Collapsible Dog Ramp For Bed For Sale (2024 Update)

Just purchased this for my 70 pound elderly dog who has difficulty getting into and out of the car. I would have loved to keep this because of how well it was made, but it just didn't fit into the door opening of our new Equinox. Unfortunately the door didn't open wide enough. Also it wasn't long enough to use in the back lift gate. It was just too steep. Would be great in a regular car, but SUV's seem to be too far off the ground.Jodi

This is a nice sturdy ramp. I believe it may work well for vans but, with both of our cars (Chevy Malibu and Nissan Altima) the ramp does not have a level place to set it on. Our Golden Retriever tried it on both cars but it was to unsteady for her. I was very happy and a little surprised at how easy it was to return the product. I will be buying more products from Hayneedle because of their customer service.Dennis

It looks good, the arc is a bit high and the surface could have been more usable. Right now it reminds me of a sandpaper finish. Not real friendly for small dogs. Mine couldn't get a grip on it. I may carpet it for ease of use.Lori

This ramp really is light weight! It is easy to fold and lift into the back of my Honda CRV. Dog liked it with a little treat training and went right up it to her crate. It is shorter than some ramps, so would be steep if the rear of your car is very high. It is a bit awkward once it is folded UNLESS you use the safety lock on the side. This is a well built sturdy ramp and a good value. The only thing we didn't like is the surface is still slippery even with the yellow rubber grip strips. We made it MUCH better by covering the entire ramp surface with black ultra grip shelf liner material and we simply used spray adhesive and put 2 layers of the shelf liner on the ramp for a SUPER grippy, soft walking surface for our 13 year old lab. When we first bought the ramp she freaked because she slid up and down the ramp, now she confidently walks up and down it with ease. I highly recommend this upgrade to this ramp, you will be pleasedpref3479

My 110lb dog has a degenerative neurological condition that has been impacting his control of his back legs, in particular. We have to drive him to grassy spots for walks because he drags his back feet and this ramp has worked wonders in helping us get him in and out of the car. It's sturdy enough that he feels comfortable using it and super lightweight and easy to fold. Because he drags his legs the easy-grip surface was a bit harsh but we resolved that by just placing a towel over the ramp. Highly recommend this product, it'll save your back!Jess C

My Chihuahuas (one has IVDD -slipped disc) were scared of this ramp, the carpet was slippery and the dogs jumped off the side. The grade was too steep. I’m going to have to make my own longer and wider ramp with side rails.Sandi2

This product is strange. It supposes to help a pet climb onto and from a bed or a couch but it's so slippery that I wonder why did they do it this way. My personal belief is they did it to force you to buy the more expensive type with the green grass like surface.LifeSaver1

The quality of this ramp is poor. It is specified to hold dogs up to 200 hundred pounds, but my dog a Cane Corso weighing 105 pounds, fell off it because it is too wobbly. I do not recommend this ramp for large dogs.Sandy

This was a life saver. My pug is 15 and needs help getting up and down from couch. It has 3 positions so it is not steep for an older dog to use. It is ready to use right out of the box. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is not to long and can be used in the smallest spaces. The carpet like material on the ramp, also has slip resistant material on it (like what is on the bottom of socks). The dogs love it and it does not bother their feet. When going down the ramp, they can go as slow as needed and not slide down. I highly recommend this product. It will not work with really high beds or trucks unless you add to it. But it is perfect for anything else including cars (if needed) It is very light and easy to move around. It is very sturdy and does not move when dogs are using it. Even my younger dog loves it and she is scared of everything. The first day we got it we used treats to get them to use it. I only took a few minutes and they loved it. We had foam stairs before this but my older dog was still having issues using it. Because of the material of the stairs, when going down, it would force her to go fast and slide. This does not do that and allows them to go as slow as possible (I know I repeated this but it truly makes a difference for an older or injured dog/cat.)Nic

This item is a great product for it's price. Many others like it are easily twice as much. Has 3 adjustable height settings. Great for small dogs. If you have a puppy this is a key item. Just perfect. I have two older dogs who can now only enter and exit my station wagon via a ramp. I had a nice older ramp of thick plastic of some kind, but it was getting very heavy for me, an older person too, to deal with. The Solvit Telescoping ramp is fabulously lightweight. I actually look forward to the car outings rather than dreading it. Besides being light, the telescoping aspect is very easy to use. Some of the reviews said large dogs could not deal well with the sandpaper-like surface of the ramp (which adds makes the ramp so light to handle), but I find that towels or small rugs adhere very firmly to the sandpaper surface and give the dogs traction and confidence. The only problem I've experienced is the ramp blowing down in high wind. Now on windy days I park directly into the wind for loading and unloading of the dogs. Works fine. I highly recommend. This ramp is perfect for my 135 lb cane corso to get into my lifted truck. It’s stable, sits firmly on the floor of the cab and doesn’t sag or bounce when Rocco walks up and down it- if it did, he definitely would not use it! I toss it in the bed of the truck and it’s ready to go whenever we are. It is exactly what we were looking for as my dog is aging and starting to develop arthritis in his front legs. I had a small sturdy table made to use this ramp along side my bed, and used velcro to secure the ramp lip to the table. So far neither of my dogs prefer using it, although both will use it when 'treat bribed'. Mainly because they're used to me picking them up. However, my aged cat loves to use it. In time and with patience all of my babies will use it. Meanwhile it's lightweight portability will make traveling with my babies for much easier. I highly recommend this ramp for use with any 'weight appropriate' animal that has difficulty walking or negotiating steps.Melba Y.

I have a senior dog that is having difficulty with stairs. I have several spots where a ramp is needed, with different rises, so I bought several ramps from several companies to see what would work best. My primary concern was length of ramp versus weight of ramp, as I have higher rises and in some spots I need to run several ramps with a landing pad in between. Discount ramps arrived the fastest. When they say lightweight, they mean it. It is not designed for anything other than a dog. It is very lightweight, which was what I was looking for because it will need to be set up and taken down repeatedly. However the design of the ramp basically has 3 aluminum rails that are the bottom edge supports and a center rail which run the length of the ramp, with a sheet of aluminum laid over the 3 rails and hinges in the center. The hinges don't relax to allow the ramp to go completely flat, so the ramp has a little bit of "spring" to it in the center. Also, because of my setup, a human has to step on the ramp in order to open and go in and out of the door. I am only 150 pounds, well under the weight capacity of the ramp, and I can walk on it without it breaking, but I can feel the sag of the sheet aluminum in between each of the rails where there is no support. It is holding with no issues, but I don't know how it will hold up over time. Also, one of the rivets in the center by the hinges popped the first time it was used, straight out of the box. One of my other dogs ran up the ramp and the "spring" in the hinge area seemed to be the cause of the rivet to pop as the dog caused the ramp to bounce slightly as it ran up the ramp. The ramp has been in use for 2 weeks now and no other issues have arisen. The other ramps I ordered from other companies have arrived and they are heavier, longer, and more durable, but are also not as easy to shift around. I have taken this ramp in the vehicle, since it is so lightweight, and it works well resting on the bumper of the SUV. Overall, it is an adequate ramp if lightweight is the primary feature you are looking for. It is the least expensive ramp I ordered, so the price is reflective of the sturdiness of the ramp.Pamela K.

We purchased the ramp for a large, tri-pawed dog who is sometimes afraid to go down a set of steps outdoors, and who has recently hurt his remaining back leg. We have tried to get him accustomed to the feel of it by laying it on the floor indoors in front of his food dish. We've had mixed success and recently, after a few weeks, we removed it. Because there is no latch to stabilize the hinged joint, it gives a little when he steps on it and it frightens him. It will be the same problem stretched across the steps, so we don't think it will have been a good investment, I'm sorry to say. Other than that, the ramp is lightweight and easy to handle.Sheila M.

The ramp was definitely not what I expected from the photos and description. It was much narrower than anticipated and the height of the cargo area of our SUV made the angle of ascent very steep (we probably could have used a 4th panel). We have an older, 90-pound boxer who is very low maintenance. Our dog attempted three times to climb up the ramp and, as it was steep, managed only to scratch the emery-board type surface of the ramp as he clung for dear life! It also took up decidedly more room in our cargo area than we had anticipated. I think it was just a poor fit for our dog and our car. Returned it as it wasn't going to work for us, but I'm sure could work perfectly well for another dog and vehicle. EXTREMELY DURABLE RAMP!! It blew out of the bed of our pickup while driving down the highway at 70 mph! It took a quarter of a mile to get stopped and I walked back expecting to pick up only a few recognizable pieces. TO MY PLEASANT SURPRISE, the Pet Gear Travel Lite Tri-Fold Pet Ramp was fully intact and usable. The only damage was on a corner and an edge that had some scuffing from sliding along the pavement. It was missed by several cars and trucks as I walked back to get it which was also nice. I do not know if it would survive being hit by a large truck but it certainly passed the test of hitting the ground at 70 mph and sliding to a stop. I would recommend this Pet Gear Travel Lite Tri-Fold Pet Ramp to anyone looking for a ramp that is easy to fold up for traveling as well as being very durable. My recommendation is a Yes, BUT! This product might work well for dogs smaller than mine. It does meet one of my criteria. It is lightweight and portable and thus easy to use. However, it has not worked well for my 100 pound Bernese Mountain dogs. It does not have a lip on the sides, so the dogs walk off of it. Also, the sand paper type coating for traction doesn't really hold their feet very well. I have big claw gashes in it from one use where the dog did not feel it had a secure footing. A carpet base would be better. In short, I will either have to retrofit this, or get a different one. I can't use it as is.kcc

This is great- love how it could be a ramp or stairs. It could be a little higher with the ramp side, however the stairs work good for now with my little dog. I think the ramp is great if they have hip issues just like I said could be a little higher like the stairs are. The only thing I any not impressed with is that it only comes with one set of the sticky nonslip pads and they aren’t al that great at sticking to the bottom of the sides if you move it because of picking it up to clean the area underneath it- they call off. I wish this product would’ve came with either extra sets of those sticky nonslip stickers, or were already glued on to them legs and sides that would slide on the floor- better yet if they legs and sides were built with a nonslip think on them. Other then that love the stairs/ramp it’s very easy and doesn’t need anything assembling.Dani

These steps are not worth the price of free. They are incredibly cheaply made of thick cardboard, not even wood. The corner was broken off out of box, the legs do not clip on, it chips easily so when you pick it up they fall out. The "group" pads fall apart when you peel them off the adhesive, and so not stay in place. I will be returning it and would never buy it again.BB&B Customer

We bought these stairs to help our senior dogs. Our oldest is 13 pounds and 13 years old . Our youngest is 85 pounds and 7 years old. Our bed is high and the smallest dog wanted on and off the bed constantly. He is now able to get on and off by himself. The bigger dog use to leap onto the bed no problem. She is showing signs of struggle so we invested in these stairs! The stairs do flip to the other side as a ramp. But, I do not like the ramp as it is too steep! Both of the dogs refuse to use it! They will however use the stairs with no problems. I do recommend this product if using as stairs!!Yanna B

I purchased this back in June and it's awesome, so much easier for my pups than stairs. One of my dogs had a recent spinal injury and I've been worried about him having too much stress on his back, it's much easier for him to climb down a ramp than it is to hop down steps. My dogs are both pretty big, with both weighing around 110 pounds and sometimes it is harder for them to jump up into my families vehicles. I am so glad to own this now, as it makes travel time so much easier and much more streamlined. Instead of taking several minutes trying to lift them into my truck, I am able to easily take out the ramp and set it up and have them walk up the ramp in a minute or so. I love that this ramp folds up and doesn't take up a lot of room as I store it in my trunk. Having it in my trunk makes it so much easier to just load my dogs up and go for an adventure or to take them to their appointments. My husband threw his hip out, so this ramp has been a huge help to me personally. I love how sturdy this ramp is as well, I do not have to worry about it buckling or being unsteady while my dogs are on it. I want to purchase another one of these for my other vehicle, I love it so much. This ramp will be even handier when my family is able to go camping, as we love going on many adventures. I needed one of these for my dog who just happened to have surgery on his hip. This ramp made is easier for him to get in and out of the truck safely without injuring himself after surgery. Easy to set up and is not very heavy which is a huge plus. This would work for almost any breed of dog in my opinion as its fairly sturdy and is large. Great for senior pets, or even pets who are nervous about getting in and out of vehicles. Or also perfect for your pet after having a surgery like mine. Appears to be sturdy enough. It would be nicer if it had a carry handle, and the latch that is supposed to hold it together from unfolding is useless. I thought the “sandpaper” surface would not bother my dog; but I was wrong. It’s not so much a gritty surface like sandpaper, but tiny plastic bristles—one of which stuck painfully in my finger, so I understand her reluctance to use it. I tried covering it with a rug runner, but after her first experience, my dog doesn’t want anything to do with it. So, I may try again later with a rug on it and see if she will use it. I got it to use for getting into the car as well as for use in the house. It’s as transportable as anything its size, but a handle and an effective latch would improve portability.FLMeemaw

We bought this car ramp from Alpha Paw about month ago for our 10 year old golden retriever Buddy. He started having trouble getting into our truck with stairs we purchased when he was a puppy so we took a chance on the car ramp so we can bring Buddy on vacation. While the new ramp is not a perfect fit for our Acura MDX I was able to position the ramp to go into back seat and Buddy took to it pretty easily and went up and down the ramp 3 times without hesitation. It doesn’t hurt to have a treat bribe to give him a reward. We plan on a trip to Hilton Head in October. Buddy just loves running on the beach there chasing his balls so we are very happy that we were able to find a functional ramp to get in and out of our truck. The ramp is well built and very convenient. The surface of the ramp is like sandpaper. It's surface is intended to create better traction, but it doesn't really. My truck is lifted 6 inches which is why I purchased the ramp. However, the lifted height created a bit of a steep angle and made it hard for my dog to climb up. The rough surface just abrased his hind paw and made it bleed. Now he is reluctant to use the ramp. The surface could have been better thought out. If you have a low vehicle, this probably won't be an issue. This ramp is a great idea but needs improvement before I can whole-heartedly recommend it.Gil A.

Just received my ramp. Light and easy to maneuver. Wish it had a handle to carry. Latch when folded easily comes unlatch. Biggest disappointment is that ramp surface is too slippery as my dog’s nails just slide across surface and create a dangerous condition-rubber or carpet would be ideal! Excellent! One dog uses it a lot, and older one is still getting used to it, and two don't even bother. But it is a very nice sturdy piece. I love the cherry color. I had been looking and researching for something for my two dogs that are 11 years in age and having trouble getting on and off our bed. I knew stairs wasn't an option so I got one of these wood bedside ramps and I absolutely love it. I like the ribbed carpet that covers it and that makes my dogs feel more secure when using it. I like how it is angled to run the length of my bed and having a tall bed isn't an issue since it has a height of 25 inches. It was very easy to assemble only took me a few minutes and all hardware for assembly was included. It is very easy to keep clean and I can easily move it into our living room during the day so my dogs can have access to the couch if needed. The weight limit is 120 lbs so I dont worry about it tipping over when my dogs are running up and down. The only thing is on wood floors, it will slide as in our living room, but we use a blanket underneath it and this sovled the problem. As long as it helps my dogs and gives them the ability to continue living a easy life, it is well worth it. It did not take my dog very long to learn how to use it and I am super happy, as previously I was very concerned about her trying to jump off our bed at night. This ramp seemed pretty sturdy, I believe it's rated to 150 lbs. The no-slip walkway was very good, BUT had to return because our 12 year old dog (90 lbs) was not willing to go that high; it was for the rear of 2019 subaru outback, seemed good quality. I got this ramp for my 10 year old dachshund rescue dog to use indoors on a short set of steps that lead to the outside door. (Just for steps). I am happy with the quality and there was nothing to assemble. Although the surface has a slight roughness, it is still too slippery for Lucy – she sort of slid down the last foot or so. I am going to cover it with carpeting using double sided carpet tape which i feel with solve the problem. Also because we are using the ramp indoors on steps I will need to secure the top edge to the landing. After that I think it will be quite adequate for her. She has some back issues and I do not want her straining herself up and down steps. I would expect this ramp to be good for medium to small dogs, it seems a bit too flexible for a dog over 40 lbs.Andrea

My jeep is 22" high and i got this ramp for my 100lb rottweiler who has both his knees operated. This ramp is perfect. My dog goes in and out of my car with no issues. This is 60" long ramp which gives it a 22 degree angle of inclination for the ramp. 18 to 22 degree is recommended for dog ramps. It also has strap to attach the end of the car. I have to use old sweats on the ramp while my dog goes up to make it less slippery. But that not big deal. Its light weight and folds which are best the features. Overall it is perfect solution to my getting my dog in the car.ikha2889

We were excited to receive this ramp because we have a corgi and try to prevent her from jumping on and off furniture as much as possible. Unfortunately, the box arrived damaged, and the ramp’s legs are wooden, so there is a 12+ inch crack down one of the sides. It’s also awkwardly long for our bedroom and living room, so would recommend measuring your space when deciding between a ramp or stairs. On the plus side, it has a nice non-slip carpet over the surface, and the bottom of the ramp has 2 non-slip grips. It also folds up easily and has lots of possible heights to set it to, so it’s versatile in that regard!Natalie&Scout

This is a great solution for a 20-lb. Senior dog (who recently had some knee and leg issues) to have some autonomy with getting up and down his favorite living room sofa. This was a very disappointing purchase. As soon as it arrived on my front stoop I could tell that this unit had already been purchased, poorly repackaged, and resold without anyone ever bothering to fix the poor repackaging. Initially upon unboxing the item everything looked ok. Upon further review I found a huge crack in one main sidewall of the ramp at what would be the top of the ramp if it were in a raised position. It was then that I noticed that the ramp was made of plastic. Maybe I should have seen that in the specifications before buying. My guess is that a human genius walked on the ramp and broke it. I thing the weight rating is like 90lbs but don't quote me on that. Definitely not made for a human to walk on.surneb

Overall I really like this ramp a lot. I needed one for my English Bulldog puppy, who has weak hind legs, to help her get on our couch by herself. We don't have a lot of space around our couch so I wanted one that wasn't too long or wide, had a platform at the top, with an incline that wasn't too steep – not to mention one that looked nice would be good too.Ibrahim Lake
