Great concept. No more carrying a leash while pooch is on adventure off leash. This is a good solution to a real need. The collar/lease is very convenient and well designed with one exception: the wrist strap is too small in diameter for a comfortable fit. It needs too be enlarged to fit you wrist. Also, the wrist material is too narrow and has sharp edges making is uncomfortable. Update the wrist strap accordingly and you have a perfect product. Thank you.happyntn
I have the best off-leash dog in the world. She is non-reactive to other dogs and always stays with me on hikes. She is a lab so loves to jump into creeks. I bought a RadDog collar when she was younger and she outgrew it and at the time it was the largest size they had so that was really disappointing. I used other types of similar idea collars but they all failed after a while (maybe because of swimming in the collar). Eventually I looked and was delighted to see a larger version and bought it so I'm thrilled to have my Luna wearing her RadDog collar again. It makes it so easy to grab her leash when we are passing other people and dogs on a hike – not because she will do anything but they don't know that – really just to be polite. And for areas where a leash is required, it at least looks like she is on leash 😉Jill G

The only reason we don't give it full stars is that it would be wonderful if the company would make it so that these could be repaired. It seems like a big waste to throw it all away when the line gets frayed and breaks…which has happened on each of the leashes that we've owned. Maybe the line should have a metal cable to make it more durable? Or there could be a send back in for repair option? Thanks otherwise for a very handy and useful invention!

I have purchased several for my Service Dog. They are critical for the dogs safety and for alerting the public that service dog is in the area. With that said…. The Velco needs to be more aggressive. The length of velco needs to be lengthened by 1/8" fo 3/4" collars without stretching plastic sheath which results in time. The little pressure tabs that hold battery in place do not have enough spring memory and loose pressure after a few months resulting in batteries falling out or loose connections. I have seen switches go bad over 6 month period. Keep in mind these issues are from intense service dog use. The average dog owner would probably not have such issues for over a year. Please improve this product and bring in some extra colors. If you were to partner with GPS location product called PawsScout the lighting would also track your dogs location on your phone with no monthly fee. It would be a perfect collaboration.SDhandler
Kind of week when I bought it. It lasted a few months, and that was running it for maybe 15 minutes each night. I was conservative with my use, because I knew the batteries were weak when I purchased it. Figuring I might not have a replacement battery on hand I didn’t want to run it down too soon. This was a good purchase considering that my dog runs of leash. It is a great thing to have on hikes and generally just to have around. The cons to this product was it not being waterproof. I excitedly bought this light because it's rechargeable. I've purchased other lights like this that aren't rechargeable and the battery doesn't last long, so I thought this was a great idea to reduce waste. The light itself is very bright and it's great for seeing my black dog. It does need to be charged every few days even though it was only being used for a couple hours at a time. There is no warning (ie fading) if the battery is low – it just turns off, so it's important to keep track of when the last time it was charged. It's really frustrating however that this light only worked for 2 weeks!! Eventhough it is fully charged, the light doesn't turn on at all. Really unfortunate that it only worked for two weeks. I've reached out to the customer service twice and have not heard back. Really poor experience.Michelle
I like these. They're clever little gizmos that shed a nice bright light. I clip one to my dog's harness and light it up when we're out at night, so I can keep track of her when she's off-leash and cyclists and motorists can see her when we're walking. The downside is that they don't last forever–they're just a little too fragile for all the jostling they get from being attached to a lively dog. So the current purchases are #3 and #4. #1 just went dead after a few months (yes, I put new batteries in it but it still won't light) and #2 will still light up after about a year of use, but it switches itself off after a few seconds. Still, they're inexpensive enough that it was worth getting new ones. I haven't found anything better for putting a light on my dog!Lauren
The light didnt cost much but you still expect it to work. Could not get the case to open at first. Finally got a kitchen paring knife and pried it open to detach the paper tab protecting the batteries. I could have cut myself. The instructions on the package were useless. Do you unscrew the light halves? Do you pry it open with something? Totally useless. After prying it open the front half of the case got a bit bent. Now it's almost useless. Overall, these collars are the single best lighting beacon for the dogs that I have found. I resized them per instructions with no problem. However, they can come un-done while in use. I was fortunate to find one that fell off. To prevent that, I wound a couple turns of out-door electrical tape at both sides of the connector. I purchased one blue collar and one red collar to distinguish my dogs at a distance. The blue is not as bright as the red, and takes more batteries. (Of course, the "blue" dog is the one that runs off on me, but I can not fault niteize for that!) Keep the excellent products coming.

Used this leash for the first time the other day, and love the idea behind this product. If you walk your dog off leash, you will love this product. No more having to worry about trying to leash your dog quickly when other people/animals pass. I do agree with a previous review. The wrist portion of the leash could be a little bigger, especially if you live somewhere cold and need gloves. Initially I thought the product might be too bulky, but it didn't bother my dog at all. I've been buying these collars for a long time. I love that these are rechargeable – much easier than the the battery operated ones that I originally purchased. They are also very bright! The only thing that would make them MORE perfect is if there was a way they could give you an alert of some kind to let you know the charge is getting low. Since I don't use it for set periods, it's hard to know when it's getting low – and then suddenly it's just out. They're are great, that addition would just make them even greater. We had one for several years, it was perfect for dark winter evening walks. We had a small one for our ten pound Havenese. These are convenient little lights. We have very little outside lighting so they are extremely helpful in both keeping track of our dogs at night when they are out in our yard and for safety when walking them at night. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because they are a little tricky to turn on and off initially. If I could change one thing I wish they turned on and off with the press of a button or front of unit. These turn on and off by turning the front of the light. We actually broke one turning it too hard, but the price point is so low that I ordered multiple replacements to keep on hand. I bought 3 of these about 6 weeks ago. They are very strong and durable, especially for dogs that play rough and line to grab each other’s collars. The best aspect is the ability to recharge them. They are nice and bright. The only con is that they only light up on the edges so for dogs with a longer coat, it gets hidden and doesn’t show up as well. I've had the green one for a couple months. We use it ~ 30 mins every night, so was expecting to get 3 – 4 months use out of it based on the 60h listed. After about a month I noticed it fading. By a month and a half, I had to swap out the batteries, as you could only really see it in the pitch black and the light wasn't powerful enough to make it around the whole circumference of the necklace. I will note I used it on the solid light setting, not blinking. Overall, this is a great idea. Good for safety while walking on the road and great while the dog runs around the park off-leash at night. Fun to watch and much easier to avoid being taken out! I worried that it would annoy my dog, but where it sits on his neck, I don't think he even notices he has a glowing necklace on. It's very bright and I've had no issues with it popping off. I kept it big enough to slip on and off him. Based on the battery life, I think I'd look for a USB rechargeable one in the future – they run at a similar price. Though the few USB ones I've seen (red colour) at the park have not been nearly as bright as our green NiteHowl. These type of collars may not be suited for really long furred dogs as they seem to get buried. They will emit a gentle 'glow' though if they have light coloured fur.Chipwagon
My dog is jet BLACK & can’t see her at all In the dark. So I loved these light up collars. Had 1 from different maker for 4 years & finally quit working. Had the blue for just 3 months but now in cold weather the batteries don’t light up as well. Tried other batteries and same issue. Purchased the rechargeable one and it worked for about a month and quit charging. Love these when they work properly

My dog wears this during our late evening walks. It glows very brightly, but keep in mind its light output will gradually diminish as the battery drains. It was easy to size for my dogs neck and hasn't come undone since. We've used this year round in rain, snow, and heat, all without any problems. It has two modes: solid and flash. The flash mode greatly increases your battery life should battery longevity be a concern. Although these button style batteries are cheap and available everywhere – including some dollar stores. Another note to keep in mind is the green model require an additional battery compared to the red model. Red LED's are more efficient than green and thus can run on one less cell.fire possums

I tried the ones that blink, the ones where you slip the light into the collar but these work the best. We go for night walks on the beach and so far these have held up pretty nicely. I own two of these collars, both orange and they are awesome. With the press of a button you can have a solid glow or blinking. Batteries are cheap to get online or at the dollar store (3/$1). Some of the collars have a 'silver' reflective stripe going around the collar. Don't rely on that to do anything as it wears off in the first 48 hours. I'd also suggest that you have your dogs along with you as these collars do not allow for more than one inch adjustment due to the glow band embedded inside the nylon collar. Great concept. No more carrying a leash while pooch is on adventure off leash. This is a good solution to a real need. The collar/lease is very convenient and well designed with one exception: the wrist strap is too small in diameter for a comfortable fit. It needs too be enlarged to fit you wrist. Also, the wrist material is too narrow and has sharp edges making is uncomfortable. Update the wrist strap accordingly and you have a perfect product. Thank you.happyntn
I have the best off-leash dog in the world. She is non-reactive to other dogs and always stays with me on hikes. She is a lab so loves to jump into creeks. I bought a RadDog collar when she was younger and she outgrew it and at the time it was the largest size they had so that was really disappointing. I used other types of similar idea collars but they all failed after a while (maybe because of swimming in the collar). Eventually I looked and was delighted to see a larger version and bought it so I'm thrilled to have my Luna wearing her RadDog collar again. It makes it so easy to grab her leash when we are passing other people and dogs on a hike – not because she will do anything but they don't know that – really just to be polite. And for areas where a leash is required, it at least looks like she is on leash 😉Jill G
We are on our third All-In-One collar/leash and think this is a fabulous product. The only reason we don't give it full stars is that it would be wonderful if the company would make it so that these could be repaired. It seems like a big waste to throw it all away when the line gets frayed and breaks…which has happened on each of the leashes that we've owned. Maybe the line should have a metal cable to make it more durable? Or there could be a send back in for repair option? Thanks otherwise for a very handy and useful invention!

My dog isn't very tall, and I tend to have dark outerwear, and I always feel visible on our evening walks. I get positive comments or questions about where I got it, nearly every day! This leash is great. It’s the second one I have purchased and valuable improvements have been made. It is bright in daylight and the led lights are very bright at night. The button is easy to turn on and better than the two buttons the older version utilized. It also has a handy ring near the handle to attach the cleanup bag holder and I also have a mesh bag to carry waste so we all stay clean!Desis mom
I have this in the blue and yellow ! I ca tell you I love both but blue is prettiest to me ! I get stopped 2-3 x on my walks to ask where I got these leashes! They last a long time after charging and you can set to solid on , blinking or off . I use the solid on – I also got the collar but don’t use it as much ( mainly bc I font want to change my dogs collars before walks ! I have 4 dogs but have to walk two at a time ( which is why I have two colors ! I was reluctant to spend 30$ on a leash but it’s so worth it ! These are strong too ( my Labrador is 118 lbs alone!) I do wish you’d come out with a w a smaller version for tiny dogs ? ( like a 1/2” thick collar and leash for my West Highland Terrier ) I love that these are rechargeable!Mtnbrookie
