Replacement Parts For Petsafe Dog Collar For Sale (2024 Update)

The in ground wireless system has been great for containing our dog within our property. However….. our first collar strap that came with the system only lasted us 2 months before the plastic clasp broke. I considered calling the company, but just went ahead and paid for the replacement strap myself, to avoid the headache. I'm hoping this second strap lasts us longer than just 2 months. I have bought many of these over the years, always decent. The latest one keeps slipping and won't stay at the size I set. There must be some QC issue as the others always worked. It just comes loose as she runs and plays, even though I've heated the end to keep from fraying and use the clip to hold the excess collar. It has slipped enough that I'm worried my dog will lose it, so I will have to rig something like a wire-tie or clip of some kind to keep it from getting loose. Disappointing, as all the others I've bought from you were fine and you are the only ones that sell the 1 inch wide collars. The 0.75" are too thin and eventually twist, rendering them ineffective.Tweety

We installed the in ground wire around the perimeter of our property. I have one dog that digs under our fence and one that climbs the fence. These collars keep our dogs away from the fence and keeps them from running out into the street. We have had our fence for 5 years now and only replaced the collars once because I misplaced them. Batteries need replacement every few months. I like that the dogs get a beeping warning once they are within a few feet of the perimeter and only get shocked if they cross the boundary.fldolphinmc

I have a lab / hound mix that is 11 years old and she weighs about 85lbs. We began usin this collar since April 2017 and within 3 months, one of the prongs broke off. We contacted petsafe and were told that this is an uncommon problem and that the only way this could happen is due to "rough play, hitting it against an object, over-tightening the probes, etc." I have a hard time believing our senior aged dog plays rough enough to break the prongs of a durably made product. If you have a larger / sporting breed dog, i would steer clear of this product and go with Invisible Fence or the SportDOG brand from another retailer. They seem to cater to larger / sporting breeds. We've had our fence under a year, no problems with the actual fence. We have 2 dogs on the fence, 1 is an English Mastiff and the other is a Cocker Spaniel. The Cocker Spaniel's clip/closure cracked and broke off so we had to go out and search almost an acre of property to find it. We did find it but it is a PAIN to have to go out and search for a collar that you would not expect to break. Recently our English Mastiff has been strolling off the property, she has never done that in the almost year we have had it. First think I did was check the battery and decided to be safe we would change it!! That didn't work so I decided to take off the collar and check it to make sure it worked and it does but there are certain times when it don't. I have it on the highest frequency and I'm hoping this works, I will keep you informed. But us like others are missing the clear caps that cover the button to change the frequency. I don't understand how these pieces can come off unless we take them off, this tells me that there is a malfunction in your manufacturing if we are not the only ones missing these caps!! Then to top it off, you sell these clear caps and expect us to pay for them, something doesn't seem right. If you know these clear caps come off, shouldn't you be trying to fix this issue and offer those caps or free? ​Rich T

These were a life saver. One of the studs came out of our dogs collar and left the unit dangling from the collar and no skin contact. We purchased this repair kit and fixed the collar. The next day our fur baby dashed out of the car door toward the road and her collar stopped her before she ran into traffic. One day earlier we would have lost our fur-baby.martha

Those darn electrodes and plastic pieces!! We've had it 4 months and the metal piece and black plastic piece has come off 4 times!!! I have two dogs and both are on the Stay and Play wireless fence. So far I have replaced the collar strap 3 times in the two months I have had the system. They need the option of a thick collar with solid clasps because while the shock part is great, the collar is a frustrating joke. My dogs have figured out how to break the plastic clasp to get the collar off. Please please give me a better option to keep this on my dogs.Amber A.

We have been looking for a clip-lock collar to thread through our training receiver as our beagle has been able to shake-off a typical buckle collar. We ordered 2 different collars from other companies, explaining what we needed. We had to return both collars as the collars would not accommodate our receiver. I bought this collar about a month ago. I was worried that it wouldn't fit my dog because she weighs about 125 lbs and has an incredibly thick neck. The replacement collar fit her with plenty of room to spare and was inexpensive. Before I looked at the PetSafe website I had looked at Walmart, Petco, Petsmart, Amazon, & Tractor supply… I had a hard time finding a 3/4 inch collar long enough to fit her.Jess903

I have this product to keep my cats from goung out the doggy door and to keep my dogs from jumping on you as soon come thru the front door. It works wonderfully for the dogs. The collars were much to large for the cats, but with a lot of adjustment it did manage to keep 2 out of the 3 cats in. So overall, it works really well.kexuwgj55

We had the system in place for a year or so. We have a stubborn doberman who goes nuts in storms and wants to be by our side rather than stay outside during the day. We set this up to deter the animal from scratching the door etc. At first it worked fine but the dog needed to keep the device collar on all the time or she would know it is not on, test the boundary and start scratching again. Too smart. Then then collar seemed to stop working consistently, replaced the batteries, all seemed fine. then we noticed we needed to replace the batteries far more frequently. then nothing worked. during this time period, the dogs play and run and the collars get trashed. The flimsy plastic collar feed through broke on all the collars, so resorted to duct tape. Eventually it was a mess because the collars stopped working all together. The contacts failed, etc. A more durable collar and more reliable electronics would be a welcome addition to this product…or a less stubborn dog. We have two curious cats who are quite intrigued with the idea of using the doggie door because they see their Great Pyrenees friend go in and out. Outdoors is not a safe place to be, unsupervised. These collars and the sensor disk are lifesavers. Literally.jomama50

I got the stay and play this one goes to the undergound fence but both work great. Ever since i got them i dont have any more problems with the dogs getting out.. And i have 7 dogs. And have are very hard head. I have hounds huskies and other mixed..Doggroomer

I have a pup that is a large breed, he looks like I been feeding him steak and potatoes cause he's so dang big. He is ALL puppy though. Chews on everything loves running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Been trying to train him to chill with me, yeah, right. He wants to play. And because he wants to play, he wants to run every stinkin where. Decided, for my sanity as well as his safety, I'd get this thing. Put the flags out, set it on a low static charge, and it didn't take long before he figured it out. You DO have to WORK a dog with this. It's not just a plug it up and watch their hair shoot up when they get popped. Walked him around the perimeter for 7 days, he sees and sniffs the flags. After that, I let him run around, and he got popped maybe 3 times, and figured it out. Now he's pretty dang happy, and I can let him rip around with zoomies while I work in the yard. I have a 2 yr old LARGE French Mastiff that weighs 180ish! I bought with the (red in color) “stubborn” collar. We previously installed a wired underground fence. (Which I have to mention took 2 FULL DAYS TO INSTALL AND READY TO USE!!) My Bo would realize he was close to the boundary, take a step or two back then take a run right through it, with no second thought!!! We watched him do this several times. I guess he was thinking, well this is going to hurt but only for a few short seconds. Idk?? But it did NOT phase him one bit! I had talked to 4 or 5 people that had this system, so reluctantly I decided to give it a try. I thought to myself well if it doesn’t work I will simply return it, no harm no foul. My boyfriend had it installed and collar on Bo in 30 mins flat. We walked ole hard-headed Bo around maybe 4 times to show him the boundaries. Once he heard the beeping, he kept walking then he felt the shock 1 time and that must have been enough because he never ventured close again! It has been about 2 months of use and I would give it 100 STARS IF IT WAS AN OPTION! We live in a subdivision where houses are fairly close. I was ultimately worried that the zone would lead into the neighboring yard. (which was the #1 thing we are trying to prevent) And although it may, Bo doesn’t even attempt to go that far. I believe he now understands to stay in his own yard! Living in a subdivision, many people take walks and Bo just sits and watches them now!! Matter of fact, just to see, we have sent him outside WITHOUT the collar and ironically enough HE STAYS IN OUR YARD!! The ONLY complaint I have is the small clear piece on the collar broke off the first time I went to adjust the strength of the shock. So far it hasn’t effected anything so fingers crossed on that! Just an FYI, we set ours on a level 3 to begin with and my boyfriend was ready to give up, so I told him to have some patience and we just kept adjusting the level on the collar and we ended up discovering for Bo he needed to be set on a #6. Again, I repeat he weighs 180 lbs, and the Mastiff bread is KNOWN for their stubbornness. I would suggest starting at the lowest level for a smaller dog PLEASE! Whoever has had a problem with PetSafe products? Ok, maybe my dogs do if they sneak out of range setting 6 on the collar will make your dog come off the ground like a bass breaking water setting 4 is definitely enough. I have never had a problem. I have been using PetSafe for at least 15 years. I wired a half acre lot and I just open the door and out my 2 dogs go and I know they are safe. We live in the middle of Dallas. I really like how it has worked over the years except….. Using the 16 ga. wire supplied, I used to get failure in the system. The receiver box would be beeping and not working. I would have to rewire sections of the wire for it to again work properly. This happened 5 or 6 times until I rewired the whole yard perimeter with 14 ga. wire. The system has never gone down since I did this 6 or 7 years ago. I give this a 5 star rating using 14 ga. wire.Lake

This collar works well with our older Instant Fence unit. We purchased it for our small (9lb) 9 month old pup. It fits her well, and is not to big for her. There is plenty of adjustment in the collar for different sized dogs. The battery life is excellent and she has responded well to wearing it in our yard. I only wish that it had an additional mode for a vibration alert as well as sound. It would also be nice to have a louder sound for us people. When training a small dog I had to bend over to try and hear the alert as we approached the boundary. But in the end, as long as the dog hears the sound, that's all that matters. Great way to keep your pet safe in your yard. When I called pet safe for information, the customer service rep. was very helpful in choosing the right collar for our needs. That helped a lot.3 pines

I had bought this a week ago in store. I'm so happy with the progress my dog has already made using this. He used to bolt out the gate but now hes always right by my side, checking in on me and making sure I'm keeping up with him. I've finally been able to loose leash walk him without having to worry about him running off. This has help so much in such a short time! I knew about this product for several weeks, but I delayed in getting it. I thought I'd give the puppy a chance with regular training methods (treats, praise, verbal corrections) before I started futzing with a special collar and have to buy it in two sizes. That was really stupid. I wish I would have bought it sooner and spent the money on the two sizes. I got this one in a size Medium and it fits perfectly with just an easy adjustment of the buckle. Our little man is a Labradoodle, now at about 32 lbs and expected to reach a 60-ish weight probably. He is VERY high energy, very strong and very smart, but our little darling is no longer little and I have been finding myself struggling with his 32 lb self pulling on the walks. I cannot imagine when he is full grown, so I decided finally to nip this in the bud and I ordered the gentle leader. It arrived today and I was amazed at how he has NO power to pull AT ALL. I even noticed that in many situations like when he would normally lunge at something, he didn't, maybe that is just from the novelty and will eventually wear off, but for today, it was as if he had a total attitude adjustment. It was like magic. He is none too pleased about the new situation, for sure, but I am pleased as punch. Will take a few days of working with him to get used to it so he stops trying to pull it down with his paws, but even when he was trying he couldn't get it off successfully unless I let off on the tension to the leash altogether which I was able to correct for easily enough. I have an 18 month old standard poodle. I’ve had her since 9 weeks old. She’s full of energy and gets super excited. I’ve trained her well on a typical lead but I was having issues controlling her when she would get excited by people and animals. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists, I have shoulder problems as well. Every time I walked her I’d be in so much pain trying to pull her back. A service dog trainer suggested the gentle leader to me and it’s totally changed I no longer have the shoulder and back pain from pulling her back. I looked long and hard to find a replacement flap for an older dog door. My aunt bought a house 8 years ago that a pretty decrepit dog door. The flap was in tatters or just missing chunks. The customer service representative worked extra hard to help me find this classic flap that is the closest fit currently on the market. To my family’s amazement it actually fit into the upper channel that holds the flap in place. The only problem is that it is about half an inch short. The flap is the correct length, but the protrusions that slide into the channel that secure it are half an inch lower than the original flap. We are using some heavy painters tape to make up the difference in length for now, but otherwise it fits great. With outside temperatures in the low twenties and teens the flap has been a blessing. That whole area around the pet door is much warmer and the cold breezes are gone.Carolyn S

Replacement for the pet door we had gotten used.Easily to replace. The only thing is if this is for a cat, the magnets are a bit on the strong side. Probably not an issue for dogs (we don't have any dogs). For cats, pushing through with their delicate faces and then dropping on their long tails on the way out is obviously not comfortable. A quick and easy fix – put some thin masking tape on the magnets – they still work but not so aggressively. Other than that is a great door and appreciate an easy replacement part.Brewstout

I've used these for years and they work really great. I really like the adjustable level of correction as you can set it high when the dog is new to the conditions of operation since even though you train them before putting into use they always test it a couple times before they get the message. Once they have gotten accumstomed you can turn down the zap so it's just a reminder if they get a little over-excited about something. Only thing that can be improved is a more robust means of holding the two halves together since the edges of the receiver get scaped on the ground when the dog is lying down and this over time erodes the corners where the screws are located and wear away exposing the screws and the female screw receptor until eventually the two outer screws cut away completely and only the two inner screws are holding the two halves together. Hence the 4 stars otherwise I would give this device 5 stars.stanleytempro

This collar is great for dogs who refuse to stay inside an in-ground fenced area. It sometimes takes a couple of experiences but then, they usually stay put after that. I do have two complaints, however. The strap is too small for such a big unit. I always buy a 1" strap and transfer the RF-275 to the new strap. It's pretty heavy for the small strap provided. Secondly, IF I was designing the insides, I would modify the battery terminal. This is my 4th collar to buy (for 2 different dogs), and wires into the circuit board on 2 of the collars have broken off. You can't solder them back because they are embedded in silicon. I'm careful with the battery connector and STILL broke one off. The other just failed at the battery terminal and my replacement worked loose inside the unit over time.kn4tx1

This product worked great for the first couple of weeks and now it may shock them as they cross and it may not depending on what day of the week it is. The guide says once they cross the line it will shock them for 30 seconds until they return but it does not. It only shocks when they cross it. It also says it will not shock them when they cross back into the border. It still does if it decides to work that day. I would not suggest buying the systemDissatisfied Dog owner

We've used these for years. Plan on replacing once a year. The seals often fail and they get wet inside from rain. Make sure you take them off at night or your dogs neck will get hot spots. The standard 9v battery is easily replaceable and economical, but it makes the box very large. If you have chewers, they will tear the boxes off of each others collars.rbeachylife

Doesnt fit a 3/4" shock box be careful. Cut to size. You don't need another adjuster for the collar length. This collar is just a replacement for a shock collar collar(not a regular walking collar although you could use ot for that if you really wanted) so it has to be flat with no buckles to fit through the shock box. Works fine on a 1" SportDog shock box.Doowllams
