Dachshund Wall Hanging
We know Snickers doesn’t look much like a dachshund,
but please don’t tell him! Snickers was adopted from a shelter nine years
ago to be the best friend of little boys who wanted a “rough and tough
dog” to join the family’s dachshunds -- someone who could serve as a
pillow as well as a fellow ballplayer.
Snickers has served both functions well, in addition to becoming best
friend to numerous dachshunds and Ambassador of Large Breeds for all the
foster dachshunds temporarily joining his home.
He is loved and adored by his family and they were devastated when he
started experiencing serious seizure activity that accelerated and which
has since been diagnosed as being caused by cancer. Shortly before this
happened, his mom had completed this unique AHDRS wall hanging and donated
it for fundraising for the AHDRS medical fund. Knowing how much she had
already spent on Snickers’ care, and knowing that she faced additional
expenses helping her mother through her own cancer treatment, we wanted
her hard work and creativity to pay off for Snickers this time. She has
already helped so many dachshunds, it’s time to concentrate on this big
boy!
So, we are turning the tables and having this wall
hanging benefit the best friend of dachshunds, rather than the dachshunds
themselves, as there are some long dogs in Snickers’ home who assure us
they want nothing more than the very best for their truly BIG brother.
This wall hanging features the art work found on many of the decals
offered through our Boutique Page, plus many new ones. It measures 32” x
32” and is made from pre-washed cotton fabric with a polyfil quilt
batting. The decal artwork is created from iron-on transfers and the wall
hanging can be washed in cold water and should be air-dried rather than
placed in the dryer. A beige and neutral floral fabric highlights the
artwork and the back is finished in beige fabric. (A photo just can’t do
justice to this artwork – like the adorable little longhair swaying to the
music and announcing “Music to my ears. I’ve been rescued.”)
Raffle tickets are $5 each or five (5) for $20. Raffle ends July 31st with
the drawing on August 1st. If paying by check, please include the
following information when sending payment: email address, phone number,
mailing address and number of tickets you are purchasing. Checks should be
received by July 26th.
