Unfortunately the second time I went to charge the collar, the connection between the collar and the charger would not make contact. I chatted with cabelas and asked if they could send me a new charger dongle and they said I wanted that option I would need to work directly with Garmin. They gave me the option to return by mail, but I didn't want to be without the collar for that long. Instead I drove to the store to exchange it but they did not have the model available in the store. I returned it at the store and ordered a replacement on line. I bought this collar about a year ago, and it is still just as effective and powerful today. This has all of the capabilities I need for training and enjoying my time with my dog. With the multi-collar functionality, it’s also great for people who own multiple dogs as you would just need a new collar and program it to a different color code switch. We bought this a couple months ago! Best investment we ever made! Our dog doesn't like the neighbours dog and would bark like crazy every time he was out in the yard. put the ecollar on him and only had to use the shock button a couple times and it stopped the bad behaviour in its tracks! These collars work great with a little bit of time and training. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. My lab Ivy loves to run and explore on the trails by our house, but when we get near the end of our "walk", she has a tendency to continue ahead of me and wander the neighborhood. She responded immediately to one of the lower shock settings on the collar the first time I used it. After that, no shock was needed. Now she just needs to have the collar on to stay close by – occasionally she gets distracted and does not come immediately when called, but with the "beep", she immediately comes. We have only used the shock that one time. Ivy gets much more exercise now since she can be off leash, and I can enjoy our walks. As a bonus, this collar and remote are very sleek – Ivy and I are by far the most stylish on the trail.
I'm personally somewhat new to the world of 'balanced' training, as I've only worked within positive reinforcement boundaries up until now. I picked these collars because I have all of the faith in Eufy/Anker brand. I'm very satisfied with the collars – they appear well made and charging with USB-C should be a snap (I haven't tried yet, however). The collars seem very comfortable for my two dogs (45lbs and 55lbs). I love that the electrodes are covered in silicone – seems much more comfortable than bare metal. Of course, I decided to risk turning myself into a meme to see how the shock feels before potentially using it on my dogs. I couldn't feel levels 1-3; 4 was a small tingle; 5 was 'omg did I stick my finger into an electrical socket?!' Even at five, it wasn't painful – just a visceral recoil. Fortunately, my dogs have only required the sound/vibration. I'm hoping to never use the shock, of course, but it's nice to know I have it. The remote is handy and a good size, but I have discovered the buttons are perhaps more sensitive than necessary. The remote slipped into the couch once and I accidentally buzzed my dogs; another time, I had it in my hand and accidentally buzzed them when I was trying to hold onto something else at the same time. Overall, I'm quite pleased. My learning curve is changing the settings on the remote to switch between the dogs or to set it to catch both at the same time. Also, I wish the vibrate had the ability to choose between one correction (ideally) or two (how it works currently). As far as training, I've begun giving my dogs a command just once and if they don't listen, they get buzzed (I choose not to use the sound because it would be correcting both dogs each time when most corrections are to one dog). The dogs are listening somewhat better in the first week of owning these, so I feel encouraged. Balance is the key to happiness.
We are part of a dog parent group that is always seeking recommendations for great products to assist with training. I really like this collar for its ease of setting up and how stylish it is. This is actually the more attractive collars we have tried out and I am a bit jealous I didn't try it sooner. The remote is small and fits conveniently in your palm. Paired with positive reinforcement, this collar is a great tool and a no brainer for us to recommend. Our golden would not be as well trained without an E collar and responded well to his new collar.

This really is a tremendously different product. 127 settings seemed overwhelming to me. As I use this more and more as I train my dog, I’m able to see what that really means. In the past, collars I’ve used only had a few settings, so moving up or down a notch so to say was a dramatic difference, while the dogtra allows me to fine tune the stim very minimally until I find my dogs “number” for the variety of situations. I bought the Dogtra 280C to use with my very active and agile 1 year old Toy Austrailian Sheppard for stopping unwanted behaviors like digging up my lawn and attacking the cat. The transmitter and receiver both hold charges for days, and easily sync by just holding the two units next to one another at the red dots for a second. The 1/2 mile range is more than enough to reach out and touch her for a friendly reminder to come in for supper. The LCD screen is super nice to see stimulation level at night or when I don't have my glasses with me. It is simple and easy to get started. Distance is accurate. If puppy/ dog has thick fur definitely have to unlock static levels. Vibrate only one level no to slight response viewd with our dog thick fur. I bought the 300 yard lite about 2 months ago for my 1 yr old Springer spaniel who is a little shy and very sensitive to corrections yet loves to bark at the neighbors. He usually stays in yard but does wander to neighbors on occasion to bark at them. Underground fencing not a good option for me so I tried this device. Wow it’s amazing! I trained him on our boundaries and recall with lots of praise and have only had to use the tone and vibration modes. The barking and preoccupation with neighbors has decreased substantially. We have had this PetSafe 300 for a couple of years now. It most definitely works in the 300 yard area. It is also very tough! It has survived several playful Corgis, and is now on a very rambunctious German Shepard. We really like the many selections you have with this trainer, from low to high. The hand held remote battery seems to last forever between charges, but the collar not so long. We seem to only get two days worth out of a charge at the most, which is why I can't give it a full 5 star rating. I would give it 4.5 starts if that was possible. Overall we would definitely buy again. We are looking to get another collar so the other can charge while one is on the rambunctiously large German Shepard puppy. I say puppy.. She's like 75lbs!!! The Dogtra Arc collar is just what my American Treeing Feist, 11 month puppy needed. I had borrowed the same collar from my daughter for about a month, but she needed it back, so for the past two months he had begun to get a little independent in the woods. As soon as I put the new Arc collar around his neck, he was a changed dog. Even without paging him, he began to hunt about 75 yards out and would return to check on me every few minutes. Whenever he gets out of sight, and seems to wander too long, I simply "page" him about three seconds and he comes running. Only twice in the past week have I had to stimulate him, somewhere between level 6 and 11. Then for a day or two after that, only the pager button is needed to turn him around. I have an adopted fur-baby that had a lot of control and behavior issues. Training, the usual way was just not working. I tried this and, within one day, the disruptive behavior (running and tearing up things in the house, jumping from one piece of furniture to another, non-stop barking) all stopped. He began with sitting, immediately after only two "vibrations" of the collar. By the end of the week, all I had to do was take out the remote control, say the words of sit, stay, no and wait, and he did so. Now, I don't have to use the remote at all but just say the words. I will tell you that, under no circumstances would I recommend the "shock" feature. Because it is easily changed on this model, by accident, I found out, the hard way just how much it hurts the animal. If you click MODE, by accident, from it being on vibrate, it switches over to Shock. BE VERY CAREFUL when you are about to use the Y button, for sound or vibration as, if it's on shock–and this was the very low setting–the dog whelps loudly and jumps, shakes, etc. I would not recommend it for any animal lover as, I don't even want to know what it feels like. Because the vibration is strong, even on low settings, and the other setting of "beep" is a high frequency sound, I found them the most effective. Thebeep sound is for Guiness (my new family member) to come–I use the vibration for correction, when needed. Guiness was the most difficult dog that I have worked with and I have behavioral training for dogs, which I have used for all of my pets. If this worked on him, it will work on most dogs that have behavioral issues. I would recommend it for the vibration and sound settings–and hope to get one that doesn't have the shock setting as, I feel that is just inhumane to use on a dog (my opinion after seeing how he reacted, on just a low setting). PLEASE USE CAREFULLY until you are used to the remote. That is my only advice when purchasing this for training.kelly4jesus
I have had the collar only a few days and so far it has met every expectation. We had a more expensive name brand training collar before this one which my dog somehow removed and chewed to oblivion. Rather than spend over $150 to replace it I wanted to try out a cheaper alternative in the likely event he ruins another one in the future. He had already been familiar with a training collar so going to this one was no problem. I like having a beep tone as well as a vibrate warning before having to go with a full on shock. I have so far only had the use the warning tone which is nice and loud on this collar and the pup recognizes it right away. It seems to have decent distance, have not tested the claimed 330 yards yet though. For the price it is a great unit with nice features. The more expensive one we had before was much more robust but I didnt expect this to be built the same for 1/5th the price, with that said it is built well, surprisingly well for the money honestly. Have not tested the waterproof ability yet as we dont live near water but it looks like it should be fine to get wet without issue. Battery life seems good so far, going on several days without a recharge but we dont use it all day either. Overall I am so far satisfied with it, I would recommend this toanyone who wants an inexpensive training collar but I dont expect it to last for years like the other one we had.kerr8719
Tested on an open field with the collar in line of sight, the range is roughly 150 feet. That said, I strongly doubt if any of the other e-collars can do much better without extraordinary antennas. Here in the US the transmitting power of devices like this is severely limited by law, so the only way to get more range than the competition is to have more prominent antennas. This collar delivers on a 2 year old high drive, 78 pound, male doberman. I used the shock once at 30 and it definitively got a yelp and the dog's attention. Since then the "vibrate" mode is effective enough. Most of the time we use the collar to stop barking at the window, The dog barks we say "quiet" and if, and only "if", the dog immediately barks again he gets a "vibrate". He seems to avoid barking immediately after a "quiet" command. Now the challenge is to extend the time he doesn't bark for at least 30 seconds after a "quiet" commend. Our second and very infrequent application is open field recalls. For that I'd dearly love an electric collar with a 100 yard range, but even this collar's 50 yard range is helpful. Using an e-collar in an open field is a tricky business. What seems to work is to put the collar away until you have a good recall without distractions. Even 10 feet in a hallway or tennis court teaches you and your dog how to do a recall that ends with the beast sitting nicely in front of you and getting a tasty reward. Never repeat your recall command even if it means constantly dragging the animal back until it figures our what you expect. What the e-collar is then useful for is dealing with distractions — another dog, an annoying squirrel or even sniffing a bit of chicken soup spilled nearby. Issue your recall command and look for that momentary hesitation when the animal decides to ignore you and hit the e-collar to remind the beast that you just gave a command. Any other timing and the animal has no clue and would just as easily take off in the opposite direction to get away from the unwelcome stimulation. One feature I miss is a combination tone/shock. Is this item a replacement for the RFA-577 model? The button on the training collar wore out and will not turn on the module anymore. I have gotten a solid two years out of the collar and I am very pleased with the results of responsible training for my dog. *Dominoe is a very well behaved dog and I am constantly getting compliments on his behavior. We use the collar to curb excessive barking from our 65 lb German Shepherd mix. We start with vibrate as a warning and if needed go to shock. (Lowest setting works fine for us) I also tested the shock on myself and though unpleasant, was not painful. After about two or three warning vibrate to shock transitions, our dog has learned the sequence of events. Rarely do we need to go to shock anymore. The warning vibrate curbs the barking. My only complaints are that the vibrate and shock buttons are too similar and I feel the potential to accidently press them is high. Also, there is a small beep with every button press that I could do without. Long story short… If this one breaks, I'll probably reorder the exact same one.scooter5.9
This little e-collar does everything it should do, it is small enough I used it on my 10 pound poodle. She thought she was going to chase the cat and by mistake (my fault) I hit the shock button instead of vibrate, she did get a good shock as it was set on 20 but she now can be stopped from even thinking of chasing a cat or chicken. I only need the vibrate with her, and she only needed the collar for about a week she just needed to know I could reach out and touch her even at a distance. I would like to add,she knew her commands consistently on leash before the collar was used A few months latter I know have a different opinion. I cannot get it to keep a charge, five minutes tops,, I wish it had a some interior battery to change so it would charge again. My newest thought is I would not buy again. We have a Border Colley, that was a year old when we got him from a couple the that had gave up training him. He is very intelligent to intelligent for his own good, he would sneak off and bother the neighborhood and neighborhood animals. After using this collar 3 days the audio and vibrant is all needed after stocked one time. I'd tried a few different things to curb my dog's barking but nothing had worked. I chose this model based on the 'Bark Collars by Breed' chart and then rang the 0800 number to get further advice. My Boston Terrier of 9 years never barked in her life. We got a rescue and those days are over. Now she barks at everything, even more than the rescue. I bought an inferior product that didn’t work at all. So I invested in the Barkless 504. Well she will bark through the stimulation, even with the longer sensors and set to the highest L9. It does seem she barks a little less, but she definitely barks through the collar stimulation. I’m not over joyed by the function of this collar but it seems to be the best there is.Penny R
This collar did not work properly. It would do static correction when my dog was quiet and the bark counter didn't even register a single bark when he was barking like crazy. I tried to get it to work properly for 3 days before returning for a refund (that I had to pay shipping for both ways). It was very disappointing, especially when I was told 'there was nothing wrong with the collar'. (Yes, it was fitted correctly.) This collar is no good for very fluffy dogs. When I first got my puppy at 6 months old he would constantly bark. I was told at the store this is not a very good bark training collar, but if I wanted something inexpensive to try it and if it didn’t work I could return it. I was then hesitate that it didn’t work, but still tried it and loved it! Every time he barked you could see the light flash on it. 1 downfall is the collar can be easily rotated around the neck no matter how tight you have it if the scratches at it. It needs to be kept in the front of the dogs neck, and as high up the neck as possible. So you have to keep adjusting it, but I also found it shocks them if they are doing something they aren’t supposed to, and when you yell loudly at them it shocks them as well. So it serves a multipurpose of bark control, and obedience. I only had to use it on my dog for less than a week, and he stopped the constant barking, chewing, and was 100% more obedient! I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money on training collars, or bark collars! Worked great!Lauj
my dog can’t even shake his head without getting a correction. Almost any sound cause him to get a correction so it is scary and confusing for him. It would be nice if there was a sensitivy adjustment but the collar as designed is not helpful. The average bark of a dog compared to the sounds that are setting this off are not the same and all will cause the dog anxiety due to the false stimulations.Heather52

I bought this collar to replace a cheap one that I had. I do like the quality of it. However, The only thing I don't like, is it turns off automatically after one hour if you don't use a function. So it will turn off even if you are out walking your dog for an hour or longer. If your dog takes off after animal if you go to use it in an emergency, it is turned off and you have to try to turn it on quickly before your dog runs off.jasonk304

I purchased this product on my brother's recommendation. I have 10 dogs and 14 guineas and only one of the dogs would kill our fowl. My brother had used collars on his dogs with problem behavior and they are now great dogs. I was a little hesitant to use it because I'm not a electric stimulus collar user. It worked great. I don't have to use the stimulus button anymore, just use the tone and she knows she's too close to the guineas. It's not harsh–u determine the settings–and it's well made.guinealady
I bought this collar because we have 3 small dogs with varying issues mostly barking that one starts and it triggers the other two and drives us crazy lol. I started with one dog it took a day and maybe 4 corrections and practically instant results. Second dog had the worst issues especially maniacal barking on walks at other dogs and people. It was almost instantaneous with him and it's abit of a shock(no pun intended) how fast it worked to help. The price seemed abit much but after using it,it was money well spent to bring some much needed tranquility to our home and everyone's a lot happier. I highly recommend this productChris P
Was hesitant to get this b/c I wasn't sure it was humane. After talking to my vet, I felt comfortable making the purchase. IMMEDIATELY, my wonderful, yet poorly socialized Mini Schnauzer changed his ways. It only took a few zaps, and now he responds to tone only. I would NOT walk him b/c he would go spastic when we met other people and/or dogs — now, although he is still interested in them, I can hit the tone and he just keeps walking. Also, his barking in the backyard has improved tremendously. I send him out, and if he starts barking excessively, I hit the tone button and it stops. I now have no fear about taking him out in "public." Some worry that it makes them more aggressive, etc., but I will tell you he is still the same playful, lovable dog. It truly saved us from having animal control show up on our doorstep!! You will wince at the price, but after one day you will realize it was a bargain — best money you ever spent.Xandi

The best Bark collar I have seen ever. I repair tech products and can see quality in this device. However, my dog completely ignores it. My dog is an English Shepherd breed, with strong herding instincts that completely override the noise and the shocks. Sorry guys. I am sure other dogs may comply. The above Rating answer options don't really allow me to be nice . . . so read this! Can I recommend it? Not for my breed, but for smaller less energetic dogs, I am sure there would be some compliance. Is it good value? If it works for your dog then yes it would be – but for my breed no.
