I have owned a lot of equipment over the years for my 4 legged friends, all from various manufacturers. I can honestly say the Ruffwear brand are probably the best I have used. Strong and well made with quality hardware. I particularly like the seperate dog tag mounting point and rubber disc to cushion the tag. This means no more rattling of metal against metal as my dog walks and plays. It has to be more pleasurable for the dog too, considering their highly tuned hearing. The item itself is mediocre at best. . It’s an overpriced collar with a plastic clip. There was a time when I really enjoyed your products. Now I have to sacrifice quality for the esthetic color that I want. . I would have much preferred and would even pay the up charge to have the color I chose with the metal buckle. I do a lot of hiking and backpacking with my pup and when he’s excited (which is often) I now have a concern for the durability of his collar AND his harness. I doubt I’ll be purchasing ruffwear again anytime soon and to get a quality product you will have to pay a lot more and also sacrifice in the esthetic department.Zach H.

I purchased this collar maybe 3 months ago and the buckle now pops open when my dog pulls on his collar, whether it be on his leash when he sees a squirrel or at the vet while they are just holding him into place. My dog is 55lbs and barely pulls on his leash, only when he sees small animals. Not impressed the buckle! I purchased this collar or one very similar for my dog last year and it ended up rubbing off his hair on his neck area and leaving an irritated raw patch. As a pet owner I was very concerned sense the collar wasn't very tight at all, I don't want this happening to anyone else's baby. I did reach out to Carhartt to inform them of this defect and they seemed concerned and offered to replace it with a better collar. They ended up not replacing it and continued to give us the run around. We also did send photos in to show how harmful it was. Stylish and good-looking collar. Unfortunately, it's not as durable as we had hoped. The buckle/clasp is half plastic and half metal which causes it to fail over time. Ours worked great for a little over a year on our 45 pound hound, and then began to fail if our dog applied tension to it against his leash which would cause it to fall off of him. Looks nothing like the photo. The actual collar you receive has an extremely faded out version of the skulls…they look grayish black instead of white. They look blurry and not sharp, you can barely tell they’re even skulls! The colors are NOT vibrant at all. Wish I could attach a photo….complete bait-and-switch. I ordered this product simply for its looks, and am pleased that it looks and functions great as an indoor collar. We have another fur saver collar for training and walks that gives us more control. Our dog is large and strong and if he pulls a few times, this collar loosens, as the material is slick. I gave this color five stars because it functions exactly as I need it to. It is soft and comfortable for being around the house and Can be worn in conjunction with his training collar.JSorrells

I have this on my 90# Black Lab and its great. The whole collar is made very well of strong materials, and I love the metal clasp. The collar material itself will wear over time, but in a way that you would expect quality outdoor gear to weather. It shows wear, but cosmetic only. It is otherwise intact and remains strong. This is a nice collar. I have seen other nylon collars sell for more money and they are not nearly as well made as this one.The gunmetal finish is a nice touch. I like that the buckle is metal instead of plastic. The leash ring is set in rubber and adjusts around the collar. The rubber keeps it where you want it so readjustment is not neccessary. The separate tag loop is also a good idea. I am unable to comment on it's durability since it is a recent purchase.Reflectivity was just a bonus feature for me so this collar is adequate. If you are looking for a collar that "lights up the night" then then you would be better served purchasing another product made with more reflective material or a lighted leash/collar. I wanted a sturdy, well made and good looking nylon collar. So far, this product has met my requirements.Anonymous
This is a sharp looking collar that seems well made; I like that it has two separate rings for tags and leash attachment, and I like its reflective stripe. It has never come undone unintentionally. It is easily adjustable and stays where you put it. The buckle, while less bulky than some plastic ones, is still something that I wish would not be so intrusive.B.

Roxy loves her new collar. I wanted something simple and subtle. The collar is a nice colour. Roxy is quite light in colour so it suits her perfectly. I would say to go up in size though.
