Great mat but it showed and I had to open it and fully allow it to rise before we noticed it was not the correct size. I had measured and it seems this one is not the correct size. Weird as I order all the time. The box did not have the size or identification on it for me to confirm prior to opening. We kept it as it is a lovely mat but it is one size too small for our pup's crate.
This seems to be a good dog bed. Be prepared…. it takes 3 to 4 days for it to “fluff up”. It comes rolled up and it was really flat considering the specifications said it was 4” high! Letting it set to fluff it took about 3 days for it to become 4” high. The cover is a bit loose but does not bother my girl, she really likes her new bed. We purchased 2 xl beds. They came wrapped in plastic and vacuum sealed. The directions said they should fully expand in 24 to 72 hours. We are on day 5, and one of the beds is almost fully expanded, but the 2nd bed is still very squished in the center and corners. We are following the directions and shaking them several times a day. Im beginning to think the 2nd bed may have to be returned/replaced. I will give it a couple more days, but it dosent look like it has made any progress in the last couple days.Brenda101

Ordered online through tractor and supply. Delivered on time to the store. Picked it up on 10/1 a Friday. I was very excited to finally have a dog bed that based on reviews was spoken of as a pretty well lasting product. Introduced it to our dog Skip who is an 18 month jack russell wired hair terrier mix. Well over the weekend he did just fine with it. On and off of it and no biting or tearing at it. The first night of sleeping on this bed was the best night for me…why…because He didn't wake me up until 9am instead of 7:30 am to go out to potty. The "cooling" side of the mattress is a lie. I know how cooling mattresses looks like and yours just have the color but not a cooling layer. My dog is very hot in his new bed during hot days and sleeps on the floor. Therefore, I feel cheated for having paid almost $50 for this bed. Also, the cover material is synthetic which naturally created heat and on top of a synthetic sponge creates a really too hot environment for my dog. The material is slippery so my elderly dog can hardly get up. The only reason I gave two stars is that the shape and height are good. Still, sizes you provide are inadequate and not a reflection of dog needs which is strange when Furheaven is in this business. My Yorki is a normal size. Yet, when I bought small which you recommend according to the size and weight chart as well as the sleeping area measurements you provided,he can fit well provided he is all the time in something like a fetus position and he doesn't move much. He cannot stretch or lie down in such a way so as to have at least an inch of space between himself and the sides of the bed. Dogs sometimes sleep in a stretched position and do need some extra space. Dogs also move during the sleep, swirl around, wiggle. So I had to get him a medium size which is really too big for him and the space where we keep it in our apartment but I am happy he has some extra space. Humans don't sleep in beds which are exactly their size. Standard beds even if a twin size have some extra space on all four sides because nobody stays in one position during the night. We absolutely LOVE this bed!!! It is extremely well made with separate zippered compartments for the bolster and bed padding. This makes it very easy to wash the cover and not the padding. I highly recommend the "Convoluted Orthopedic Foam" Mattress. As we live in California where the weather is warmer, the "Quilted" Cover material has been perfect all year round. This is actually our second bed that we bought. The first bed we bought for our an older dog who was starting to get arthritis and have back issues. We felt this bed greatly reduced his symptoms and made his last years much more comfortable. At a certain point we ordered a replacement cover for the first bed. It was still in such great condition when he passed that we could not get rid of it. Our new puppy found the bed and claimed it as her own. I bought this medium sized bed for an adult male Golden Retriever, and it's a perfect fit. This was a replacement for a larger sized Beasley's Couch (no longer available). He wouldn't sleep in it with the removable cushion, so I took that out. The bolsters seem a bit firm, but they're zippered so you can remove some of the stuffing to customize the firmness–that's a nice touch. The orthopedic foam base is adequate, but I'll eventually replace it with 3-inch memory foam to make it super cushy. Assembling the bed was challenging for a senior citizen with bad shoulders, but I finally got it together. (It's a very snug fit.) I keep it covered with a fleece throw so I can wash that often without having to disassemble and reassemble the bed again. This bed seems very well made with nice features. This mattress performed well at first, but by year 3 I began experiencing back pain. The mattress begins to sag where your heaviest body weight is and you begin sleeping in a sagging depression. I contacted Serta (03022079) about warranty coverage and they will keeping pushing it back to the retailer, and Serta will not honor their warranty. They rely on employees from the retailer who come over to "inspect" the mattress, however they don't place any weight on the mattress to test the problem of sagging. They'll tell you the mattress is "conforming to your body", however what I need is a mattress that retains it's original structural integrity and supports my back. I would not recommend this mattress, or Serta. I paid over $2200.00 for a mattress that ended up causing pain.CharlesHR

The first thing you'll notice is the pillowtop layer, which sinks under your body pressure, but still has the support from the other layers. This will leave you slightly hugged on the sides of your body, but not in a suffocating way. Its very soothing. The mattress has still stayed cool the entire time, and I tend to run a little hot while sleeping. As for support, I mostly sleep on my side and haven't noticed any pains or discomfort. It was a little bit harder to roll around compared to my previous flatter mattress, but the adjustment only took a day or two. The design of this bed make it look voluminous but still fits my mattress sheets. The padding on the top with the puffy diamonds does shine though a normal sheet, so you might notice the lumps when a fitted sheet is on it. No big deal to me, but it is noticable. As for support, the mattress can handle 2 bodyweights easily, and doesn't seem to sink in anywhere. We even have a bed frame and moves up and down, and this mattress can support that type of bending. So far, I'm very very pleased with this mattress that has set a high bar on what a comfortable and luxurious mattress should be. Because mattress comfort varies so much from person to person, I won't talk about whether or not the mattress is comfortable. Like all mattresses, some people will love it while others will find it uncomfortable. So focusing on the facts, the mattress is a high end mattress in the icomfort series. This particular model is for people who like a supportive mattress that feels quite firm. I think it works well for back or side sleepers giving supportive pressure relief. If you are looking for a soft cloud like mattress, this probably isn't the model for you. One cool feature of this mattress is the cooling technology. Many people are "hot" sleepers and memory foam can tend to be on the hot side. This particular memory foam however, is made to absorb heat from your body, so you don't sweat while you're sleeping. It's quite a unique design I love! I also love the fact that the support goes all the way to the edge of the mattress, so you don't sink down if you sit or lay on the edge of the bed. Although the mattress doesn't come with any non-toxic certifications, I didn't notice much off-gassing. However, I still recommend airing it out for a few days before bringing it inside if possible. Orvis was known for their quality. Our previous memory foam platform bed was made with much higher standards and quality. After 10 years we still use it – 3 Great Danes later. Purchased a new one in 2022 for our vacation home. The older one fit snug in the cover. I can stand on it and not hit the floor. The new version does not fit snug. The foam isn’t the size of the cover length, width, or thickness. After two restless nights I stood on the bed. I sink directly to the floor. There’s no support. The old bed you can not bend. The new bed, pick it up and it flops. As an avid pup lover, I strongly suggest you do not purchase this bed. I use this for two medium size dogs in my home office. The dogs really like the bed. What disappoints me is that Orvis beds in the past have had somewhat better covers and dual side covers. This one has a top and a bottom side so I can't really flip it over like I did for the thicker, older style platform beds which were flippable. The bottom cover material is thinner. My frail, 17 year old border collie was having trouble flopping down on his previously perfectly sized bed, often ending up half on and off. I fussed and fussed, carefully reading all the dog bed descriptions and finally settled on the “large” size of this bed. It totally did the trick and the lower height also helped my senior boy. But I discovered the real value of this bed when my best beloved began having seizures and would lose bladder control. The cover readily absorbs the urine and is really easy to remove and launder. And the inner liner truly is moisture resistant and is also easy to remove and launder. This bed made our last months together so much easier, enabling me to focus on my dog’s needs and not on dealing with “accidents”. Despite all the laundering, the bed still looks good as new and the new dog likes it just fine. He doesn’t know that he’s getting a pet cat soon but that bed is plenty big for both of them! I had a king size memory foam mattress before but wanted to downsize to a queen. The iComfort CF2000 Quilted Hybrid Plush is a very comfortable memory foam mattress. I selected it because it said it was good for side sleepers. My previous mattress was firm and recently my arms have been going numb so I would keep switching sides all night. I was concerned that a plush mattress would be too soft and I would sink in, but this is comfortable and supportive at the same time. I haven't had any problems sleeping on my side. I am a hot sleeper as well and having cooling technology is important to me. I would say this works as well as my old mattress, but I do still get hot. This is the best mattress I have ever owned. I’ve always gotten hand me downs and uncomfortable beds. I’ve have back problems since having my kids and getting the epidurals and have had trouble sleeping, also waking up with extreme back pain everyday. These beds are great quality. I have 2 springer spaniels that used to eat there beds. They also like to go out swimming in the ponds and come in soaking wet. Their current beds are 2 years old and when they get dirty I hose them off and they look great. No chew holes, but after 2 years i thought they needed some backups when they come in all sloppy. I don’t care what the salesman tells you, this mattress has not lived up to its promise, and it starts sinking in the first 6 months. Our backs and necks hurt. We have rotated it, tried different settings on the adjustable base, tried different pillows. The integrity becomes compromised and sinks in where you lay. It’s no longer supportive, but it bounces back when no pressure is applied, so they won’t cover it under warranty. It absolutely does not keep you in proper sleeping position when you lay on it. Worst purchase ever, and we’re still paying on it. Buyer beware before you make this much of an investment.TXMama
I work long hours on my feet all week, and getting up in the morning always seemed like a struggle – tossing and turning all night to get comfortable, and then feeling like I had to crawl out of bed because my back was so stiff. I was under the impression that this was a mid firm mattress but I found it to be quite firm. I previously was sleeping on a firm mattress and the noticeable difference with the Serta is the memory foam has offered a little more comfort and support. The mattress itself is constucted well & the sheets fit well without any shifting or movement. I personally haven't noticed much of a cooling effect. Mattress comfort varies so much from one person to the next. For us, I think we are going to get a topper to soften the mattress up a bit. I believe it will be worth it as we do appreciate the quality of the mattress.peaches6
