We got this on Amazon for my two schnauzers and I brush their teeth with this every night. The toothbrush provided is meant for medium size dogs and for the back teeth. I use my finger and a little toothpaste for the front teeth as it’s harder to use the brush there. One of my dog absolutely loves this stuff. He knows when it's time for his teeth brushing and sits their and licks all of the paste through the cracks in his teeth while I brush. I haven't done such a good job on brushing their teeth. The starting point is to find a quality toothpaste for my dogs. After using, "Vet's Best" Nature's Health Care, Dental Gel Toothpaste, I think it is indeed, a quality toothpaste. The toothpaste's ingredients were formulated by a Veterinarian using a combination of natural ingredients. Those ingredients include Neem oil, baking soda, grapefruit seed extract, aloe and enzymes. My older dog hasn't had her teeth brushed in a good while. This will be the first time for my younger dog. I really wanted to try out a teeth whitening product and I was about to buy one of the expensive whitening light kits but I saw this. I know baking soda is good for whitening your teeth like other methods. I gave it a try since it was cheap and well for one, the taste isn’t really the best but it’s bearable, there is a bit of mint flavor that they added so that helped a lot. If the taste is still not great for you they also have other products with extra mint flavor. Just from the first use I saw some pretty good results. It was not completely white obviously but just using the product everyday over time it helps significantly. Have you brushed your dog's teeth lately? My review is on Vet's Best, Dental Gel Toothpaste. I know and understand just how important my dog's dental care really is. I haven't done such a good job on brushing their teeth. The starting point is to find a quality toothpaste for my dogs. After using, "Vet's Best" Nature's Health Care, Dental Gel Toothpaste, I think it is indeed, a quality toothpaste. The toothpaste's ingredients were formulated by a Veterinarian using a combination of natural ingredients. Those ingredients include Neem oil, baking soda, grapefruit seed extract, aloe and enzymes. My older dog hasn't had her teeth brushed in a good while. This will be the first time for my younger dog. I know it will take some time to get them use to this routine so, I plan to brush their teeth at least 2-3 times a week. Some dog owners brush their dog's teeth everyday. You will have to make that decision yourself. My older dog's gums bled a little more than I expected. Therefore, everyday is not a good idea for her until this bleeding stops. The younger dog was frightened and he was most difficult to hold. I brushed his but it was difficult at best. In time he will settle down. I noticed, that both dogs seemed to like the taste of Vet's Best, Dental Gel toothpaste. That's a good thing. They were just a little scared and nervous. I think in time, both will settle down and get use to it. Meanwhile, I know that regular brushing will help to make their teeth stronger and will help in fighting plaque and tarter. I am hoping that my older dog's gums will stop bleeding soon. I know that bacteria can set up in her gums, and I could very well lose her. That bacterial infection (just like in humans) could spread to her vital organs causing damage and or organ failure. This is something to always be aware of and watch for. The complete Vet's Best, Dental Kit includes a special triple headed toothbrush and the Dental Gel Toothpaste. My plan is to try using my finger to spread the toothpaste on the teeth first, then use a soft cloth to rub the teeth. I know now after trying this toothpaste with a brush, my finger and a soft cloth will work better for my dogs. With the natural ingredients in Vet's Best Dental Gel Toothpaste, and knowing that they like the taste, I am expecting whiter teeth, less tarter, and better smelling breath. I have no problem in recommending this natural Dental Gel Toothpaste, by "Vet's Best." Brushing your dog's teeth regularly, is not too much to ask to ensure your dog's health and well being.DD
I am going to be honest, who brushes their dogs teeth? Well I can tell you, that from here on out we will be. Everyone who owns a dog knows the love when that hot dog breath blasts in your face. The smell is that of food mixed with morning breath. This toothpaste saves you from unwanted blasts of smell that take over your nose, it is very easy to use and our dog didn't mind at all that we brushed his teeth. He thinks it's fun to get extra attention and I think he also likes having fresh breath. He always runs to my husband after and it is like he blows in his face so he can see he has fresh breath. I dont read descriptions because I like to be surprised apparently so Im not sure if it states these bombs are also a bubble bath. (lol) But oh my goodness! These are larger in size so they would work in a jacuzzi tub. I have a decent sized tub, throw them in at the start of fill-up, and it is still fizzing by the time I turn the water off. Light sugary-sweet scent, pink water (my fav) and beautiful white bubbles. These might be my fav product from you all so far!k. k.

One of my dog absolutely loves this stuff. He knows when it's time for his teeth brushing and sits their and licks all of the paste through the cracks in his teeth while I brush. My other dog is still getting used to his face being touched, but he has been enjoying the taste of the paste. I have noticed less plaque and buildup on my dog's teeth since we started using it. Bought first tube awhile back and was trying to find the same brand. This is only place I could find it. It is smaller tube now, but that's fine since I don't want it to expire. I set up auto shipment so I can keep getting more of it on regular basis. Shipping was free. I have used this for several years and my dog's teeth and gums look great. My dog was abandoned and neglected but you would't know it looking at him now. He gets excited to brush his teeth at night. He loves the flavor and enjoys licking the toothbrush. I put small dab on outside of top two back molars and go from outside to inside trying to get that big groove then another dab for front canines. I purchased this tube from Chewy.com for my Sheltie. I've been brushing his teeth since he came home as a baby, and he also gets Plaqueoff in his food. The breed is notorious for dental issues, so I'm hoping to keep things at bay by being proactive with his dental health. Petsmile interested me because I saw that this was the only toothpaste with the VOHC seal–so I opted to try it. He doesn't seem to be in love with the flavor, which I took a shot on, but it's not bothering his gums or his stomach. He has some tooth staining, which this paste hasn't really removed, but I have noticed some small bits of plaque on his smaller bottom teeth is now gone, by about half. I brush his teeth every night, so other than adding this paste into our routine, I'm inclined to think that's what finally dissolved that tartar. Yay! I wish Petsmile offered every flavor in a smaller tube, though, because even though this was pricey, it was still cheaper than the $25 standard tube. I also am keeping my fingers crossed for a vanilla or mint flavor will become available, because my boy loves vanilla so much. I currently use a USDA organic dog toothpaste, which is cinnamon flavored, but it doesn't have the VOHC seal, nor the enzyme technology. However, he loves that flavor! I actually brush with the cinnamon flavored paste, then apply the Petsmile as a finisher, because it'll sit in his mouth all night and I do like the fact that brushing with this isn't necessary. I'm going to purchase the cheese flavor today, even though it's a bigger tube, because I'm hoping that he'll enjoy it a bit more, and I do think it's making somewhat of a difference. We have been using this toothpaste for about 6 months, after having to spend $$$+ on specialty dental care. They had a follow up exam this week, and got an A from their veterinarian dentist. He commented that he rarely sees actual improvement- but both of our senior dogs did improve “vastly” after 6 months of daily use. The pups don’t seem to love the flavor, but after that great report card, we are sticking with Petsmile! Nice to be in a car with 3 dogs, and NO doggy breath!J. L.
I ordered this months ago after checking the list of VOHC-approved dental products. I've always brushed my dogs teeth and, although this product is expensive, it's the only VOHC-approved toothpaste. I notice a difference in teeth cleanliness and am looking forward to the dogs next annual veterinary visit. The dogs might get a dental because all I can see is what's above the gum line, but if a visible inspection was the only criteria for a dental, my guys would not need one. Although it does not cause tooth decay it is a laxative and can have many other negative side affects. Sugar alcohols are seriously bad for dogs and can cause mild to severe health problems and death.
