I have an adopted fur-baby that had a lot of control and behavior issues. Training, the usual way was just not working. I tried this and, within one day, the disruptive behavior (running and tearing up things in the house, jumping from one piece of furniture to another, non-stop barking) all stopped. He began with sitting, immediately after only two "vibrations" of the collar. By the end of the week, all I had to do was take out the remote control, say the words of sit, stay, no and wait, and he did so. Now, I don't have to use the remote at all but just say the words. I will tell you that, under no circumstances would I recommend the "shock" feature. Because it is easily changed on this model, by accident, I found out, the hard way just how much it hurts the animal. If you click MODE, by accident, from it being on vibrate, it switches over to Shock. BE VERY CAREFUL when you are about to use the Y button, for sound or vibration as, if it's on shock–and this was the very low setting–the dog whelps loudly and jumps, shakes, etc. I would not recommend it for any animal lover as, I don't even want to know what it feels like. Because the vibration is strong, even on low settings, and the other setting of "beep" is a high frequency sound, I found them the most effective. Thebeep sound is for Guiness (my new family member) to come–I use the vibration for correction, when needed. Guiness was the most difficult dog that I have worked with and I have behavioral training for dogs, which I have used for all of my pets. If this worked on him, it will work on most dogs that have behavioral issues. I would recommend it for the vibration and sound settings–and hope to get one that doesn't have the shock setting as, I feel that is just inhumane to use on a dog (my opinion after seeing how he reacted, on just a low setting). PLEASE USE CAREFULLY until you are used to the remote. That is my only advice when purchasing this for training.kelly4jesus
I am, so far, very happy with the design of the collar and remote handset. I especially like that you can do either vibrate OR static corrections with this set, AND can adjust the level of stimulation, immediately, for each. My only complaint is that the slide on clip is NOT useful. It does not grab either a collar, belt, or pocket, to any real degree. It slips off easily and drops to the ground, to be either lost or damaged. It would be better to design a stronger spring clip or clamp that is stronger. Because it continues to fall from where it is clipped, I am forced to hold it in my hand continually. Giving the dog a visual cue that I have control handy. It is more useful for the dog no not be able to connect such an association. Putting it in my pocket results in a possible inadvertent correction to the dog unnecessarily. Although I like many aspects of this product, and being a professional dog trainer, it would be nice to be able to recommend an affordable, good quality product. But because of the handset clip, I hesitate to do so. If this design was addressed, I would recommend it.dpcclm
My dog used to jump on anyone that came over and she was hard headed about listening. Been using for about a month now and have only shocked her once (on level 2) and now she listen with or with out wearing collar. We still put it on her every day and especially if company is coming over, but she knows when she hears the beep she's gone to far in pushing her luck. Most of time beep gets back in line and if not vibrate does. Can't beleave we waited so long to get one. Now friends and family can come over again and we don't worry about her jumping up on our guest particularly little kids. We put it on her in the morning and take it off before bed time and turn collar off at night and battery will last almost 2 weeks on collar before charging (wonted to see how long battery would last between charges) , Generally now we charge it once a week over night and haven't had it die yet while she's been wearing it. Can't say how water proof it is at this point haven't allowed her in the water with it yet. Only complaint is as others have stated it's easy to change channels on transmitter if your not paying attention. But have gotten used to looking at transmitter before pushing button. Besides If your going from Beep to vibrate your gonna wanna see what you have it set to before you use transmitter again, so I don't find it that big of a deal.jnmpatterson4

The collar has some pretty big (1") sensor probes that look not so comfortable on the neck, probably necessary for the deterrent. The on/off is pretty sensitive to get it on, you need a dime or something to turn on/off which is good so when the dog wears it the normal movements won't accidentally turn it off. That being said, it is necessary to move it around to the exact position and confirm green light that it is on. You can't just turn it to the word ON, it may need to be ever so slightly adjusted a fraction one way or the other to make sure it is on. Our particular experience seemed to work well on our dog, it only took a couple of times of it vibrating to startle our dog and get her to realize that it was because she barked. It didn't seem to vibrate on growling only barking and we had it pretty tight and her hair is short. It would not be something you would want to leave on your dog forever because I am sure the probes in the neck are not so comfortable for the dog. Overall my dog has reduced her barking about 90% even without the collar on. If she has a particular barking episode on our lanai we put the collar back on for a while and she figures it out. She does seem pretty sad with it on but she is learning quickly and hopefully it won't be for long. The vibration doesn't seem to hurt her, just startle her and that does the job. I think the results could really vary from dog to dog and maybe the breed tendencies play into it. For the investment and result WE got it was well worth it to have less barking here in Hawaii and that peace for us and our neighbors.SDaymon
I tried the bird house bark control device with disastrous results (see my review). I needed something, because my outside, extremely nervous, submissive dog barks incessantly. A harsh word, and she reacts as if she's been struck, which she never is. She flinched with sudden moves. This led me to be extremely cautious when seeking a bark control collar. I discussed it with my vet, and we decided that due to her personality, a vibration collar would probably be the best choice. It has been fantastic! She instantly associated the vibration with her bark. She hardly ever barks now, even when her brother does. The best part? No bad side effects! She's not even scared of the collar! I remove it at night when I lock them in their air conditioned garage, and in the morning when I put it on she reacts as if I'm putting on any old collar. I love this collar! The vibrate feature is nice, so I can alert him without hurting him. Start with the beep feature, then, if no response, use the vibrate, then, if no response, the shock. Once you make it up to the shock, they'll typically respond to just the beep in the future, since they know what comes after the beep. I almost NEVER have to shock him, because he responds to the beep very well. I felt guilty buying a shock collar at first, but now that I know I don't really use that feature, I feel better about it. Also, my dog behaves better, in general, when he has his collar on, because he knows I "have the power". He's a 70-lb Doberman mix who enjoys being off-leash and with this collar, we can do that a lot more often. 🙂sonicsarah
This is a great training tool! You mostly just need the beeping function as they learn pretty quickly that that means to quit barking. If you have a really stubborn dog, it only takes one shock to teach them the consequences of ignoring the beep. The shock level is adjustable, so you can make it as low or as high as needed for your dog. This collar recharges quickly and lasts a long time between charges. I have a toy breed rescue who was probably put up for adoption because of barking. I’ve had a lot of dogs over the years but holy moly this one is noisy! She barks at everything or nothing, and once she starts she won’t stop. Barks herself into a frenzy, racing back and forth, makes screaming sounds, it’s horrible. She’ll keep going for 30 minutes if nothing distracts her from the bark-frenzy. Training and calming techniques that have worked with all my other dogs (including several older rescues) didn’t work for her. And I don’t want to medicate her. disappointed. Its a poor design. The rounded part (NOT the part against the dogs neck) is what really vibrates. My dog (35lb spaniel) doesn't seem to feel it! I live in an older building and the walls are very thin! All dogs bark but I didn't want howling or nuisance barking disturbing everyone. I tried other spray collars but I would come home to a wet dog. He quickly figured this one out and learned not to bark excessively. It steps up the stimulation as the barking continues. I have a 9 month old puppy who is barking non stop a couple times a day. I found the Premier Pet Bark Collar and thought this might be the trick. I am glad I did so far we have reduced these barking times to shorter times and less often. We do not leave the collar on all the time but do put it on when he starts the barking. He knows the minute we get the collar out what is going on and stops barking but we put on the collar to reinforce the good behavior. Our goal is to not need the collar after a month or so. Perfect! So I got this for only 1 reason to grab my dogs attention. He hates my neighbor dog that we share a chain link fence with. My poor neighbor even tried putting a privacy tarp thinking that’d work…it didn’t. They will fight through the fence non-stop and shouting at them doesn’t work either. So I bought this collar because it has a bell option and knowing my dog that’d be enough to get him to listen, it does btw! I only turn it on and put it on him when he’s outside so I haven’t had to charge anything yet but it is rechargeable. I like that it can fit my 65 lbs dog and also my 28lbs dog. The bell, vibrate, and shock options have 5 levels for each one. Level 5 bell works for one of my dogs and level 3 shock works for the other. All in all I love it. I was about to spend $2400 to send my dog to obedience school, and decided to give this product a try first, not convinced it would be effective. I love everything about this collar! First off the packaging is amazing and it showed up a few days earlier than anticipated. Its not over packaged (which can be annoying) and I was able to open it easily without requiring tools to do so. Less is more. It came with instructions that made assembling it a breeze. It has 3 main pieces that are essential, the "block", the collar and the remote. The best part it was ALREADY charged and ready to go. The collar itself is a leather texture and blends in with my pups fur color. It took just a few minutes to figure out the settings. It works for two dogs (so you can buy a second collar and use the same remote) which seemed like a great feature I didn't read about before buying. 10/10 would buy it again! 🙂 Oh and its comfortable enough to sleep in, his old collar was uncomfortable for him… Picture proof that he is well relaxed and falls asleep before I am able to take it off of him almost nightly. This product has been AWESOME for our 6 lb and 8 lb chihuahuas! We do not use the shock function. The noise and vibrate options are sufficient for recall as well as correction when they are barking! LOVE having one device to control both. Previously, we had 2 remotes for 2 e-collars. We have found this to be a humane way to encourage the behavior we want to see. I have a couple items from Patpet already and have had great experiences with them and their customer service. I needed a two dog system, so decided to get this one. I do like how small the receivers are on this. My dog who is scared of everything likes this one better than the larger one we have. Also, my 100 lb dog is responding well to it, and she is quite stubborn and is very good at ignoring things. The beep feature on this one seems to get her attention a lot better than some others. I only wish it had a lanyard on the remote, or at least a place to add one.nicole
These collars work great! One controller for two collars is so handy. Our dogs learned very quickly to stop barking if we just beep their collars. It really distracts them from what they are barking about. I like that I get to control the collar, rather than the noise activated type. That way it can be used to correct them when they are doing something other than just barking, such as jumping up on someone or trying to steal the other dog’s toy. Worked great on my 100lb Great Dane/Shepherd mix. He was a shelter rescue and did not walk well on leash and chased cats. He was literally not walkable. A few days of using beep and vibrate I was able to walk him around the yard. A week later my 8 year old could walk him around the yard and pass the cat. (we reserved shock in case he didn’t respond to beep or vibrate…he responded very well and we didn’t need the shock) This collar worked great at correcting pulling, discouraging chase, and teaching come. My dog will now stop, come, and heel at the sound of a beep (without collar on) It was a great tool for a different full grown dog. I really like mine. I have a Pitbull Chocolate Lab mix and a Australian Shepherd Black Lab mix. They both listen so much better with these. Great training tool! I bought one in orange and one in black. I prefer not to use the shock part but it certainly works cause as I was testing them out I accidentally shocked myself!! So it works! But I will be using the buzzing and sound on my dogs. That works great as well! So far so good ! My dogs seems to stop whatever bad behavior they are doing when I make them buzz! This is the first bark collar I purchased. I was very skeptical at first that it would work for my dog, but it works like a charm! My wife and I both work from home over the phone in a quiet neighborhood, but when there's people passing in front of our house, our dog barks like he has to defend his territory with his own life. It was very frustrating and embarrassing for everyone so I got this collar. It worked on the first day! He now learned that he has to stop on the first beep before he gets shocked. Now we can both work normally and he is even calmer knowing that he doesn't have to scare people passing by. The battery life is awesome too, I just recharged it once and it has been more than a week of daily use during the day. I wish I had buy this sooner.
We have purchased a slew of different bark deterrents over the last year and a half. From solar spikes in the ground that strobe to white bird houses that flash red and green. Nothing really worked until this collar. Don't want to sound like some cliche but finally found this collar. It doesn't shock just vibrates and sounds off a beep and our dog that barked unhinged now has completely changed his behavior. We only put it on him when he goes out back because he kinda looks a little bummed out if he has it on too long. When he's not wearing it we put it in the charger. You want the metal ends on his fur to work without a hitch. I feel like this is one of those Norelco I loved the product so much I bought the company moments. It's transformed our 70 pound dogs behavior as far as the barking. Not into long reviews but thought we'd share our experience for those at the beginning of the 'what to do' about our insanely barking dog.

I have two smaller beagle/lab mix who will find a scent and GO! These collars are great, they came already paired with a minimal charge.These collars are rechargeable so you don’t have to mess with batteries, and they transmit farther than any of our other collars. My dogs all I need is the beep and the vibration options but it does have a shock option as well and the vibration and shock are adjustable.
