We have used it recently on two dogs — a 5 mo old Border Collie and a 1 year old German Shephard. The results were amazing. Oh my goodness! I am just about to purchase a Canny collar from VetnPet after borrowing a friend's to trial. We both have Dobermans, both pull like crazy and consequently we both have sore left shoulders. After 4 walks on the Canny collar my Dobe is a breeze to walk. Before the Canny, my arm was ALWAYS extended whereas now I have NOT had to extend my arm once. It is as if my Dobe is stuck on my left knee. The past 4 walks have been so enjoyable and easy we are walking an extra half to one hour each morning. Cannot believe the difference. Another advantage using a Canny is all the control is from the back of the head/neck and not to the side like some haltis. Nice collar, good quality webbing and buckle. I do not find it as easy as shown to wrap the loose webbing around my dogs neck , when letting my dog run free, only because I find the clips fiddly and have to put my glasses on. In theory it sounds good but I have a persistant pulling springer and it doesn't'work on her like the videos I've watched. She doesn't mind the band across her nose as she has previously worn a halti, although sometimes she manages to get it off. I've looked up about persistent pulling whilst using the canny collar and I'm now trying the long lead and turn method. I feel more in control by holding the head but it doesn't stop pulling instantly . I think with my dog this is going to take time and patience to crack this. I knew about this product for several weeks, but I delayed in getting it. I thought I'd give the puppy a chance with regular training methods (treats, praise, verbal corrections) before I started futzing with a special collar and have to buy it in two sizes. That was really stupid. I wish I would have bought it sooner and spent the money on the two sizes. I got this one in a size Medium and it fits perfectly with just an easy adjustment of the buckle. Our little man is a Labradoodle, now at about 32 lbs and expected to reach a 60-ish weight probably. He is VERY high energy, very strong and very smart, but our little darling is no longer little and I have been finding myself struggling with his 32 lb self pulling on the walks. So I adopted a 3 year old pitty who had no training outside of “sit”. This collar is no where near as wide as the photo makes it appear. My dog will have this thing broke in less then a month. Absolutely worthless collar for a large dog. They claim it is for a large dog, but, I guess they never meet my large doge. His current collar is twice as wide and at least twice as thick, is less then 9 months old and he is tearing it. We have only had to use the continuous shock once at level 2. I’m able to keep basic corrections in house and outside in the yard! I have two very strong Scottish terriers who would pull when they saw another dog or cat and they actually pulled me over. I was fed up with having bruised and scraped hands and knees so I asked Google where I could get a non pull harness. They came up with several and I chose two from Petplanet.co.uk. They arrived very quickly and I have been using them for a week now. The did exactly what it said on the label. The dogs no longer pull and dog walks are much more pleasant and relaxing. The best investment I have made for my puppy, who is growing fast and extremely jumpy. It got to the stage where I found it incredibly difficult to walk her, but the Halti harness works a treat! The Halti double ended lead can be wrapped around you so you use your body weight rather than your hands/arms to stop the pulling. I can literally walk hands free! You can then take the lead off the front part of the harness and it becomes a 6 foot lead, which is great for recall training. If you take the whole double ended lead off, the harness has about a 1ft lead attached to it, which is easy to grab if you need to when you let your dog off the lead. It has turned our dog walks into a pleasure rather than a nightmare!awchan2801

This really is a tremendously different product. 127 settings seemed overwhelming to me. As I use this more and more as I train my dog, I’m able to see what that really means. In the past, collars I’ve used only had a few settings, so moving up or down a notch so to say was a dramatic difference, while the dogtra allows me to fine tune the stim very minimally until I find my dogs “number” for the variety of situations. I bought the Dogtra 280C to use with my very active and agile 1 year old Toy Austrailian Sheppard for stopping unwanted behaviors like digging up my lawn and attacking the cat. The transmitter and receiver both hold charges for days, and easily sync by just holding the two units next to one another at the red dots for a second. The 1/2 mile range is more than enough to reach out and touch her for a friendly reminder to come in for supper. The LCD screen is super nice to see stimulation level at night or when I don't have my glasses with me. I have always been apprehensive of shock collars, but my dog was back-tracking on her training. She has always behaved very well on a leash, just to forget that training when the leash comes off. In only 2 weeks of use, this collar has worked like a charm! I have only had to shock once- the vibration and beep modes are enough to correct her. I had a waterproof beeper before. I learned quickly after drowning it. It is not submersible. Now. I know the difference. And this one is a keeper. I love its freedom. I love to walk around the neighborhood pond with our dog, Louise. She loves to play fetch, Especially in the pond. When others walk by she wants to greet them enthusiastically. This is the perfect breast collar for a pony. My Wife bought a wild Mustang pony Mare with colt last Sept. The colt was one week and the Mare was 3 years, but she is small by pony standards. The transmitter will not charge, despite my having ordered a new battery. The collar receives and charger work just fine, but the transmitter does not work well…it lost its charge and I can't recharge it…so it's a very expensive one-time-use collar. We found this on Amazon and were impressed with the value. It appears to be well made and good quality. If you haven’t used a halter before, be patient and watch a few YouTube videos. It will take some time for your dog to get used to it, but once they do you will be amazed. It adjusts easily, but the large was almost too big for our 55lb collie mix and he has a fairly long snout. This halter is just excellent. My daughter has special needs and this halter is perfect even for her to use. Our big dog responds to it perfectly. My dogs are 30kgs and 35kgs so they're both very strong. They both have a problem with pulling when they have a body harness on. This stops them pulling almost entirely – they will still pull when they want to sniff another dog or something exciting happens but it isn't anywhere near as strong as before. One big issue this thing has is if the dog pulls backwards it can slip over their head. My doberman has a skinny neck and head so this is a real problem with her. We have taken to putting on her old harness and clipping the rear D rings to it so that if the head halter comes off we still have her clipped to the body harness. (It's happened twice now, once when I was trying to tie my shoe and a dog barked behind me, and once when she was tied up outside a coffee shop)sorryboss_23

I had bought this a week ago in store. I'm so happy with the progress my dog has already made using this. He used to bolt out the gate but now hes always right by my side, checking in on me and making sure I'm keeping up with him. I knew about this product for several weeks, but I delayed in getting it. I thought I'd give the puppy a chance with regular training methods (treats, praise, verbal corrections) before I started futzing with a special collar and have to buy it in two sizes. That was really stupid. I wish I would have bought it sooner and spent the money on the two sizes. I got this one in a size Medium and it fits perfectly with just an easy adjustment of the buckle. Our little man is a Labradoodle, now at about 32 lbs and expected to reach a 60-ish weight probably. He is VERY high energy, very strong and very smart, but our little darling is no longer little and I have been finding myself struggling with his 32 lb self pulling on the walks. I cannot imagine when he is full grown, so I decided finally to nip this in the bud and I ordered the gentle leader. It arrived today and I was amazed at how he has NO power to pull AT ALL. I even noticed that in many situations like when he would normally lunge at something, he didn't, maybe that is just from the novelty and will eventually wear off, but for today, it was as if he had a total attitude adjustment. It was like magic. He is none too pleased about the new situation, for sure, but I am pleased as punch. Will take a few days of working with him to get used to it so he stops trying to pull it down with his paws, but even when he was trying he couldn't get it off successfully unless I let off on the tension to the leash altogether which I was able to correct for easily enough. I am so glad I took the chance and purchased these for my adorable and INSANELY CRAZY JRTs.I have tried it all. Obedience lessons, vibrate collars, halters, treats… but JRTs are very independent minded and unless you spend THOUSANDS on training, forget it.I have disabilities so walking my beloved pups was a challenge most daysMy male is still adjusting. He doesn't like it.However, he will fight a bit but once he puts the one part where the clasp connects to leader and then believes he's walking himself, then he prances down the sidewalk as if he's in control again.Our female is very good with it. You can tell she's not too happy about it, but walks very well now and I don't struggle with them barking ridiculously at bikes, dogs, SQUIRRELS!, etc.She was always running on her halter and now ~I~ WALK my dogs, they don't pull me.I didn't even watch the training DVD. My husband and I just put them on. The 1st eve was a bit difficult, but its been a few days and they are doing way better.I know by next week they will be fine. Jo is stubborn so it will be a few days but Jesse has adjusted. She's just happy to walk anytime.
