It's a so-so PURCHASE for the price compared to the high-cost brands. The metal frame is light-weight and the canvas is medium-weight. The material sags slightly and my dogs are not flat when they lay on it. I purchased an extra large for a small/15 lbs and medium/40 lbs dog to share because they refuse separate anything and for space considerations. You'll need a large floor space, so you don't trip over frame corners in walk area. My dogs will not lay on it for extended time; they prefer the floor or their cheap dog pillows. I tried adding a soft, fluffy, over-sized blanket, but it didn't improve their use of the bed. The manufacturing quality of the bed is great! All parts were in perfect condition. That's a rare thing anymore, so I'd give them 5 stars on manufacturing. ASSEMBLY was a big pain. It took a lot of strategy to get the screws to drive in straight. DELIVERY was about 2 weeks using standard. The openings of the box were in bad shape upon delivery. Fortunately, the tape kept it from losing contents. This is a great bed for any pets. I used it on my dogs so they can lie elevated above the floor should they chose too. If you have a kenneled dog, this would be great for them. My dog is crazy for this bed. I have now purchased 3. One for my bedroom, living room and downstairs office. During the winter I put a quilt in them and the summer when it is warm I take them out. I have 3 regular beds for her that she will not use. She is just 1 year old and a 70 pound English cream retriever who loves to spend a great deal of back time and this cot is perfect. I purchased the first one and was moving it each night because she is crazy for this. We have had no problem with her chewing these or ripping them at all. They all look new yet. She also no longer wants her kennel because she wants her cot. After 6 months she no longer used her kennel, but we do leave her in my office and living room when we go and have had no problems. She is a huge chewer, but actually sleeps in her cot when we are gone. She is crazy when we get home, but I am so happy she is a good girl when we are gone. I believe this bed is perfect for my girl. My dog in the pictute is around 24 lb miniature poodle, he fits fine. I wouldn't recommend it for a much bigger dog. The bed has two textures. The gray is a strong smooth fabric very strong like canvas or denim. The light gray is soft and padded. It open up like a folding chair but, it locks into place so its very safe. And it isnt super high so a small dog can get in and out on his own. The bottom feels rubberized for water proofing. This bed works well inside and outside. I am pleased with and will be using it. The first night of sleeping on this bed was the best night for me…why…because He didn't wake me up until 9am instead of 7:30 am to go out to potty. The "cooling" side of the mattress is a lie. I know how cooling mattresses looks like and yours just have the color but not a cooling layer. My dog is very hot in his new bed during hot days and sleeps on the floor. Therefore, I feel cheated for having paid almost $50 for this bed. Also, the cover material is synthetic which naturally created heat and on top of a synthetic sponge creates a really too hot environment for my dog. The material is slippery so my elderly dog can hardly get up. The only reason I gave two stars is that the shape and height are good. Still, sizes you provide are inadequate and not a reflection of dog needs which is strange when Furheaven is in this business. My Yorki is a normal size. Yet, when I bought small which you recommend according to the size and weight chart as well as the sleeping area measurements you provided,he can fit well provided he is all the time in something like a fetus position and he doesn't move much. He cannot stretch or lie down in such a way so as to have at least an inch of space between himself and the sides of the bed. Dogs sometimes sleep in a stretched position and do need some extra space. Dogs also move during the sleep, swirl around, wiggle. So I had to get him a medium size which is really too big for him and the space where we keep it in our apartment but I am happy he has some extra space. Humans don't sleep in beds which are exactly their size. Standard beds even if a twin size have some extra space on all four sides because nobody stays in one position during the night. We absolutely LOVE this bed!!! It is extremely well made with separate zippered compartments for the bolster and bed padding. This makes it very easy to wash the cover and not the padding. I highly recommend the "Convoluted Orthopedic Foam" Mattress. As we live in California where the weather is warmer, the "Quilted" Cover material has been perfect all year round. This is actually our second bed that we bought. The first bed we bought for our an older dog who was starting to get arthritis and have back issues. We felt this bed greatly reduced his symptoms and made his last years much more comfortable. At a certain point we ordered a replacement cover for the first bed. we all love this raised bed. this is our second one, the first one we purchased several years ago and is holding up so well (it still looks new!). we take it outside during the day for our two fur-babies to sit on it and then move it all over the yard if they prefer sun versus shade. the second one will be for inside the house in our hu-man seating area so they feel like they have a seat that's just theirs. great design with the legs, they never collapse when they jump on it (and one of them often uses it for added height when they play)….unlike other raised bed designs that fold like a beach chair but then collapse when jumped on. easy to assemble.Stacia
This is a good quality product that I am hoping will last a good many years. Was quite difficult to assemble in terms of getting the last bolt in and required two pairs of hands. I don't know how the assembly process could be improved as the bed surface needs to be under tension which is what makes the final assembly a little problematic. The biggest issue is around registering the product to take advantage of the guarantee. For Europe, you have to register on the Canada/USA site and of course the form is geared for zip codes not UK address formats. I ended up on a chat session with them and still have no confirmation of the registration of the purchase. A very frustrating and time consuming process for something which should be a lot easier.Stuart F
My cats just love the cots for lounging, playing, sleeping, and that cat superiority point of view above the floor. This cot is very sturdy. Although it says small its bigger than the small travel cot from other makers. Its not too big or too small. Thats quite Okay with me and the cats. Three of them can get on it together, which they do. The Terra Cotta is a perfect color for me, I love it because it blends in with the decor. The mat portion is mesh all around, the frame is metal and comes with the single tool needed to screw it together. They can be used indoors or outdoors. I have another one in grey outside and its been fine through two summers and winters. Once put together its designed to stay together so i wouldn't say its a travel cot. I think did see a replacement mat available when i ordered this. I may go ahead and order the replacement mat portion for a few years down the road while its available because the cats love it so much it going to get a lot of wear. Got this bed for an older 50 lb. dog needing a soft place to lay, also got another 4-5 inch thicker orthopedic bed for her.As soon as we opened and laid this bed out she got on it and didn't get off of it except to go out to the bathroom, then came right back to the bed. It gives a little from her lying on it but I just shake it out to fluff it up. Its not real thick about 2 inches but soft and she seems to like it better than the sheepskin rug she use to sleep on.She rotates from this to the thicker bed, but I think this one gets a little more use.All in all a good bed that is easy to throw in the washing machine, soft and good neutral color. It's very thick and plush and has withstood multiple washes. The 17×11 size is good enough for a normal-sized cat. My overweight (14-lb) cat loves it but the next size up would be better for her. Santa brought us this pet bed for Christmas. My 13 pound chi weenie fits in it comfortably, as well as my smaller dogs. It is made of memory foam covered in velour, with a nice plush pillow cushion for sleeping on. The cushion is machine washable. My dogs like it because they like to be protected when they rest. We purchased these from Cabela’s in the past, but they stopped selling them. Our boys love them! Our boys are 55lbs basset/dachshund and 110lbs redbone coonhound/lab. Unlike the other types of material, this doesn’t get dirty, stinky, and gross from boys eating and lounging outside. We just rinse them down occasionally and it’s like new again. I tried buying a different brand, but fabric ended up wearing and tearing. I also had to break bed down often to take off cover to bleach wash out the “dog” smell. Our boys were so happy when their new/old beds were delivered. They naturally will eventually wear out with use. Needed a second cot for 10 year old Gordon Setter, she had outgrown her original. I like that this one has the mesh base. Makes it breathable in warm weather, plus I can add a blanket in colder weather. Madison can now stretch out and not hang over the edges. It is high enough off the ground but not too high. Our cot style dog beds broke after about 5 years not to shabby considering they were free. After much research ordered one of these. When we uncolapsed it was a little worred a little more square then the one's we are use to! No worries works well. Dogs fight over whose gonna sleep on it! Our 95lb lab mix fits very well on it. Love the way it colapses might have to get one for the camper. We've had it for a couple of months, and my Anatolian Shepherd (about 70 pounds) loves it. Some of the other reviews mention it not having a zipper, but mine has one to remove the center padding and a separate one to remove the outside ring's padding. It hasn't flattened down much at all, so it's still pretty comfy to lay on with her. It feels super high quality. I've washed it about once every two weeks, and there doesn't appear to be any wear from the washing machine and dryer like our other dog bed.Lydia
