Reviews:
This kennel is a must have especially if you have an energetic puppy like I do. We use it when she gets overstimulated from playing. It’s a nice safe retreat for her. We also use it when she’s a little too enthusiastic with my senior dachshund. It gives him a little break. She loves going into her kennel for a rest.dina.h
We have a powerfully built 40 pound mutt who can muscle her way out of her old crate by popping the single latched door open. We had to add an extra clip to the door to keep her in the crate, which is a pain getting the clip on and off to let her in and out. She can’t gorse the door on this crate open due to the double latches AND the extra “hook” on the tip that holds the latches in place. My little bulldozer can’t open this crate by force and go counter surfing, much to her dismay.TKettle

Reviews:
Well, we bought the beige style of this one and it was great. Cats love it. Decided to get the white one.. Terrible craftmanship. The top part leans and will not get any tighter..Posts are not as thick as the beige one. The beige came with a hanging mouse and rope, the white one does not. I honestly don't even think they are the same manufacture..Youngmawmaw
Aesthetically pleasing as it blends with other furniture. Easy assembly, and the size is great for a mid to small dog or other animals that fit the size group. Will accomodate bed or blanket inside with mid-height walls which cuts down distractions, noise, and hair from drifting beyond crate. Well worth the cost while giving canines the comfort of home.

Reviews:
I had to make a choice about purchasing a new crate for my 6 month SIBERIAN HUSKY. After reviewing all the pro and cons of the construction, safety and of course my dogs well being, I went online to a company that Had a excellent selection of products. I knew what I wanted in relationship to size and the features. Precision Pro Value afforded me with all the options for my dog,BAXTER. I was not trying to purchase a crate based on cost, but on the overall quality and design. I did choose the largest model due to the fact Precision Crates provide a well configured insert to decrees the length. As usual, Hayneedle.com ,provided free shipping and FED EX delivered the item as per the instruction I left them. The instruction and information provided was exceptional, and within 15 minutes Baxter's old crate was Donated to an Animal Shelter and after a little time he was enjoying his new gift. I must state that even though the crate was in perfect condition,I took the time to clean the bottle pan and all areas before he was allowed to explore his new gift. I would highly recommend PRECISION'S Products based on the overall dedication to detail.Marc L
We have a 6 month old cane corso/pit bull mix, he was 55 lbs and he loves his cage! He's got plenty room right now but so far this cage has paid for itself! He hasn't always loved it. He's bent multiple spots attempting to bust through to get out (sometimes he has while we were gone). Although now after his neuter with his cone and about a month before also going in and out easily. Super spacious!mama
Very nice and easy to assemble. Unlike most of the other crates we have used, could only find one sharp edge which, of course, I cut myself on. But I love the how the gates lift up and slide down for extra security on the latch mechanism. Also, the tray is perfect and does not slide around once the crate is assembled properly. Our puppies love it! By the way, have two Frenchton puppies. Their combined weight is about 18 pounds. They travel very well together in this crate. We got the 24 inch.E.

Reviews:
If you are needing to purchase a new dog crate, this is the brand and model I highly recommend. Midwest had several levels of crates but I have found that you cannot go wrong purchasing the Lifestage's model. They are solidly made and last forever. I always purchase the double door crates. They have cheaper models & more expensive ones too. I would not recommend their icrate as they are cheaper but they are also not had solidly made as the Lifestage's. Spend the extra $10-$15 and purchase the Life Stages model. It is well worth the money. I have had great success purchasing there crates at Petco.com. I always receive my items within a couple of days. It is also nice when you have a Petco store nearby where you live. If you have any issues with the merchandise you received, they have always been very accommodating and made sure they did whatever was necessary to correct the problem, return the merchandise at a full refund and/or replaced the item. I have been very happy with Petco and the merchandise I have purchased!!!Shari L
I just received this crate a couple of days ago for my Saint Bernard mix pup. The size is perfect and he has tons of room to grow in it. The doors latch nicely and the crate is very sturdy. We received this very fast! The only downfall I had with this purchase was that when we removed it from the box and set it up, there was a decent sized crack (all the way through) on the tray. I won't be replacing the tray as I've spent enough on this crate. And fortunately for me, my 5 month old pup doesn't have accidents in his crate, but I'm sure if others received this, they would not be happy.tsjackie
I had been looking at the end table style crates thinking that would look nicer and less bulky then the 4' x 4' X-pen I have in my living room. But, comfort is the main criteria and I wanted my Whippets to feel they could stand and dig through a deep pile of bedding, so I went with this crate. I like to rearrange the furniture so I bought the double door style to keep my options open. For my two Whippets I bought the 42" x 28" size which has been more then enough room for them to lay side by side or end to end. It arrives flat, but you just fold out the sides and it is ready to go. It came with a handle so it could be 'portable', but at this size it is heavy and I don't plan to take it anywhere, so I didn't attach that. I left the X-Pen up for them while they made the transition, but they hopped into the new crate the minute I put it up and haven't been back in the X-Pen (even though it still has more bedding in it). The black wire instantly looked better then the metal of the X-Pen and I'm staining a piece of wood I put trim molding around for the top (I had it cut to size at Home Depot) so I'll have an end table style look, but the height and comfort the pups want for their 'cave.' Very happy and buying a second one to have at the office for the days they come to work with me. Both crates and the wood top are costing less then the end table style crate, so all three of us are happy!psh1

The crate had obviously been used and returned. The metal was rusted in places and the plastic bottom tray was dirty. When I decided to return it, It was a challenge to get it back in the box. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I was quite disappointed in the whole experience. Apparently the merchandise was supposed to be checked if the box was damaged and that wasn’t done in this case.Janice
I've owned dogs for the last 40 years. I've used MidWest wire crates for my last 4 dogs. This iCrate didn't disappoint. It's sturdy and and easy to put up and take down. I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09
We bought this in April 2022 for our Rhodesian Ridgeback mix puppy. He was weeks old when we rescued him. He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! I wish I could share photos of how bent up this crate is and the cracked floor liner. IWifeMomLove

Reviews:
Some dogs just don't quite fit into the size charts in the way other dogs do. Our dog Angel, a mountain cur, is one of those dogs. Weight wise, Angel is comfortably in the medium category but she's tall and lanky so she always had to hunch over in her medium crate. This larger crate is a perfect height for the needed room. While the width and depth is nearly enough to also add our smaller dog as well, it works great for Angel.Terri M.
We bought this product mostly because of the vertical lift feature of the door hinge and the two-door access options which is great for all sorts of configurations (against different walls, corners etc). We like the size and customizable interior of the XL crate for our growing puppy (husky/shepard mix). This is definitely an at home crate vs. care crate. The only issue we have is that compared to our first crate (same company, large single door, 2 locks) is that this crate is very rattly. We crate our dog during sleeping hours and every time he kicks in his sleep or adjusts, it makes a clangy metallic sound that wasn't expected. Would not recommend for the bedroom but would recommend overall.SanFrannylou

I almost did not purchase this crate due to the multiple bad reviews. Glqd I purchased it qnyway. Other than the people who recieved damaged or warped crates, I'm not sure why there are so many reviews claiming it is difficult to assemble. I'm 4'11", 90 lbs, had 3 kids under 5 in the same room, and I assembled it alone without any real difficulties. The aforementioned children are in one of the review photos to show the enormity of the crate. The 9 month old Great Dane is in the other photo. Luckily for me, besides a slightly warped top piece, none of my pieces were bent, warped, or broken. Took about 30-40 minutes to assemble. Certainly would have been faster if I'd had someone helping, like the manual recommends.Brooke

Easy to transport as it lays flat and easy to set up. My dog will likely grow to be a 50 lbs border collie but right now is about 14 lbs. I have set up the partition to give him 2/3 of the space and it is perfect for him. The double latch system provides security and ease of use. We also bought the mattress pad for this kennel and it fits under the partition if you are making the space smaller ( no need to bunch up on the usable side)Ron P

Truly a nice furniture kennel. Bought it without reviews, so took a chance. One of the containers was destroyed in shipment, but it’s packed with styrofoam all around so no damage! The locking mechanism seems sturdy. The bars seem sturdy. The boards are strong. The instructions are pictures, but easy to follow along with. My dogs are well behaved in kennel, so not sure how it will stand up with one who’s not. Overall, I’d recommend it!MML
Easy to install. Was impressed by material. Certainly built tough for long lasting.L

terrible! did not last 16 hrs literally . my puppy was able to chew thru it in no time at all . maybe it's my fault I should have just went with metal and not something nicer looking . I was under the impression this wasn't just wood and would sustain some scratching nibbling but as soon as I put it together I knew it was a mistake (screwing some of sides in by hand and being able to see it just is cheap) for it being this expensive I would expect better quality!Brian
There are a few things you need to know about this product before purchasing… 1. It says it can fit a 18-50lb dog in here, but I disagree. It’s a little smaller than I was expecting, so I say a 30lb MAX could fit in here depending on the dog. 2. There is NO bottom piece, ONLY a plastic tray. I was expecting a bottom piece under the plastic tray, but I understand that it is for easy cleanup reasons. Overall, I gave this a 3 out of 5 stars because I’m not as happy with it as I could’ve been. Hopefully it holds up and lasts, we’ll see.Joanne

The medium size I got was a lot bigger than I thought which is a wonderful surprise. I’ve split it into 2 and the double doors make it possible. I am currently training my little pup to use the other side as a bathroom as he weathers his first Chicago winter. Love it! And the great thing is the large window on the side is able to be tucked in the top to keep one side always open. The other smaller door doesn’t tuck on the top but that doesn’t bother me because that door is against the wall and not an issue at all. Quality seems great. Have had it for a few weeks and I love it. And so does my lil 10lb pup in his medium crate (but it’s large for him!). He goes in and out a lot more than his old one and I attribute part of it to the double doors! Works like a 2-room apartment for himJennBearDem
I love Petco. So sorry I can’t give this kennel a 5 star rating. Love the style. Purchased “large” size for 40 pound female lab/hound mix, 17 months young; fit perfectly (even 75 pound male “cousin” slept curled up a couple of times, for novelty). She’s not perfectly kennel/crate trained. Visiting our daughter & didn’t want dog to run around unsupervised. 1st time used kennel successfully for a few hours. 2nd time unfortunately used a lot longer. She was observed on camera chewing/pulling on rear end and pushing way out of bottom (latched) small front door. She got minor abrasions on cheek and paw; was a TIGHT SQUEEZE out. MOST UNFORTUNATE! Ughhhh; other purchasers had reported wire weaknesses, but I truly wanted to believe that my dog wouldn’t be strong enough. I will talk to customer service now. We know now what’s possible… Recommend with reservation; depends on dog, really.Tuggisfun
We have a growing 7 month-old newfypoo so needed to upgrade our crate to a larger size. I chose this crate for 2 specific reasons: #1, the height and #2, the top-folding door on the side of the crate. My newfypoo needed the additional height so he isn't hunched over if he's sitting up. The height on this size has given him an inch or two of extra clearance and should still work when he's done growing. For the 2nd point, I LOVE the top-folding side door. Because of where we keep the crate, we only use the side door and it has been awesome not having to walk around a door that opens to the side and is in the way of the main flow of traffic. Even though the crate is noticeably bigger than our old one, it feels like it takes up the same amount of space because of that door. I can't speak highly enough of it. For more practical items, the crate is very sturdy and well made. There were no problems with shipping and other than needing a little muscle, the crate went together very easily. My newfypoo isn't one that will try to escape from a crate, so I can't speak to that, but I have been very impressed with the quality of this crate and how easy it was to get my big-little puppy used to it. I know this crate will last us for years to come.Trina B

Very easy to setup. Very sturdy. Excellent buy!! Would highly recommend.Darryld
I purchased two of these "KennelMaster 24" Folding Black Wire 2 Door Dog Crate" and have had them for several months. What a great buy! Super easy to set up: they come preassembled and all folded up. They unfold and set up in a minute. I have one for each of my dogs: a Maltese/Bichon mix and a Chihuahua mix (who looks just like a small German Shepherd). We use their crates for the night time and when we leave the house. These crates are made of very nice thick metal. Incredibly sturdy. The latches are well made and smart-doggy proof. I like that the bottom is solid and can be easily removed and sanitized. My dogs have scratched and nibbled on the bars daily and the crates have held up like new. There are two doors on each crate: one door on a long side and one door on a short side. There's also a handle on top which makes it really easy to move around when I am relocating it, transporting the dogs, or just moving the crates to vacuum and clean underneath. My crates also came with some additional wire dividers that I don't use. I believe they are for making the crate smaller when you have a puppy and removing it as your dog grows. Crates can be really expensive so I was glad to find these at such a bargain price, especially because they are so well made. I know these crates will last many, many years. I have no negative things to say about these dog crates. I would highly recommend them! Please note: I do not put both dogs in the same crate, though they do both fit. The photo shows both in one crate because they both wanted to be in the photo 🙂vrmvrm

Quality product at an awesome price. This crate is heavy duty enough for my 2 year old, 160lb Great Dane. She is able to stretch out and stand up. When she does her pawing at the bedding at bed time it doesn't shake or rattle. Its easy to open and close. The only con would be the styrofoam used in the packing…it shreds up during the shipping…it flies everywhere!courage216

Reviews:
I just bought this kennel for my dog, it lasted 3 months. When it arrived I noticed right away that the quality was not as sturdy as our other kennels. The wires/ bars are thinner than what I would say is the norm. My other 2 are definitely thicker. This is already falling apart. 2 small bars are broken off and the bottom bar under the door detached from the frame leaving this basically useless and not safe for my dog anymore. There is no option for a replacement or discount to replace. Save your money and get a different brand.Sjm81
Cage came in a beat up box taped together, which could have been shipping company, but that's doubtful, read on. When we unpacked it appeared the cage had been used. The metal tray was bent on all 4 corners, we had to duct tape corners so it wouldn't cut our dog. The end side with door was so bent we had to get pliers and try to unbend just to get door to latch. It is still not flush. One of the bars on same door side was not even attached on one side, also had to duct tape that so it wouldn't poke into my dog. All the latches and where cage attaches together the metal was rubbed down to bare metal. I was in a jam and needed to use this so I have not contacted company but will NEVER buy from them again.Susan
I am a professional dog trainer who deals mainly with aggression problems in large breeds. Would I put a clients dog in this kennel…never…..it is not made for that purpose. It is rather flimsy, and noisy. However, it was just what I needed for my gigantic German Shepherd dog, as it provided the space he needed, and I knew he would never try to escape, fall over on it, collapsing the sides, or walk through the walls. Buy it only for crate trained animals, and dogs who will not test boundaries. It is not suitable for pups who are active. If you want a holding cell for a dog who just wants to lay around, and have a safe denning experience, this could be your crate.havahnjoel

This is a nice looking crate and it is substantial. It is also easy to move around. The main problem with it is that the clips to open and close the doors are annoyingly difficult. Also the side garage style door is difficult to operate as well. Sometimes I just leave the top open and take my little schnauzer out the top – it's easier.Joyce
About six months after giving away our lrg pet taxi, stored for years, our beloved dog had two disks rupture immediately paralyzing him. Putting him down wasn't an option(!) so we took him to Manhattan for emergency surgery. After a week at the hospital we were allowed to bring him home with strict instructions that he MUST be crated for 6 weeks to recover and let the spineal injury heal. I began looking for a replacement crate and cost was certainly a factor after the almost prohibitive cost of the surgery. The Pet Gear Crate became the one and only choice upon seeing the 'other door'. Given our dogs inability to walk or step in or out of the cage for the first week, the 'garage door' was absolutely awesome. Because he cried constantly if we left the room, we rolled it into the bedroom each night to sleep with us. The standard side door still allowed me to let him out for bathrrom breaks quickly and easily. He still has three weeks of crate time at this point, but the garage door is the most awesome invention ever! After a full recovery I plan to leave it open all the time and hope to encourage him to continue to use the crate as his bed. We bought two Petmate Silky Plush Dog Beds to put in the bottom that fit EXACTLY that give him plenty of comfort and since he is confined for 24/7, to keep him from getting bed sores or hot spots. The mat that comes with the crate is only two material pieces thick. For us and our pupose this crate is a great product/purchase. (Unfortunatley, for me) they lowered the price only two weeks after buying it, so it is more inline with where it should be priced given the overall quality and materials made with. I would not recommend this product if your dog is not crate trained or an escape artist. It is not a super sturdy crate and definatley not intended for traveling, but strictly home use. However, the second reason we purchased this crate is because it folds up so-to-speak and will store much more easily and in less space than a traditional crate. Third reason, it has wheels. When empty it helps moving it from room to room if necessary.HersheyDog
Well this item is not easy to assemble, I hope that once I get it together it feels stronger than it looks. I purchased this for two small chihuahuas when going to the vet or the groomer. This item do not come with good instructions, if I can not get it together in the next day or so I will return it.field mouse

Reviews:
Putting this together – I would say that the plastic is a good construction, the clasps and screws are great, and the metal bars for the windows look to be a decent quality. They ship you extra clips and screws in case you have a problem. I personally don't like the wheels (on any crate), so I'll leave those off and the pet bowl might be okay if I was sending the dog via airplane. The Large size isn't very large in my opinion. A dog should be able to stand up, turn around and lay down. I think this crate is more like a 50 pound max than 75. My 10 week old Golden Female Retriever will likely outgrow this kennel in 6 months and be in that weight range. In a way I'd like to exchange it for a bigger one.RichH
Very nice kennel. Easy to put together. Good ventilation well build. Holds an 85lb HuskyJK1961

Reviews:
The product is sturdy but the screen door is not strong enough to stop a dog from scratching a hole in it. The zippers are weaker and not large enough. The frame is strong and easy to put together. I would add a divider to support a puppy through his stages of life and maybe a flap that covers the the bottom half of the door screen as an option if your pup is a scratcher. Great for portability and quick and easy to setup. All in all I like the product but would like to see a few upgrades.John
We looked thru many foldable traveling dog crates. So far, very happy with it. Several things I specifically looked for. Good quality zipper that clipped at the top when zipped. Mesh sides above clawing access (besides the front access). Ease of setting up & light weight. PetNation had it all. We have two 10# Havanese. Plenty of room to add blankets. Water & food bowls. Yes. I would recommend this to friends.suz anne
I am basing this review on inspection of the Crate, I have not actually used it yet. I bought it for a future trip. The crate appears to be well made. It was easy to set up and to take back down. This will be great for a crate trained dog. I would definitely not purchase or use this for a dog that is not crate trained. They would definitely be able to escape and ruin this with ease. I have an 81lb dog that is able to lay down in this crate comfortably.Melanie

There is a warning on this product to only start the screws with a power screwdriver. My advice is to use a hand screwdriver ONLY. The holes are drilled too large for the size screws that are used where even tightening by hand will strip the hole. Also, the many of the holes where the screws are hidden by plastic plugs are drilled too large where I had to shim the holes to get the plugs to stay in. Sad, because the design is attractive and the size is perfect for our dog. So long as it stays in one place, it shouldn't loosen up. However if I do see it loosening, I will simply disassemble it, apply wood glue to the joints and screw it back together with clamps until the glue dries. The manufacturer should be held accountable by LTDC for correcting these issues!BobD8487
I guess I should have figured it was poor quality with the price. As other sites were more but they seemed bigger so tried but not a good choice. The holes didn’t all line up. A couple started to split. Didn’t use power drill like recommended probably would have destroyed it. Back panels are a very thin and if pushed on by dog will break or pop out. Latch doesn’t stay closed so dog could figure out how to slide it open. And if using in house as end table anything you put on it will scratch it or spot it. Looks cheap. The pressed board pieces have a dull & shiny side which all don’t match. Going to have to repaint it with a paint that will hold up and maybe a piece of real wood or veneer on top to make it look presentable. Not happy and was told if you had to return it I would have to pay shipping! No more ordering on line or from this company.Lyn10
Purchased the dog crate because it seemed functional but attractive. The crate actually is finished nicely. But as we were putting it together we realized one of the back panel was not included. At that point we had the crate almost completed. I called Lakeside to inform them. They had me to take apart the crate, box it and send it back to them. They told me they would then send a replacement crate after they received the defective crate. I only needed one back panel. They informed me that they could not send just a part. Seems they made me jump through hoops to resolve this situation. I won't buy anything else from Lakeside that has parts or needs to be assembled.Minnie2069
