The metal they are made from is not quite thick enough to keep the sides from bulging when full of dirt. I even reinforced mine because of what I read in the reviews, and they still bulged but maybe not as bad as they would have had I not done that. This is my first time ordering a galvanized garden bed as I previously built redwood ones. For the price of $110- it did not disappoint and may be the future for my garden needs. Unsure of how it withstand over the next year(s), but for now it serves its purpose. The downside the the bad directions; although not hard to figure out, just more of an annoyance that it is vague and parts weren’t labeled. An example would be: 6 steel sheets all just attached back to back so it all appeared to fit. Nope, found out one sheet was a different size thus needed to swap with the other one. Hence, has to take apart 48 nuts and bolts only to put them back together. Pay close attention to the sheets when ordering the 6×3.Amy C.
Bought this because it was one of the taller beds I could find and I live in an area with Bermuda grass. Instructions said assembly takes about 45 minutes but this is most definitely not the case; there are so many screws! Each bed by myself took about 3 hours. It also scratches very easily, if looks matter to you. The real issue for me though is the metal; the top and bottom edges are folded, ostensibly for safety, but the sides are not; I gashed my hands on every bed I was assembling (wasn't wearing gloves at all times because I needed the dexterity to fit all the screws and remove the plastic film).Ronald T.

Bought for a new puppy that was digging under our wood fence. To deter him, we placed the mat flat on the grass (spike side up), using the U-shaped pins it comes with to hold the mats in place by pinning into the ground (might need a hammer if you have hard dirt), and it worked! The spikes arent sharp enough to hurt him, but uncomfortable enough that he doesnt want to use his paws to dig. We ended up buying 2 more lengths to cover length of the fence. This was what I expected and wanted. It is a roll of plastic with spikes on it that you roll out and hold down with metal stakes pushed into the ground. It should prevent animals from walking and soiling in your garden beds. I wish it was a larger roll. You will need to buy several to cover most areas. I purchased only enough to go along next to the house where a cat had been peeing regularly. I was glad that it included the metal stakes. I also liked that it cut to size easily to fit the area. for those that have complained it doesn't work for cats probably either cut it too narrow (in which the nimble cats and just step over), or it was a smaller cat like a kitten who really can put it's paws between the spikes. I originally bought this to keep my one cat away from the bedroom sliding door window as he likes to paw on it to be let out at 5am for hours and hours. My 2 cats avoid this thing like the plague. BUT … the 12" was too narrow and they could easily just step over it. So the one cat who likes to paw could put his hind feet on one side of the strip and still lean over and paw the window. THEN … I bought a second strip to double it to 24" and he is so mad he can't get to the window he just whines like a little kid, haha. Remember these animals are nimble, if they can step around it they will. But that was my experience and this product is an excellent deterrent to get your pet to avoid an area.Debbie K.

I purchased a couple of New Age Garden Ecoflex Window Boxes to plant a couple of flowers outside my windows and I was initially disappointed with the design, but it appears that they will last a long time. I wasn't thrilled with the side clips because they felt very flimsy and came undone with little force, but after installing another side support clip it feels extremely sturdy. I am impressed with the amount of dirt this planter can hold without bending. I worried that the little drainage hole underneath the box wouldn't be sufficient enough during a heavy rain, but it does a great job of dispelling water at a slow but consistent rate, which keeps the planter light and the flowers nourished. I was also impressed with this planters resiliency to snow. Three to four inches of snow would collect on this box during the winter on countless occasions and it remained structurally sound. I just purchased this (including deer proofing and watering system), within the last month and I really love it. It's just enough space for a small garden without feeling overwhelming. Once the yard was leveled and cleared of grass, which took on and off work over two weekends, it only took a few hours of easy labor for me and my husband to put the garden together. Typically, things like this are such a pain because you have to make a list, go to a store where you'll spend quite a while gathering all the material. Then, you have to spend a significant amount of time cutting the wood to size and attaching the fencing. All that before you can even begin! To me, it was worth it to spend a little extra money to have all the materials shipped to me, ready to go. I remarked several times to my husband, who is always building something, that this was the only project he'd gotten through without cussing up a storm! Also, the shipping was super fast, which I wasn't even concerned about, but was nice. I placed my order on a Saturday and had the garden by the next Friday and the watering system a few days after that. I really can't say enough good things about the product or Eartheasy!

As other reviewers have mentioned it is CRITICAL that the ground is completely level before assembling the kit. This is not an exciting task to perfectly level the ground, but it makes the assembling of the kit relatively easy with a helper. . Remove the grass if it is in a area with grass. I found the best way to level is to take a 1" x 4" x 8' board and put a level on top of it Get the ground to be about 90% level. Once this is done cover with 2-3 inches of sand. I recently had my Deer Proof, Cedar Raised Garden Bed assembled. The assembly went fairly quickly however establishing the foundation was time consuming due to sloping grounds. I'm very happy with the set up and my plants are thriving! This is no small project from unpacking, weatherproofing with a cedar stain, preparing a level foundation, purchasing bags and bags of topsoil and potting mix, and hooking up an irrigation system inside the beds(optional). I have very sensitive eyes & theyre usually pinkish. Very few brands of eye drops improve them. I mainly use the Walmarts Equate brand for eye allergy which works the best for me. Would not recommend. Assembly took over two hours and what was a fun surprise for our dog turned out to be a very frustrating evening for all involved. Bottom line, the screws do not fit properly and many tools and patience were required to finally get this together. I would have sent this back asap if the box was not so large and if I did not need the bed asap.Amy

I've assembled many items of furniture and such in the past. This was one of the worst experiences I've had, though. The screw holes are not drawn onto the pictographs, there is only a sentence or two in the descriptions for each section, and it's difficult to discern which way pieces fit (as there are several ways they can go together). Also, there are fourteen boards that need to be screwed in on both sides. This part could have been done during manufacturing without taking much more room in the shipping box. I highly recommend using an electric drill unless you have extraordinary hand strength. As cedar doesn't last for too long, I stained the wood. All of this made the project take days to put together. I added stars because once it’s together it’s beautiful. As for durability, time will tell.Lynn M.
Instructions were horrible. Very vague and misleading. I had to redo several parts of the assembly because of poor instructions. Slats should have been pre-drilled. They split when using the provided Bed should have been deeper. Not enough soil allowed to promote good growth. Casters were very time consuming to install. Should be an easier way to do. Need some way to have built in structure to support the plants as they grow. I am planting tomatoes and need supports to tie the plant to. Lots of room for improvement in this design.Michael G.
We received our planter and assembled it as indicated in the instructions. We planted cherry tomatoes and moved the planter around to take advantage of the sun, We noticed the wood screws were coming loose and after rereading the instruction manual, saw that it's recommended that the screws periodically be tightened. When I tried tightening the screws, I saw that the screws were not loose but instead the wood had split and the screws could not be tightened. We called BCP and was told that the product has a 60-day warranty and there was nothing they could do for us. It's been about 90 days. And the split probably occurred well over a month ago but we hadn't noticed. This is a shoddy product and BCP seems satisfied that they have our money and won't do anything to rectify the situation. We will no longer do business with BCP and would not recommend them to anyone.Dave B.

I bought this for my bulldog as he likes to go into his cage at night, when it arrived it was packed very well, the quality of this bed is very good indeed, good strong cover that is waterproof and none slips on the bottom, the cover can be removed for washing, The filling is springy under the dog so he isn’t laying on the hard surface once flattened like cheaper beds seem to, I know because I laced on it first to test it out, it’s lovely, my boy goes into the cage day and night now, it’s a job to get him out, he has taken to laying on his back with his legs in the air.Diana

I love the raised beds and your recommendations to use soil for raised beds. When I first planted out my pumpkin and tomato plants I was impressed how the soil temperature stayed warm and encouraged the young plants to grow. Also, even with New England’s current drought I’ve only watered twice. Another added plus (which I hadn’t thought of initially) is that my plants are safe from my 100 pound Old English Sheepdog who usually loves to help me garden. Love these planters. I used 2 grey kits to make a 9×3.5 ft planter (pics below) and now have extra corners to make either a small square or get another set for 2 smaller planters. I bought one other petty decent quality brand from Amazon that was shorter in height, and the Vegos are much nicer. The metal is sturdy and definitely has a beautiful coating/paint. I like that the inside is painted a cream color. I put it together on a sunny, hot day (98 degrees) and the grey side was warm to touch, but the cream side was not, so I don't think overheating will be an issue as some others have wondered. The bumper on top is a very nice addition that other companies don't have and gives it a nice framing effect and protects skin from the edges. Very easy to put together, though takes some time, and love the modular options. I've bought 3 now and love them all. Probably will be getting more, thank you for a great product! The only issue was one of them arrived looking like it had been dropped on the corner. I tried to straighten them as much as I could and then put those bent edges on the bottom and on the back of the planter and they are hardly noticeable.Kerstin H.

I truly appreciate the modularity of the Vego system! After seeing my Vego garden beds, my daughter purchased five 4’x8’ kits for her mountain-side property. Unfortunately, the rocky sloped terrain couldn’t accommodate the length she had planned on, and she ended up with 10 extra panels. After doing the math, I combined two 4 in 1 beds and two extension kits with her leftover panels, and I now have two 4’x8’ Vego beds in addition to the six 2’x8’ Vego and the granddaughters’ two Kids First Garden Beds I began with. I have putting them together down to less than half an hour. Filling the with garden soil on the other hand takes much longer to wheel barrow it in. The plan is get several more tanks up and running over the summer for my fall garden. more interested in growing fruit trees so I would like to see a ten or twelve inch option in either 36 or 49 inch squares are circles to allow planting fruit trees in raised beds without getting them too high. Having been a backyard gardener (fruits, vegetables, flowers) for over 3 decades, I am delighted to have found in Vego Garden beds, the best-ever configuration for my plantings. "Came home to flower soup after being out of town for one night during big storms. All eight bins on both of my planters were filled to the brim with water. $100+ of annuals drowning. Took the power drill and largest drill bit I had and drilled four holes in the bottom of each bin in a last ditch effort. I originally filled the planters with a layer of rocks below the soil to promote drainage, which would only work if you live in a dry climate and are controlling all watering. If you live anywhere that it rains in spring, pass on these bins. Too bad because the stands are great. Just a major design flaw in the bins."Renee
