Subaru Forester Dog Crate For Sale (2024 Update)

I moved all the way from Northern California to DC in the car with my two cats (one 9 lb. domestic shorthair and one 18 lb. ragdoll), and this crate was perfect! They had enough room to move around while also being comfortable, it helped a lot with my anxiety that I could buckle the crate to the seats, and it was super easy to set up. I would recommend putting puppy pads under it so that your back seats don't get gross, and you need some other plan to get kitties in and out of the car because it's not a solid base (you certainly can't carry a kitty in the crate outside the car), but it worked great and was the perfect solution.ZorraTheo

I bought two of these kennel/soft crates, one for each of my cats, in the event I ever need to evacuate my home (for my bug-out kit). They are roomy enough to hold a small litter box, food and water dishes, plus let the cat stretch its legs. I can also put both my cats together in one for traveling in the backseat of my car. The kennels fold up to the size of a large briefcase. It is a little tricky to fold them up but not a dealbreaker. These kennels are not ideal for long term situations, but they gave me great peace of mind knowing I have a safe way of transporting and housing my cats in the event of an emergency.Karen BH

I had purchased this crate and I had found the design exactly what I was looking for. So I have bought 2 more and I plan to purchase 2 more soon. I would not choose another brand or style by the same manufacturer because it performs just as I need. My only suggestions are that the crate has a 4 door option and that the tray can be optionally removed from the side. My only complaint is that the instructions to set up the crate were not clear. Once you've done it though no problems. Ready to go in moments of the box!rabowasco

We bought a larger crate 6 months ago that housed 3 small dogs and 2 cats for 3 days while we drove across country. For several months the 3 dogs shared it at night (the cats found another place to sleep). Recently, we decided to separate the 2 older dogs from the younger and bought 2 of the medium sized crates. The "travel crate" was folded and put away in the laundry room for the next time we travel with all our babies, and we stacked the 2 medium crates. Even stacked, these crates have good strength and a solid build. I can't say enough about how exceptional these crates are and the divider is great when needing to separate pets in a pinch.mslubner

I recently purchased two of these crates for '13 Chevy Suburban. Got the largest crates available for Giant Schnauzer and a Rottweiler puppy. The Giant S can just barely turn around in it. Will see if the Rotty fits when full grown. The crates fit without having to take the third row seats out. There are about four inches to spare width wise with both crates in. Can load and unload from rear or side doors of suv ,if third row seats are removed. These crates are a bit heavy for me to carry in and out of shows and trials, but know they need to be heavier for sturdiness with large breeds. I'm going to try some sort of wheels for moving in and out of venues. Would like to have crate pads and/or cool mats that fit these crates.Kaija

The absolute perfect size to fit between the raised backseat and front seat of our truck. We looked all over for a crate big enough for our retriever yet narrow enough to fit in the backseat. The only problem is that I called Midwest to see if they made a crate mat to fit and they don’t! No one does!!Cbreslin

I purchased two 42 inch dog crates to put in my Toyota Sienna Mini Van. They were a perfect fit. My dogs stand 24 inches at the withers and weigh 75lbs and 62lbs. Both have ample room to stretch out, stand up and turn around. The crates are heavy duty and I love the fact that they have 2 doors so I can load them from the inside as well. I have enough room on either side to store a soft crate or other dog related items. I am totally pleased with my purchase.AgilityMom

I am so happy I made this purchase! These crates were an important safety upgrade for me. The medium and intermediate fit perfectly into my Crosstrek with a little room to spare. I love having a second exit so I can grab them from the front or back as needed. I added the tie down kit to be sure I could attach everything easily. I also added the extra holes. I have had the dark wood crate for almost 15 years, got it for one of my boxers who is now 13 when he was a pup. He loves it whether door is open or closed! Not sure who said not made well, but this is attractive, solid and well-built. We even put TV and box on it for a few years and have our photography printer (heavy color) in the office on it now. Flimsy material. Frame bent so difficult to construct. Space between bars is so wide our cats escape. It's way too expensive for this quality. Go to PetSmart and buy one that is comparable for half or less the price. I would send it back if weren't such a hassle to ship.cat_sanctuary_online_store

This cage is awesome and HUGE. My 90 lb German Shepherd has plenty of room in it, my Australian Shepherd can even go in with him and there' still plenty of room. I would definitely recommend getting this cage especially for the price!!brownsfan-2122

Quality product at an awesome price. This crate is heavy duty enough for my 2 year old, 160lb Great Dane. She is able to stretch out and stand up. When she does her pawing at the bedding at bed time it doesn't shake or rattle. Its easy to open and close. The only con would be the styrofoam used in the packing…it shreds up during the shipping…it flies everywhere!courage216

I love it dog hates it lots of room I can leave her at home and run my errands and know she is safe and my apartment is the way I left it. Summer is almost here and it's getting to hot can't leave her in the truck easy to put together and shipping was fast. Thank youmildnmdon

Good quality heavy duty cage for my Doberman puppy. The chewed the wires off the regular cage. Only concern is the tray goes under the metal grate at the bottom of the cage. Not good at all. He got his foot pad/toe caught in it. Also his collar caught in it. I forced the tray to go into the cage on top of the grate. Problem solved. Need to have an option of where to put it. Would recommend with supervision of your dog. No collars on when grate is not covered. Good tough cage. Neighbor bought same fir her bull dog puppy same age as my dobie. She likes it also. If wasn’t for grate at bottom would be a 5FLORIDAMOMOF8

*The price was very reasonable and the size/construction was surprisingly sturdy. *As an added bonus, our cage has a side door that wasn't advertised. We almost didn't purchase this one since it appeared to only have the one door at the end. But our cage has a second door that swings out from the side panel. *We have always taken small (4" size) zip ties and secured the corners of our cages to provide added strength – in case dogs paw at the cage. I would still recommend zip ties although the cage seems to snap in place tightly. Of course, if you frequently fold down the cage, replacing zip ties can become cumbersome. *The plastic pan on the bottom is thinner than our last cage, but our dogs have not chewed or scratched at them previously, so this won't be a problem for us. *The carrying handle appears strong enough to lift the empty cage and will be useful. *Upper and lower slide latches are provided on each door. All latches have a rod bent at the end to help secure the latch. In the past, our dogs learned to shake the door until the latch slid over but this new design prevents the latch from sliding open.KYMom

I bought one of these and liked it so much that I just purchased another one. Both are the 42 inch size.I have 2 older 42 inch similar type kennels but they are a different brand and I paid a lot more for them. I think that the BestPet brand wire pet cage/crate/kennels are just as good as the more expensive ones that I have. In fact I was able to purchase two of the BestPet kennels for what I paid for one of the older kennels I have. I like the latches on the Best Pet kennels. They have a little "crook" on the end that prevents the latch from sliding open accidently. But it is easy for a human to open and close. I am an older woman and the kennels are easy for me to move around to the areas I desire to put them. They are sturdy, but easy to handle,and have the plastic slide out tray at the bottom for easy cleaning, I was unsure about this Brand at first because the price was so GOOD that I figured something had to be flawed with this kennel but I was very wrong. I do think it is a good idea to buy a couple of extra plastic trays or if you are crafty cut a piece of heavy duty plastic to have on hand when you change out a tray for cleaning. Plastic is just plastic so a heavy dog could cause damage to the tray .But the trays I got with my kennels are not flimsy at all. The kennel comes with a plastic handle that can be attached at the top. I live in a rural and at night the coyotes and other undesirable critters come out and I have had problems with Tom cats just mauling my young cats. So now I can put my kittens or young cats and puppies in kennels at night and I don't have to worry and fret about what is happening in the dark to them. Also, this will save me money in Vet bills. The cost of just one of the large kennels is about the cost of an office visit to the vet so I am very pleased to wake up each day and know that all of my "babies" are safe and happy. Included with the kennel is a wire divider that can be put in the kennel so you can keep pets separated from each other. I had one particular cat that had an injury that seemed to outsmart me and escape from any cage I tried to keep her in. She can't get out of this Best Pet kennel. I will buy a couple more of the 42 inch size kennels to have on hand because the price and quality is so great and I plan to buy a couple of the smaller wire ones to transport cats and pups to the vet in. I find the plastic cat carriers to be attractive but not so practical when you have a heavy cat or a "wild" cat or unhappy dog that needs an injection from the vet before it can be removed from the carrier to be tended to. This is a nice crate and since the last time I purchased one I have noticed improvements by adding latching connectors instead of those old thumb screws and this particular one has the wheels which I find very helpful when moving it around the house.hwana63

I loved the idea of this crate when I saw its description and I wasn't disappointed. When you get a small pet carrier, you generally have to figure out where to store it. They usually take up about a 1' x 1' x 1.5' space somewhere. This crate collapses to about a 1' x 1' x 5" size. It's really easy to "pop" it up and collapse it (really – I didn't even look at the instructions. It was pretty self-explanatory). There are two large, plastic clips at the front and at the back of the carrier. You just easily pinch those together (they don't require a lot of effort and are easy on the fingers), the sides lift to reveal the top of the carrier with its handle. You lift the handle and when it's all "up", you just push the ends to securely snap them to the "body" of the carrier and you're done. The gate has a knob rather than thick wires you have to pinch together. This is a sturdy crate. I have a 9-pound cat that it handles just fine. She can stand up in it with a little room to reposition herself. It's definitely not a crate I'd want to keep a dog of the same size in all day (I think they need a little more room to move around) but it's super for vet visits or car trips.ruthjs2k

I wish this was around a bit back because it's a perfect invention for compatibility when you need it. I like how you can just lift it up and it practically comes together. I couldn't give it five stars because I think there needs to be a little more work on the catch areas that kinda snap it together (so to speak). Other than that, I think this is a genius idea.Artistsm
