This really is a tremendously different product. 127 settings seemed overwhelming to me. As I use this more and more as I train my dog, I’m able to see what that really means. In the past, collars I’ve used only had a few settings, so moving up or down a notch so to say was a dramatic difference, while the dogtra allows me to fine tune the stim very minimally until I find my dogs “number” for the variety of situations. I feel this is really helping the bond with my dog and therefore training is improved.MountainGSD

I bought the Dogtra 280C to use with my very active and agile 1 year old Toy Austrailian Sheppard for stopping unwanted behaviors like digging up my lawn and attacking the cat. The transmitter and receiver both hold charges for days, and easily sync by just holding the two units next to one another at the red dots for a second. The 1/2 mile range is more than enough to reach out and touch her for a friendly reminder to come in for supper. The LCD screen is super nice to see stimulation level at night or when I don't have my glasses with me. My girlfriend owns my dogs twin brother, he also needed corrective training, therefor being as pleased as I am with the performance of my Dogtra 280C, I couldn't help but buy one for her to use with him as well.Red Dogg 47

Arrived on time, i have a yellow lab and i bought the collar for her to prevent her from licking her abdomen wound. the black buttons came off too easy and many times, the holes became bigger that the black tabs wont fit on them and i could not make the collar tighter for her in order to use the other holes. I'd tried a few different things to curb my dog's barking but nothing had worked. I chose this model based on the 'Bark Collars by Breed' chart and then rang the 0800 number to get further advice. The guy I spoke to could not have been more helpful. It's a pretty expensive purchase but I felt really confident that I wouldn't be throwing more money down the drain after speaking to him. My Boston Terrier of 9 years never barked in her life. We got a rescue and those days are over. Now she barks at everything, even more than the rescue. I bought an inferior product that didn’t work at all. So I invested in the Barkless 504. Well she will bark through the stimulation, even with the longer sensors and set to the highest L9. It does seem she barks a little less, but she definitely barks through the collar stimulation. I’m not over joyed by the function of this collar but it seems to be the best there is.Penny R

This collar did not work properly. It would do static correction when my dog was quiet and the bark counter didn't even register a single bark when he was barking like crazy. I tried to get it to work properly for 3 days before returning for a refund (that I had to pay shipping for both ways). It was very disappointing, especially when I was told 'there was nothing wrong with the collar'. (Yes, it was fitted correctly.) This collar is no good for very fluffy dogs. I'd suggest getting a collar with a microphone instead of vibration sensor for fluffy dogs.Rheannon D.

This e-collar is definitely worth the extra money hands down as its a safer option for counter-conditioning out some nasty habits. Whether it be resource guarding, dog based aggressive tendencies, human based reactivity, or long-term rehabilitation of stubborn habits. This collar is the way to go. Larger dogs require larger solutions and this collar is much more comfortable as its not as sharp compared to some. I have used them all at some point in training, and if you want great results, with the help if a professional this is the way to go.ppotter_0003

this e collar is amazing. My 100lb plotthound is a wanderer. When the other two dogs were out playing in the yard, we'd have to keep him on a long lead, which prevented him from fully playing free with our other dogs. … we tried numerous times to start on the lead, then let him off and continuously do call and reward, but eventually, he'd always sneak over to the neighbors. With The Boss I'm able to correct his behavior from across the yard. It took less than one week to get him fully trained. Works on my 120lb Pyrenees lab mutt! He has thick hair. Hes stubborn as all heck. I had to turn the power down to 35% there is plenty left if a deer comes I can juice it up for his safety (if needed.) most of the time 35 will stop him. I rarely need to shock him now. He knows how to win. The only thing I use the collar for is the come here command as that is the most important command ever and I dont want to confuse him. I have had this since January of 2018, best purchase IMO, is it perfect? No, does it work really really well? Yes it does. Is it sometimes slow to lock onto your phone? Yes, easy fix as I turn the collar and receiver on prior to getting ready or when we get into the car, that way everything is good to go when its time to go. The longest it has taken to acquire and lock on to my phone had been around 5 minutes. I use this several (3-4) times and week and haven't had any issues with the collar prongs bothering my dogs neck or causing issues. IMO it is an excellent value for the cost and its peace of mind knowing I know where my dog is at all times.Alexis

So far I have not used this to train my pup. My pup is to young (only 4 months). I have down load the App to my I Phone & have set it up for use. So far everything has been straight forward & easy to set up. The website for the product contains a lot of information on how to use this product for training & for Trouble Shooting if needed. This collar has tracked my husky as she ran off leash while out on hikes. It shows on our phones where she is, when she stops running, when she barks and what path she takes. It is neat to be able to watch the paths she takes when chasing the deer in the woods. It has tracked her over half a mile away. My only comment – which has more to do with my dog than the collar – is that the shocks don’t seem to phase her. I think her fur may be too thick.Dallas

These collars work great with a little bit of time and training. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. Whereas when I first got them the charge lasted about a week. This is after treating them correctly, turning off when not in use and only charging when needed.Elizabeth R.

I have used this collar for 2-3 years now, I went with it as it is one of the highest rated collars when researched. I do run into technical difficulties as you do with anything else and have had no problem with having them replaced. I favorite part is the range and diverse control settings. When my dogs are out of the yard, I just hit the sound button and they know they have went to far and to get back. They come usually immediately. My least favorite part is the product does not seem to last very long.. in the two to three years I’ve used this, I have had to get a few replaced and all with different problems. I recently bought a brand new set of two, and I am very happy. I just have a problem with one of them flashing the green light constantly while the device is on and the battery life on that specific collar does not last. Overall still my favorite collar, although I haven‘t used anything else!Sarah

I love how the vibration & shock can be set from 0-99. The sound tones are also pitched slightly different for each collar & has the option to add a third collar. I’ve had this for months & the battery in the remote lasts extremely long. I think I’ve only charged it once. The collars last days as well. The only thing I wish was easier is the ability to switch over from each channel. When you switch from shock to vibrate, the first click is to switch over, then the second click actually vibrates the collar (& vice versa). When switching over to the other channel, you have to follow the same procedure. Which is fine for normal circumstances. But, when it’s an emergent situation, that extra time it takes to shock/ vibrate the other collar can make a huge difference & lead to a struggle in a stressful situation.Erin

The e-collar provided by my vet was almost impossible to fasten & unfasten. Ran to TS & got this one & it’s MUCH better. Easy & fast to snap closed, same with opening for removal. Comes with a spare rocker snap just in case. Plastic is more clear than the vet’s & has thicker padding on the edges. My Great Pyrenees has tolerated it exceptionally well & his incision is healing beautifully. Very happy I bought this & I will probably donate the other one to some needy doggos.Meg McG

I purchased this one as I wanted a wireless version vs the perimeter one I had to bury. We use this when we go fishing as well as around the house. We have only had to use the continuous shock once at level 2. The tone works so well we dont really need the other features but we have them just in case, our dog decides to be really stubborn in the future. My favorite is how easy it is to use, charge and the fact the tone is the best way to get my dog's attention. It has not taken long for him to know the remote goes to his collar and that just showing him he knows to heel or the tone sound will come on and get his attention quickly. My sister is purchasing one as well since my purchase, as she has seen how much it has helped our strong willed dog. He just needed a little extra guidance for his safety as we live off a highway and next to woods with coyotes. Definitely would buy again and looking forward to showing my sister how to work hers next week.Countrysun

Really enjoy the simplicity of the collar and remote. My only wish is that the vibrate setting was higher, our deaf American bully doesn't respond to the vibrate setting very well. Literally bought this as my second attempt first was a petsafe wireless fence and it wasn’t as user friendly as this petsport with a remote. I’m able to keep basic corrections in house and outside in the yard! I was worried it wouldn’t be small enough for my mini Heeler but the collar comes with an abundant amount of holes for proper fit on anything ! Supper pleased with the collar and the three bases it has for training. The beep tone the one hit simulation and the longer hit stimulation gives me theee options to ask my dog according to what she’s doing. I like that it can be supper mild and allow her the chance to be asked nicely and then reinforced mildly and then reinforcement with a sterner setting. A true life saver. My pup was running out to the neighbors across the street and up to meet cars it literally only took thirty mins in house training on basics and then outside yard training for a little under an hour! I am now no longer stressed about her getting hurt she comes right back to me and treats me as I am her safe spot! I thought it would discourage her but if taken time and reading directions and applying properly you will have a new dog !Heeler

I've put this shoe through 50 miles at this point, mainly on long runs over 10 miles. It is a great ride, with enough space in the toe box for those longer runs. The midsole foam does an excellent job at providing cushioning but remains responsive so that even at the end of a long run my feet feel in good shape. I also have a pair of Hoka Mach 4's, and in my personal opinion, I enjoy the Novablast 2's more and feel that they are the more comfortable shoe overall, and especially for longer runs. Overall this is a comfortable daily trainer with decent energy return that allows for quicker than usual pace with similar perceived effort. Pros: very comfortable upper, great midsole padding, good traction, and overall durability seems superior to most Hoka’s I’ve bought Cons: Not crazy exciting (not boring necessarily) but doesn’t feel like anything special underfoot. The big problem that made me give it 4 stars is it rolls my foot inward. I’ve been a neutral runner for 20 years. I’ve never seen my foot so this but I can see and feel my foot roll inward, especially when walking a cool down. My knees have hurt after 6-8 mile runs when they didn’t in the gliderides or Mach 4s. It's a pretty good shoe. Fairly comfortable, removed the stitching on the tongue from the first model that pressed into your skin, which is great. They're also more stable than the prior ones with more cushioning, especially in the front where the last ones fell short. My only complaint is that the hard coating over the end or the shoe goes up so far, not talking about the rubber. It causes my toe to hit it and will likely give me callouses like the last one did, especially on the downhills. Something should be done about it, but you'll have to research more. Still way better than the pegasus about it (wouldn't buy those again). Also, the blue is very bright, it would be better if it was a bolder tourquoise but all these color choices are booty. They're either dad shoes or almost feminine looking, please get some help on that.Christophe

I have an adopted fur-baby that had a lot of control and behavior issues. Training, the usual way was just not working. I tried this and, within one day, the disruptive behavior (running and tearing up things in the house, jumping from one piece of furniture to another, non-stop barking) all stopped. He began with sitting, immediately after only two "vibrations" of the collar. By the end of the week, all I had to do was take out the remote control, say the words of sit, stay, no and wait, and he did so. Now, I don't have to use the remote at all but just say the words. I will tell you that, under no circumstances would I recommend the "shock" feature. Because it is easily changed on this model, by accident, I found out, the hard way just how much it hurts the animal. If you click MODE, by accident, from it being on vibrate, it switches over to Shock. BE VERY CAREFUL when you are about to use the Y button, for sound or vibration as, if it's on shock–and this was the very low setting–the dog whelps loudly and jumps, shakes, etc. I would not recommend it for any animal lover as, I don't even want to know what it feels like. Because the vibration is strong, even on low settings, and the other setting of "beep" is a high frequency sound, I found them the most effective. Thebeep sound is for Guiness (my new family member) to come–I use the vibration for correction, when needed. Guiness was the most difficult dog that I have worked with and I have behavioral training for dogs, which I have used for all of my pets. If this worked on him, it will work on most dogs that have behavioral issues. I would recommend it for the vibration and sound settings–and hope to get one that doesn't have the shock setting as, I feel that is just inhumane to use on a dog (my opinion after seeing how he reacted, on just a low setting). PLEASE USE CAREFULLY until you are used to the remote. That is my only advice when purchasing this for training.kelly4jesus

I have had the collar only a few days and so far it has met every expectation. We had a more expensive name brand training collar before this one which my dog somehow removed and chewed to oblivion. Rather than spend over $150 to replace it I wanted to try out a cheaper alternative in the likely event he ruins another one in the future. He had already been familiar with a training collar so going to this one was no problem. I like having a beep tone as well as a vibrate warning before having to go with a full on shock. I have so far only had the use the warning tone which is nice and loud on this collar and the pup recognizes it right away. It seems to have decent distance, have not tested the claimed 330 yards yet though. For the price it is a great unit with nice features. The more expensive one we had before was much more robust but I didnt expect this to be built the same for 1/5th the price, with that said it is built well, surprisingly well for the money honestly. Have not tested the waterproof ability yet as we dont live near water but it looks like it should be fine to get wet without issue. Battery life seems good so far, going on several days without a recharge but we dont use it all day either. Overall I am so far satisfied with it, I would recommend this toanyone who wants an inexpensive training collar but I dont expect it to last for years like the other one we had.kerr8719

Tested on an open field with the collar in line of sight, the range is roughly 150 feet. That said, I strongly doubt if any of the other e-collars can do much better without extraordinary antennas. Here in the US the transmitting power of devices like this is severely limited by law, so the only way to get more range than the competition is to have more prominent antennas. This collar delivers on a 2 year old high drive, 78 pound, male doberman. I used the shock once at 30 and it definitively got a yelp and the dog's attention. Since then the "vibrate" mode is effective enough. Most of the time we use the collar to stop barking at the window, The dog barks we say "quiet" and if, and only "if", the dog immediately barks again he gets a "vibrate". He seems to avoid barking immediately after a "quiet" command. Now the challenge is to extend the time he doesn't bark for at least 30 seconds after a "quiet" commend. Our second and very infrequent application is open field recalls. For that I'd dearly love an electric collar with a 100 yard range, but even this collar's 50 yard range is helpful. Using an e-collar in an open field is a tricky business. What seems to work is to put the collar away until you have a good recall without distractions. Even 10 feet in a hallway or tennis court teaches you and your dog how to do a recall that ends with the beast sitting nicely in front of you and getting a tasty reward. Never repeat your recall command even if it means constantly dragging the animal back until it figures our what you expect. What the e-collar is then useful for is dealing with distractions — another dog, an annoying squirrel or even sniffing a bit of chicken soup spilled nearby. Issue your recall command and look for that momentary hesitation when the animal decides to ignore you and hit the e-collar to remind the beast that you just gave a command. Any other timing and the animal has no clue and would just as easily take off in the opposite direction to get away from the unwelcome stimulation. One feature I miss is a combination tone/shock. I am dog trainer, I have been using Electric Collars for over 15 years. I was married with another major brand for me it was the best brand on electric collars I even refused to try new ones. One day I was traveling to a seminar in Denver with my Mondioring sport dog and the TSA at the airport remove my 2 electric collars from my carry on bag. Once in the seminar I met a participant who has an extra 300TS and she offered to sell the collar to me I was in need of a collar so I agree and bought the collar from her. At the end of the 1rst day of the seminar I was almost convinced that the 300TS was superior to my other collars even my most expensive one. When I came back home I begin trying the 300TS with new dogs and I found it was far superior at every level. Let's begin, the handheld unit is very light and still fell very solid the buttons placement are very intuitive and is almost impossible to deliver the wrong correction to your dog, The vibration mode can be switched to sound mode which is the way I train my recall I always disable the vibrate mode and use the sound mode this great with skeptical people around electric collars. There is 2 delivery buttons the black which is the stem mode and the red which is the boost and deliver up to 20 times your stem level but thiscan be modified to fit you dogs needs, The level of electricity can be locked making impossible to shock your dog. The receiver has light which it can be us as flashlight or to locate your dog in those real dark nightsringdogs

Highly recommend! My dog never came when called . Now she does . She had other really unwanted behaviors that we had such a hard time getting rid of like nipping at our knees to get attention, pulling on her collar, bark at other dogs, and even rip the leash out of our hands while trying to walk her and run crazily through the backyard. We've tried everything- positive reinforcement, harnesses, muzzles,all types of collars and leashes-nothing…ever…worked… After a bit of training I don’t even have to press the button, She knows it’s there. It took me awhile to really use this product consistently, but I'm glad I did. I have a stubborn bulldog mix that I rescued from my local animal shelter and she had lots of bad habits that were getting worse over time. My dog's biggest problems were leash pulling, not listening to come/sit, jumping on our bed and – worst of all – aggression toward other dogs, usually while on walks, and even my husband. I looked into sending her away to a local training camp that was very expensive. When I got their paperwork, one of the terms of agreement was you had to buy and use this model of training collar. Before spending thousands of dollars, I decided to try to train her myself using this collar and send her to camp if it didnt work since I would have to buy and learn to use the collar either way. I highly recommend educating yourself properly first before you start training your dog with ANY e-collar. I watched all of the training videos on the official e-collar technologies website, ecollar.com, and that helped alot with training my dog. Now, walks are actually fun and I'm not worried about my dog hurting my husband or other dogs, and I'm not stressed out by my dog's behavior anymore. I cant emphasize enough to start slow with the remote to avoid freaking the dog out – a lot of bad behavior comes from anxiety and fear, you don't want to make it worse. The on-line Walmart experience was as good as the best service there is, and much better than most. Ordered on Wednesday, at my door on Friday. Free shipping. The Dogtra Arc collar is just what my American Treeing Feist, 11 month puppy needed. I had borrowed the same collar from my daughter for about a month, but she needed it back, so for the past two months he had begun to get a little independent in the woods. As soon as I put the new Arc collar around his neck, he was a changed dog. Even without paging him, he began to hunt about 75 yards out and would return to check on me every few minutes. Whenever he gets out of sight, and seems to wander too long, I simply "page" him about three seconds and he comes running. Only twice in the past week have I had to stimulate him, somewhere between level 6 and 11. Then for a day or two after that, only the pager button is needed to turn him around. This is a great product. We have done a lot of training for our dogs and swear by the e collar. The double set is perfect if you have two dogs as you only need one remote. There are different settings so they can be on different levels at the same time.lindsay.s

We like to walk our dogs off leash when possible, so these collars are great for controlling both dogs with one remote. It took some getting used to how to adjust the stimulation levels for each dog, and we found that just leaving the stimulation unlocked and adjusting manually is the easiest (rather than using the pre-set levels).Joshua M.

It's pricey, but it has my 11 1/2 month old puppy coming back for the first time. Has a long buckle which can be cut to any size, the vibration mode (only one I use) is gentle (I use it on 15-20 percent), it's easy to wipe down and is fully waterproof.2019yomc

i was advised by a police dog trainer to purchase these training collars i have two new puppies a beagle and a dalmation ( both breeds known for there selective hearing) they work perfectly they are acting like well behaved adult dogs already after a weeks use the range is as it says and i have yet to use the shocker as the vibration mode works so well if you are thinking of buying these i would highly recommend that you doscotcheggbobbi
