Works well, as an add-on to the main system.Joyce
This collar system works very well. I have 2 dogs and use one black and one blue collar. Simple controls. Pairing is easy. Recharging is simple. The collars hold up well for Midwest upland bird hunting where an occasional swim is not uncommon, so water is no issue. I mostly use the tone mode, but it’s nice to have vibration and shock as backup. I would highly recommend this product and also recommend learning the correct way to use it.Joe

Reviews:
I bought the XC Bundle for training my 10 month old Drahthaar after I was disappointed with another brand…I love Cabela's Customer service and return polices, no issues retiring the previous product. I won't mention the other brand but wished I had went with Garmin from the beginning. I find it hard to believe the negative reviews on this product after my experience with it this winter. I've had no issues with battery life in the collar or handheld…its actually surprised me with how will its performed in cold weather and direct water contact training my dog in Lake Ontario,…the 1/2 mile range is more then enough for both training and field work. The control buttons are excellent, don't be fooled by guys saying dial buttons are better, this handheld is well built and very nice to carry and I've never accidentally changed settings, and you can work the buttons with light gloves easily. The contact points are great…the long version is perfect for my dogs dense wire coat. I honestly do not have a negative thing to say about this purchase..if you do not need the bark control feature the Delta XC will do everything you need it to. Don't hesitate buying this productDogDown
Bought the Delta XC couple of years ago and had no luck getting my stubborn dog to respond. Finally out of frustration I hired a qualified trainer to get this dog’s reactive aggression under control. Told the trainer that I had one of these after the first session where the dog was not giving into our will. Trainer took the time to educate how it works and why. Helped us set it up and we began using this as a tool to get compliance. It really hasn’t taken long to get the dog to understand the command, the mild correction (2-4 setting), and the treat or no treat for compliance. The dog is by no means perfect, but barking can now be controlled with command and either tone or small correction. Dog recall is much improved as before the dog would not come when called. Now, call once. If no response, call a 2nd time and add a minor correction and the dog returns to me immediately. Thanks Bob
We’ve been using our Garmin Delta Sport XC for quite some time now, and it’s been working pretty much flawlessly. Sometimes our GSP reacts more, as though she’s more sensitive to the static signal, but then she’s a stubborn dog that *wants* a stronger signal than most dogs. She usually responds best at 13-High. (She’s trained to the collar as a signal for the most part, not so much as a “correction.”) The dogs wear their collars every day from wake-til-bed without issue. The remote’s signal strength seems to be at least 1/2-mile through heavily wooded terrain, so it’s lived up to our expectations.Joyce

Reviews:
This is the only collar that has worked for our Bichon/Shitzu. We have tried so many different things/collars to get her to stop barking but nothing has worked. This one did. Worth every penny. My dog is very tiny, 9 lbs, so I don't know how it works on bigger dogs but it works great for my dog. We have not really used it for training but mostly to control her barking. Works great.Octavia
Range sucks… Doesn't pair well with devices… Battery life sucks… Keep away sensor doesn't work well or at all. Every time you want to use the button on the app to correct the dog you have to open the app and wait while it tries to find the collar… So by the time it works the dog isn't doing what you wanted to correct anyway. I have R.A.P.T brand and they are awesome and reliable. Don't buy this piece of gsrbageDpop
Bought this right away because I really liked the ideas behind the collar but the technology is lacking. I have a 90 pound German shepherd so read the review through that lense. My dog is also very well behaved/trained. I bought the collar to teach off leash better, to establish zone around me. I took him to park and put it on level 1 tried it nothing. Long story short I went 2 nothing, 3 holding stim .. Nothing all the way to 7 outta ten still nothing happy as can be. I must have held/ pressed it 100 times and nothing. Then I bumped it to 8 and he basically jumped 8 feet in air. So I'm like what the heck. I take the collar and put it on myself. One nothing and all the way to 7 at the park and nothing so I thought okay this thing is broken. Took it home and in the quiet of my house put it on myself again. 1 nothing 2 and I could fell like a warming. All the way to 7 and it like a warming kind of burning. Then 8 I got full muscle cramps. I haven't used many collar but one brand called Einstein I have used on myself and the technology is way better. Goes from 1-100 and on one I feel a smooth electricity. Its not a shock with that collar its more prickle. So to rap it up I'll be returning this one and buying an Einstein. Hope this helps anyone who wants to know more about the collar.Dog training

It works as advertised. Range is adequate and plenty of options for level of correction. Read the Owners Manual. Easy to get lost in the options and get the wrong correction type and/or level. Requires as much training for the operator as the pet. Still, a very good training tool.raleigsnyde-0
I was sceptical of this system since tri tronics was bought by Garmin. I've owned tri tronics units in the past and they were indestructible. To my surprise this new Garmin unit is as good as the old tritronics. The battery life is great and I like ease of the remote. Tone and vibration in one unit is a plus. Only used this unit in the yard and not afeild yet, where there are more obstacles to interfere with reception.mmar6363
This is my first electronic training. I love the vibration mode. You can use shock for more discipline.doorman20

Reviews:
Garmin is known for great value and they don't fall short with the PT10 add-on collar for the PRO70, PRO550 or the SportPRO I have the Pro550 and I use all three functions, the tone, the vibrate and the stimulus while training and my dogs respond to each one in the manner I want. The ability to switch between the modes and to adjust the strength of stimulus when using it is extremely valuable. Trust the Garmin name and you won't be sorry.starr***
I purchased this collar to go with the Garmin Pro 550. The system is of the highest quality, used by professional dog trainers who only want the best. Easy to pair with my existing transmitter and works exactly as intended. The only negative point I can make is the lack of colors. I have three hunting dogs, and my transmitter will work simultaneously with three collars. My transmitter has a color coded toggle in Red, Black and Blue to chose the dog that needs some encouragement. My transmitter came with a black collar, therefore, I just needed to buy a red and blue collar and all would be well in the world. Cabela's only sells this collar in Red! Great! One down, one to go. That is when I discovered that Cabela's only sells a "Red" additional collar when Garmin offers about ten different colors. Since Cabela's does not offer the Blue collar, I am forced to purchase the blue collar somewhere else. Come on Cabela's, didn't your guys notice the Red, Black and Blue color scheme on the Garmin's you sell? That is my only gripe on an outstanding collar!!AugustaDonster

Product initially worked well. Combination of tone, vibration, and shock works well for training. My golden retriever responded well. Unfortunately the second time I went to charge the collar, the connection between the collar and the charger would not make contact. I chatted with cabelas and asked if they could send me a new charger dongle and they said I wanted that option I would need to work directly with Garmin. They gave me the option to return by mail, but I didn't want to be without the collar for that long. Instead I drove to the store to exchange it but they did not have the model available in the store. I returned it at the store and ordered a replacement on line. Once the replacement arrives, I am hoping I just got a lemon.Renegade08
I bought this collar about a year ago, and it is still just as effective and powerful today. This has all of the capabilities I need for training and enjoying my time with my dog. With the multi-collar functionality, it’s also great for people who own multiple dogs as you would just need a new collar and program it to a different color code switch. My dog can go swimming, get dirty, muddy, get hosed off, and the collar still works like a charm. I am extremely impressed. The handheld remote also floats (I fell into the lake once with it, and it floated just fine) For anyone looking for a durable and functional collar that will last forever, this is it.Skeet999
We bought this a couple months ago! Best investment we ever made! Our dog doesn't like the neighbours dog and would bark like crazy every time he was out in the yard. put the ecollar on him and only had to use the shock button a couple times and it stopped the bad behaviour in its tracks! Love it! The only thing I noticed was the collar became unpaired from the remote after we took him to the lake to swim. But it was very easy to pair up again, just by reading the instructions in the manual. Very happy with this purchase.jackflash72

I am not a hunter but I bought this collar to help me keep track of my Golden Retriever. I have 100 acres of land that we play on. She like to chase deer and other animals. I just want to make sure I can always find her. So far this system is great. I use the rechargeable batteries in the Astro 430. It does seem to eat thru the power faster than I would like. I just keep a spare set of batteries on me and it also came with a 12 volt plug. So I may start using the 12 volt charging cable to help extend the handhelds life. The collar seems to last a lot longer than the handheld. Which is good since it has built in rechargeable batteries. The collar last all day and still shows about 3/4 full on battery life.pilot-767

Great buy for us. Husband loves it.Dawn H
I purchased the Garmin/Tritronics Pro 70 first. I was totally unsatisfied with it! I realize we have some hilly terrain in WV. But this thing would not reach approximately 500 yards (maximum) behind one house, on a slope. I returned it. It was virtually worthless…unless you wanted to train a dog on chasing cars! Then purchased the Pro Trashbreaker. It reaches as far as 2 miles, in WV terrain. Have not actually used it with a dog as of yet. But, have checked to make sure it actually has a useful range for hunting dogs. I would buy the Pro Trashbreaker again! Outdoor Dog Supply is very nice to deal with! Excellent service! Quick to respond!Jack

I bought this approximately two months ago and have not been particularly pleased with it. I find the buttons and the display unwieldly and very small making them difficult to see. The instruction manual that comes with the product does not explain the use of each of the features, meaning you have to try and navigate through Garmin's whole system to try and find a more helpful manual. Within a month the antennae fell off of the handheld device somewhere on a hike, to never be found again. When I contacted Garmin, I was told that the antennas don't fall off. Given that mine is missing, it seemed an odd thing to claim. They then told me I could purchase another one from their website – which as far as I can tell, you can't. The handheld device is by far the biggest issue though – it is not rechargable (how is that even possible?!?!?) and sucks up batteries like there's no tomorrow. In two months I have spent $40 on batteries. Regular batteries are basically pointless and lithium ones only last for about three weeks of use (2 hours a day x 3 days a week). If I had any idea that this was going to cost me SO MUCH extra money in addition to the already expensive price tag, I would definitely have purchased a different system. While the system has many neat features and does exactly what it is supposed to do (find my dog), I overall am highly dissatisfied with this purchase.Jen11
I read in a couple of notes about the battery life; yes it can be using a lot of batteries, but I switched rechargeable batteries and now this issue is in the past. The only issue I really have is that the whole handheld unit feels like 1990! At this price point you would expect a bigger detailed display, that shows you crisp images, but that is a no-go! Does it do the job in locating your dog, absolutely! Can even track it on my Tactix watch!4PAWSHFX

Charge the collar prior to using on your dog. Follow instructions included with the unit. Easy setup. My dog, a Plott hound who is quite vocal, learned to stop barking using the auto rise setting. Bark odometer nice feature to determine how often the unit provides correction. Noted less corrections the more Jax wore the collar. May try just vibration setting when corrections minimal. BarkLimiter Deluxe rocks! Works!Mark S
This is an amazing product as long as it is used properly with verbal training. Two of my dogs were trained with these by a professional trainer. He advised me to train the rest of my dogs with them and have them on hand so my dogs wouldn't regress. Basically all I have to do is tell them (I have 4 hunting dogs) to quiet down and show them the collars now and immediately then listen. If not I put them on, but that is rare and only if there are rabbits outside they want to get at. When I started training I started with verbal command and then put the collar on when they wouldn't listen. Rarely did they need more than vibration to stop. It took a total of 3 weeks to train them to listen to verbal commands. When you have 4 dogs in the house it's important be able to have control. This product helps achieve that!jennifer.c
I assume this collar works. However, I believe my dog has learned from past collars that a shake of the head will move the tightest collar just far enough off center to lessen the shock. Either that or he just sucks it up and keeps barking. I've turned it up to the highest and it only reduces his barking by maybe 5% . It blinks and registers the correction, but apparently he's not suffering enough to quit all together. So I am not sure if the problem is him or the collar. I would suggest the vendor change the collar to add a non slip material instead of the slick shiny stuff they currently use. That might stop the "shake off".ShellyB
