year old 19 pound Siamese cat. Other reviews said that the medium sized carrier was acceptable by most airlines and I needed it for our trips to Florida on Frontier Airlines. It is a tight fit but it does fit under the middle seat. Did not try the aisle or window. The main complaint that I have is the difficulty of access. There is a metal bar that separates a zippered lower opening and a zippered upper opening. It appears that the bar is used for stability, which is fine, but it greatly reduces the accessibility to your pet when you have to take them out for the TSA inspection at a crowed airport security checkpoint. It is very convenient to carry my dog in a backpack while going through security. Then pulling up the handle and being able to roll her to my gate. I have a 7 lb chihuahua and I bought her the medium carrier. She is a little longer in the body than the average chihuahua. She fits beautifully and has plenty of room to move and lay down in both the upright position and when the carrier is laying down. I would definitely suggest you put in a soft blanket because there is no cushioning, I also went and bought a soft waterproof material and velcroed it on the Part of the carrier that she would lay on under the seat. I purchased two of these "KennelMaster 24" Folding Black Wire 2 Door Dog Crate" and have had them for several months. What a great buy! Super easy to set up: they come preassembled and all folded up. They unfold and set up in a minute. I have one for each of my dogs: a Maltese/Bichon mix and a Chihuahua mix (who looks just like a small German Shepherd). We use their crates for the night time and when we leave the house. These crates are made of very nice thick metal. Incredibly sturdy. The latches are well made and smart-doggy proof. I like that the bottom is solid and can be easily removed and sanitized. My dogs have scratched and nibbled on the bars daily and the crates have held up like new. There are two doors on each crate: one door on a long side and one door on a short side. There's also a handle on top which makes it really easy to move around when I am relocating it, transporting the dogs, or just moving the crates to vacuum and clean underneath. My crates also came with some additional wire dividers that I don't use. I believe they are for making the crate smaller when you have a puppy and removing it as your dog grows. Crates can be really expensive so I was glad to find these at such a bargain price, especially because they are so well made. I know these crates will last many, many years. I have no negative things to say about these dog crates. I would highly recommend them! Please note: I do not put both dogs in the same crate, though they do both fit. My GSD pup is crate trained. I purchased my first PetMate plastic crate in 2004 and never had an issue. When my GSD got too big for his wire kennel, I upgraded the size and got a PetMate Ultra (for its airline approved status). For three solid nights and any day time crate use highly distressed my dog. No one in the house slept. He was quite agitated (barking, clawing at the crate bottom, etc). He could not sleep or lay down in the crate. On the fourth night, I put him in the crate with the same result. Ten minutes later, I took out the old 2004 crate (flat bottom, no injection mold markers) and popped him in it. He sat down and gave the biggest sigh. I finally understood he had been in distress because of the new crate. On inspection, I discovered these round things under the bottom, pressed into them with my forearms and immediately felt the pressure points/pain. Who thought this design was a good idea? Did PetMate even try it? I beg designers to sit in it, lie down in it, press their forearms on to these circle things. Question your motives. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a cheap excuse and terrible quality. I’ll be cross-posting this comment on multiple pet store sites. I’m so unimpressed with this design. The incredible distress my dog endured because of shoddy design is unacceptable. PetMate needs to do better for the pets you aim to help. PetMax shouldn’t sell this product; they should ensure the pets they serve do not experience stress or injury.Ginn
The plastic has gotten more brittle than it used to be. Already has stress marks on corners and not even used. The sky kennels I have from 20 years ago are still functioning. Initial impression is positive and the kennel has potential. However, the fail point of this kennel is the door. The welds between the door and the hinge are very poorly done. With light use (maybe a couple times a month) and a well behaved dog that does not fight his kennel or paw at the door, mine broke in less than 2 years. I expect a lot more from a product that costs this much. Furthermore, the company’s solution was a 10% discount on a replacement door, which they conveniently sell for over $130. The kennel is extremely well made. The shape of it maximizes floor space (compared to the Ruff Land), it is extremely well ventilated, and I love that it can be locked.
