I had high hopes for this collar as my older dog has a chronic condition and we are all very tired of his cone bumping into all of us and the whole house, and so is he. But, despite measuring and it appearing to fit exactly as described in the instructions, he had NO TROUBLE getting to the growth on his underside. Complete waste of time and money. He may as well be wearing a sock. We tightened everything to the point of it being uncomfortable for the dog and still he just reaches around like its nothing. The Canny Collar is the best dog training tool you can buy. It's safe and gentle for your dog, and it's simple and easy for the owner. It's a little more expensive than other types of "halter collars," but its features and design makes it worth a few extra dollars. Most halter collars lead from underneath the dog's mouth; the Canny Collar lets you lead and direct from the back of the head, like a typical leash. We have used it recently on two dogs — a 5 mo old Border Collie and a 1 year old German Shephard. The results were amazing. Walks and training have become much more enjoyable for the dogs and their humans. Not all dogs take to it immediately, but in our case, it was only a few blocks before they settled in. Oh my goodness! I am just about to purchase a Canny collar from VetnPet after borrowing a friend's to trial. We both have Dobermans, both pull like crazy and consequently we both have sore left shoulders. After 4 walks on the Canny collar my Dobe is a breeze to walk. Before the Canny, my arm was ALWAYS extended whereas now I have NOT had to extend my arm once. It is as if my Dobe is stuck on my left knee. The past 4 walks have been so enjoyable and easy we are walking an extra half to one hour each morning. Cannot believe the difference. Another advantage using a Canny is all the control is from the back of the head/neck and not to the side like some haltis. This is far better for Dobermans and other long necked dogs who are prone to neck alignment damage.Sue
Nice collar, good quality webbing and buckle. I do not find it as easy as shown to wrap the loose webbing around my dogs neck , when letting my dog run free, only because I find the clips fiddly and have to put my glasses on. In theory it sounds good but I have a persistant pulling springer and it doesn't'work on her like the videos I've watched. She doesn't mind the band across her nose as she has previously worn a halti, although sometimes she manages to get it off. I've looked up about persistent pulling whilst using the canny collar and I'm now trying the long lead and turn method. I feel more in control by holding the head but it doesn't stop pulling instantly . I think with my dog this is going to take time and patience to crack this. I can't say whether I would recommend this collar, as it hasn't worked for me as shown yet.chelle53

There is no safer collar than Premier's Martingale to use on new dogs in our rescue or for dogs going on a transport. I will not ship a dog on any transport without this collar. Traveling is stressful, even going to the vet is stressful for a country dog who finds itself in traffic after a ride in a strange vehicle. Regular collars often slip off the necks and heads of a frantic dog. This collar will not! When I get in new strays who don't have a clue what a collar is I can't risk them getting loose. Again, I depend on this collar for control and for the dog's safety. When I taught dog obedience in the Public sector, the Martingale and the Gentle Leader were the collars I sold to my students and they quickly had their dogs in control and training was swift while the dogs' neck's were protected. I have used the Premier Martingale since 2000. It is my basic collar of choice. Regular collars: I don't feel safe using them.
The functional design of this collar is beyond superior. However, it also has a feature (or lack thereof depending on how you look at it) that is extremely important to me that most people likely don't think about…..the amount of metal that comes in contact with my dog. You see, I live in AZ where the heat is extreme four months a year, even in the shade. When you can't wear sandals or sunglasses with any metal design features, hanging earrings that may brush your neck, and are always conscience of how close your bare leg is to those keys hanging from the ignition…….one thinks twice about what one puts around the beloved pet's neck (and paws). I want to give these a 5 star but I can’t for a few reasons. Pros and cons below… Pros: – quick shipping – overall quality is great, but what it’s made out of is not good; explained below. Cons: – product has rubbed my chocolate labs neck raw to the point of him having to be put on antibiotics. I’m not sure if it’s what the collar is made of, but it was bad. The collar was on loose, not tight, and my dog has not been in water due to the winter (so it’s not like this has something to do with it). So I absolutely love this collar – it has been great for my dog in that is doesn't rub or cause any issues for him. However, the sizing is a bit tough for me. I originally bought the collar in an XL and exchanged it for a L, but between the last two holes (making it the largest possible) I wish there was one more in the middle because the last hole is too loose on him when we are walking, but then the second to last is too tight when he is laying down/relaxed. Other than that, this is absolutely perfect!
The first thing I noticed when I unboxed this collar was how soft and supple the material is—perfect for snuggling and probably very comfortable for my pup! It seems well-made and is definitely well-designed, love the little touch of the "W" mark on the end. The color is CRAZY bright, almost dayglo, and looks great on my brown brindle pittie, it would really stand out on a black dog too. My single caveat with this collar is that it is too soft and flexible to restrain my dog securely, so we just use it to hold his ID tags (we always use a harness on walks anyway). I'd definitely recommend the collar and will probably end up buying some other colors to accessorize!Sam S.
Anyone that have dogs know that they chew on anything. But this Wild One collar is definitely not designed for dogs. Within 2 days, my dog has chewed it up. My other nylon collars were also chewed by my dog but it usually takes months for it to show the severity of damage. The material also feels cheap. Like generic iPhone cases you can find anywhere. Very subpar. Their customer support was also somewhat useless. Basically they say this is part of wear and tear. I understand wear and tear but 2 days? The pup in question is quite young, and currently can't fit the collar as it is way too big for him- but don't worry! This is according to plan! The different light modes are really nice, and we use it every day (especially handy in the winter when both morning and evening walks are in the dark!). Super easy to turn on & off, and to charge with the USB cord. It is NOT waterproof, but will tolerate rain and other water as long as it isn't submerged.
